  • I want to sync a second ipod touch to itunes, however my daughter has some how registered the new ipod  under my sons old one, she has deleted asll content and i have now reset it, how do i stop it being recognised as the old one

my daughters new ipod touch is being recognised as my sons old one on itunes, this has caused the ipod to lock and she has lost all content. i now want to get itunes to recognise her new ipod , but it is still recognising it as the old one, how can i sort this out

Does both your Windows and Macbook iTunes have the same library of songs?
if it  does then, much easier to proceed, else try to load the Macbook with the same library as Windows.
Note that only one of the Macbook USB port is good for iPod Classic, the other is too slow and may cause timeout, and I would suggest disconnect all other USB devices, while you Restore or Sync the iPod Classic.
Connect the iPod to the Mac, (if iTunes launch, please close it back.)
Use Disk Utility -> select the iPod Device->First Aid->Repair (use option FAT32)
After the Repair complete, eject the iPod.
    Connect back to the Mac
When iTunes launch, Restore the iPod when Prompted, (use FAT32)
    Sync your library.
    Good Luck!

  • Can the new ipod nano do the "on the go" playlist?

I have a 4th gen nano and I had to make my own playlist folder, call it "on the go" and then I could use it by holding down a song title to put it in there, you know how it works. I'm hoping that the brand new ones can do the same thing, but I see that if you hold down the screen it's takes you back to "home". I wonder if there's another way to create an "on the go" quickly editable playlist?

I totally put this in the wrong area of the boards, but it's a question about the 6th gen and there's no topic area for it yet.

  • Does anybody know if the new ipod nano displays the full song title if its really long?

i'm looking to buy one. I have an old zune hd and it doesn't allow you to view full song titles. It's a huge problem if you have a lot of classical music (which i do), because you see stuff like "Symphony No. 4 in" and then nothing else, no way to get more

The title should scroll, but I"m not positive if it does that on all models.

  • HT1727 I lost my old iPod and bought a new one. The old one had many of MY personally owned and legally bought CDs on it. I have those iTunes backed up ant now I can't seem to "synch" them to the new iPod nano.

I can't seem to synch my new iPod nano to the legally purchased music from CDs that had been on my old iPod which I've lost.
I had a backup of all those iTunes that I want to import to the new nano.
How can I "synch" the new iPod nano to the music I see in an iTune library? The new iPod nano displays "no music" and
    doesn't play anything.

    Hello PrettyinPinkInk,
You might consider restoring the iPhone, then removing the SIM card after activating the iPhone, so as to use it as an iPod Touch. This should prevent any unwanted association with a phone number, and thus, voicemail, as well.

  • Will the New Ipod Nano works with this accessorie?

    Hey guys
i was wondering if the New iPod nano will work with the Belkin Tunebase for iPod nano ..
    http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=257293
    http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000EEZ2R8.01-AIWHEFKG4HT6N.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
    does anyone knows something about??
    thank you

It does not work..though it isn't mentioned anywhere. I called Belkin; they recommened another of their products. I'm not sure who I am more disappointed with...Apple for not mentioning that their second generation nano isn't fully compatable with all of the first generation accessories...or Belkin, who had a difficult time figuring out their accessories aren't compatable with the second generation nano.
Either way, be very careful when you purchase anything for a second generation iPod nano. Or don't buy the second generation nano if you plan on using a lot of accessories.

  • Will the new Ipod nano support apps?

Will the new Ipod Nano (8th Gen) support apps?

None of the Ipod Nanos are compatible for Apps, only Ipod touches, Iphones and Ipads.

  • Can the new iPod nano get health kit for fitness tracking?

In conjunction with the Nike app, I was wondering if the new iPod Nano could obtain HealthKit for fitness tracking? The iWatch is too small for me. Thanks.

No the new one *****, we need the 6th generation to come back!

  • Will the new iPod Nano fit in my speakers?

I recently bought an Intempo RDI Speaker for my iPod Classic. It's last years iPod Classic (80GB). I was wondering whether the new iPod Nano (4th Gen) would work in my new speaker. Because i don't want to spend more money updating my speaker which i have just bought. I'm hoping the iPod Nano has the normal dock thing so it will fit.

It has a dock connector so it should play music fine. But the new iPods only charge on 5 volts (the older ones could charge on 5 or 12). If your speakers charge with 12 volts they will not charge the new iPods.
A lot of devices charge at 12 volts (even Apples own Hi-Fi) but most companies seem to be keeping this secret, if you are lucky there will be an FAQ on the company website that will tell you if it's compatible with the iPhone G3 (the first 5v only device).

  • Will the new ipod touch have the same fitness, no shoe insert, ability that the new nano will have

Will the new ipod touch have the same "fitness", no shoe insert needed, ability that the new nano will have?

Yes, it acualy does, witch I found suprising.

  • About how many songs will the new iPod Nano 16GB hold?

About how many songs will the new iPod Nano 16GB hold?

That depends on a number of variables including how long the songs are and the quality of the format.
A 4 minute song downloaded from iTunes (256k format) is 8MB. That would give you about 1,625 songs if you had nothing else on the Nano.

  • Some Feedback on the New iPod Nano

    Hey!
I really would like to get the new ipod Nano. I have never had an iPod before. I have been reading a lot of websites, forum posts here and MacRumors, iLounge, Cnet, as many places on the web as I could find that seemed to have credible info on the new iPods. I think the Touch is too difficult for my non-techie brain to handle and the shuffle does not have the FM Tuner. I read some good things about the Nano, mostly from exercisers, which is why I am buying it. But, I read more negative posts about the iPod Nano from people calling it a major mistake, a waste of money, etc. So after reading all the negative stuff about it I wanted to find out if this stuff is true, just due to the new Nano being so different then the previous Nano or what.
There seemed to be a lot of people bringing them back since they could not turn it off, but in my research it appears the Nano does not "turn off" per se but if done right it will sleep and not use hardly any battery power. There has been some complaints about the ear phone jack not inserting tight enough so it moves around and causes some crackling noise when using the ear phones. I would be getting some higher-end ear phones, but not sure if that would help or affect the antenna component that is in the ear phone cord of the Apple ear phones that come with the Nano.
I read some good things about it too. I was disappointed when I read that you can't sort the music into certain genre tunes or various exercise music according to beats per min once it is transferred to the Nano. I have no idea if this is true, what is true but really is not a big deal for a person using it for exercise.
I read from a lot of posts that this was a big mistake on Apple's part. I listened to the Nano at the Apple Store, it sounded OK to me. I have not seen any cases for it to keep the sweat off of it and when I do exercise, especially run and bike, I sweat like a pig--oh, pigs do not sweat.
Any feedback about all of these kinds of rumors or facts? Anybody care to share with me with their experience? Any opinions on the ear phone that come with the Nano or the Apple in the ear phones. Also, is it necessary to get the USB (white) charge adapter the iPhone uses for this ipod? I hear it can be plugged into the computer but if it sleeps it does not charge it. I have no idea how long it takes for an empty battery to fully charge.
I was also wondering what the 30 pin adaptor or the adaptor that comes with the Nano, is for. Is that to hook up to a dock?
Thanks for any opinions, thoughts, suggestions that anybody wants to share with me.

Feedback from individuals is neither rumor nor fact. It's just their opinion. How much credence to give the opinions of people you don't know is always a challenging question. I tend to give less to people who sound like their whining or who obviously have unrealistic expectaions or didn't do their research or won't even try to troubleshoot issues. People who sound reasonable, who give a balanced evaluation (i.e. NOT "This Nano is the worst thing Apple ever made!!!"), I'll pay more attention to.
I have one. I like it. Because of the cold weather and busy season at work, I haven't done much running in the last month. My Nano has been sitting, asleep on my nightstand. Hardly any battery drain. Yes, most computers wont' charge through the USB port if they are asleep. I use mine often enough that I don't have any problem charging my Nano.
Can't answer your questions about sorting by genre as I never do that and I don't have the Nano here with me to look at it. I make playlists based on BPM on my computer. This works for me.
I replace my 3rd gen Shuffle with this Nano. I liked the size of the Shuffle but was never happy with not having a screen. I'd always end up unable to find what I wanted to listen to. With the Nano, I have the benefits of the size, the clip but I can easily find what I want.
In my personal opinion all the headsets Apple ships with iPods are horrible. They are uncomfortable and won't stay in my ears. I throw them away. I have a pair of Etymotic ER6i's that I love. They are in canal, passive noise cancelling headsets that are not that expensive. The fit me. I can sleep in them. They don't fall out when running. There are lots of opinions on headsets.
I sweat a lot when I run. I just don't clip the Nano inside my clothes. Or where sweat from my face would drip on it.
So, I think the Nano works very well for the type of exercise I do. I've been very satisfied.

  • How do I transfer songs from my old ipod touch to the new ipod nano?

I just got the new Ipod nano and I want to get the music i already have to transfer from my old ipod touch to the new nano, how can I do this?

If your iPod touch music is in your iTunes library, you just need to sync the new iPod nano with iTunes, the songs will be transfer to your new iPod. If not, you can follow this guide to transfer the songs from iPod touch to iTunes first, and then re-sync them to your new iPod. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

I am from Germany. I have a Question to the iPod nano 1st gen replacement program: Can I upgrade to Ipod touch 8GB? The new Ipod nano Generation is too smal for my hands

Hello! Not a problem, because you will get a Ipod Nano 1st generation as a replacement, not a new / latest generation.
