Will Thunderbird function if I have only a GANDI email account with no gmail or other webmail?

I began Thunderbird with synch to my gmail. I then added a GANDI account and email address. In a couple of months, I may wish to eliminate my gmail account entirely. I shall then have no webmail at all, just a GANDI account and address. Will Thunderbird function for me with only a GANDI account?

I have purchased a GANDI email account but do not see it in the panel to the left as described in the tutorial.

I followed the instructions on creating a new account and purchased an email account from GANDI. I received my account creation email and followed the link to activate the account. That part when as expected. The TB instructions say that the GANDI account will appear in the left panel when I log into TB.
The new account is not there. How do I correct this? I am not a techie, to it is probably something that I am doing wrong. I am not ashamed to admit it. :(

I have been trying to enter the GANDI account the same way that I did the gmail account. In the first window I enter my name, my Gandi email address and password. when i hit enter, it open up the next window and tells me that the configuration is found in the Mozilla isp database. I hit done and it gives me a message that says configuration could not be varified. Is my username or password wrong? the answer to that question is not. I have now entered this information about 12 times and have done it very slowly to preclude any errors. I am at a loss. :(

Today I received the same message but have 4.6gb available from a total of 5.0gb. I also received the same message when i first set up my icloud account and icloud was virtually empty. Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

Because someone's trying to mislead you into giving them your iTunes Store login information. Forward all such emails to [email protected] and then delete them.
If there's an actual problem with your iTunes Store account, you'll be told at the time you try to purchase or download something.

Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

You cannot transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another. You need to go into the old Apple ID and change it to the new email address instead of using a new Apple ID altogether.

If you can't remember the password to the old ID, then click on Reset your Password, and answer the Security Questions. If you can't remember the Security Questions, contact iTunes Support and have them reset:
APPLE ID SECURITY CONTACT NUMBERS
Once you get into your old account, Edit the Apple ID to your new email address. Before you will be able to do that you are going to have to change the email address on the new Apple ID to something else.

Sounds like a simple question and I've gone through the settings>email procedure and not readily found an idenifiable way of adding a much needed mac emal address to my emails. Is this possible please?

I don't know if this has changed - this was a 2011 psot after all. But I've always had a 2nd .mac email address on my iphone. Probably for at least 2 years or more as far as I can remember. I set up 2 .mac email accounts a long time back before anyone had heard of the cloud. And it's always worked fine on my iPhone 4 and then the iPhone 5.

Thanks to cor-el for the suggestion given in the link. Sadly I have to report:
1) It is not a bookmark problem and it makes no difference whether I put
www.adobe.com or 192.150.18.117 in the address bar.
2) Cookies are allowed and there are no exceptions set
3) All cookies have been deleted
4) network.http.sendRefererHeader is already set to 2

Additional information:
5) I can get into the adobe site from a clean "in memory" installation of PuppyLinux using Seamonkey using the same router and dhcp setup.
6) un-installing all Mozilla products - rebooting and re-installing makes no difference even when I remove the mozilla folder from docs&settings.
so as I said in previous post (as annonymous) not a lot makes sense.

MAILBIRD uses port 993 for incoming mail but THUNDERBIRD uses port 143
When uses 143, it kept " checking capabilities...."
then I changed to port 993 (like in MAILBIRD), it said "connected to.....mail," but then "timed out"

a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five iTunes store accounts (Apple IDs). a library thusly set up will sync content purchased with any of the five Apple IDs to any device.
