Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager Can't be accessed

Hi Experts,
I installed Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 and executed basic configuration. And I followed the instruction to install wily EM 8.0. But after installation, the web pages http://emhost:8081/workstation and http://emhost:8081/webview cannot be accessed. Error msg is "404 Not Found The requested resource does not exist."
I've checked the wily log and found no errors. How to solve the problem?

Check if the installation of EM 8.0 was successful or not.
For the same, please check <Introscopehome>/install/Introscopeinstall.log.
I am hoping your installation is successful. Then please perform some other checks.
Please start your Introscope Enterprise Manager service from Windows Services [ for other OS please refer to guide]
Check the <IntroscopeHome>/log/IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log
file for an Error entry.. there may be a possibility that the Port 8081 [or 8080] is already in use.
Similar format to error message :::
"EM Web Server did not start.  Port already in use: 8080  To change the Web Server port, modify the EM property: introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port "
If yes, then please modify the \conf\EnterpriseManager.properties file
introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8080            
OR
introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=any other open port

    I just installed Wily Introscope for the first time. I have successfully installed it from the log below:

    I also confirm that the Introscope Enterprise Manager is started as a service.
    However, when i try to launch enterprise by following the path All Programs > CA Wily > Introscope 8.2.3.5 > Introscope Enterprise Manager....
    I get the error below:
    3/29/11 07:11:46 PM PDT [ERROR] [Manager.Bootstrap] Load all Management Modules FAILED.
    3/29/11 07:11:46 PM PDT [ERROR] [Manager] The EM failed to start. Java heap space
    I have also adapted my Java Heap from 512 to 1024 in EMService.conf file but I still get same error. This was the recommendation in this related forum post - Wily Introscope - EM failed to start

    Hello,
    I am configuring the Wily Introscope 7.1 as a step for configure the SMD, and I have a problem starting the Enterprise Manager with the command: <i>nohup ./Introscope_Enterprise_Manager&</i>
    It append an output to 'nohup.out', which display the following error:
    <i>java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.</i>
    I have done every step described in the "Introscope Version 7.1Installation Guide For SAP".
    What could be the problem?

    I see  two explanations:
    (1) The DISPLAY environment variable is not correctly defined on the remote server; and / or
    (2) The computer from which the rsh command is executed does not allow the display of a "frame" from another host.
    In the first case, one could try on the remote computer:
    set DISPLAY=localComputer:0
    export DISPLAY.
    (depends on the shell may be
    setenv DISPLAY systemname:0.0
    where systemname is the name of your workstation, or some remote system where you want the display directed to).
    In the second case, one could try on the local computer:
    xhost+

    Hello, I have a problem with Enterprise Manager. I installed Oracle 10g and the patch 10.2.0.2. After install, I could connect to database from SqlPlus without problems, but when I try to connect from AllPrograms - Oracle - DatabaseControl or since the Web browser with http://servername:1158/em nothing happen. I reviewed the status of dbconsole with emctl status dbconsole but the status is running. I recreated the repository with emca -deconfig.......-repos drop and emca -config ...... -repos create , but nothing happened. I reviewed some threads in this forum, but I didn't find the solution. Finally I could connect from the browser but with http://localhost:1158/em. Do you help me how can I connect from Database Control, because the operators in Computer Center should monitor the instance since there, and when I want to connect since my own PC how can do it?

    Check the network connectivity between db server and pc from where u want to access em.
    Check the listener service.
    Check firewall settings, it should be off.

    NO I mean in oracle 10g you have the enterprise manager which can be used to tune sql statements using the SQL ADvisor and SQL access advisor.
    I believe in oracle 10g the process of SQL Tuning is slightly easier using the Enterprise Manager ...so if some one could explain me that process...

  • Enterprise Manager can't show web-service in the web-services area

    I'm deploying my application(stateless web-service) it work's well, but Enterprise Manager show that it's not a web-service, it can't show application in the web-services area, this fuсking server have many-many-many bugs and errors (fuсking developers was drunken a lot, imho), documentation's have many errors too, and I hate this server, but I need to use it on my work :-(
    p.s. read documentation's carefully it have many errors.

    Could you be more specific about the version of OracleAS you are using?
    - which exact version ? (10.1.3.x, 10.1.2.x or 9.0/x)
    - which kind of Web Service are you developing? (J2EE 1.4/JAX-RPC or earlier version)
    Also if you find bug in the documentation or product please send let the Oracle Support Service knows.

    Each agent can generate 500mb data in the ../traces and ../data directories if this fills up the file system, in case of emergency when can delete the contents of
    /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope/traces
    /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope/data
    Then restart the EM
    To reduce the required space open the ./config/IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties file, and you can find the entries as below:
    introscope.enterprisemanager.transactionevents.storage.max.data.age=N
    #The trace files under "traces" folder will be deleted after N days.
    introscope.enterprisemanager.smartstor.tier3.age=N
    #The historical files under "data" folder will finally be deleted after N days
    introscope.enterprisemanager.transactionevents.storage.optimize.time offsethour
    #It's only about the time to run the "house keeping".
    Please adjust the settings accordingly. These changes will not have a immediate effect to the current situation. The simplest way to solve the problem is just to delete the whole "data" and "traces" folder. EM will automatically re-create these new folders when restarting. But please be aware that the historical data will be lost, so we suggest backing up the historical files first. From then on, the "house keeping" work will run in the new way as we have modified.
    Alternately one can put the /data directory on a different disk drive / disk controller. For this purpose, change
    the following properties in the file config/IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties:
    introscope.enterprisemanager.smartstor.directory=/your/separate/drive/data
    introscope.enterprisemanager.smartstor.directory.archive=/your/separate/drive/archive
    introscope.enterprisemanager.smartstor.dedicatedcontroller=true

  • Wily Instroscope Agent connection problem to Enterprise Manager

    Perhapse some of you guys deal with this problem before and can give me an hint?
    I install the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager and one Agent according to the "Introscope Version 7.0 Installation Guide for SAP" but if i try to start the agent i get the Warning: [IntroscopeAgent.ConnectionThread] Failed to connect to the Introscope Enterprise Manager at <server>:6001, com.wily.isengard.postofficehub.link.net.DefaultSocketFactory (1)
    I checked if the server is reachable with ping and also if the port is open via telnet from the system where i have installed the Agent.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Jens, thank you for your answer, yes i tried to use the ip adress instead, with the same result.
    Very strange from my  point of view is the thing that i can't get a telnet connection if i try to connect to from the enterprise manager server to the agent server. This look like a network issue to me, dosen't it? in the other direction there is no problem and on the enterprise manager server i see that listening on 6001 is on. If I check this on the agent machine, i can't see anybody listening on this port. But from my point of view it should?
    Webview isn't in place right yet, i thougt i should finish the "normal" configuration first?

    I believe that Wily is licensed as part of the Solution Manager Enterprise edition. So why do I need to buy an additional license?

    For the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 8.2 the error you described
    occurs if the em-include.conf file is missing in the EM' installation.
    This file is included into the SAP managed modules SAPISMM02_0*.SAR
    file.
    Note that for Wily Introscope EM 8.2.2 you need to install the SAP
    management modules after the installation of the EM 8.2.2 AND before
    you attempt to start the service
    Please refer to the Node 797147 for the documentation about the
    the SAPISMM02_0*.SAR - management modules to be installed on top of
    Enterprise Manager.
    Please consider additionally the Note 1273028
    - The Enterprise Manager can only be launched as Windows Service
    after the latest management module package (SAPISMM) has been
    installed. The SAPISMM package contains a file em-include.conf
    which is required.
    I would like to ask you to implement the Note 1273028 and to retest the
    issue.

    When I setup solution manager 7.1 SP11 ,In Basic Configuration step Configure Automatically, the automatic activity Create Self-Monitoring Scenario is not able to find the Wily Introscope technical system. As note 1820491 ,one error has occoured. Please check the following for detail .

    In Landscape Browser UI, open the LMDB Administration - Expert UI
    In the Expert UI, delete following Class Name:CIM Class Name: SAP_IPSERVICEPORT and CIM Refernce String: WLY
    Repeat the same for other CIM Classes like SAP_HTTPSERVICEPORT in case they are displayed in the warning of step Configure Wily Introscope
    Return to Basic Configuration step Configure CA Wily Introscope and use Edit and Save buttons
    But when I perform the following step, one error has occurred:

    It looks like the connection user for Wily EM in the solman_setup is missing.
    Please follow the steps below :
    Select a CA Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager.
    Choose the User Management button. A dialog box appears.
    Assign the user which is to be used to connect the CA Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager to SAP Solution Manager, For example : Admin
    Enter the password of the administration user.
    Choose OK.
    Make sure that the above settings are saved.

  • Hostname change option in Willy Enterprise Manager

    Hi,
         We are facing one problem during configuration of Introscope agent with
    Wily enterprise manager (In Solution Manager 7.1).
    Scenario:
    Wily EM installed on Solution Manager Server (unxa0275) but introscope
    agents for managed system are not able to connect to the EM in solution
    manager.
    Issue:
    There are 2 host name for (unxs0275 and unxa0275) for solution manager
    server. Unxa0275 is the actual host name and unxs0275 is the virtual
    host name for the same server (solution Manager).
    When I installed EM (Enterprise manager) on solution manager server it
    get installed with host name as unxa0275 and that is not accessible by
    the other server ( managed system).
    Option:
    1.Is it possible to change the Wily EM host after installation? If yes
    then where I need to make changes.
    2.Or weather I need to install the EM again? And then in that case how
    to set the host variable so the installation
    script u201C./introscope7.1solaris.SAPEndUser.binu201D will take the host name
    unxs0275 rather then unxa0275.
    I need to change the hostname from Unxa0275 to UnxS0275??During the Installation of EM hostname option is not coming.Please guide me.

    you can change to hostname of wily introscope enterprise manager within the solution manager to a virtual hostname as follow:
    call SICF an activate Service WD_SISE_ADMIN
    call transaction SOLMAN_SETUP_ADMIN
    Choose Generic Storage Admin UI
    Configurtaion ID: EM_CONFIG_ID-EM_CONFIG_ID
    change values CLIENT_HOST, EM_FQN, EM_IP, LMDB_SERVEERNAME, SERVERNAME, SERVER_HOST --> save and check the new values in SOLMAN_SETUP -> Basic Configuration --> Configure CA Wily Introscope (virtual host should now be displayed)
    afterwards you have to supply all managed systems with the new configuration Managed System Configuration
    Enter System Parameter (Check Introscope Host "edit and save")
    Configure Automatically (Run "Introscope Host Adapter" and "Byte Code Adapter Installation")

    I've been trying to install the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager onto my Solution Manager server for several days now but I'm running into a lot of issues. I have unpacked SAPISEM8SP01_00-10007429.SAR & SAPISEM80_03-10007433.SAR but the silent installation is not providing any errors or information on the installation. I've tried just about everything to get introscope8.0.2.0windowsAMD64SAP.exe to run on my server but it still does nothing. Has anyone run into this issue?

    was able to finally get the installer to work by using package
    SAPISEM8SP01_00-10007433.SAR. Not sure why the others were not working
    but the agent works fine now.

    Dear all,
    Facing a bizar issue.
    I'm configuring Solution Manager Diagnostics (on Win2003 Server / IA64-bit, java 1.4.2_12) and installing Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.1.
    Did the installation as described in the setup guide; the ccms/wilyintroscope in /usr/sap is created, the windows service is created an running. But when checking the log (IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log) to verify EM is running I don't find the line 'Server listening for incoming .... on port 6001'.
    I also installed WebView on SAP NetWeaver and I'm able to display the login-screen, but i gives me the message 'This WebView instance is connected to the Enterprise Manager on unconnected.', while unconnected should be something like localhost.
    Someone any idea?
    Any help is highly appreciated!
