Will using "Import at current location" disable "Ignor suspected duplicates?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would know if using the "Import at current location" LR2 selection would still allow LR2 to use the "Ignor suspected dupelicates on Import" function if it's turned on??
Does this function work on the EXIF data in the file?

No. It is one reason it is there. Looks at whole file. AFAIK.

  • How does "Select Ignore Suspected Duplicates" work?

During import, if I select "Ignore Suspected Duplicates" how does LR decide if a given picture is a duplicate? The on-line help doesn' say.

It is looking for actual, same name and file type duplicates. Basicly with this unchecked it will re-impmort images you have already imported so you will have more than one copy and the will be reported under an 'Already in Library listing under 'Previous Import'.
It does not apply to differently named same images or same named (including extension) different images.

  • Import from current location ... when using a memory card

This thread from a long time ago seems to indicate it can't be done.  Is this still true?
Re: Lightroom 4.3 won't add to catalog without moving
If so -- why?  I often use my large CF and SD cards as temporary external hard drives... it would be great to be able to import from them.  This is particularly true on my laptop -- which has limited HDD space, but has a built-in card reader.
If the issue in the above thread has been fixed, and there is, indeed, a way to import from a card without copying...   how can it be done?  I can't seem to find it in LR 5.5.   The only work around I've found is to import them from an actual HDD on a different system... then I can move that catalog to the laptop and use 'find missing folder' to point the missing folder to the memory card.   Obviously this takes forever and is hideously inefficient.

It can be done using a plugin like OttomanicImporter (or FileListener), or a script like in MiscLrScripts (e.g. "Choose files via OS and add to catalog.."). - those were written by me, and are free.

    No.
You can run CS3 at the same time as CS6 Cloud.

Yes, you can run the traditional licensed versions of your Creative Suite applications at the same time you run the Creative Cloud applications."
All Adobe apps install into their own separate folders.

Geolocation isn't supported in the Emulator. You'll have to set up a test case that gives the geolocation without relying on the Emulator.

  • Map directions won't load unless using current location

Does anyone else have this problem with the Maps app?
If I map a location, then ask for directions to or from my "current location," the routes display immediately. But if I try to use any other location (for example, from my contacts), it displays a "Loading..." message and stalls. This happens even with a strong wi-fi connection.
This is an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1 with Verizon. My Maps app is using the standard view without traffic.

Mine doesn't stall under your exact scenario... it displays the route(s) immediately.
Try shutting down the Maps app..
From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
Tap and hold any icon until they wiggle
Press the red to delete the Maps app from this list.
Press the home button twice when done.
    Restart Maps and try again
Also, try a reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Hi, using iphoto 6, i suddenly lost albums: they are still in the directory, but no pictures in some albums.Using finder, I can locate the pictures and even get preview. But impossible to import them. Anyone can help? thanks

Hi, using iphoto 6, i suddenly lost albums: they are still in the directory, but no pictures in some albums.Using finder, I can locate the pictures and even get preview. But impossible to import them. Anyone can help? thanks

Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Using import script to read data from another location

    Hi,
I need to find a way to import, in one location, the data of all other locations (with some additional transformations) using an integration script.
I think I should be able to read from the recordset returned by farsTable, but I need to know how to find the table name that contains the data from my other locations.
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien

First you will need to read the tpovlocation table to get the location key and segment key for each location to be read. You can then either read the relevent tdataseg(index) table where the index is the segment key from the location table, or alternatively you could try to access the data from the View (which i think is Vdata) in which case you you will not need the segment key.

  • How to reset "Use your current location" setting?

Today, I downloaded an app that when I first ran it it asked me if it "could use my current location". I mistakenly touched the "Don't Allow" selection. I really wanted the app to use my current location.
Now it is not asking me to use my current location, instead it simply states "Your location could not be determined".
I went into settings hoping that I would find the app listed there and that I could change a setting to force it to use my current location, but discovered that the app is not listed in the settings apps grouping.
I deleted the app and then went to the app store and reinstalled it, all to no avail.
Anyone got an idea about how this "use my current location" can be restored?

An easier route is to go to Settings -> General -> Location Services
It will list all the apps that can use location services and you can turn them on or off.

  • Aperature Import - storing files in their current location

I imported my archive of photos from my server into Aperture while continuing to store my files in their current location.
I noticed about 5 folders were skipped. (I have them organized in years back to 1968, and only 5 years didn't import) All have sub folders of .jpg files.
When I went back to import these folders individually into the project, from the project folder using the import icon, I don't get a button to import them. It says "no files to import"
When I try to ad them right clicking on what I want to be the parent folder and adding a folder, I can select the folder, click import, and a dialog box pops up saying "Import incomplete, 0 images have been imported into your library."
I can't seem to figure out why these files were skipped and why I can't import them?
    Any ideas?

    Hi MtnMac2;
Have you attempted to open any of these photo with any other application?

  • My AVI will not import to PE12. They want to load as audio only. Using Windows 7.

My AVI files will not import to Premiere Elements 12. They want to load as audio only. Currently using Windows 7.

Just a reminder to those reading your thread...at the onset I wrote
There are certain .avi files with certain video compression that can be highly problematic, such as,
    AVCHD.avi
And, we have been pursuing that line of troubleshooting by use of the conversion of the AVCHD.avi to an .mp4 file. Right now, the issue is not which method, but getting the export settings of the conversion method correct. It would appear that your conversion settings with Koyote got away from you, especially with the frame size and frame rate.
We need to get an import whose properties match the Premiere Elements project settings, set by you or the project. Right now I am suggesting that you set the project setting manually yourself before you import your converted file, as per the how to toward the bottom of the following.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
But, first the conversion...by whatever method you select, I am suggesting the following H.264.mp4 as a 4:3 file.
Go back to the AVCHD (H.264).avi and convert it to H.264.mp4.
    Let us target for
    Frame Width 640 pixels
    Frame Height 480 pixels
Frame Rate 29.97 frames per second
Pixel Aspect Ratio 1.0.  (also known as Square Pixels)
Then open Premiere Elements to the Expert workspace File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
    Change the project preset to
    NTSC
    FLIP
    Flip Mino and Ultra 29_97p
Do not forget the check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space" as you exit the new project dialog.
Then import your converted H.264.mp4 file into Premiere Elements with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the file to the Timeline. There should be no black borders anywhere.
Does Koyote conversion offer the settings that I mentioned. If not, we can discuss using HandBrake which I thought might be easier and quicker to use.
Please review and then let us decide if we are on course.
    Thanks.

  • I just got a retro clock from brookstone and in setting it up it asked if I want to use current location which is incorrectly "Buffalo" but I do not know how to change it.  Can anyone help me find where to change location?

I just got a retro clock from brookstone and in setting it up it asked if I want to use current location which is incorrectly "Buffalo" but I do not know how to change it.  Can anyone help me find where to change location?

As I understand it, Apple gets your location from the wi-fi router to which your iPod is connected.  Location Services identifies the router and then checks for its location in Apple's database.  If the router has been recently relocated or if there is a glitch in Apple's database, you will get an incorrect location.  I don't think that there is anything you can do about it.  You could send Apple a message about the error, but I doubt if they would do anything about it.

  • Import Default Bin Location Using OITW - ItemWarehouseInfo.xlt

I am trying to import default bin locations in SAP B1 v9.00.058 PL.06.
I created a new OITW template using the Data Transfer Workbench, and then insert my data. I am only using two collumns from this template since I just want to specify the Default BIN for every item code. See attached for the original template as well as a test import file.
I followed the following steps for importing this data in the DTW
    1. Master Data
    2. Update Existing
    3. Inventory - Item Master Data
    4. Choose update file (See attached Test.txt), next to "ItemWarehouseInfo"
    5. Run Update
When running the import I get an error message Update Failed "1470000335 Bin location not enabled for warehouse "Warehouse name"
The strange thing for me is that this error is probably quite logical, since my update file only specifies the Item Code and the Default Bin Location, how will SAP know which warehouse this Bin Location is to be configured for.
I would assume that it should be possible to specify a combination of the ItemCode and WarehouseCode when importing a default Bin Location, but the default OITW template, only uses the ItemCode as it's ParentKey.
Any suggestions? We have about several thousands of bin locations to be updated so the DTW is probably our only alternative?

    Hi,
I have tried the above solution and it is not working. The DTW tries to set the Default BIN Locations for the first warehouse in the OWHS table. In our case this specific warehouse does not have Bin Locations enabled. We have several warehouses in the OWHS table and we want to import bin locations for specific warehouses. In our case it is the warehouse in Line 5 in the OWHS table.
We have tried to set the linenum field to 5 in the OITW import template but DTW still tries to import the bin locations to the same (first) warehouse.
