Will The Sims 3 run on my mac

This is my Mac Spec.
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory  2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)
I want to buy The Sims 3 and i'm just wondering if it will fit. The Sims requires 2GB of RAM, will this make my Mac slow? or the game?
I'm not too sure if this is the right place to post this.
Many thanks to anyone who can help!

2 GB is rather the minimum. Your machine would deserve more RAM, as much as possible, with or without Sims 3.

  • Will the mini run on a Mac desktop

Just thinking it would be useful to have a second computer that can run thru my Mac desktop if it is possible-and use the screen.

There is a way to use an iMac as a display for a mini:

should i install the sims 3 on my mac or will it make it slow ?

    annalise253,
installing a legitimately purchased game on your Mac should not make it slow unless its internal disk is critically low on free space. If installing the game does slow it down when the game isn’t being played, you could uninstall the game. Installing a game of uncertain provenance could have side effects, depending upon how the game has been modified.

Apple has not provided any info as to whether or not Boot Camp will support Vista. You'll just have to wait and see.

  • The Sims 3: On a Mac?

    Hi All,
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the UPS man and my Sims 3 today. (I ordered the game as soon as it was available for pre-order!)
I have played the Sims 2 on a Dell desktop, and it has worked fine for me.
However, this past year I have purchased 2 Mac desktops, and 2 MacBooks. I have come to LOVE Macs, and I find Dells to be annoying and slow compared to my new Macs.
My understanding is that the Sims 3 Disk (Collector's Edition) will be compatible with both Macs and PCs. I am trying to decide wether to continue using a Dell, or if I should switch to a Mac desktop.
Have you played the Sims 2 on a Mac?
Will this Sims 3 disk work on a Mac?
**Will I be able to download custom content from other sites, such as Mod The Sims?
    *Will the custom content work?
I am most concerned with the custom content. I love it, and I love creating it.
Please help me! I appreciate you time
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S. I am ohkerry1125 on the new TS3 site!

The Apple Stores are demoing Sims 3 right now, at least they were about a week ago when I stopped by my local store. You should visit one of the New York stores and see for yourself. Actually, you said you already bought it and your package was arriving today, so won't you know the answers in a few hours? You should let the rest of us know...
FYI - You are posting in the category for the older iMac G4 (what Apple calls "iMac Flat Panel"). The Intel iMac category is here.

  • If I connect my mini to my windows 8 computer will the computer run on ios?

If I connect my mini to my windows 8 computer will the computer run on ios?

Your Mac doesn't run iOS now. iOS is for the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone.
What is it you are trying to accomplish?

  • Will the 20" work with a Mac Mini?

I've heard that the apple cinema monitors only work on PowerMac G4's and G5's. Is a Mac Mini a powermac g4. or will the monitor work with a mac mini?

Yes, all the latest Cinema displays work with the mini except for the 30".

  • Will the sim card from my 5 work in the 6?

Will the SIM card from my iphone5 work in an iPhone 6?

The iPhone 4s uses a Micro SIM and the iPhone 6 uses a Nano SIM.  The Nano SIM is smaller and thinner, so you should get a new SIM, but some customers have been able to trim their Micro SIM down and gotten it to work in the newer iPhones.  It is a snug fit since it is also thicker, so I would suggest getting a new SIM if you can.

    I have a Macbook Pro 13in early 2011
I would like to purchase The Sims 3, however, it says that the system requirements are
    Mac System Requirements
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
    CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor
    RAM: 2 GB RAM
    DISC DRIVE:
Hard Drive: At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

will I be able to play this on my mac?

We can't help much unless you tell us exactly what happens when you try to install Mavericks. Also, please tell us exactly what model MBP you have, RAM installed, etc.

  • Will Captivate 4 run on a Mac using Parallels?

I'm on a Mac system and I really need a tool like Captivate to generate presentations for the web, not so much quizzes and full blown e-learning just yet.... Microsoft has eaten enough time and money of mine, so I've got Parallels already that came with the Mac system. And I wonder if the license will convert to Mac usage when it comes out for the Mac? And does anyone have any guesses as to when that will be?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

I use Quicken for Windows to track a very large investment account including private investments, stock trades, interest, etc.   Quicken for Mac doesn't track all the info that I need.  I have Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 on my Mac.    If I install Parallels 9, do I still need to purchase another Microsoft license before installing Quicken?
Since your concern is getting Quicken for Windows to function, you should realize that Parallels creates an environment in which the Windows OS (Win 7, Win 8, etc.) can run on a Mac but doesn't come with Windows built in. So you'd still need a license for the Microsoft OS; the Office for Mac license doesn't apply. And since I don't believe Win 7 is available any longer for purchase, you'd need to deterrnine if Quicken for Windows 2008 can run in Windows 8 by using the link Templeton Peck provided.

  • Will The Sims 3 take a huge chunk out of my memory?

    Hi everyone,
I want to download The sims 3 for my iMac 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, it has 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and Sims uses 2GB RAM, I just want to know will this download take a huge chunk from my memory and will the game slow my iMac down.
It'd be awesome if someone could get back to me
    Many thanks, Amy

think you may confuse storage and work memory
storage as in the harddrive is like a fridge where work memory which you have 8GB is like the kitchen table where the "processing" is done
when one ends the program or game the kitchen table is cleared up for new data so
when your sims game is not running it's not taking up any of your 8GB of memory
and likely the 2GB is storage as in how much it take up on your harddrive

  • Will firefox 5 run on a mac pro running snow leopard

I like FF but am concerned whether it will run on my mac pro running snow leopard, since the download information says it is a windows program.

Snow Leopard being Mac OSX 10.6
You need to download the version for Mac, not the .exe which is for Windows.
www.mozilla.com or if you prefer a certain language no given then look at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html and look down the middle which is Mac OSX.

  • Basics: will snow leopard run on my mac mini

    Hi
    a) how do I find out what software is currently running on my mac?
b)given I've had the mac for around 4 years and not purchased software, it's going to be running a pretty old programme I reckon. What problems am I going to encounter upgrading to snowleopard?
    Many thanks.

    Hello,
The first question is whether or not your Mac Mini has an Intel processor. Do +Apple > About This Mac+ if you need to find out. It will tell you what processor is in your mini. (Snow Leopard can only be installed on Intel based Macs.)

  • Will Mountain Lion run on my mac mini running lion server?

I like the new features of Mountain Lion and I am not utilizing the "server" functions of lion.  Will the new os effect the mini's operation?

Which Mini exactly, some cannot use 10.8?
10.7 was far more steps backwards than forwards, ML/10.8 has a few step forwards from 10.7 & a few backwrds...
Macs that will support OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
As usual, the newer the Mac the better:
              •          MacBook Pro – 13″ from mid 2009 or later, 15″ from late 2007 and newer, 17″ from late 2007 and newer
              •          MacBook Air – late 2008 and newer
              •          iMac – models from mid 2007 and newer
              •          MacBook – 13″ aluminum from 2008, 13″ from 2009 and newer
              •          Mac Mini – early 2009 and newer
              •          Mac Pro – early 2008 models and newer
              •          XServe – early 2009 models and newer
Macs that are NOT expected to support OS X Mountain Lion
Older Macs and those with weaker GPU’s will likely be left behind:
              •          Anything with an Intel GMA 950 or x3100 integrated graphics card
              •          Anything with an ATI Radeon X1600
              •          MacBook models released prior to 2008
              •          Mac Mini released prior to 2007
              •          iMac models released prior to 2007
              •          Original MacBook Air
This list of compatible and incompatible Macs and system requirements are based off of the first OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview and may be subject to change, we will update when we learn more about the specifics. OS X Mountain Lion will be released this summer but presumably long before that we will know precise system requirements and what Macs are and are not supported by the new version of OS X. Stay tuned.
