Will there be nullable primitve type support in actionscript any time soon?

A lot of times there is just a serious need to have a
nullable column in a DB because it is important to denote a not-set
value. Passing in 0 to that field from the code layer because the
programming language just can't natively support a nullable int is
not a good thing. Now, I have to keep track of special values for
each and every column that is nullable but equates to a
non-nullable primitive type in the programming language that passes
column values in. This create a ton of overhead on the programming
side as well as the GUI side (because the GUI classes like a
textbox don't have the concept of an unset value)...
.NET 2.0 fixes this very nicely and I am hoping that
Actionscript 4.0 will, too...
In the mean time is there an elegant and simple way to
program around this?

hi mjpettitt, i don't know enough about the particulars of your question to give a definite answer. however firefox is a webbrowser that aims to be standards compliant - it renders html an not any proprietary formats. so the long term "solution" of this problem would probably be for Captivate to generate output that complies with web standards...

is there going to be an increase in speed any time soon ?

    Hi ghostzz
As said in your previous post here (http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/fttp-fttp-in-Edinburgh/m-p/1076720/highlight/true#M116509 ) there will probably be no improvement to the Openreach FTTC fibre infrastructure soon, though if ISPs take up the FTTPoD service and your exchange is FTTPoD enabled then you maybe able to pay for FTTP to be installed to your property. Though at the moment FTTPoD have not been taken up by any ISPs/CPs.
Also the upto 76mbps is an UP To figure. This will be dependent on your line quality and how long your line is between your property and your FTTC dslam cabinet.
There are also other limitation which can effect the sync and througput speed.

  • Is there an official Rugby World Cup App for iPhone coming any time soon?

Is there an official Rugby World Cup App for iPhone coming any time soon?

Its good to know that I am not the only one left wondering about this!
I expected the RWC 2011 website to post some information regarding this, though it appears they have something set up with Blackberry already.
I'm holding out, hoping that an official app will come along, but some of the non-official ones seem quite decent.
There seems to be a real lack of iDevice and Andriod official services/support for this RWC, which is a real shame because this would be the first RWC where you could combine the sport with great technology and communications.
To me it appears the organizers missed a great oppertuinity or suck at planning/promoting.
An iPhone/iPad official app would be fantastic!

  • Will there be an update that supports iOS 4.2.1?

I have an iPod touch 2nd generation (not jailbroken), and I was curious as to if there will be an update for GarageBand that will support iOS 4.2.1, because I am a music maker, and plus I already bought GarageBand before discovering it doesn't work, so I don't want to end up having wasted five dollars on something that won't work with my device.

Survey Not as iOS 4.x and Old idevices are end of Life'd by Apple.
Even if they did : oder iPods are totally underpowered for this App. I Owen the 2011 Model and Even there it offen Shows the Waiting Screen "optimizing Performance" ( which is : freeing Memory ) .

  • When will there be Nikon D4s RAW Support

    ?

She has forked out £5K for the Nikon D4s (which has been pointed out has RAW support from Adobe) but she uses Aperture which doesn't. So a £5k camera is sitting idle because Apple don't support it.
Is this right? You tell me.
I am sure, Apple is working on the raw support for a new flagship professional Nikon camera. They can only start to work on the raw support, after the camera has been released, so it usually takes a few months, i.e., when the camera differs considerably from the predecessor.
Your client has several options, while waiting:
Shoot raw&jpeg and use the jpegs as original files, until the raw support will be available; later she can switch to the raw originals.
Use the software that came with the camera to develope the raw and convert them to another lossless format, e.g.TIFF.
Work with Nikon's software for the time being.

  • Will there be a fix for Blackboard any time soon?

blackboard is an already touchy program and while I don't know what the problems are with the new update and the board but to have our Tech Support post a Notice every time you log in to NOT update to the new versions of firefox or IE within hours of the release means its pretty bad. I've asked ff to stop asking me to update but every time I open up the program it ask anyway so now I'm getting to the point where I'm anxious for a fix to stop this problem and some others as well.
Read that there's not a time line for the fix but is it going to be soon?

Internet Explorer 9 & Firefox 4 browsers are not compatible with Maricopa's Blackboard and may cause problems when trying to submit exams, tests and assignments. '''bold text'''

Blackboard / WebCT is very careful about their programs being compatible with popular web browsers, they test which browsers work with specific versions of their programs. One thing they never seem to do is to make changes to their programs or update them during a school term ''(IE9 and Firefox 4 were both released in April - like mid-term)''. It seems to me that all changes to their programs are done during June, July, and August, and are then rolled out for the fall term. Whatever they "certify" as being compatible is then a "well seasoned" browser, with few surprises for them.
IMO, a smart way to operate. ''Plus, how you you "collect" for the updates when a contract already exists for the term or school year?''

Look under Supported Browsers for the version of Firefox that is supported for the version of Vista or Campus Edition your school uses. That information should be posted at the bottom of most Blackboard / WebCT pages.
If you just "gotta have" the latest version of Firefox, you should install the proper version of Portable Firefox for your Blackboard / WebCT version used at your school. Portable Firefox will install completely into its' own folder set in Program Files and it won't affect or interact with the regular Firefox installation, like having two different "regular" version would.

Scroll down that page for Legacy Versions. Just install it to your hard drive or a USB key.

  • Will there be a hd dvd drive for the mac anytime soon?

is there going to be a hd dvd drive for th emac anytime soon? or will the release a firmware update possibly?....also can I use the x-box 360's hd drive with my powermac to watch hd movies

    Hi Parker,
Some friendly advice.. if you're just after points, or if you actually ask for them, perhaps you're looking at the purpose of these boards incorrectly. The boards are here to help fellow users of Apple products. The points are a nice reward, but they are optional. Mellow out and accept that you won't get points for every answer.
In this specific case, your first response was quite accurate and helpful, but the rest, in my opinion, were incorrect and based on insufficient knowledge of the subject. Additionally, in speculating about future Apple hardware releases, you may have actually breached the terms and conditions of use for these boards.
Just something to keep an eye on.

  • Will there be a fix for the Note 3 signal issues any time soon?

I have a Note 3 and I am absolutely furious at Verizon. I previously had a Galaxy S4 and after an update it basically became useless in my home. It was working just fine then one day it is a brick basically. Verizon knew about the issue as the know about the Note 3 issue and refuse to do anything but pretend nothing is wrong. I got the Note 3 due to the S4 issues, and wouldn't you know, after a month or so the Note 3 is doing the EXACT same thing. Signal was NEVER a problem in my home, but now I drop calls and have very little service 90% of the time.
Does anyone have any advice to me as to how to handle this? My experience at a corporate store consisted of being told I could BUY a network extended.... I already pay for a service I currently don't receive. I don't see why Verizon can't admit to the issue.

I hate to say Me too but "ME TOO" .  The last update srewed up our phones and now the new update is out but Verizon wont give it to us...   Sprint got it last week!

  • Will Mozilla fire fox be available in the App Store any time soon ?

Will the app Mozilla fire fox be available in the App Store so we can open flash player required pages ?

No one here can say really, only Mozzilla themselves if and when they give in to Apple's requirements, or Apple gives in to their demand of using their web engine rather than Apple's.
With that said, the Flash problem is not the browser its the lack of a Mobile version of Flash for iOS. Even with FF you would not be able to open flash sites.
There are however other browsers with varying support for Flash processing that you can use to open flash content.
Look for Puffin, Skyfire, Photon etc...
Most of these process the requested flash content at their servers and feed it back to the device in a format that the iPad can understand, which slows performance a bit.

  • Support for Outlook email coming any time soon?

I have heard rumours that Apple is working on a solution for all the Microsoft Outlook email business users. Does anyone have any more concrete information on this and an estimate to when this could happen?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BlackBerry does not decide what apps, of the millions out there, will be compatible with it's devices. Rather, the app developers choose, for their app, which devices they will support. Hence, the place to make your inquiry is with the developer of the app...to find out when/if they plan to support your specific BB model and OS level.
    Good luck!

  • Now that Android will shoot in .dng, think we can expect LR for Android any time soon?

This really got me excited after Google IO! How they will open the camera to the developers, giving the camera full manual control. And raw support! The fact that I can potentially fit my camera and my entire workflow in my pocket just boggles my mind!
Just one last obstacle though: software. I haven't used LR mobile, but if it has anywhere near the same features as the desktop version, I can't wait to get my hands on it!
All I've heard from Adobe is "We will look at Android support down the line", so same old same old as an Android user there
Anyone know of some new comments on this? Or if Adobe has commented at all?

I've not used this myself, but I have a New iPad 3 on order (waiting for a black one) and will be making it one of my first apps.

  • Will Firefox engineers any time soon be making Firefox adequate to handle youtube videos?

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/793093]''
Often Firefox won't allow a video to play smoothly. There will be pauses and breaks in the playing of youtube videos. Also, often Firefox won't respond to an attempt to stop the video to make it pause.

Norton released updates for Firefox 14 early this morning. Norton usually releases updates on the same morning as new Firefox versions.

  • Will there be a carrier profile update for T-Mobile on the iPhone 5?

Will there be a carrier update any time soon for T-Mobile on the iPhone 5?

    DevilNURO wrote:
    Prove it.
from the very link you yourself provided:
"T-Mobile's iPhone 5 shares the same model number (A1428) as the version that other GSM carriers sell. This is important because the T-Mobile iPhone 5 can connect to the carrier's existing HSPA+ 42 network, but the current iPhone 5 can't. Support also can't be enabled via a software update, Apple says.
However, after April 14 when the T-Mobile iPhone 5 goes on sale, all GSM iPhones will have the radio technology to connect to T-Mobile's 4G network. That means if you buy and AT&T or unlocked iPhone 5 after that date, and you end up on T-Mobile's network, you won't get the abysmal 2G data rates of the carrier's EDGE network (which you may remember from iPhone 1)."

    Hi Krish,
Go to Tcode: WE30 and do a F4 on the Obj. Name field this will list all the IDOC Types supported by SAP, to get more information go to WE60(you could do a F4 here too - against Basic Type) and use the IDOC Type to read the documentation for the same.
