Will there be update to Mac OS X 10.4.11?

Anyone know if there will be any more updates available for Mac OS X Tiger?

Or its cousin, the Dodo?!
Let's hope there's some nice send-off present for the valiant Tiger 10.4.11
perhaps hidden in a crafted security update package, so some of the old
Mac hardware best left with Tiger, will have something to sustain them.
There are a few bits and pieces to help the Tiger system work better and
complete tasks; those newer Flash & Shockwave plugin players, as well
as others that can help add features; even some freeware such WMV
players like Flip4Mac or Perian, to help QuickTime do a few other things.
To me, the best recycling is a continued use of quality products that have
an inherent serviceability and an easy, joyful, sense of purpose.
{And there are some good deals online at the Apple Store; in new and/or
the special deals section... They are fairly recent in hardware & software.}
Good luck & happy computing!

Make sure your Mac qualifies to upgrade to Mountain Lion >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo) reinstalls the App Store for you which may help the product distribution error.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installled. It's ok to do this even though your Mac already has v10.7.5 installed.
    Then try downloading Mountain Lion.
FYI ... For downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You may also need to temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.

Nobody here has any knowledge of what Apple may or may not include in future updates.

  • Moving from Creative Cloud to retail software. Will there be updates offered?

The company and I will be leaving the Creative Cloud in the next few days. When Adobe has stabilized the "cloud" and can offer a stable platform we will try again, but right now, from a business stand point, there are just too many "glitches" with the system. The software Ps/Dw/Lr/Pr/Il and Acrobat seem to work fine so we will be upgrading our individual copies of those.
There have been rumors from customers, Adobe Experts and Adobe customer service that retail software, meaning software purchased individually and not as part of the cloud will not be receiving updates and only the software from the "cloud" will receive these updates. I'm not talking about UPGRADES I'm taking about updates and bug fixes.
Can an Adobe rep either confirm or deny these rumors, please? Can I get a link to Adobe's official policy on this please? The Customer Service people I've talked to so far do not know what the policy is and it seems that they cannot find out the policy. Speaking with "people in the know" at the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, they are also unable to provide a definitive answer on this policy.
Since Adobe's current policy concerning the cloud allows individuals to cancel before 30 days; if cancelling the cloud after 30 days Adobe will still collect 50% of the yearly subscription, I think it is only reasonable for Adobe to be forth coming with this answer prior to May 8, 2012.

I cannot offer you the precise, official, definitive answers or links you're seeking but my layman's understanding of Cloud vs perpetual licensed products is that both will receive bug fixes and security updates (dot releases) when available.
However Cloud customers will have access to new or improved software features earlier than perpetual licensed customers. Perpetually licensed customers will wait until CS7.

  • I purchased Creative Suite 5.5 two years ago and never installed it.  Can I now load this on either a new Mac or PC?  Will there be updates available for this software?

I purchased an upgrade version of  Creative Suite 5.5 two years ago, but never installed it on my PC.  I plan to purchase either a new Mac or PC soon.  Will I be able to load this upgrade 5.5 on my new computer and get existing updates?

You will have to install it on the same type of platform for which you originally purchased it... Windows or Mac... suites are platform specific, and CS5.5 is not eligible for a platform swap.  Whatever updates exist for CS5.5 will be available to you, but it is not likely that there will be more produced.

  • When Will There Be Updated Support For Blu Ray Authoring????? Good Question

    Hi
What is the Hold up for Blu Ray Technology? Why is Apple dragging their feet for our great Macs to produce Blu Ray Hd authored DVDs when the windows is already ahead? I dont dont understand it, does anybody have a clue? , Ha!Ha! your secret agent news would be welcomed! Happy Editing!
    Tim C.

Some rumors have been saying it will be available in the next release of Studio (FCP 6). Rumors say they are debuting this during NAB (April 16 ish). There are also rumors of FCP Extreme for about $10K per license, but I'll let you have fun thinking about that one

  • Will Apple be updating the Mac Pro with updated graphic cards such as the Nvidia GTX 680?

Hey Apple! And a big Hello to the Apple community!
I'm looking to buy my first Mac Pro and i'm very excited about it!
I haven't bought it yet because i'm waiting for Apple to upgrade their current graphics cards that are available in the current line up.
The ATI Radeon HD 5770 or the ATI Radeon HD 5870. Altough they are very good graphic cards, I feel that they are very outdated.
Would there be any chance of Apple upgrading their current line up to Nvidia GTX 680?
    Thanks again in advance!

    Hope springs eternal:
    GTX5xx GPUs
    GTX580 3GB running in 10.7.3.
Card shows EFI boot screens on either DVI port.
Also have GTX560 going. Will announce GTX570 separately.
Requires external PSU, but this GTX580 kicks AMD/ATI 5870 to curb, leaves for dead, and never looks back.

  • Is the windows PDA sync software officially released yet (out of beta) and is there or will there ever be a MAC version?

I've just tried to get PC Suite version 6.86.9.3 to recognise my Nokia 6220 classic on my Mac by running it on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 by way of Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2, and it's bad news.
PC Suite installs & runs fine, but when it comes time to connect the phone, despite selecting PC Suite mode on the phone when I plug the cable in, the software just can't see the phone. This doesn't surprise me, given that the phone isn't connected to a real PC USB port - it's merely connected to a Mac USB port masquerading as a "virtual" PC USB port.
Plan B involves borrowing my Dad's PC laptop & making a back-up using that.
My Mac is an old model that can't run Windows software natively. Current Macs can though, so eventually when I get a new Mac I'm sure PC Suite will see my phone perfectly.
I would have bought an iPhone 3G instead of the Nokia (which obviously wouldn't have given me the compatibility problems) but the iPhone only has a 2 MP camera, has no flash, won't record video & can't send or receive picture messages. Hopefully a future iPhone will have as good a spec for imaging as the 6220 classic, but that's probably a long way off.

Hi, I just updated my mac from version10.6 to 10.9.3 os mavericks. i went to open iPhoto and it says "Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade." does this mean I have lost all photos i had in there? It does not give me a choice, it just says quit or upgrade? p.s. i didn't realise ther was  a way to back up my computer beforehand, which i am guessing this is time machine?

    1. No, you haven't.
    2. Back up the iPhoto library(this can be done through Time Machine or by dragging it to a drive, partition, or disk image formatted as Mac OS Extended) and then click Upgrade.
    3. Aside from Time Machine and drag-copying items from your home folder, programs such as the Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, and SuperDuper can make backups.

Is there a update for Photoshop Elements 8 that will support raw files from a Canon T3i 600d?

    You have two alternatives:
    (1) Upgrade to PSE 9,10 or 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.3
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.3
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

Also, I have the 08 version of iWork. Will this cause problems for the update?  Can I update this AFTER I update the processor?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There's no reason to think that Mountain Lion will slow down your Mac. Just make a backup of your data before upgrading with Time Machine > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
Also, check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com Upgrade them to a compatible version or delete them before upgrading.
The external drive won't make the OS X Mountain Lion installer fail, but it's better to unplug it during the upgrade.
iWork '08 is compatible with Mountain Lion. iWork '09 includes OS X Mountain Lion features and can be purchased at the Mac App Store.
To upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion, I recommend at least 4 GB of RAM. You can check how much memory you have in Apple menu > About this Mac
