Will these three other pieces work well together with MSI GeForce 6800 GT 256 ?

Hello  :hypecrite:
I have ordered myself some new stuff ,and maybe a little late to ask for answers ,but ...
Wondering if my VGA : MSI Ge Force 6800 GT 256 which I will recieve tomorrow will work well with the following which are soon coming:
*Corsair Value Select VS1GBKIT400 ; PC3200 1024
*CPU AMD 3200 + 2.2 GHz
*Motherboard MSI K8N Neo Platinum
t
If PSU is needed : Thermaltake Silent Purepower Polo12 W0032R - 410 W ;+ 3,3 , -/+ 5 V , -/+ 12 V.

I've got same Mobo and VGA. At the moment it seems to be not possible to oc the VGA stable higher than 400/1100 with fastwrites enabled (i've allready done vmod to 1.4V, without it freezed even at 360/1020). First i thought it was a VGA bios issue, but after some tests with different bios versions i think it's a driver problem (forceware or maybe nforce or both). Hope nvidia will fix this soon.

    Hello, no ice.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
As long as you purchase the GSM model and acquire a Nano-SIM card, you should be able to use your iPad abroad.  Here is some information about this process that you may find helpful.

  • Do Reason and GB2 work well together? What are the benefits & limitations?

I was reading on the propellerhead web site that GB2 supports Reason. I am completely green on both these programs.
Reason by itself seems pretty neat, and I can see a bunch of areas where Reason will compliment GB2.
Do any of you out there currently use both these programs in conjunction with one another. If so what are your likes and dislikes. Do you have any tips or basic knowledge I should be aware of before diving in?
    Thank you.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Edit: oops, posted in wrong thread. hang on.
Alright: so all I use is Reason 3 and GB2. What I love about Reason is that there are soo many Refills out there. I only have about 15 or 20 of them, but I love each one.
I make many different genres of music on my own, including grind, folk, hip-hop, experimental, and some progressive jazz. I always use Reason for drums (not loops, I create the beats myself with the Redrum Computer) and then I'll mix it up between Garageband and Reason with the instruments.
my myspace music has some good examples. "The Green Door" is all Reason except the Star Wars quotes which were added in GB. "38 seconds of test" is just Reason drumming, and then I mic'd my guitar amp, and acoustic guitar in garageband.
Anyway, I think Reason and Garageband work wonderfully together. But then again, I've never used Pro Tools or any of that stuff, so I'm sure someone else could tell you a million reasons why they think another duo is better.

  • ICloud Mail & Contacts don't work well together?

I have iCloud activated for Mail and Contacts. Now, when in Mail and I try to address an email, the address book shows up but none of the sub address books show up.  How do I get them populated?  Do I have to go back to syncing with MobileMe?

this is not a bug - but you're right its a serious problem.
The same happens on Linux/NVidia too igf I force antialiasing and use the OGL pipeline.
This happens because java tries to accerlate some graphic opeerations with DirectX or OpenGL and it simply wants the graphic-card to render the stuff it sends the graphic card.
However with AA turned on you graphic card tries to optimize the data coming from java which is nonsence since the AA was designed for games.
So basically its neither java's fault nore the dirvers one.
Both work as expected - but not well together. I think driver-manufactureres should provide a common API for telling the driver that this and that application does NOT want to be AA'ed even if its forced.
Till now there's nothing SUN could do about this issue...

  • Do Entourage 2004 and Earthlink work well together?

I am thinking of switching to Earthlink because I cannot send or receive "secure" email with ATT Yahoo since they changed their servers. They keep sending me messages to enable SSL, but neither MAIL nor Entourage 2004 (which I prefer) will work with those settings.

This isn't the question I meant to post. I hit the wrong button while I was editing the message. I will post again, because I really need help with email issues.

With the new version of Firefox, the Google toolbar and something with my Webroot protection had to be inactivated to install. I use many of the features on the Google toolbar daily, and miss not being able to use it. When I try to reinstall, the message is that it is incompatible with Firefox 5.0. And I am not sure which features of my Webroot protection had to be deactivated for Firefox to install and run, but I want to retain my firewall and virus protection. And I MUCH prefer to use Firefox! So - I know you are always developing and improving. When will these become compatible again with Firefox.

The Google Toolbar is from Google and support for it can only come from Google, and Google has eliminated it from Firefox, and it never was in Google. Even Google has indicated that the features are available in Firefox through other extensions. But the features are really available in Firefox even without extensions from what I've seen because Firefox has very powerful bookmarks and knowing how to use them with JavaScript, substitution, and keyword shortcuts is a key to using Firefox.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

  • HT3939 Will Sprint 1429 CDMA phone work in India with GSM carriers

I am planning to purchase a Sprint CDMA phone from ebay & carry to India. Will it work in India with GSM carriers SIM?

    No.
Buy in India only, from warrantee and full function point of view.
You need to buy Model A1429 (GSM model).
Verizon, which has GSM port unlocked is better choice. But LTE would not work on this model in India with Indian operator's sim.

  • Can anyone get these to work??!!??!!  Airports don't work well together

I have two airport expresses. I bought the second one to extend the range of my existing airport network. Both airports work fine when configured as a standalone main base station. But, when I set one up to be a remote/relay station, performance on both devices suffers. I know some decline in internet speed is expected, but mine slows to a crawl . . . like less then 10kb/sec. Plus, my wireless range does not appear to be extended at all.
Additionally, airtunes performance is horrible. I can't get a song to play for much more than ten seconds before it cuts out, pauses, and then starts up again 20 seconds later. It really seems like the connection is just cutting out, both in airtunes and internet, every few seconds.
I have already documented my problems in more detail in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=989979
    Any advice??

Be aware that each WDS link cuts the available bandwidth in half.
It could be that you are experiencing RF interference from other devices operating at 2.4 GHz. Have you tried using a different channel? You can change the channel until you find a channel which works better or you run out of channels.

  • Time Machine and Time Capsule don't seem to work well together?

    Reposted.
I get the feeling there are some serious problems with the combination of Time Machine and Time Capsule.
This is extremely disappointing, as the idea of a centralized backup device on the network (instead of disks attached to each and every computer we have running Leopard) seemed like such a good idea and a good way to supplement our tape-based backup that takes place with Retrospect.
In reality, it's a disaster on both Intel and PowerPC systems. All systems and the Time Capsule are fully up to date with software updates from Apple. I have two 1TB Time Capsule units. It goes something like this:
    1. I have a few systems (mainly Intel) that work perfectly with the Time Capsule. There are no complaints and no issues at all. These systems just quietly run their backups as they should. They are the definite minority--maybe one or two have worked properly.
    2. I have some systems that complain from time to time (mainly PowerPC) but will back up with a little encouragement. These too are the minority.
    3. And finally, I have systems that are nothing but pain. These are both Intel and PowerPC systems. They are also the majority of the systems I have. The most common problem is sudden loss of the credentials needed to access the Time Capsule hardware--a user will be going along about their business when the Mac OS asks for the Time Capsule user name and password--after it's already been supplied and backups have been running. This should simply never ever happen.
Another charming behavior I've seen is corruption of the sparse disk image file that each computer creates on the Time Capsule. Time Machine will complain that it can't perform the backup, and examining the disk image file with Disk Utility shows it to be severely damaged. Turning off Time Machine, deleting the corrupted sparse image file, and starting over fixes it. For a while.
Finally, there are the machines (again, both Intel and PowerPC) that just can't seem to actually get through the first backup run. They either go so far and can't continue, or never actually manage to get started. I've checked the disks in these computers and found no problem with the hardware or file system. The installations are fresh and fully up to date.
Meanwhile, I have computers running Leopard with directly attached disks configured for use with Time Machine. One is a QuickSilver that isn't even officially supported by Leopard, with a Firewire attached disk. It doesn't skip a beat. The other is an Intel Mac mini being used with Mac OS X Server 10.5.4 and a USB external hard drive. These machines just do their thing, and I never have to babysit them.
These problems with the Time Capsule have been so severe that I've just given up on most of the computers and shut off Time Machine entirely. We have tape backups that run over the week, so it's not a huge loss. But that's not what really made me throw up my hands and say "enough"...no, that was the speed. Even with just one computer backing up to it, the Time Capsule seemed terribly slow. Watching the progress indicator was just painful.
I put in a word about all of this to my independent Apple dealer, and they say I'm definitely not the first to complain about some or all of these problems. In fact, they told me they were going to set up a test lab in their shop to see if they could duplicate these findings. I have no doubt that they can.
There are a total of seven computers backing up to one Time Capsule. They all store maybe ~40GB worth of data including the OS. There are about six computers on the other. Because of the way the network is laid out, the Time Capsule is connected to a Gigabit switch (and that is the only thing it's connected to). It cannot be used as the router, although I know Apple suggests this. The Airport section is disabled--I have no need or desire to use it. Some computers link up at 100 megabits, others at 1 gigabit. There are no network problems--we have no problems moving large amounts of data across the same network to our tape backup machine.
Is anyone else seeing these kinds of problems? Am I doing something wrong or expecting too much from Time Capsule?

I may be on to something. The Time Capsules I have live in a telephone equipment room that is indoors but not directly air conditioned or heated. It doesn't ever get too hot to be comfortable in there--the highest I've ever seen the temperature was 80 degrees (F). Most of the time the temperature is between 60-78 degrees.
I happened to touch one of them the other day while it was in use, and I noticed that the casing was hot to the touch...not dangerously so I suppose, but much hotter than I would have expected.
So I turned a small fan on both Time Capsules and have left it running. And I've noticed that not only do backups seem to complete more quickly, the reliability is also better. I am going to try some of my most troublesome computers once again just to see what happens.
I know there is a fan pointed at the hard drive in the Time Capsule, but I can't see how it does much in the way of cooling things down. In my opinion, it's just surrounded by too many heat producing devices to do much good...after all, not only is there a 7200 RPM hard disk in there, but also a 500MHz Marvell processor and radio set.

  • Can it be that OS 10 and Flash don't work well together? Internet browsers are freezing up

I started this discussion on the macbook pro forum but no one has figured this out and I'm beginning to think this could be an OS 10 problem, so I'm posting here.  No matter what browser I use (Safari or Firefox), after a little bit of surfing, the browser freezes and I get the spinning circle of death. Only thing that works to fix it is to reboot. But then the cycle repeats. I've found discussions of other fixes for this but nothing has worked. So far I have:
    Added open source DNSs
    Updated all software
Scanned for malware with Sophos (none found)
    Cleared browser caches
Run disk utility and repaired all permissions
Reset Flash settings to disable hardware acceleration
Moved large files to an external hard drive to free up more disk space
Checked to see if I have a bad Shockwave plug-in that was the culprit for others (didn't have it)
Called Mac support and was advised to use disk utility
None of this has worked. In other cases, people felt the problem had to do with flash. For them, changing the hardware acceleration setting (as I did) or removing the bad plug-in fixed the problem. This has not helped me, and I'm at a loss of what to try next. Of note, nearly every other instance I turned up about this involved SLeopard 10.6.6. That's what I was using. I updated to 10.6.8, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
I'm on a Macbook pro with 10.6.8, 4GB of ram and a 320GB hard drive showing 120GB free.

First level Console messages are usually too general. Those are kind of generic and I'm not seeing anything related there to your problem. You need to open Console and navigate inside to system.log.
This really needs fine some tooth troubleshooting. It could be so many things causing the problem. I'd call Apple back and get on the phone with a senior tech who can take the time to walk you through everything that needs to be looked at. Sounds like the tech you got either wasn't too skilled or ready to do that.
One of the first things to try is to create a new admin user and test for this there. The Apple tech should have suggested this. If it doesn't happen there, you know it's specific to your regular account and not system wide.
You could take a shotgun approach and throw Applejack at it. Make sure you do the underlined steps as well.

It runs in single user mode, where it runs more safely than other maintenance/cleaning programs because there is less chance of interference from the OS. After installing (you won't see it in the Applications Folder) hold CMD-S at startup. You will get a black screen with MS-DOS like text. Just follow the prompts: type in "applejack AUTO" and it will run through the following:
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
You can also run tasks selectively and for specific users by typing in "applejack." After running in "AUTO,"  you can go back and run it again as "applejack," steps 3 & 4 only, for your user.
The first reboot will take much longer than usual, as it rebuilds caches. It may take several restarts to see the benefits. Because of the deep cache cleaning in AUTO mode some applications may tell you they are being opened for the first time.

  • Snow Leopard and Appleworks not working well together ...

Still a dedicated fan of Appleworks mostly because I use the vector drawing program for my design business. But, even though it works in OSX.6, it is much changed. The drag-drop images from web sites print out in dot-matrix quality. Every clicked on object becomes a "grouped picture". Therefore the object has to be ungrouped and then regrouped. The resize and rotate tools don't work. If there were other great drawing programs out there I would consider them, but I am considering going back to OSX.5. Also finding that some web sites don't like OSX.6 with Safari and my HP printers have terrible quality now and HP will not support Snow Leopard and older printers. Any other Appleworks users having problems? Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Whenever you do an update, it's a good idea to do two maintenance tasks, one for the system (Repair Permissions) and one for AppleWorks (delete preferences). (Thanks to Barry for this way to format this very common answer.)
To Repair permissions, launch Disk Utility, found in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder, click on First Aid, then on Repair Permissions.
To delete AppleWorks’ preference files, go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences. Find and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist. Find and open the folder AppleWorks in this Preferences folder, then delete all of the enclosed files (with the exception of the Button Bar Preferences if you have customized the Button Bars). AppleWorks will recreate the preference files as it needs them. You should also do this every time AppleWorks crashes as each crash will cause some corruption of the preferences. This may fix the resize & rotate issues.
AppleWorks changes the resolution of all graphic formats except PICT to 72 dpi. There are a couple of things you can do improve the print quality of images.
    1. Turn on Fractional Character widths in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. This is a text setting, but it does improve the print quality of images.
    2. Open the image in Preview or GraphicConverter & Save As... a PICT to use in AppleWorks.
PICT is generally the best format to use for inserting or pasting into AppleWorks. I find the resulting graphic can be resized somewhat & the resulting saved AW file is much smaller than if using JPEG or TIFF.

  • Siri and voiceover not working well together

    G'day,
I've been trying to help a friend use Voice Over and Siri together. She has limited vision so has to use Voice Over. The issue is that with voice over on, siri will activate when holding down the home button, but will not listen. Voice over tells us to click the Siri icon, then double click it to start Siri listening. But Siri just does not start.
    Any thoughts?

  • Aperture 3 and Time Machine don't work well together

I've noticed that my Time Machine (10.6.2) creates large backups (at least 250 MB) when I've only opened up Aperture 3. No retouching, no adding of photo's (of course), no changes. Just opening Aperture and a bit of scrolling.
Is there a way to prevent this? Is Time Machine perhaps backing up a cache? Where would I find this cache so I could perhaps exclude it from the TM?
    Thanks !

the main idea of time machine is being able to restore your system to its latest state, or any state in time when it made a backup. in order to be able to do this, it just has to backup any file that's been changed, even if it's just a database having been touched by sqlite3. aperture 3 now saves the way you were viewing or where you were in a certain album or project, so when you come back to it, it takes you to exactly the same place. i guess it's necessary to write to a couple of database files to do that, even when you're just browsing. i kind of like this functionality.
    just three quick comments:
-disk space is dirt cheap nowadays, so getting a big time machine backup disk shouldn't be any problem.
-since getting previous versions of your aperture library back is usually not very likely to happen, what i do from time to time is go in to time machine, select my aperture library and delete all copies of it. this takes quite some time, but on the next backup, you'll have your current library backed up and a time machine volume with more space.
-about it taking too long over wifi: backing up is a background process. does it slow down your other stuff while you're working? if so, let it run only when you're not at the computer, or hook up a big usb disk locally.

  • Chronosync and iphoto 11 not working well together.

Has anyone else struggled to get chronosync to work with iphoto 11 libraries? I have; it often just gives me the spinning beach ball when I open the syncronizer, and if it does work then it is very slow and hasn't competed after a couple of hours.
Macbook and iMac running snow leopard, backing up to time machine.

I had thought of that. However, I have found that they will be persistently optimistic and keep suggesting methods, to try and fix problems, that are quite involved but not successful. If lots of people are having trouble and have unsuccessfully tried suggested methods I'll have to go back to time machine. If no one has then I'll approach them and give them the benefit of the doubt.

  • Ipad and Mifi not working well together.

I have a consistent problem keeping my ipad connected on a Verizon Mifi setup. This is the second Mifi I've tried and same problem. Ipad connects and network connection works but will randomly drop. It will reconnect again to the Mifi and again randomly drop. Ipad and Mifi are always close so it's not a coverage problem. Ipad has latest OS. Frequently while connected I have a very long wait for pages to load.
Any thoughts?  I'm ready to can this thing.  Bty, iphone works flawlessly with the same Mifi.
