Will there be a Windows version of Oracle Content DB?

If so, approximately when will it be made available?

Yes we will be releasing a Windows version. In terms of approximate time frames we cannot answer this at this stage - it really will depend on our certification team and I have not heard the dates.
In theory it should be possible to run a mixed configuration with Database (store) on Windows, and Content DB tier on Linux until such time that the Windows CDB release is made available.

i seatch for such database file in oracle ? And why would you expect Oracle to have the same file(s) as some other product?
Oracle implements it's databases with multiple data files, not just one. And that's in addition to all of the various files that make up the software, apart from any databases.
You definately do not want to put the database files under ORACLE_HOME. If you have any choice at all, I wouldn't even want them on the same partition. A default installation and db creation may try to put them there simply because that is the one directory structure oracle can count on being there. But that is one default that is far from best practice.
The minimum partition configuration I'd want for a Windows server hosting an Oracle database is ....
    c:\ - operating system only
d:\ - Oracle home, admin, and one set of all duplexed files (control, redo)
e:\ - all other database files
For the 'sandbox' setup on my personal laptop, where I only have a c: drive, I still break it out ...
    c:\oracle\app\product\10.2.0 <-- Oracle Home
    c:\ora1\mysid\ <--- some data files
    c:\ora2\mysid\ <--- some data files
    c:\ora3\mysid\ <--- some data files
Take a look at this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A97297_01/appg_ofa.htm
It is out of the 9i docs, and is directed to unix, but if you will read and understand the principles it is a good guide even for Windows. You can also google "optimal flexible architecture" and get lot's of other docs.
I dare say that at this point It would be a good investment in your career to go to tahiti.oracle.com. Drill down to your product and version. There you will find the complete doc library.
You should spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there. Learning where to look things up in the documentation is time well spent on your career.
Read the 2-Day DBA manual cover to cover.
Notice the 'search' function at that site.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
    - Look in your alert log and find all the non-default initialization parms listed at instance startup. Then read up on each one of them in the Reference Manual. Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files, then look up what you see there in the network administrators manual.

  • Is there a 32-bit version of Oracle 8i for HP-UX?

Is there a 32 bit version of Oracle 8i for HP-UX?
    I have an HP 9000 K580 server with HP-UX 11.0 installed - 32-bit.
The 64 bit version of 8i does not install correctly - has errors with the linking process... with libnss.
    Thanks!

Hi. If you will check the product lifecycle area on Metalink you will find that there will be no Oracle9i 32 bit for HP-UX or AIX. There is a document there that basically says these platforms will no longer be supported as part of Oracle's strategy to keep current with all the hardware vendors moving to 64 bit.

  • Adobe Camera Raw for Nilon D800 / when will there be a final version?

    Dear Adobe,
I downloaded the beta version of ACR 6.7 to have a driver for the new Nikon D800. I installed it and got the message that this version espires some time soon.
When will there be the final version out? Is there already a date for it?

There is no publically announced release date....Adobe doesn't do that. But rest assured the beta will run and the GM release will happen before the end of the beta date.

hello! Could you tell me will there be a new version  of a monoblok Apple imac in 2012  will it be sensory ?
привет! Не могли бы вы сказать мне, будет ли новая версия IMAC Monoblok компании Apple в 2012 году это будет сенсорный?

No one has any idea what new products Apple may release except Apple themselves and they have not made any announcements.
Никто не имеет ни малейшего представления, какие новые продукты Apple,может выпустить Apple, кроме себя, и они не сделали ни одного объявления.

I disagree. While of course I'd love a native Mac version, if
it's only a processor-intensive app (as opposed to relying on
DirectX) it could probably be made to work under Parallels or
VMware (getting the Firewire interface is the hurdle, I think).
We'll be looking into that route after our next event.
Intel-based macs have been out a while now. If you really
need to do streaming, I don't think it's too much to ask to get a
cheap x86 box with a firewire card. The system requirements aren't
    even that steep.
And, it's a free product (not always true, I think)! That
dampens issues I would speak about. If I had to pay, I'd be more

  • Will there be a lighter version of FF4 for XP users?

I have tried Firefox 4, and it crushes everytime I close it, I agree it is faster, but the rest of my PC is much slower. It is also very greedy in terms of resources, and often crushes when I have several tabs open. I'm back to the older version of FF (3.6.17); I'm currently using WinXP.
Will there be a lighter version of FF4 for XP users?
    Thank you.

No, Firefox 4 is finished. Other than security updates that's all there is of Firefox 4. Firefox 5 is slated for a June release.
I'm having no such problems with WinXP on an AMD64 2.2GHz processor with 2GB RAM. How does your hardware measure up?
Have you tried a fresh Profile?

  • Will there ever be a version beyond 4.7 of Flash Builder?

I'm sorry if this sounds snippy but I am primarily a flex developer on the front end and c# on the backend. I have been waiting patiently for adobe to put out some news about an update to flash builder but haven't heard anything in the last couple of years. The last thing was the flash "roadmap" and that only says that Adobe will continue to support flash builder.
So, since there is no way to get in touch with anyone at adobe I'm posting here.
ADOBE, TELL US WHAT THE PLAN IS!!!
I am currently faced with a decision whether to continue with flex at all and in the absence of any news from Adobe I may have to quit my creative cloud subscription and go with Xamarin. While more expensive it also provides much more native functionality than flex and it isn't perpetually a rev behind. I also can use visual studio for tooling so I won't be waiting for and putting up with the shortcomings of an IDE that is never updated.
If Adobe cares to retain customers that are flex centric and not using flash pro to make games, they need to explain what the plan for the tool chain is. Otherwise guys like me who have been over a decade into flash platform will just leave.

This really doesnt make much sense.
My question is will there be a version beyond 4.7. To say you have to choose between flash pro and flash bulder is silly, I chose flash builder when it was flex builder v1, now I expect some support and upgrades/updates or a statement that it will not be supported. I PAY adobe for the right to this information. If they no longer see me as a customer, then I will stop being a customer.
And, to say its FB 4.7 is perfect is ridiculous, especially since many people such as jbenker, have many problems with stability on newer operating systems.

  • Will there be a Windows OS Tablet

There are already windows based tablets for months now.

  • Will there be a Swedish version of Siri? When?

Will there ever be a swedish speaking Siri and will it work on the 4s or do I have to wait for iPhone 5?

    http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/siri-faq.html
Right now Siri is only available in English, French, and German.
I'm not sure as to whethere they will include other languages in a future update but that sounds plausible.
If not they will most likely include it in the iPhone 5.

  • Will there be a Windows Server Next Essentials Version?

I am trying to plan our IT budget for the coming year and those of my clients.  I have already prepared that there will be a new version of Exchange to install and manage, but I cannot seem to find any information as to whether or not there will be
a Windows Server Next Essentials Version available.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated (pricing would be WONDERFUL)
    Thanks,
    Bob Hessenauer

    Hi Bob:
Nothing is known at this time and nothing will be known until Microsoft makes it known.  I think if I were in your position I would plan on Server because, and this is a biggie:   If you are going to have Exchange you will need two servers
and Server gives you that for the cost of one license.  Or at least it does now.  As I just said, nothing is known until MS makes it known.  <g>.

  • Will there be another iOS version that will fix the iOS 5.0.1 problems ?

I accidentally updated my iPod Touch 4G from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5.0.1 and I want to know if there will be a newest version of iOS and when ?
Thank you all for answer !

It's always nice when you mark an additional information post as the solution to your problem!
The effect of this is to stop those who might have solutions from even looking at your thread as well as causing others expecting a solution here to waste their time on this thread.
For what it's worth I haven't had any problems with battery life on my iPod 3Gen with iOS 5.0.1. If any thing it's better than previously.
By the way how does one "accidentally" update an iPod Touch to iOS 5.0.1?

  • Looking to buy a new mac pro will there be a i7 version?

I have an iMac 24" and looking to get a mac Pro as my needs have changed.
I have compared an iMac and 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor ( two (friends) side by side and I have to say there is nothing in it, my initial thoughts were the Imac has better graphics and seems faster using Photoshop and final cut.
Does anyone know if they will make a i7 version (non xeon) and if the price will drop as the Mac pro seems to be so very expensive since the introduction of the i7 Imac in the region of £800 I'd say.

    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/mac_pro
No, Mac Pro = Xeon, and there is quad 3.3GHz BTO $1200 extra.
You were looking at 2009 Mac Pro? sounds like 2006-7 model possibly.
Whether you need more hard drives and memory then an iMac Core i5 is up to you.
