Will uninstalling photoshop deactiviate my activiation code?

I have the adobe photoshop cs3 package installed on my work computer
for some odd reason all the CS3 programs crash on start up (I'm using windows vista)
I can't be bothered finging out the issue because im getting a new work computer and this computer will be re-formatted.
I tried to activate photoshop etc on my new computer but because the activation already exists on two work computers it wont let me activate my new one.
but since i cant open any of the programs on my current computer...i cant go to help > deactivate ....
so im stuck...
so back to my original question...if i uninstall the entire package off my current computer...will i be able to activate CS3 it on my new computer?

I don't think so. Have you tried rescuing the copy on computer B enough to de-activate?
Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ. (You don't need to run Photoshop to do it.)

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
One of those methods might work in which case you can de-activate.
Failing that, Adobe will reset your activation if you call them and explain the situation.

I uninstalled Photoshop elements 9 today because i clicked on the edit page and it said it could not find a file which means i deleted something in my computer without realizing it was important ( oops ) BUT anyways.. im trying to find Photoshop Elements 9 and all i get its PSE 10 ... i have a serial code probably still activated on my computer but since im not moving computers i dont need to deactivate anything... Where is Photoshop Element 9 and how do i download it again... HELPP PLEASEE <3

If you bought the download from adobe, log into your adobe store account and there will be link to download it again, but this time for heaven's sake save the file, don't just run it. The adobe downloads are only available for a maximum of three years and after that if you haven't saved it there's nothing to do but buy it again. Always make a backup copy of the original download file.

you don't need to uninstall previous adobe versions before installing updated versions.
but if you want to uninstall and the uninstaller fails, you can re-install cs over the original install and that will usually allow the uninstaller to work.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

Probably a question for the Lightroom forum, but I understand Lightroom does not need Activation. It just needs the serial number. My gut feeling is that it will install on the new laptop without a problem.
But what about all the libraries and stuff that Lightroom produces? I'd have thought that would be the most important aspect of transferring to a new computer.

Cannot Uninstall Photoshop CC

I went to uninstall Photoshop CC today and the alias on my Mac says that the uninstaller it was pointing to cannot be found. I just upgraded to Yosemite maybe that has something to do with it. I've read that I can install CC and then the uninstaller will come back, but I can't find where I can download the old CC version that I'm trying to get rid of.

Snaphappymemphis thank you for the clarification. Typically individuals facing this type of error have either manually removed their installation, utilized a third-party utility to remove the software, or migrated/transferred copied applications and settings to a new computer/drive.
You also mentioned that you upgrade to Mac OS 10.10. Did you successfully utilize the installed Adobe Creative applications prior to the upgrade? i tried to uninstall photoshop cs under the add or remove program.. but i got this error 5001. It states:

I believe it is actually a better idea to run the original installer disk and select uninstall than to use add/remove, but at this point the clean-up script may be the only option.

I have MacKeeper and have cleaned and discarded all the garbage.

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
If you have incompletely removed MacKeeper—for example, by dragging the application to the Trash and emptying—then you'll have to reinstall it and start over.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. Photoshop CS3 Trial then Code problem

I downloaded the trial of Photoshop CS3 and it ran out. My college passed out Adobe Suite and I installed it. Now I can't run photoshop at all because it won't take my serial and won't be deleted so I can reinstall. I ran the suite disk and I can't uninstall Photoshop and it won't let me reinstall it.
Any help is much appreciated.

Routine maintenance is imperative.
I still advocate Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) before AND after any system update or upgrade, as well as before AND after installing any software that requires an installer that asks for your password.
I have seen software installations go sour because the installer did not find everything as and where it should be.
I have also seen software installations go bad because the installer did not clean up after itself properly and did not leave everything as and where it should be.
This is just my own personal opinion and practice based on my own observations. Others may disagree and that's OK. I can only base my routines and my advice to others on my own experience and conclusion. I don't pretend to know why others believe otherwise.
Repairing Permissions after the fact (i. e. not immediately before and after an install) seldom helps.; Try it anyway, though.

Additionally, if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily, weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended by Apple, run Cocktail (shareware) as well.
Cron Scripts are maintenance routines designed by Apple to run on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the middle of the night.
If you don't run them, you WILL run into trouble, sooner rather than later.

I have been using Paint Shop Pro for several years. I installed this complimentary edition of Photoshop to see what it looked like. It immediately defaulted all my photos on the computer to the Photoshop program. Now I can't open them in Paint Shop Pro. I would like to uninstall Photoshop Album Starter and return to PSP but I'm afraid, if I remove the program, I'll also remove my pictures. Please let me know.

Firstly, this was an option you accepted during install. Unfortunately the default has this behaviour.

Don't worry - your pictures will be OK. This won't fix the problem as you still need to reassociate any file types with PSP. Just right-click on a fil ein Windows Explorer, choose Open With, select PSP and check Always Open.

I installed the trail Photoshop 5 and it worked great. Will purchese later. My problem is I uninstalled Photoshop 5 with the uninstaller but now when ever I want to open a photo in Bridge 4 the defalt is Photoshop 5 and I can not change it. Their is a line after the Photoshop 5 icon in the Info panel the rederects the program to Photoshop 5 from Photoshop 4. Help please.

I had inadvertently installed Photoshop Elements on 3 computers. I started getting a notification saying that I had installed the product on more than 2 computers. I then made the mistake of uninstalling Photoshop from one of my computers before disabling it. I still get the message that the product has been installed on more than 2 computers. What should I do?

You can either take one of the computers off your network every time you want to run PSE, or just put PSE back on, deactivate it properly and uninstall it. You will probably need to take a computer offline to be able to get in to deactivate it.
