Bad idea. There are no supported iPhone carriers in Iceland, thus some features may or may not work. Further, there will be no warranty or support for a US purchased iPhone in Iceland...your friend will be on their own. If you still want to go down this road, make sure you purchase an officially unlocked iPhone(GSM model) directly from Apple.

Remember though, that although you have warranty on this phone, it is only valid in India and NOT Canada, because you purchased the phone in India and iPhone warranty is country specific, so if you have problems with the phone, then you'll need to take it back to India to get it fixed.
If you will be in Canada for any length of time, then buy a new phone in Canada. It will be guaranteed to work then and you will also have warranty cover.

Most CDMA phones will only work on the network they are branded to. The carriers usually do not allow other brands of phones on their cdma networks.

Yes but I have brought the A1429 where as the information you provided states that it's the A1428.

WAP4410N - Will these ever work properly?

I have owned one of these for about 2 years now, and have sold many of these to clients. Luckily, none of them get used too much as they require constant rebooting, and it would appear as though all versions of the firmware are unreliable. Some simply don't work, other work for a day or two at a time between reboots.
Does anyone have a solution to getting these to work properly? When I say properly, I mean, you turn it on, configure it and then use it. That's it. No rebooting, not even once a year.
Anyone?

I have 3 x WAP4410N and had lots of issues. Now they are stable. I think it's the settings below in BOLD that count.
But I did first reset the unit to factory settings; upgrade firmware; restart; and then enter all settings MANUALLY. All as per Cisco instructions. Do not just install the fw over the old fw; and do not import your settings. But I don't think any of this made any difference, but do it anyway for sure.
Here is my config. Anything not mentioned has not been enabled. Settings in BOLD are important I think - and are settings folks have mentioned that have solved issues for them. YMMV.

You can run all of these GREAT without using Bootcamp. Get Parallels, load XP in there and load the apps. I do this with Dreamweaver and it runs GREAT in Parallels.. then there's no need to reboot into windows.. you can run it as a virtual machine in OSX.
I'm not going to try and lecture you on your illegal copies of the apps but do me a favor and actually buy Parallels.. it's only like $40 and it'll encourage them to keeep up development (no I'm not associated with them).

You can get native versions of these two to run on the Intel Macs... actually I think Limewire doesn't have a native version, but the PPC version runs just fine under Rosetta.

Unfortunatley it will not work anywhere outside of AT&T and its roaming partners. You must have an account with AT&T and the corresponding multiyear contract. The problem is that in the US and Canada and many other countries (though not all) the network providers are really in the business of selling phones. They get exclusive distribution contracts with the phone suppliers then they modify (break) the phone so that it will only work on thier network. On top of this they will only offer locked in multiyear contracts to get access. So althought some governements are forcing cell phone companies to faciliate number transfer if you switch, they have done nothing about the restrcitive network access policies which are a much bigger problem.
Imagine if your ISP forced you to buy a computer from them, made you sign up to a multiyear contract, then disabled the computer from working with any other ISP. That is essentially what they are doing.
OK in some cases the multiyear contracts do cross subsidise the phone cost, but at $600 I don't see allot of subsidisation going on here. What I see is colusion and predatory behavior.
I'm disgusted that apple is helping to perpetuate this model. I should be able to buy whatever phone I want, from wherever I want and connect to whatever compatible network I want.

If the phone is unlocked, you can use it with a GSM carrier here - most likely T-Mobile or AT&T. You probably won't get 4G/LTE but 3G should work fine.

Now, sometimes reports like this are "false hits" but we have to take them seriously.
What it is describing is that it found a PDF infected with a virus. This is bad. There are several ways to sort this out, and I'll come back to that.
What it isn't saying is "old PDFs bad" or "new PDFs good". What it does say is "
This malware exploits known vulnerabilities in Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Reader. Install the updates available from the vendor so that your software is no longer affected by these vulnerabilities." Following more links, this is a problem fixed in 2010, by version 9.3.1.
So...if your software is more recent than this, then the files won't hurt you.
But... resaving files in the newest Acrobat won't (so far as I know) get rid of the problem just like that. So, how to fix the problem. It's a little hard to be certain in some cases because the details of the problem aren't widely shared, to keep more bad guys from doing worse things.
* You can let an antivirus fix it, if it is able to fix it.
* You can remake the PDF from the source file
* I think there is a very good chance that printing the PDF to the Distiller printer will remove the virus, but I can't guarantee it.
