  • Xperia arc S will not get Jelly Beans

    Closed toppic, multiple posts.
As officially stated on Facebook, Xperia arc S and mini pro will not get Jelly beans update.
    http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/07/26/official-2011-sony-xperia-handsets-will-not-get-android-4-1-jel...
As a conclusion of this, Jelly Beans will not be rolled out to any 2011 phone, as the arc S is the last and top model of the 2011 line.
One of the best things in this facebook post is the proposal to buy a new phone...
This proved again to be a lie of Sony, stating that they will support and update phones for at least 18 months.

there are a lot of simillar posts like this, you can try to search the forum ,

  • Will the Droid Razr get Jelly Bean?

I want to know if the Droid Razr will ever get the Jelly bean?

It's still on Motorola's schedule, but no release date.

  • When are we getting Jelly Bean for GS3?

Now that Jelly Bean is officially released for GS3, when will VZW release it to its customers? I hope they don't take as long as it took for GB to be released on Fascinate. I would hate to get it from XDA before VZW

Well the international GS3 in UK, ASIA are getting the Jelly Bean update tomorrow as we speak. As far as the US goes, hopefully soon enough...

  • Now even the Canadians get Jelly Bean before VZW customers

I thought everyone else EXCEPT FOR VERIZON had already updated to JB
    http://www.androidcentral.com/jelly-bean-rolling-out-canadian-galaxy-nexus-phones
    Well done Verizon. Well done.

I recently emailed vzw about my dissatisfation with the lack of info pertaining to updates, and that any info is good just to tell people they are working on it. I was shocked when I received an informative replay and said it was unofficial of course to cover themselves.
The email stated they are having problems with the JB Gnex update and it pertains to the radios. They have to create new radios for the update for it to be released and that it will be a few weeks before the update will be released.
I posted the email over at androidcentral forums with screenshots of the email in the Galaxy nexus forum as proof. The email was censored poorly though from the sender and when it went into details about the radios and problems someone deleted a paragraph and left a half written sentence. so I guess outgoing emails from verizon are censored too like these forums here.

  • Will the LG Lucid get Jelly Bean anytime soon?

I want to know, is the LG lucid going to get the newest version of Android anytime soon. LG tells me to go to Verizon to answer this question.

Agreed. So much for customer satisfaction. The shareholders come first.
It has NOTHING to do with shareholders.
Verizon does not develop and manufacturer the device.  LG does...  It's their job to update their phones, and submit an update for testing.  If LG doesn't you will not get an update.  Same goes for ANY manufacturer out there.
Verizon doesn't care if you get updated or not.  They make money off the services the provide.  They don't care if you are on 2.3.6, 4.0, 4.1.1 and such.  LG makes money from the sale of the device, and the Lucid probably didn't sell well enough for LG to make an attempt to update the device.
Actually it's selling quite well. And while my little area means nothing in the grand scheme it's actually one of the most popular phones being bought at the local Verizon store. And it's certainly the most popular budget phone.
I have this phone and I'm fine with it. I'm not sure what the difference is between Gingerbread 2.3.6 and ICS but I'm fine with the current OS. Probably my main beefs are the app layout choices and I hate the talk bubble in messaging. And yes I realize I can get a 3rd party app for messaging but I shouldn't need to. My old phone was an LG Ally and I liked the simpler messaging layout.

  • Sony says 2011 Xperia phones might get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Hi! looks like not all is lost!
    http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2195619/sony-says-2011-xperia-phones-might-get-android-41-j...

The information has been confirmed on the product blog (http://blogs.sonymobile.com/products/2012/07/31/on-android-4-1-jelly-bean/).
At least, it shows that Sony has not let their customers and older products down, contrary to what is said by some angry and impatient customers. Yes, software development takes time, and Sony may have been a little fast to release its ICS for every phones. But this news proves that Sony is looking into every possibility to improve its users experience.
I heartily hope that my neo v will get Jelly Bean and its new functions, with improved performances compared to ICS. So thank you Sony for considering it.

  • Jelly Bean Xperia T Upgrade Issues

I upgraded my Xperia T to Jelly Bean yesterday and have now found that the flashlight app and the flash/torch on the camera app no longer function, anyone else had this issue and how do I resolve this??

Haven't heard about this before actually. Have you tried just repairing the software or perform a reset after the update?

  • When does the Droid Razr Maxx get the Jelly Bean Update????

This update was promised before the end of the year! It went out through a mistake to a couple users on December 24th. So when will we get it?

I don't ever remember seeing anywhere that it was promised before Jan 1st. According to Moto's site it has always been and is still listed as:
    DROID RAZR (XT912)
ICS (Android 4.0.4) rollout began in June 2012. Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
    DROID RAZR MAXX (XT912)
ICS (Android 4.0.4) rollout began in June 2012. Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)

  • Jelly bean for neo V

    Hi,
whether we will get jelly bean update for neo V product ? we are eagerly waiting for this.
    Thanks,
    A. Peter Jerald.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

indeed, ICS source code was release November last year and Sony started rolling out a buggy ICS 4.0.3 April. about 6 months and it was only available for few devices.
Jelly Bean source code was released mid July, assuming it will take them 6 months then most likely ICS is the end for the 2011 Xperias.
But I really hope that Sony stop the lies and don't try to say that it's a hardware limitation issue as to not to update the 2011 Xperias.

  • Why won't my home wifi work after jelly bean update?

My phone updated to jelly bean on tuesday morning, and i noticed i cannot connect to my home wifi.  It will connect at school or work however.  I have tried turning off and on my phone and my router.  I know its not my connection because my other devices all connect to it.  When i go to the wifi on my phone, it detects my home wifi with a full signal, but when i put the password in to connect, it says the signal is poor and it just repeatedly tries to connect.  Is there any way that i can get my wifi to work again?  If i have to and if there is a way i will uninstall jelly bean if thats the only way to get it to work again.

Here is my current situation with a brand new Razr HD:
    -Linksys WRT54GL with updated firmware
-New Razr HD purchased 5 days ago
    -System Version: 9.16.6.X926
    -Android Version 4.1.2
    -Build Number 9.8.1Q-62_VQW_MR-2
My Mom got the same phone at the same time and has dropped calls, poor wifi signal and range, etc.
I have fully set up my phone with apps and all settings perfect, cleared the system cache, one factory reset and input all app usernames and passwords again, etc.
My phone is perfect, except for not connecting to wifi in a room downstairs from the router where all other devices, a Nook, 10-year old DELL laptop, and Droid Incredible get 4 full bars of wifi strength. This Razr does not connect at all and rarely if it does when I leave the door open gets one bar of strength and is useless.
I love the phone so much I am reluctant to swap it out and lose all my app settings and customization. I read that it isn't mattering if you swap it out, still the same problem. But it's bothering me and I want it right so I went to the Verizon store today to test it and swap it out for a new different one. They don't perform tests and didn't know what I was talking about. Very abrasive staff and manager tried to research the issue for a half an hour, then said they had a call in to Motorola. If I wanted to swap it out I could but that would be my one swap and that's it.
I have actually spent so much time and effort on this I wanted to get a MAXX HD for my wasted time and frustration. That is simply out of the question. I stood there with my phone connected to the Verizon wifi network in the store with one bar of wifi strength, while the display connected to the same network showed a full network signal all bars.
They were so abrasive, demanding that it doesn't matter how many wifi bars you get it will still connect to the Internet. I said no that's not true this device will not connect in my bedroom while all other old devices get full wifi strength. They didn't care.
They were so reluctant in the matter that I decided to walk out and watch for an update to Jelly Bean to solve the issue. People are taking their phones back and it doesn't fix this. It seems to be strictly a Jelly Bean update fix.
I will watch my phone, only use wifi in large areas that usually work fine, etc. My question is: When will there be a Jelly Bean update pushed out to Razr HD owners on Jelly Bean so they will have comparable wifi and signal strength to every other wifi enabled device that exists?
    Thanks
PS. I have tried every single router and phone setting mentioned on any forum. Same thing. This requires a 2nd update.

  • New Updated Jelly Bean List

The updated Jelly Bean List is out and the phones that will receive it is on the List and the one's that may or may not receive it is on there as Well and For the owners with a Razr or Razr Maxx it might be time to hold your breath because there not giving a time line when the Device will receive it. And it might be the phone won't get it all.. this makes my Happy Factor drop a few Steps.. b33
    http://www.droid-life.com/2012/09/14/when-is-my-android-phone-getting-jelly-bean-verizon/

All the specs are the same for the Razr.  They all use the same kernels and drivers.  There is no reason if they gave certain ones an update and not the others.
Keep in mind Verizon honestly doesn't care if the manufacturers update the devices or not.  They make money off the services, but since people will automatically blame Verizon for botched updates they want to test them first(which ends up taking the update to longer time frame).  If the update doesn't happen it's because of Motorola.

  • Jelly Bean OS Upgrade

Is the Tablet S scheduled to get Jelly Bean? If so, when?
    Thx,
    TL

Is the Tablet S scheduled to get Jelly Bean? If so, when?
I sure hope the rumors are true about the Tablet S getting Android 4.1 before the end of August. Sony standing behind its product with one of the earliest releases of Android 4.0 was the number one reason I bought the tablet. (I didn't realize at the time how useful I'd find the infrared A/V controls.)
Here's what I found. This device is not getting any more support.
I know I'm just feeding the troll, but where did you find this out?
in fact, ice cream sandwich actually halved the playback of avi and .264 video.
My understanding is that the support didn't change, but the recommended bitrates were changed based on nVIDIA's suggestions. And not to say that better performance isn't appreciated, but ultra-high bitrates seem pretty pointless in most situations.
just for instance, on your android phone, tap a picture in your gallery and you can
    upload to picasa
    more options
if you go to the tablet to share a pic you took, you have these options:
    NONE
I have all of the standard sharing options with my gallery application (including Picasa, email, and all of the applications I have installed).
In fact, the only two issues I run into are the flicker (which I haven't seen since switching to Apex launcher) and the sleep of death (which I avoid simply by rebooting the tablet every three or four days).
