Will this fit my Mac

I will upgrade my Harddrive but I don't know if this one Seagate Momentus SpinPoint ST1000LM024 1 TB will work?
I got a Macbook Pro 13" medio 2009 150 GB.

No, capacity will have no effect on your MBP with the only exception that you will be able to store more data.
The only consideration you should contemplate is your backup strategy.  If you use Time Machine, you really need a HDD that is at least the same size as the internal HDD in your MBP.   This may require that you order a HDD for that application.
Ciao.

I had a 640GB HDD in my Early 2008 Macbook and it was just too much it would always freeze up the computer a bit for only a few seconds but ya. Then I realized that it was the size of the HDD that was causing it since the Early 2008 Macbook models can only handle a MAX od 500GB while the Early 2008 Macbook Pros could have a MAX of 640GB (Lucked out there!) lol But ya the Early 2008 Mocbooks can only handle a MAX HDD size of 500GB and that's it!! lol

  • Will this fit our needs?

We are a local startup hospice in Arizona.
We currently need about 9 Macs networked together. Services that must be supported: file sharing, internet, email, calendar, iChat, and printing.
We are looking at 6 iMac's, 2 MacBook's, 1 Mac Pro, 1 Airport. Does 1 Mac Pro have the ability to handle this load? In the future we would like to add more desktops, how many can a Mac Pro handle by itself? What's the best configuration for the Mac Pro? Is there a better choice for a server than a Mac Pro? Budget is not much of an issue.
    Thanks,
    Michael

You will need to setup Open Directory to use the iCal Server. Your Mac Pro would be the Open Directory master. From what I have read, it is a very good idea to have a 2nd OS X Server to act as an Open Directory backup. I have not used Open Directory yet, but I thought it would be worth mentioning this.

  • Will this fit in my white poly macbook?

Hi i am upgrading my white poly 2.1 GHz MacBook. I have a 120gb hdd, and want to make it a 500GB.
Will the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500 GB fit in my MacBook?
    Thanks

As long as it's a 2.5" SATA notebook drive that is not higher than 9.5 mm it will fit in your computer.

  • Will this fit on a 2011 MBP 13inch ?

500GB 2.5" Western Digital 'Scorpio BLACK' 7200RPM SATA 9.5mm Notebook HD 16MB Cache.
Is it possible to replace the stock hard drive with this hard drive in a MBP 13inch.

I originally purchased a WD Scorpio Black 7200750GB (WD7500BPKT) and the vibrations were very noticeable. I had to exchange it for a Hitachi. I can't stress how noticeable the vibration of this drive were as ompare to the original stock 5400 RPM drive.
I ended up with a Hitachi 7k500 7200RPM 500GB (HD20500 IDK/7K) drive and have been very happy with it so far. Vibration is consistent with the original stock 5400 RPM drive (which is virtually non-existent) and the speed increase was very noticeable. Battery-life does not appear to be affected.
Another contender was the Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid 7300RPM 75-GB, which I would have tried next if I wasn't satisfied with the Hitachi.

  • Will this card fit in my G5?!?

My original video card died - I am looking to buy a Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition ADC/DVI card w/128MB. Will this fit/work in my original dual 2.0 G5 AGP?
    HELP!
    //dennis

    Hi-
The 9000 is 2x/4x AGP compatible as far as I know. I don't recall it being 8x AGP compatible.
    Your G5 is 8x AGP.

  • Will this hard drive fit my MacBook?

    Hi!
I've decided to upgradre my MacBook's hard drive when I install Leopard. I have a couple of questions. Hope some nice person will help me with some answers
First. Will this fit my MacBook:
    Hitachi TravelStar 5K160 - Harddisk - 160 GB - internal hard driwe - 2.5" - SATA-150 - 5400 rpm - buffer: 8 MB
Second. Will my old hard drive fit in some sort of box so I can use it as an external hard drive?
    Thanks alot!

Yes. If you want a little more speed and capacity consider the Hitachi 7K200 model - 200 GBs, 7200 RPM.

  • "The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD..."

I get this error message when trying to burn to a CD-R:
"The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD.
Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them?"
I'm trying to burn 17 songs. At the bottom of the playlist it tells me that those 17 songs take up 1 hour, 66.5 MB. If I have a 80 minute (1 hour, 20 minute) blank CD-R it should burn with no problems...shouldn't it? I've burned CD-Rs with iTunes on this computer before. I'm using iTunes 7.0.1.8.

I never found the solution to this. I have a Mac now.

  • "the songs in this playlist will not fit" - only 63 minutes in playlist????

I'm trying to burn a 63 minute playlist onto an 80 minute CD.
I do this many, many times a week.
However, with this playlist [16 tunes ripped off CD and one purchased track from iTunes - never burnt to CD before] I get the "the songs in this playlist will not fit" error message.
If I remove a song from the playlist, I get the same error message.
iTunes is burning other / longer playlists just fine.
    Any tips, please?
    Thank you for your time!

Yes it will have a larger amount of data but it is
    also a larger file.
Figure that 1 minute of 128bit rate is equal to about
1 meg - 1 minute at the 1411 (audio) bit rate is
    about 10 meg.
So - 70 meg of mp3 is about 700 meg of audio (AIFF)
    format.
    MJ
Well, that would only be true if you were burning a DATA or an MP3 disk. All audio files are converted to CDA format (not AIFF) before burning to 16bit PCM @ 44.1KHZ sampling rate. This is an absolute, or they will not play in an audio CD player.
By the way, the reason that some people get a bit confused by the "700mb data or 80minutes of Audio" has a lot to do with how the disks are written:
Audio sectors use 2352 bytes per sector, while standard CD-ROM data uses 2048 (the rest is for error correction). You can put roughly 747MB of audio onto a disc that only holds 650MB of data (74 Min disk), or 804Mb on a 700Mb disk, hence the 80minutes @ 10meg per minute. The number of tracks (and hence track gaps @ 2sec each) will have a minor effect on total music playing time.
There IS, however, something seriously askew with iTunes and the interface to burning any kind of disk. I have seen the same problem a few times and most of the time, renaming the playlist (for whatever reason) has solved the problem. It has been well documented on this board that itunes cannot record at high speeds any longer, and my 100% success rate speed is a mere 2x on both CD's and DVD's.
I have also seen the capacity issue show up OUTSIDE of iTunes using FlashDrives. While the OS doesn't have a problem reading data from the drives, nor does it have difficulty in acertaining the capacity of the drives, it will not write anywhere close to the capacity of the drive. Currrently affecting all 3 systems here.

The new iMacs do not come with a MiniDisplayPort, they have Thunderbolt, so unless you are talking about purchasing one of the previous generation iMacs such as this refurbished model in the online Apple store, it won't work. And yes, if you are going to get the full range of video resolutions you will need the Dual-Link version.
For details see the store's web page on the Dual-Link display adapter.

  • Time Capsule 1TB Will this unit still be compatible with Lion OSX ,As I have not switched yet until other programs I have installed on my mac are up to speed

I have had my eye on one of these for quite some time in the past and up until just very recently have puchased a 1TB Time Capsule at rather quite a reasonable price or so I had thought compared to what they had been priced at originally in the past which I had thought to be a bit over the top as is with most of apple's products or should I more say marketing tactic's,
Anyway I was just wanting to know in general is this unit already so to speak on it's way out or becoming obsolete in comparison to the 2TB's and 3TBs Time Capsules ,
Not the implicating the obvious being storage in differences but more so the compatibility issue side of things,
In short will this unit still work with OSX Lion for example, or is it only limited to Leopard and Snowleopard,
The place I had purchased this unit from are more or less in the dark themselves and although more than helpful are more a musical instrument outlet than a computer store as the decision was my choice alone in which I need not to be convinced,
Although I have purchased this item I am yet to recieve as this unit was the one of the last in the country and is to be shipped in from out of town,
But has given me time to think of such in the process during as this unit is no longer advertised amongst it bigger companions,
I use my mac or mac's mainly for composing music with such software as Pro Tools 8 soon to be 9 and also Live 8 Studio as I don't plan to plan to change over to Lion OSX until these programs are up to speed and speaking the same language,

    Yes, it's compatible with Lion.

You will lose data from whichever was the 2nd to last to sync .
    Don't do it.

Was your iPod associated with a different mac or pc previously is all. And was it backed up or sync'd on this mac with iTunes previously.
