Will this computer be enough for cf8?

Hi all,
Just a quick one the InspironTM 1420 from Dell these are its
specs is it ok for the use described above? Is the processor Intel
Pentium Dual Core ok for cf8?
Also is windows vista going to give me headaches with cf8?
Thank-you
Processor Intel® Pentium® Dual Core T2310
(1.46GHz/533Mhz FSB/1MB cache)
Memory: 1GB Doble Channel Shared DDR2 a 667MHz
Hard drive storage SATA of upto 80 GB a 5400 RPM

Thanks for the advice! What I did in the end is buy a compaq
laptop with windows home basic, an intel celeron processor, 120gb
harddrive, 512mb memory 667mhz ddr2.
How is it working you ask ;-)
I have mysql 4 installed, coldfusion 7 trial edition, a mysql
gui, ftp program, java and about 500megs of photos/videos. It is
working ok at the moment although I do need some more memory as the
os is getting slow. I´ll try getting 1 gig of memory and see
how that goes.
So conclusion it can be done with cfmx7, not really that
painful and it works fine as long as you don´t have everything
(coldfusion admin, localhost page, word, ie) open at the same
time!! I think that cf8 would not be possible on this setup maybe
with some more memory it would work.

  • This Computer Good Enough For My Editing Needs?

I will be getting a new computer for video editing.
I do gameplay recordings for various games on the PS4.
My other computer is geared for audio production mixing and mastering.
This one will be for recording(using game capture device and software) and editing the videos.
I do not use many effects, mainly some color corrections, and some time remapping using Twixtor, or stock functions.
I will be using Premiere Pro CS6
I record using the Elgato Game Capture HD60(H.264 encoding)

Also, do these specs/available slots allow for adding a Solid State Drive? Can't find info on available slots..

Must be based on the fact that the very best AMD based system, a FX8350 octo core, scores only 675 seconds in the benchmark, slower than about 85% of the Intel systems. Other AMD systems are even slower. Most Intel quad cores are much faster and even an average laptop with an Intel quad core CPU is about two times faster than the best AMD system. This AMD system is almost 7 times slower than the fastest single CPU Intel system and other AMD systems are around 10 times slower.
From the article linked to above:
As a general rule of thumb, AMD CPU's are not worth considering at all, since they suffer severely from the very limited and badly implemented support of SSE 4.x instructions, which are widely used in PR. That makes these processors very slow, even in the 8-core versions. You get what you pay for, and with AMD that holds very much. Even though Adobe claims AMD processors can be used, that is intended more to make PR look attractive, but it really means you can install the program on an AMD machine, however you can't edit effectively with such a CPU. Even the latest octo-core AMD's are significantly slower than middle-of-the-road Intel quad cores. If you have an AMD processor, do not expect to edit comfortably any codec more demanding than DV. All phone or action camera formats are way beyond what an AMD can handle.
Does not look like a bias, but a plain statement of easily checked facts.

The MBA is so small and thin many people can't help thinking it is like a Windows netbook - an underpowered toy. It isn't. There's nothing I do on my top end iMac that I can't - and don't - do on my MBA. Of course the iMac has a faster processor, bus speed, and a discrete video card so it is much faster than my MBA. Then again, my computers spend more time waiting for me to do something than I wait for them - and this includes using Photoshop and compiling code.
If I were writing large programs - something like Word for example - I'd want a very fast processor to speed up the compile/debug/compile cycle. But for iOS development your codebase will be much smaller. Frankly I can't see that much difference between a 13" MBA and a 13" MBP for development purposes. Now a top of the line 15" MBP is a different matter with its much faster CPU and separate video card.

i just went to buy an album on itunes but because ive never purchased anything on this computer its asking for the answers to my security question, but i can remeber them? what do i do!?

Click here for information. If the option to have the answers emailed to you isn't available or doesn't work(the email may take a few hours to arrive), contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in the 'Additional Information' section of that article.
Without a rescue email address, you can't reset them yourself. Nobody on these boards can reset them for you.

  • Will this computer handle games well?

Will a 15" MacbookPro (the new model) with a 2.3Ghz i7, 8GB Ram, AMD Radeon 6750M(1 GB GDDR5)  and a 750GB HardDrive (5400rpm) be able to play games well?  I want to play games on OSX and bootcamp for windows only games and I am wondering how this computer would handle them.  This would be my first mac so any input would help me make an informed decisiton.  (if it helps I would be playing games on steam). Thanks!

Hmmm... I can tall you that I use Boot Camp to run WinXP (I don't use Win 7 because XP do his job well), I run Call of Duty, ARMA II and few more games. Some of them forced me to decrease some details but Games were playable. In your case you will have better CPU and 4x more RAM so it shouldn't be any problems with running games, programs etc.
Please also nottice that my computer is 4 years old and i'm able to run newest games on it (not on hight details of course)

  • Is this PowerBook Good enough for making music?

    Is this powerbook : PowerBook G4 17Inch
17-inch TFT widescreen display with 1680x1050 resolution
    1.67GHz PowerPC G4 processor
    2GB memory (DDR2)
    120GB 5400rpm hard drive
    Slot-load 8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVDRW/CD-RW)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card with 128MB DDR memory
The Latest or the last model of Powerbooks
Is it good enough for making music or editing few video clips?
Will Snow Leopard run on it?
Can i upgrade more ram in it ?

Yes, that Powerbook can be used to make music or edit video clips. When it was new, it was required at the North Carolina School of the Arts for their Film program, using Final Cut software. Having a more powerful Intel CPU would speed up the rendering and processing times, however, the 1.67Ghz Powerbook can certainly handle video editing.
I know people that have used Garageband on it to make music.
The last operating system you can run on it is OS X 10.5 Leopard, with the last release being 10.5.8.
It's RAM is maxed out at 2GB.
As long as you don't need newer software that requires an Intel processor and aren't going to rely on that as your system to access streaming video's on the internet, it should work for you.

  • Will this power supply work for this tower?

I plan on getting this computer
    LINK
I feel like everything on the computer is adequate but the power supply is only 300W. I need more than this so I plan on using this power supply to upgrade it.
    POWERSUPPLY
Can anyone tell me if this powersupply will fit and perform with the desktop I listed. Also if it does not, is there any suggestions as to what similar Watt power supply will work?
    Thanks

Unless, for some reason, Asus didn't use the ATX form factor for that case, that power supply should work fine.
Unless you are upgrading other parts, hockey's concerns aren't warranted. A power supply that is "too big" is never a problem, it's actually better for the power supply because it runs at a lower load. And, the rails on that ThermalTake can manage higher amps than the stock one can, guaranteed.
It's tough to max out a 850watt PSU in a mid-size tower like that.

  • This computer is alredy for  authorize

  • Authorise this Computer comes up for purchased songs despite authorisation

Everytime the playlist reaches a track that I've purchased through itunes the 'This computer is not authorised to play xxx' comes up and asks me to authorise it. Even though I do this the songs still won't play. This is a recent problem and not one that I've had before. It's the same computer that I've alwys had. How can I get it to accept my purchased tracks?

    Hello Maddy56,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I would start with this article.

Otherwise, try deauthorizing the computer, logging out of your account in the iTunes store and closing iTunes. Then open it back up, log back in, and reauthorize your computer.

  • Will intel hd 3000 enough for watching hd videos and play games on medium settings?

I am planning to buy a macbook pro 13" with i7 2.7ghz and 8gb of ram. Will it be ok for intel hd3000 to run hd videos and games in low settings?

Some 3D games won't run at all, some will but severely disabled.
Any that do manage to run won't for long as updates and new games come out requiring the more powerful cards. You'll be sorry buying that machine for gaming when Lion rolls out.
If you want a future proof 3D gaming laptop, you got to go the 2.2 Ghz 15" and higher with the 1GB Radeon 6750M. 3x faster than the HD 3000.
    Seriously.
And if you really want a powerful 3D gaming machine with the most choice of games and hardware upgrades, then your going to go with a Windows tower as your going to be upgrading the video card about once a year, overclocking and doing all sorts of other tricks.
See the HD 3000 score on this page, it's about a 11. Pitiful.
    http://www.cbscores.com/index.php?sort=ogl&order=desc
I guess you could go the MacPro > bootcamp route, but that's not very cost effective for a gaming box.

  • Will this imac be suitable for Aperture?

I am looking to upgrade to a new mac but can't afford the Power Mac G5, will the following support Aperture and to what level of performance can I expect. No one at any apple stores have any answers and there are no machines to test with. Here is the computer: 2 Ghz intel core duo, ATI Radeon X1600/256 MB
    www.whitesidephoto.com
imac G4 flat panel   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

It seemed to run fairly well at PMA, they were running Aperture 1.1 on the intel iMac and also the Macbook Pro.
If there's any kind of video card upgrade (like a model with more video memory) get it. The video card is absolutley the thing that will most drive your experience with Aperture and so anything you can do to improve it will make you happier. Apple (and other developers) are going to leverage Core Image more heavily in other apps too so it's not just like this will help Aperture.

  • Computer is stuck in an endless loop of "this computer is scheduled for sleep in 10 minutes" it's 2 in the morning and I am afraid

My macbook pro (2014, mavericks, I would tell you what specific version but my computer is sick) started acting strangely, the brightness button failed to work and things were loading slowly before I got the first prompt that my computer would be going to sleep in ten minutes. Now the window will not go away. If I cancel the prompt, it comes right on back with a fresh count down. I can't type or do anything or access my library because that stupid window is trying to take over my life. I've restarted my computer multiple times, put it to sleep, let the timer run out, reboot it in safe mode, and none of it has worked. I'm panicking. Please I am so tired I just want to go to sleep without all this fear in my heart. Is this because daylight savings? I hear apple can't seem to wrap its head around daylight savings ?? And that a year or two ago there were folks with a similar issue but their OS allowed a lil way to the library I don't have. Can anyone help me. I am tired

I would first do a SMC and PRAM reset.  See this link:

  • When will WebDynPro be mature enough for production

    Hi All
I have learned that it's very important to use the same service pack release on both the Developer Studio and the WAS, otherwise you'll might not get your WebDynPro setup to work.
I guess this means that every time we'll install a service pack in our system landscape we'll also have to rebuild all our WebDynPro applications using that version of Developer Studio as well. Is it so?
Has SAP made some kind of compatibility contract that ensures we do not have the hassle with rebuilding everything every 5-7 weeks?
What is your experience with WebDynPro stability in general?
Is WebDynPro faster in development speed than DynPagePlus (http://dynpageplus.sf.net)?
Well that's a lot of questions, but I'm about to decide weather or not to WebDynPro in or not so I really whatever answers you can give me.
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards
    Thomas Bentzen

    Hi,
    <i>Well, its the other way.</i>
<b>Your NDS version should not be higher than your Web AS server version.</b> This applies for everything.. Having a development kit of higher version and using a run time of older version will not work in any kind software Development..
About the re-build you have mentioned, its not necessary.
Yes . WD development is very very fast.. And development will be highly structured and organized. It s easier to visualize  and relaize the advantages , when we work on it.
