I really need a new iPod this fall, I can't wait until next year(if that's when it will be refreshed). Please tell me a new one will come out this fall.

Sorry for disappointing but a new ipod will not be out this fall as ipod 5g has already been launched few months back so you gotta wait for sometime

It's almost certain there will be an new iPod touch coming. I doubt very much that they have stopped developing and discontinued the iPod touch with the existing models.
The question is "when?", and no-one outside Apple knows that.

Almost all 60GB 5G video ipod owners are having problems with video playback (freezes after 30 sec) using the new ipod software update 1.1. I had this problem also so I downgraded to the original software 1.0 however I am looking to purchase a radio remote that they just came out with but it requires this new upgrade to have the radio option on the ipod. So my question is: Will there be a new update that will fix this bug so that I can use BOTH the radio remote and be able to play videos back without the freezing (the 1.0 software plays video perfect, 1.1 makes videos freeze). It seems like apple is aware of this problem and has not released a new update to accomodate its customers as of yet. Is this in the works (if so how soon should we expect it?) or do they plan on just screwing its customers over who don't own itunes purchased videos or those converted using their quicktime pro? If thats the case I think theyre being unreasonable and unfair. Thanks a lot for any helpful response you may have!

Your problem is with your choice of conversion software and the profile it uses. There is nothing wrong with the IPOD last update. To my knowledge, Apple never stated they could or would support the many flimflam conversion software makers out to make a quick buck. I had my 30 and 60 Gb 3 days after they hit the market. Both play all types of video files converted using the MPEG Simple Profile. I use industry proven software and not "Freeware" spliced together. I have proved this point many times over the past few months to IPOD owners reporting this problem. Why do my files play and theirs don't? Well on Feb 24, I gave access to my server to download videos converted properly to IPOD owners via another website. My server went to 100% load within the first half hour. Over 6,000 files were downloaded within 1 hour. No one to date via the link I posted, reported any problems playing the files on the 1.1 IPOD Update. Many thanked me for the effort. I don't make my servers directly available to the public as routine, but was convinced this public test would put an end to the many complaints. In addition, over 60 individuals sent me files converted by software that they use or purchased. Of the 60 files 12 were just plain corrupted and the remianing 48 files revealed that the audio and video was not in compliance with the IPODs hardware specifications. I am 100% certain that Apple is aware of the complaints concerning this issue. So what do you expect them to do, fix their hardware or make the software makers fix theirs?
I have and tested the following devices. All have a mix of different video standards.
IPOD 30 and 60g
Creative Zen and Zen Vision M:
Archos Gmini 402, AV 500 and AV 700
iRiver PMC-120 and just received the "New" U10
iStation V43
Cowan A2

My daughter wants me to get her an IPOD Touch and I was wondering, with the release of the new IPHONE and the new 4 operating system, if Apple is planning to release a new IPOD Touch soon? If so are there any links to learn more about it?

Probably. I noticed that when they update the iPhone in the spring/summer, they usually release a new iPod Touch in the fall. And generally when they release a new iOS, they will release a new iPod Touch. At least an iPod Touch that already comes with iOS4. And also when you see a lot of current generation iPod Touches in the refurbished section of the Online Apple Store, they are going to release a new iPod Touch soon.

Am thinking of buying a new classic but have seen that the nano, shuffle etc have just been upgraded. Are there any plans or expectation that the classic will be refreshed soon too?

I'm unable to sync my contacts with the new iPhone 5 and my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

I previously had an iPhone 4 synced and paired with my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and had no issues. Now I have a new iPhone 5 and am able to sync the phone but the contacts will not update in the phone book listing for the vehicle. I've tried several times to re-sync and pair the phone to the vehicle and still the same issue. I'm able to make an receive calls but no contact information is being displayed. From all of the previous community issues reported it's not an AT&T issue, Hyundai issue, it's clearly pointing at the device (iPhone 5) being the issue.
Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

Thanks for your response. However, after speaking with a level 2 Apple Advisor and Hyundai there is an issue that both companies are aware of and are working towards a resolution. Here's a blurb from Hyundai that was sent to me after I spoke with Apple Advisor:
"We apologize for any inconvenience associated with the technical issues with devices connected via Bluetooth. Hyundai is aware of the iPhone losing its Bluetooth connection to the vehicle along with any function associated with it at the time. Hyundai has been able to reproduce the concern in our test vehicles and have sent all necessary information to Apple engineers. Hyundai received confirmation from Apple that they will work on debugging.
If your iPhone is 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and has one of the following iOS: 6.0, 6.1.0, 6.1.1, 6.1.2, 6.1.3, 6.1.4 or higher, you may be affected." - Hyundai Engineering

Is it safe to buy a new iMac this fall?

I have an iMac G5 (PowerPC) and it still works great. But some apps are starting to be created that don't work on PowerPC processors. I'm thinking of buying a new iMac this fall, but I'm afraid that Apple will put out a new iMac with a new Processor architecture very soon after, which would render my newly purchased iMac obsolete in a few short years.
Does anyone know when the next new Processor architecture is due? If it's soon, I'd like to wait until it's introduced before I buy a new Mac. Thanks!!!

Yes, that's an excellent point. The only reason I'm thinking of it now is because I recently bought an e-reader, whose desktop app doesn't work with PowerPC Macs. I plan on using my e-reader much more in the coming months so I'm not sure what to do. I may just bite the bullet and get a new iMac when Mountain Lion is released.

I've been stuck before when I bought TCS, then tried to upgrade just Captivate when v4 was released, and couldn't do it. Took months to get my money back for the CS4 download.
Seems that anyone who buys a suite gets penalized for it. Surely it's in Adobe's best interest to upgrade users who invested in the more expensive product?
