Will we ever get unlimited data again?

Hi,
I'm a semi-happy customer.  I'm contemplating buying the Samsung Galaxy S4, but with a phone that great, you really need unlimited data.  It gets expensive to purchase more data constantly, especially since my bill is already $125.00.  With unlimited data plans on competitors service (starting at $69) how will we do with customer retention?

It will happen, but maybe not in my lifetime.  Someone imagined GPS and now we have it.  OTA radio and tv is free and unlimited.
OTA TV might not last much longer with the FCC asking for more and more spectrum for wireless. Also those are ONE way communications. Obviously that takes much less bandwidth. Obviously takes much less bandwidth to broadcast ONE signal to a million people than to have a million people stream your content.

  • PETITION TO GET UNLIMITED DATA AGAIN

I am very sure that Verizon (or someone from verizon) reads these community forums, so I would like to start a petition to get unlimited data back for $30 or even better $20.  Verizon, if you are reading this, please let me know how many signatures of Verizon Community Forums users I will need in order to get you to reinstate unlimited data.  I have heard your reasons, but they do not please me.  So we (the people) can make a stand to be treated fairly and not be taken advantage of by these companies.  Please sign this petition.  Aren't you tired of paying $30 for only 2 GB or $100 for 12 GB a month!?!?!?!?!

I mean this in the most polite way, but I am not asking you to tell me that it is over... I am asking for support.  Okay, please do not take this as me yelling at you, I am simply saying this is a petition.  I know that virtually everyone is dissatisfied with the abandonment of the unlimited data plan.  I am just trying to get signatures in order to verify it so that Verizon will once again have unlimited data.  Unlimited data is in such high demand that there must be dozens of forums in the Verizon community about it.  Well, taking all of that into consideration, I move to make a petition.

  • Will I lose my unlimited date plan if...

....I simply switch to a 4G LTE device?
I am currently using a family members upgrade in order to switch to the iPhone 5. I am not upgrading on my account because I don't have an upgrade. I am simply switching phones. So will I still lose my unlimited data plan? The policy states that customers upgrading to a 4G LTE device will lose their plan. But again, I'm not actually upgrading...just transferring my number to a a new device.

        Hi there KM536986 and community!
Getting the new iPhone 5 is super exciting! This would be considered "providing your own equipment" if you bring the phone from an outside source, such as another account.
This means you will not lose your Unlimited Data plan.  Keep in mind that the warranty provided through us directly doesn't transfer, but Apple still provides warranty for the year you have the phone.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Will I lose my Unlimited Data plan?

Hi, I currently have an LG Vortex, which I got sometime in June of this year when I was scheduled for an update. Obviously, my phone isn't ready for an update yet, but if I take in a phone I already have (such as my father's, which he's giving me because he's getting himself an iPhone) and take it into Verizon to have them switch me over to that one (which is a Droid 2), will I lose the unlimited data plan I have currently on my phone since they got rid the the unlimited data recently?
Basically, by switching phones, will I lose my data plan?
And also, since I'm not buying a new phone, that's not technically updating, so I don't have to pay for the early update fee, right?
    Thanks.

I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for over 15 years. I recently found out that there is no advantage to continuing as a customer. Not only will I now be charged a $30 fee to stay their customer upon renewal (this is supposed to be okay since everyone else is doing it), my plan will automatically be changed for our whole family and I will now be paying more a month for less service. So the benefits of staying a customer used to be grandfathering the plan you have, great renewal perks, and no fees; all gone. Why stay? No reason to. Thank you Verizon.
So the response from 4/2/12 is outdated.  You cannot keep your (grandfather) old plan.  That is a perk that has been taken away.

  • Nokia 5800 - Will it ever get fixed?

Well i have had a few problems with my phone the main one is that the browser just closes on its own and you have to start from scratch and then it does it again, now my network provider know about the problem but say they are waiting for nokia to release a fix, but nokia dont seem in any rush as its been 10 months since the last one.
    V40.0.005
So will it ever get a software fix or are 3 just fobing me off?
    Thanks

    @thebug
Latest available firmware for 5800 is V51, I found the browser is good and not crashing as it used to be before. You have to push 3 to release this firmware from their end, hope you've got the device from them.
If a reply has solved your problem click Accept as solution button, doing it will help others know the solution. Thanks.

  • Is there any way I could get unlimited data?

I am looking to get a new phone but I hate having only 2gb. So does anyone know how I can still get unlimited data?

Take over someone's line who has unlimited, but then you will not be able to get a 2 year contract for a phone.

    hi gurus,
wat is multiprovider wat mechanism it will use to get the data? can we create multiprovider on one cube?wat is the advantage?

    Hi
A MultiProvider is a type of InfoProvider that combines data from a number of InfoProviders and makes them available as a whole to reporting. The MultiProvider does not itself contain any data. Its data comes entirely from the InfoProviders on which it is based. These are combined using a union operation.
InfoProviders and MultiProviders are the objects or views that are relevant for reporting.
MultiProviders only exist as a logical definition. The data is still saved in the InfoProviders it is based on.
A query based on a MultiProvider is divided into sub-queries internally. There is a sub-query for each InfoProvider in the MultiProvider. These sub-queries are usually processed in parallel.
    ADV
A MultiProvider allows reporting using several InfoProviders.
InfoCube and InfoCube: You have an InfoProvider with actual data for a logically
closed business area and an equivalent InfoProvider with plan data. You can
combine the two InfoProviders into one MultiProvider so that you can compare
the actual data with the planned data of a query.
InfoCube and InfoObject: You have an InfoCube with your products and sales.
Combine the InfoObject 0MATERIAL with it. In this way you can display the
"slow-moving items" since products that do not result in sales are also displayed.
Ya you can create multiprovider for one cube but what is need to create for single cube ?

Will Oracle ever create a Data Guard Certification?
If so would it be more of a "HA" - high availability,

We have a Data Guard Admin certification coming soon. Unfortunately, I don't have a closer date than that.

  • If I use a family member's upgrade in the family plan, will they lose their unlimited data?

Hi there. So since my birthday is next week, and I'm on a family plan with my parents and 2 brothers, they're letting me use someone's upgrade to get the iPhone 5 since my upgrade isn't due until November. The upgrade that's available now is my older brother's. He is so paranoid that if I use his upgrade, he'll lose his unlimited data. Is this true? I know that I'll lose mine, which is fine, but he does a lot of stuff with his iPhone and doesn't want to lose it yet. So if I use his upgrade, will we both lose the unlimited data or just me?

Actually the way I understand it, your brother will lose his unlimited data but you will retain yours.
Because the upgrade is coming from his line, that line of service must select a tiered data plan.
Your line is, in effect not changing (you will just be activating a different phone) so the data plan is not affected.
Hope this clears it up for you.
    Good luck & Happy Birthday

  • Switching to an old Basic phone for a week.... will I lose my unlimited data plan?

I have a Droid Incredible. It sold on ebay sooner than anticipated. So I need to activate my old LG EnV until Jan 7th when I can upgrade to a new phone (because the Incredible will get shipped out first thing in the morning to my buyer, and I'll still need a phone for those 5 days in between!)
The LG EnV is not a smartphone. It does not require a data plan. Will my data plan get cancelled when I enable this phone? I have an unlimited data plan that I was grandfathered into. I don't want to lose it. When I get my Galaxy Nexus I plan to take advantage of my data plan!!! lol

Speaking from personal experience, my wife's Droid had become unuseable at one point and we had to activate an old dumbphone for her while waiting for the replacement.  I posed the question several times about the unlimited data and the rep on the phone made a note on my account. After we got the replacement, the unlimited data was back on, and I had a reference just in case.

  • Will I lose my unlimited data if I upgrade from an Android to an iphone?

I am due for an upgrade in a few months and I am really leaning towards the new iphone. My question is...I have an unlimited family data plan, if I switch to an iphone will I be forced to change data plans? I work in litigation and I use a lot of data. My bill is already outrageous and I don't want to have to pay their ridiculous data charges on top of the $30 "smartphone data plan" charges for both phones.

If you have an old calling plan, you may not have much of a choice but to change plans.  If your plan is relatively new, as mentioned above, you can keep your unlimited data by paying full retail price for your phone, getting the phone from somewhere like ebay (Best Buy and the like will also result in the loss of your unlimited data), or try swapping/adding lines.  Also, if you aren't aware, as of this spring there is a $30 upgrade fee.

  • How much space does my Organizer hold? Will it ever get  full?

Hi, I was just wondering how many pic's will my Organizer hold? Will it ever run out of space? Cause I sure do have alot in there now. Windows xp with 512 of ram.
    Thanks, [email protected]

Thanks for the correction. Yes, the file size in Jet 4.0 was changed to 2
gigabytes. I had forgotten that. I've been retired two years for Heaven's
sake. However, within the context that I brought it up, it was only to
tease a little bit :-) by indicating that there is a physical limit
to the size of the database and, hence, a limit to the number of entries --
    i.e. it's not unbounded. Whether it's 1 or 2 gigabytes, it's still finite.
And, for Organizer, it hardly matter much because performance issues would
probably create a practical limit long before the physical limit was
    reached.
Jet 4.0 was the last version of the Jet database engine and that was
superceded by the Microsoft Desktop engine (MSDE) and (as of the time of my
retirement at least) was deprecated as a component of the Microsoft Data
Access Components (MDAC). Time marches on. I understand that Microsoft is
replacing MSDE with SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and that standard
support of MSDE will cease at the end of next year. Taking all that into
account, I think I can be forgiven for opining JET obsolete. :-) I have not
heard of a new version of JET in the works. If you have, more power to you.
Being retired, I no longer need to keep on top of database developments or
    care to. :-) :-) :-)
Time to get back on topic.

  • From prepaid to postpaid - will I retain my unlimited data?

Hello all, I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for around 8 or 9 months. When I first started out, I bought a used smartphone (BB Curve 8530) that I knew for a fact was eligible for activation on a prepaid plan. I've been satisfied with my service for the past few months, had no issue with it. The thing is, if I converted my account to a postpaid account, would I retain my unlimited data and be able to use a different, higher-end device with the service I'm paying for?
