Will this laptop/tablet keep up with photoshop?
I may buy a lenovo x201 tablet. 8g ram 2.13-GHz Intel Core i7-640LM
I currently use a macbook pro which works well. But I would love to have this tablet to do any line art and things like that.
My worry is I do not want the programs to lag or crash. I just want to make sure my machine can keep up with these powerful programs.
Also If I do get this I will use it solely for photoshop and illustrator. No other programs (besides maybe google chrome.)
Will they run properly?
Thanks!
That machine will handle your Photoshop stuff just fine, but it's not what you want for fast turnover in FCP.

System Requirements Confuse Me. Will This Laptop Run Premeire CS6?
Hey, I know many people ask these questions but requirements/recomendations/technical specs have me second guessing myself. I know that no laptop is great for heavy video editing, but will this laptop run Premeire Pro CS6 for regular stuff?

I7 quad core
17in 1080 screen
nvidia gt 650m 2gm gddr5
8gig ram (expandable to 16gb)
Thanks5400rpm hard drive is below the 7200rpm specification... so editing would be VERY slow and subject to "jerky" editing playback
IF the laptop has a USB3 port (I don't see such mentioned) you could use a 7200rpm USB3 drive for your projects and video files
External eSata or USB3 are both fast enough for video editing... http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1117813 - http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/84-disk-setup
ONE possibility is this $47 USB3 dock with fan http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-SuperSpeed-Docking-Station-Cooling/dp/B0055PL2YI -
I got factory unlocked iphone5s A1530 model from india with warranty... Now i shifting to regina canada so will this phone work in canada with canadian sim card...with Canadian operators permanently...
Remember though, that although you have warranty on this phone, it is only valid in India and NOT Canada, because you purchased the phone in India and iPhone warranty is country specific, so if you have problems with the phone, then you'll need to take it back to India to get it fixed.
If you will be in Canada for any length of time, then buy a new phone in Canada. It will be guaranteed to work then and you will also have warranty cover. -
Will this laptop support a sata hard drive?
Running an HP Pavilion Model dv4-2145dx.
Will this laptop support an internal 1T SATA Hard Drive?Yes as long as it is a 9.5 mm thick 2.5 inch wide drive. Some 1 TB 2.5" SATA drives are 12 mm and are designed primarily for Blade Servers, not laptops. This one will work:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152291
The other problem is that 1 TB laptop drives are maximum 5400 rpm. I personally will not use anything but a 7200 rpm drive since they perform much better. I believe the biggest 7200 rpm drive you can get is a 750 gb. -

I doubt if it would work- very few Mac products are designed to be compatible with PC devices. -

That is either a) nonsense, b) something I've never heard of before (and I do try to stay on top of computing tech), or c) thinly veiled marketing speak for "the display chipset shares memory with the CPU", which is usually not good for performance.
Perhaps it's something new, where AMD's CPU and GPU are closely coupled.
I would be leery of any computer that sports only 100bT Eithernet. Current systems usually use gigabit (1000bT) Ethernet.
Finally, AMD may make fine processors (they certainly make good GPUs) but I've always liked Intel brand.
If you can believe the specs, it will probably run Photoshop, but I wouldn't bet on good performance. Is this model particularly affordable?

Will Dell Venue 8 Pro work with photoshop?
I was think about buy Dell Venue 8 Pro, but I want to use photoshop CC as sketchbook on my new-to-be portable tablet. I want use it on the go and in bed...
I don't plan to use tablet as final look.
Will it work?
If you have used it.. How was it platform?
Because I already own firepro desktop that work very well with photoshop CC with too many layer.. ( and zbrush - up to 16 million polygon per sub-tool hee hee)
So I can finish off the job on desktop after tablet. For those that find this post...yes, Photoshop CC does work extremely well on Dell Venue Pro 8. The only compromise is screen real estate--but aside from a few panel tweaks--everything is fine and surprisingly useable. We ran Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 on a DVP8 and compared it with a Mac Book Pro 2013--the DVP8 (32gig Version) was more responsive and extremely fast (though rendering required by After Effects not recommended DVP8). Make sure to get a Sandisk 64 MicroSDXC (http://amzn.to/1wtydtu)--and the tablet rocks. The programs I use frequently on Dell Venue 8 Pro are: Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Indesign, Muse, Lightroom, Story, Audition and Media Encoder. While we have tried Premiere (projects and media on a USB 3.0 connected external)--some rendering processes were compromised--but not uneusable.

Will This Macbook Pro Keep Up For My Tasks In Mind
Ok im thinking about this macbook pro 13" 2.4ghz 4gb ram. I need it for editing my 44mbps canon t2i 1080p video on FCP CS5 aswell as 18mp raw files edited on PS CS5. i hate lag but cant afford the 15" i5 model. So wil this laptop be able to handle my work tast thanks in advance.

Will this laptop suit my needs?
Hi my current laptop is not powerful enough. It's a Toshiba Satellite P50-ABT2G22 http://www.pcworld.com/product/pg/1235609190/detail
*Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz)
*8GB DDR3L 1600MHz (4GB + 4GB)
*1.0TB (5400rpm); Hybrid 8G Serial ATA hard disk drive
*2GB GDDR3 NVIDIA ® GeForce® GT 740M with Optimus™ Technology
I make 1080p music videos with a lot of animation and heavy effects, which are usually around 6 minutes long. With my current laptop when about 2-3 minutes of the video is completed, RAM previews and updates in the composition monitor when changing things slow down to the point that i can't really finish the video. Each frame takes like 3 seconds to load. So i guess i need a new laptop.I'm pretty sold on MSI's Dominator pro 888, I just wanted to get some approval. Do you guys think this will get the job done? My only concern is that the processors are very similar. But with 4x more RAM, much better GPU, and the SSD, I'm hoping I'll be able to make my 6 minute, effects heavy, videos extremely smoothly, with no lag. What do you guys think?

4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4800MQ (2.7GHz - 3.7GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache)
NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 880M (8.0GB) GDDR5 PCI-Express DX11 w/ Optimus™ Technology
32GB DDR3 1600MHz [SKU-844AP] (Dual Channel Memory (4x8GB SODIMMS))
1TB HDD + 384GB SSDThere is little way to forecast what will happen until someone tests it. I just checked on this laptop and while I can overclock the GPU memory (GTX 765M) from 1000 MHz up to 1516 MHz and the results of our PPBM7 GPU assisted MPEG2.DVD test dropped from 78 seconds to to 57 seconds which is an appreciable improvement. I think that on the GTX 880M they probably had to limit the power consumption for battery only usage to meet the laptop manufacturers specifications.
With this in mind and knowing that any real editing has to be done with the AC power brick all you will have to do is overclock the memory clock on the GTX 880M and you can boost the memory bandwidth accordingly. It is a very easy operation. I use EVGA's Precision X and here is what it looks like.
Here is GPU-Z showing the operating memory clock now at 1516 MHz rather than the stock 1002 MHz and accordingly the new memory bandwidth is 97 GB/s rather than my normal specification of 64 GB/s. If the GTX 880M has the same headroom for overclocking, you will be very happy with it.
But even so check with Eric at ADK on their 8600HW or 8600TB because they are real experts on video editing and they do include lifetime tech support and can really fine tune the configuration. -
I have had my eye on one of these for quite some time in the past and up until just very recently have puchased a 1TB Time Capsule at rather quite a reasonable price or so I had thought compared to what they had been priced at originally in the past which I had thought to be a bit over the top as is with most of apple's products or should I more say marketing tactic's,
Anyway I was just wanting to know in general is this unit already so to speak on it's way out or becoming obsolete in comparison to the 2TB's and 3TBs Time Capsules ,
Not the implicating the obvious being storage in differences but more so the compatibility issue side of things,
In short will this unit still work with OSX Lion for example, or is it only limited to Leopard and Snowleopard,
The place I had purchased this unit from are more or less in the dark themselves and although more than helpful are more a musical instrument outlet than a computer store as the decision was my choice alone in which I need not to be convinced,
Although I have purchased this item I am yet to recieve as this unit was the one of the last in the country and is to be shipped in from out of town,
But has given me time to think of such in the process during as this unit is no longer advertised amongst it bigger companions,
I use my mac or mac's mainly for composing music with such software as Pro Tools 8 soon to be 9 and also Live 8 Studio as I don't plan to plan to change over to Lion OSX until these programs are up to speed and speaking the same language,Yes, it's compatible with Lion.

I have ICal and keep getting this error:
The request for account “yahoo.ca” failed.
The server responded with
“502”
to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
Can someone help me?
Thanks,
MGreetings,
It sounds like you've added a calendar server to iCal.
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and remove any accounts you don't need, especially any yahoo accounts.
Go to iCal > Quit and then test.
Hope that helps. -
Will mac book air run properly with photoshop when I use the Thunderbolt dispay?
I would like to get a MB Air 13"; can I use Photoshop with it? Will Thunderbolt Display work well with at?
Thank youThe answer is Yes and Yes. Unless you are editing huge files, Photoshop should run adequately on a MacBook Air.
You can check it out at an Apple Store before you purchase, and see if it meets your expectations.
Btw, you may want to consider the i7 version just for slightly better performance. -

Will this laptop run games ok?
Hi, will the asus q200e 11.6" touchscreen windows 8 laptop with a intel i3 processor run games like call of duty and battlefield, or should I look at the asus K series 15.6" laptop with a AMD 8 processor. I know the AMD is going to be better but I want a touch screen and my budget is $480. so basically I want to know if the q200e will run these game ok on the i3.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+11.6%26%2334%3B+Touch-Screen+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Dri...The main problem you'll run into with laptops is going to be the GPU. Most laptops have an onboard graphics card due to space limitations, which is fine for normal computer use, but will really struggle when it comes to gaming.
I understand wanting to have a computer that is portable and can cover multiple uses, but gaming is probably the top thing that drastically changes the computers you'll be looking it when it comes to uses for the computer.
My suggestions, if you still want to go with a laptop, would be something online that has dedicated graphics. I'll actually check Best Buy for you and see if there are some reasonably priced gaming laptops. I'll post back later.
