Look I need to know cause I have both the software and the computer recently purchased but remaining unopened in their respective boxes. I just want to make sure they will work on the computer before I open the box and take the computer out of the box and turn it on and try to install and use the software. I'm not sure the people at Walmart gave me proper info as they sold me these products together.

Screen goes black when playing "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08"

No need to mention that I am very happy with my new iMac. It replaces my G4 MDD PowerMac. The iMac is huge, quiet and fast on my graphic design jobs. I even won´t want to miss the glossy screen.
Yesterday I received the brand new "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08". Keen on trying the game I installed and successfully created a player and got first practice shots but as soon as I try to actually start a game scenario, it appears that the scenario just only loads about 90 % and then screen goes black. From there I can only shut down my iMac with the power switch.
Now I found a support note on the EA Games Site. Title: "Why does "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08" lock up with a black screen when playing on an iMac 7.1?" Answer: "This is caused by a driver issue with the video card that will be adressed by next system update by apple later this month."
Question: is this indeed so? Can I expect a system update soon? Anybody there with the same problem?
P.S.: I checked if I could run the game with a new user. Same problem.

Thank you for replying. There are more postings in this forum about that issue. I.e. gamers trying to play Unreal Tournament suffer from the same freezing on the new 24" iMac. Have a look as well at the reviews in the US apple store on this game.
Solution is near. Installing 10.5 Leopard should solve the problem. As I do not want to install Leoprad yet, because some of my graphic apps will not run smoothly on leopard I have to wait for the next update for Tiger 10.4.11
Obviously EA Games is to blame and failed to test the game good enough before hand.

Tiger Woods PGA 2003 - 1 bit display?

Hello,
I hust purchased Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 CD. Installed it but whenI try to play I get an error message something like: Need to adjust properties:to high colour 16 bit display adapter
I have tried adjusting the monitor to: thousands and millions - still get the same message. I have searched the aspyr support and nothing relates to this error message.
Can anyone help me with this?

Just wanted to say that even upgrading the iMac to OSX won't help in this case. You need at least 32MB of VRAM or a Mac with an upgradable video card. The all-in-ones (iMacs, iBooks, laptops, etc.) don't have upgradable video cards.
None of my iMac G3's have that much VRAM. In fact, my 2.5 year old iBook G4 has only 32MB of VRAM, which is not that much by today's standards. In fact, now that I've attached an external monitor and am spanning the image between the two, each monitor is only allocated 16MB of VRAM. So, I couldn't even play Tiger Woods PGA 2003 on this G4 Mac, unless I disconnected the external monitor.
It's practically impossible to keep up with video games unless you can afford a new computer every year. How many people know how much VRAM they have, or how to find out where that information is located? Most people don't even know how much RAM they have, or how large their hard drives are.
Probably much less expensive to buy a GameBoy...

It is an EF mount so it will work on any modern Canon DSLR camera but not the mirrorless camera. From a quick read it doesn't sound very appealing. A push pull zoom, a dust magnet, and a soft lens unless perhaps stopped down to f/8.

I am using CS2 premium (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, Go Live, inDesign and Acrobate 7 Professional) and wish to upgrade to CS5.5 Design Standard + Dreamweaver.
But my question is probably more like: if we upgrade a CS2 product to a CS5.5 product, will some PowerPC code still remain in the upgraded version, thus creating compatibility problems with Lion?

Will this version of XP Home work for Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac?

For Christmas, I received Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac because I need Windows XP for certain reasons. First, I have several neat programs that only run on DOS and second, I miss MS Paint (I hate Seashore or Piantbrush) and Finally, I like MS Movie Maker better then iMovie. When I opened it, I got furious because found out that XP Home doesn't come with it, so I must purchase it online. I really need XP Home with SP2, and not XP Pro. I looked in the manuel and it says I cannot use OEM copies, but I looked at another discussion that said OEM copies were OK. Now I'm very confused, so I decided to make this post hoping that I can get a good final answer. Here is another problem, I only have $100 to spend because I'm saving up for a bigger gift that has nothing to do with computers. I want to know which copy will work.

You have an intel based mac. that is one particular Original Equiptment Manufacturer. Now, what parallels does is build a vitual machine inside your mac to make it OEM compatible inside the mac Operating System to make Windows XP Home to work within the mac environment. Once it is fully installed, you can use mac and windows XP home together at the same time. You can also install XP home in mac boot and use it separate from mac as well to do your work separate of being on mac ss well. carefully read the instructions and the key part again is putting in P.T, for it to work properly.

It is an older drive, but it says it is compatible with Mac OSX 10.3 and the Power Mac G4. If I get one of those internal hard drive enclosures that use USB cable to connect to computers, will it show up on my macbook and be useable? If so, which should I use, firewire or USB?

HT4882 This no longer seems to work since Lion was installed and still not with Mountain Lion.

It seems this feature has stopped working only since Lion (now Mountain Lion)was installed. I wil try an old copy of an earlier OS as an external boot to check but this appears to be anOS upgrade problem.

The Swedish site you've linked is discussing .xmodmap, which is a hidden (hidden because of that leading dot) configuration file in your login home directory that's used to customize settings for the keyboard mapping within X11.
I'd expect the XQuartz tool to read ~/.xmodmap in your login directory as part of its initialization sequence.
The xmodmap tool (no leading dot, and not a hidden file) is an application that's used to process the configuration file.
When you invoke xmodmap (the tool), you either need to specify the full path /usr/X11/bin/xmodmap for it to be found and invoked, or you need to have the /usr/X11/bin/ directory added to your PATH. Your PATH is the list of directories where OS X looks for the tools you're invoking.
If the xmodmap tool is not working, are there any diagnostics? Or is XQuartz not honoring the request? (If so, see if it will honor the setting made via the .xmodmap configuration file.)

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 continually crashes. Cannot complete a challenge without the app closing. It takes multiple tries until the game will load. I can play one hole then the game shuts off. Tried all troubleshooting options.

I've experienced the same problem, but on my iPad. The ONLY thing that has worked, albeit temporarily, was I downloaded the Process Killer app (free). Don't confuse this pseudo-solution with the app history process deletion. Everytime, before I play TW12, I kill all the running processes with this app. It has allowed me to play several Tiger Challenges or AT LEAST two complete rounds of Tour or regular play. Unfortunately, I can't recall the person that provided this solution previously, but it does work for me. Btw, never had this problem prior to iOS5 upgrade. Hope this helps.

I would assume, because they're metion:
Intel Core 2 Duo (1.8 GHz) (Game will not run on a PowerPC Macintosh)
So it's a Intel game and running with Lion, if you're computer meet the hardware requirements.

Hi, Your issue has been posted on the forum before. Do a search on "Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 2008". You can try downloading Directx9 from the Microsoft site. Sometimes the older version of DX9 works with older applicatons. Additionally, try reinstalling the application.
