Will You Repair My Cricket Usb Charging Port?

Alright, here's the gist of it all. My ZTE X500 by Cricket's usb charger port is BROKEN. I have a very difficult time trying to charge my phone, if it'll even try! It's broken at no fault of my own, and I need it fixed ASAP. Should I try to buy a universal charging pad, or can you guys fix it? If you can fix it, how much would that cost and how long would it take? My Cricket is barely a month old. Please HELP! Thanks!

Bring it to the store to see your options. If they deem the port problem not due to accidental damage, the store might be able to exchange it under manufacturer warranty.

  • Curve 8330 usb/charging port issues.

My 8330 just started to have problems with its usb/charge port. I plugged it in last night before bed like I always do, but when I woke up it hadn't charged a bit and wasn't even recognizing that it had been plugged in. I tried my USB data cable as well, and that didn't register either unless I wiggled the cord around and held it still once it did register. I eventually did get the phone to register that I had plugged it in, but I had to wiggle the cord just so and leave the charger half-way plugged in once I found the sweet spot.
It is a few years old and pre-owned, but this problem literally just cropped up. I haven't dropped it recently, and I only plug it in once a day. It has no problem holding a charge, but getting it to register the cord is a battle. Do I need to just replace it or is there a way to fix this? There are no other problems, just the port acting up. Thanks!

You can try contacting Sprint for repair options for your device.

The bottom rubber case of my macbook 13" late 2009 has expanded and has detached from the main body..As i'm not presently under warranty i wanted to know will the repair be free of charge for me. I had once got it replaced for free but in warranty. As i read some where in the support that apple had agreed with the defect and had decided to replace the bottom covers without any charge. And even if i'm charged for it what will be the amount  will hav to pay for it..
    Thankx

    Hi,
Here's the Bottom Case Replacement Link
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook-bottomcase/
It doesn't answer your specific questions about cost... but it does advise to contact an Apple Store or an AASP...
Anyway have a look at it... if you haven't already..
    Cheers and Good Luck...

  • Mac Book Pro Power Adapter with USB charge ports?

Does anyone make a MBP power adapter with 2 USB charge ports? It seems logical to have one power adapter that charge your MBP, iPhone and iPad all at the same time while minimizing the things one would have to carry on travel.

    Hopefully!
I said to them "you dont even need to put the ports on the brick itself, put it on that little wall plug adapter thingy... that way if you only want to charge your iOS devices you can leave the brick in the bag!... Fingers crossed and thanks again for the help tjk!
    Best,
    David

  • Can a USB charging port be replaced?

I have a Samsung charge. If I plug in the USB charger, the phone goes blank and freezes. This occurs even if the charger is not connected to power, so I suspect there is a loose connection or unseated port. If I remove the battery and replace, letting it reboot, with charger plugged in, it will show the battery status bar as not charging. I carry 2 extra batteries with me, checked the other 2. Sames issue, so I doubt it is the battery.

If the phone is still under warranty, you should check into the possibility of a warranty replacement. If it's no longer under warranty, it might be worth contacting a cell phone repair shop to see if replacing the charging port is possible. If they can replace it for a reasonable cost, it could solve your problem. Of course, be sure it's a reputable shop.

  • Micro USB/Charging Port...

Is it possible to use the charging port on the side of my Q10 as an extra data port? Can I use a micro usb drive as an external media storage device and access it through the port when I insert the stick, or is it just a charging port?

I highly recommend every Playbook owner have a rapid charger. It is far superior to the USB charger and prevents the problem you have already encountered. Alternatively, I prefer the charging dock. It uses the same charging port as the rapid charger. I just bought one a few days ago for $13. Here is a link:
    http://www.amazon.com/Blackberry-Rapid-Charging-Stand-Playbook/dp/B004XDTXZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=...
It comes with everything you need to charge it. Both chargers do the same thing. I just prefer the dock.

  • Combo built-in power outlet with USB charging ports...

Are iPhones only fully functional while charging on an OEM plug?  We just installed a combination USB charger into our wall and now the touch screen will not work while it is charging?  Anyone else have this particular situation?  We are using a Legrand Pass & Seymour P/N 340982 Combination USB Charger.

Seems the charger is the issue... I have never personally had an issue with using my device while charging via any accessory/cable/charger.

  • Melted USB charging port on 920

I picked my phone up off the desk this morning and tried to remove the USB charging cable from the phone but it wouldn't budge. On close inspection the cable and phones plastic were both melted. Incidentally the other end of the charging cable had been removed from the charger the night before.
the phone works but the charger cable and phone are fused together. Has anyone else seen such a case? Off to Nokia care to get them to take a look.

This should not be the cause of the issue.. but instructions on Pg. 8 of the User Guide states exactly the opposite ...

  • My car charger got stuck in my iPod nano's usb/charge port.

One side releases, but the other feels jammed. I would try ripping it out, but that would risk breaking it to the point where the port is just completely broken. Can Apple fix this problem in anyway? Possibly replacing the iPod or repairing the specific part? I bought this about 2 years ago, it's the nano with the video camera at the bottom.

Ehh.. nevermind. I just ripped it out and it's fine, but if anyone knows the Apple coverage and can answer the question that'd be chill too.

  • USB charging port broken

I have to move my chord a specific place or push it in a different way each time to get the connection to charge my playbook. i've been informed it most likely needs to be sent in to be soldered to be fixed... i don't know where to contact anywhere to send it in or anything! help!!!

Just for future reference, and sanity invest in a rapid charger to prevent this problem. Since the rapid charger uses the magnetic contacts.

  • N97 charger port broken

I am in desperate need of help.... just broke the USB charging port on my phone and need a replacement. I called Nokia and since the phone is out of warranty they will not repair it even if I was willing to pay. I have tried to search online for replacement parts but unsure what part is the correcet replacement as some company doesnt list any picture of the product or if its pictured its not the same as my phone....
    Appreciate any help provided.....
    thanks

@danspy: I would call or form a complaint to Nokia uk explaining the situation. Writing an objective letter/mail or call them might help you out.
I've experienced my self that a Nokia care point has done similar to my N95 8gb I had in the past. A quick call with a decent tone, made them recall the device and fix it again with no further questions.
I actually experienced once that there where sesame seeds in under the lince protective glass on it from one of the repair guys' lunch!
Mostly I've only had pleasant experience with Nokia care points.
Make a call or form a objective complaint. You might try to use the contact us button on the top of this page too. My suggestion is that you wait with any rant before you've got the first response.
    Cheers!

  • How much is it to replace an 8GB Ipod Touch(4th Gen.) Charger Port?

my friend gave me her ipod today because the charger port didn't work anymore, and i researched online that you can easily replace the charging port. I'd like to know if the apple store does that, and if so, how much it will cost? Taxes and everything?
(P.S.) Seeing as the battery is dead and the ipod couldn't charge because of the port i could not turn it on to see the operating system.

Apple will replace the whole device for 199$, check the repair pricing here:

    Hi ohmghimire,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're seeing unexpected behavior when using USB devices, try resetting the SMC on your MacBook Pro:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the article with these steps here:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If you still see this behavior after resetting the SMC, or your computer won't turn on, try the steps in this article next:

  • HT1665 Recently read on a deal site forum page that you can only use Apple lightning cables to charge iPads running iOS 7 or higher. Is that the case or will any 8-pin to USB cable work? Thx in advance for any helpful replies.

Due to a lot of bad press that Apple was getting due to burnt chargers, shocked users (the electrical kind...), etc., due to the lousy third party El Cheapo brand generics, as of iOS 7 the cable must be Apple-certified before the iGadget deigns to use it for charging purposes. Unfortunately (for Apple) the old traditional USB to 30-pin cable is just that, a straight piece of wire, and can't be validated by the iGadget. But lo & behold, the new gear uses the new Lightning cable, which contains an embedded chip that CAN be validated and lousy imitations disabled from use.
