Will this graphics card work with Premiere CS5.5

We're running a Mac Pro 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 32GB Ram, 10.6.8 and we're looking to move from Apple's FCP to Premiere CS5 but noticed in Adobe's systems requirements on graphic cards the following:
Adobe-certified GPU card for GPU–accelerated performance; visit www.adobe.com/go/premiere_systemreqs for the latest list of supported cards
Here's the list of cards for Mac:
GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro FX 4800 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro 4000 (Windows and Mac OS)
I don't see any ATI cards and we have a top of the line ATI Radeon HD 4870 this the work station. (link of card specs below)

It is unlikely that the power supply will fit/work in your HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop Computer. Please consider the Corsiar CX500, CX500M, CX600, and CX600M for your power supply needs. These power supplies are the same physical size as the factory unit and are known to fit and work in most HP full-sized consumer desktop computers.
There is a chance that the GTX 760 and other current generation video cards may not work in your computer. These newer cards typically require the computer to support the most current UEFI standards and many motherboards don't meet this criteria. Please know the return policy on any video card you purchase, in case it doesn't work. As cc_merchant implied, Premiere Pro CS6 does not support OpenCL at all (in the Windows versions of Premiere) for MPE GPU acceleration. Your system with such a GPU would perform more or less equal to a system that has no discrete GPU at all (one that relies solely on an integrated graphics solution on the CPU or motherboard) because the MPE is permanently locked to the software-only mode. If you do see any tangible increase in the response of your current setup as compared to an otherwise identical system without a discrete GPU at all, it's because your system leaves more system RAM available for Premiere to work with.

I j upgraded from a fx 5900xt and I just purchased a msi nx6600gt-vid128 card( agp) . I have a p4 2.2 , 1gig rd ram and a 400 front side bus (p4 lexington motherboard). I have 2 questions
1) will this 8x card work okay on my 4x agp slot. The packaging says that the card requires a 8x compliant mainboard, but tech support say they are backward compitable to 4x agp slot. tOon newegg.com where i bought it is says it is a 4x/8x card. I am confused . my fx5900xt was a 8x card and worked on my 4x slot.
2)Is driver 71.89 okay to use with this card. I heard 77.72 has problems. what about 77.50 or 77.77 drivers

I have a 2007 3.0GHZ Mac pro, the current graphics card in it - ATI X1900 XT is giving me a lot of problems for a while now. I have taken it out cleaned it and put if back in but they are still happening. Then I found this artical about it -
