Will this RAM fit ?

Will this RAM be supported in a 2010 MBP ?
Only difference I can see is that standard RAM is 1066mhz and this is 1333mhz.
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/laptop-memory/ddr3-sodimm/ddr3-sodimm/ocz- ddr3-pc3-10600-ddr3-value-sodimm-8gb-edition.html
And does anyone know of any other memory providers that make RAM to fit a MBP ?

204 pin looks like it would fit, however I think what you are looking for is PC8500 DDR3 1066MHz 204 Pin?
You can read more on bus speed and overclocking. Depends on what you are primary using your computer for. You can decide for yourself, google "1066mhz and this is 1333mhz."

Will this ram fit our 15 MBP bc this is another great deal
    http://www.frys.com/product/5468099

I tried using the memory finder on the Frys' site and the link to the Apple page errors out. Do you really want RAM from someone who can't keep an Apple RAM link working? I buy a lot of stuff from Fry's retail store but not RAM. Even in-store, they seldom have proper Mac memory charts.
Like SIG says, post more details about your machine to get better advice on finding the right RAM. The easiest way is to do "About this Mac..." and then click "More Info..." in the resulting window. You'll get the System Profiler screen; copy the info on the first screen and paste everything except your machine's serial number into a response. For example, doing that with my MBP gives this info:
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B05
    SMC Version: 1.16f10
    Serial Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Someone can look at this and tell exactly which model you have and what RAM it takes.

  • Will this ram work?

hi there, am soon hoping to purchase a new intel-imac i jsut want to be certain whether this ram will work in it:
    http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3VTJ&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=PC2 5300&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0&v=2#infoarea

That RAM won't fit into an Intel iMac.
You need laptop sized RAM also called SO-DIMM, 200 pin.

It will work fine, but as the other poster stated the price is high. You can purchase the same memory at DataMem for $126.00.
If you have a Core 2 Duo Mac you can install 4 GBs of RAM (two 2 GB DIMMS) but only 3 GBs will be usable. The remaining 1 GB resides in an address space currently used by the operating system and thus not available to the user.

  • Will this ram or memory work with my "Specific" Imac G5 powerpc 2.0 ghz?

Once again in a quick need to get some ram I let the idiot at fry's talk me into getting this particular ram for my Imac model# M9845LL/A G5 20 inch powerpc model the 2nd model. I bought this ram its the "Corsair" model# VS1GB400C3 Here is a link to a photo of it. Will it be compatible with my imac I didnt put it in yet as I was fearful of it causing a problem. I swear I tried everything to tell the sales guy it was for a IMac and that its picky. So any out there can tell me if this memory is okay for my actual "Model#" of my imac?
    http://www.buy.com/search/q/querytype/home/qxt/home/dclksa/1/VS1GB400C3.html
I really appreciate anyones help that really knows for sure the compatibility with my actual specific imac model above. Thanks.

Here is a link to the specs on the corsair memory I got sold by the salesman. I probably should have not listened to him. But I sort of did because I called the apple store and they Geniuse guy told me he has stuck all kinds or types of ram in my type of imac and they work.. But now I am starting to wonder because of some posts I have seen.

Yes, that RAM module will work, but the original 2006 Core Duo model has a maximum of 2 GBs of RAM. You would need a Core 2 Duo model in order to install 4 GBs. If you have the 2006 C2D model you can install 4 GBs, but only 3 GBs will be available for use.

  • Will this RAM work wit my G5

Im about to buy some ram on sale... i noticed the only difference there is: my mac 2.5V - and the ram im buying is 2.6v ! Will this work, or am i gonna have some problems!
    1024MB DDR SDRAM PC3200 Kingston
    KVR400D8R3A/1G KINGSTON 1024MB DDR PC3200 ECC REG -
    1 x 1 GB (1 GB) / DDR SDRAM / PC3200CL3 / 400 MHz / ? Bit? ns
    Im buying 2 of those!

Use un-buffered. That is the spec. Other posters here in the forums have had problems trying to run other than un-buffered. Also, only the latest models of G5 support buffered RAM. Older models do not.
Using RAM outside of the specs that Apple gives, is risky business with G5's.
As far as the voltage goes, companies like Crucial back their products, and, if they say it will work, it's probably so.
OWC fully tests, and backs, what they say will work in your/a given machine.
These two companies are trusted suppliers of Mac compatible RAM. There are others, but these are the two I recommend. Others in these forums feel the same.
If you search these forums, you will find that RAM problems in G5's are VERY common, especially with people who buy RAM non-Mac specific (generic, or value RAM), or those who buy RAM outside of the Apple spec, without compatibility testing.
Another factor, with the RAM modules (and NOT in the spec), is that Mac's run better with low density chips, and will often times not even recognize medium to high density chips. Medium to high density chips are very common in "value" RAM, and in RAM that is generally sold for PC machines.
So, again, I think it's best to buy from vendors who actually test the RAM in the machines they say it works in, or from those with a proven track record of supplying Mac compatible RAM.
Along with this, staying as close to the Apple spec as possible, will help avoid potential issues.

  • Will this card fit in my G5?!?

My original video card died - I am looking to buy a Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition ADC/DVI card w/128MB. Will this fit/work in my original dual 2.0 G5 AGP?
    HELP!
    //dennis

    Hi-
The 9000 is 2x/4x AGP compatible as far as I know. I don't recall it being 8x AGP compatible.
    Your G5 is 8x AGP.

  • Will this RAM work with my mac?

    Hello,
I have had my iMac for a year now and recently I have decided to upgrade the memory.
I bought the mac with one stick of 1 GB PC3200 ram already in, and now I want an additional 1 GB. I did my research and think I have found the right ram at a reasonable price.
the following link is to a stick of Kingston 1 GB PC3200 RAM non-ecc with a CAS latency of 3.
    http://www.pricegrabber.com/searchtechspecsfull.php/masterid=1515555
everything seems fine except two things.
1.) How can I figure out what the CAS latency of my current RAM is? ( I am guessing 3 is standard, so that I should be fine, but if there is a way to check I would appreciate that)
2.) Does valueRAM actually lead to system problems for macs? ( I read an earlier post that said that they might lead to kernel panics)
If anyone has any information to help me I would be extremely grateful.
    iMac G5 2.0 GHz (pre-iSight)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Thankfully I figured out the best way to deal with this RAM compatibility problem.
Instead of paying 150 for the Samsung ram from OWC I took a little bit of time to check ebay and found the exact RAM that is in my computer (down to the part#) for 120$.
I pay 20 bux more, but in return I don't have to worry about any technical problems arising from incompatible RAM and pay much less than what OWC offers.

  • Does this ram fit into my MacBook?

    Hey gang.
It's time to upgrade my ram, therefore I have been looking at 2 gb. sticks. I was just about to order Kingston HyperX ram, but then I got to thinking if the ram can even fit into the ram slots since the HyperX ram has a little extra height to it (consult picture)
    Picture:

So what do ya say? does it fit?
    Best regards

Any RAM the meets the specifications outlined in the Adding Memory section of your user manual will work. Since you didn't provide a specific model number nor the image posted provide any specifications, it's impossible to give you an answer to your question.
I did a little bit of research, despite the fact that I can't read Norwegian.
    The photo came from this:

    Which is this:

PCB : Height 1.180” (30.00mm), double sided component
The following says that the memory should be no more than 30 mm.

It should be OK. This is a CL=4 memory, which theoretically yields a small performance boost. Other World Computing sells some CL=4 kits.

  • Will this ram work on the internal slot

    http://cgi.ebay.com/MICRON-1GB-PC2100-2100-266Mhz-DDR-266-Mhz-184PIN-1-GB-G_W0QQ itemZ270086275196QQihZ017QQcategoryZ74942QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

That RAM module will work in the internal slot of a 17-inch 1GHz iMac G4. It won't fit into the slots of a slower iMac, and is too slow to work in a newer iMac.

  • Will this RAM work for my early 2011?

I found this on apple's web site:
    - 67.6mm x 30mm (1.18 inch)
    - 2 GB or 4 GB
    - 204-pin
    - PC3-10600 DDR3 1333 MHz type RAM
    Can I use this one:
    Corsair DDR3 SO-DIMM 1333MHz 8GB KIT MAC
Kit w/2x 4GB, CL9, 204pin, Apple iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro
    with the following spec:
    Type
    DRAM
    Teknologi
    DDR3 SDRAM
    Produktformfaktor
    SO DIMM 204-pins
    Hastighet
    1333 MHz ( PC3-10666 )
    Ventetidstiming
    CL9 ( 9-9-9-24 )
    Dataintegritetskontroll
    Non-ECC
    Egenskaper
    Non-buffer
    Voltage
    1.5 V
    (sorry for the norwegian)
Only difference I can see is that the one specified by apple has "PC3-10600" and the one this shop is selling is "PC3-16666"...
I don't know if that will cause problems...
    Thanx,
    K.

    That macbookpro needs:
    204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
so that Corsair set is correct.
But in this forum it is said always that a mac is very sensitive of the quality of new ram. And then most of the time Crucial or OWC are recommended.
In older Macs like yours (haha) I have used Corsair also once and did not have any problems.

this is what i could find out about it on newegg : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...7D2N5%2 52f1G
from what i have read on the apple site, the imac will only take 200 pin memory stick. true?

True, have a look at the spec's in the iMac's installing ram page.

That Kingston KVR667D2N5/1G is a 240 pin module, the wrong spec!
