Well here is my N8/ Belle story, or should I say nightmare. I checked my phone for updates, and installed an important update, which ended up being Belle. Nothing has been the same since. What doesn't work on my phone since the install...
- I can not make phone calls without turning the phone off and then on again. Even if I do that, there are no guarantees I can put a call through. Everything about dialing a phone number looks like it is working, but all I get is silence. If I call my phone from another phone, I hear the ringing on the phone I am using, but my N8 doesn't ring, or act like a call is coming in.
-I can't text message anymore, send or receive. I can create a message, press send, but it just sits in the outbox. Occasionally an " Unable to send" window pops up.
-I charge up the phone, and the battery is dead within hours. A charge will not last through the night. Here's the kicker....I just had a brand new battery installed.
I am sure there are other issues that I have yet to discover, because,well, I am trying to solve the important things like making a darn phone call!!
I have been around to nokia offical forums in other countries, and I have seen other Nokia phone owners experiencing the exact same problems as I am. I purchased the phone in Canada from Rogers. Last year, I came to the States for five months, unlocked the phone and used T-Mobile. I returned to the States again this wiinter (I am still in the USA), and am back on T-Mobile. Everything was fine until Feb. 28th, 2013, the day I did the install of Belle.
If there is anyone out there who can troubleshoot the issues, or offer some insight as to how to fix my phone, I will be very grateful.

Belle Refresh Update for E6

I just saw the update available on my E6. Downloaded and said yes to install it. The phone shuts down to restart, but doesnt restart. A white screen is flickering and keeps flickering...nothing happens...i closed the phone using the power button and switched it on again to find the phone in the previous state..so no update or formatting happened. Heres my tips: install Nokia suite (nothing else). Attach your phone via USB and the software should tell you that an update is available. When proceeding with the update be careful and READ what it says on the Nokia suite update window. It says that you should not type aaanything else than your pin code when it restarts (perhaps a few times). After you have typed your pin code you will see some prompts for additional stuff on the phone screen, but leave it be! After this the update will continue for several minutes and it may feel like something has hanged, but most likely it has not. I did not get a clear "everything is ready sir" when the update was ready, but from the phone screen and from the computer i drew the conclusions that, yes. After this you can install the other suggested software (perhaps 4-5 different).
I have updated other Belle phones aswell and I think that the message of typing only the pin code is critical.

Will there be a Camera Raw update For Elements 10 for the new Canon 5D Mark 3?

I have the new Canon 5D. Love the results but, I can not process the photos in Lightroom 4 or Elements 10. I downloaded the update for CS5 to see if there was a work around but I don't know my way around the software. It looks like someone dropped the ball big time on this one.

Ok, so what is so different in the Camera Raw for CS5/CS6 Beta vs Elements? You would think that they would be both the same! There are a lot of professionals like myself bought their Canon 5D Mk 3 thinking that the software would be there to support the camera release. Sure, I am also wondering why Canon hasn't done an update with the release. This feels like buying a car and some day in the future - we don't know when there will be road that you can drive it on.
Tried to convert the Mk 3 DNG files. Didn't work. Get a purple or pink cover over the images. It works great with my 7D files.
If I had a Camera to fall back on I wouldn't be so desperate but my Canon 7D (Which I have enjoyed for the last two years) was destroyed in a accident the day before the Canon 5D mark 3 was anounced. So, I am starting from scratch and I need access to my Raw files to get my work done. Working with Canon Software is not what I would use in a productive work flow. If this was a hobby - OK but for production work, I need the right tools and right now, LR 4 which is the back bone of my work is useless.

I have an I-Pad Mini.
It requires Itunes 11 to be compatible with my macbook, which I've installed.
I've seen other posts that say rented do exist in Itunes however elusive they seem.
I just have to 'search' them.
However, I can't see how to get the rented movie onto my Ipad.
There doesn't seem to be a 'Rental Folder' from which I can drag and drop.
While the .mp4 shows up in finder, I can't open it in I-Tunes either...

There will never be a permanent resolution. Java is inherently insecure by design.

yes you are right with the XAVC, which is, as far as I understand, the pro version of the 4K Sony codec, XAVC-S being the more "mainstream" version,
and both of them can be used for full HD resolution too, probably with higher quality than the AVCHD.
I've just tried to import some MXF sample footage from a Sony F5/F55, with no luck at all.
So I think we can conclude that PP CS6
can import XAVC-S files (fullHD and 4K), fullHD worked for me but not 4k (maybe because of me graphic card), 4k works for Bengaldad.

Corrupted video, why is there no EFI 1.5 update for BootROM MBP22.00A5.B07?

I'm still experiencing the problem that apparently the EFI 1.4 update corrupted the display (flickery blue pixels) when using Windows or Linux via Boot Camp. I found this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1318149&tstart=15 about the problem, and finally it seems that the EFI 1.5 update fixed this issue for many people.
Unfortunately, I have a Late 2006 MacBook Pro with a ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 128MB SDRAM graphic card. The EFI update tells me that my computer does not need this update, so I'm still stuck with the 1.4 version.
Now, here we are in June 2008, and I get the feeling that Apple has "forgotten" fixing this problem also for the late 2006 models. Does any of you have more information about this? Will there finally be a firmware update for my MacBook Pro?

I can confirm that the issue was at it's most noticeable moving the cursor over iPhoto events too.
Also that connecting it to the mains seemed to fix it, and disconnecting it would appear again.
Just set the sleep to Quick using the Deep Sleep widget, and it seems OK so far.
Not sure if I'm getting too picky, but the display does still go slightly off / fuzzy when scrolling - noticeable in Safari at least - eg black text on a white background. The text doesn't break, but when you scroll, I guess the best way to describe it is as though there's some pressure on the text, and it kind of resists the direction of travel slightly.
Not sure now if this is normal, and it hadn't bugged me before, but only is now because of the more serious issues?

It's known that Nokia Belle FP1 is available only for Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 (and newer phones as well). Those devices that won't get the FP1 update are named '1st gen. S^3 devices' for all I know. That's what makes me say that Nokia 500 is a first generation S^3 device - because no massive updates will be available for it anymore.
