WIM 4.3 Error

Dear Sir !
I install WIM 4.3, but i login Web Manager, there is problem in the below file

This means that a response from the Application server (jboss) or DB request did not come back in 60
seconds.
Is this stand-alone or integrated?
What kind of a set-up is this single = (web+app+db) or distributed?
The application server logs will provide more information for the user you are trying to login as.
See if you can access directly bypassing the webserver to eliminate webserver as a possible problem.

  • Failed to Run Task Sequence (Error 0x80070032)

    Hello folks
We just setup the productive SCCM environment and successfully staged many clients. But with one we have some trouble.
I have added the Client with the Hostname and MAC address into SCCM
Added the Client into the Collection where the Task Sequence for staging is applied
Made a boot image on CD-ROM and booted up the client
He can successfully connect to the SCCM Server and also get the right ask Sequence
Bevor starting downloading the Vista OS WIM, the following Error occure:
    Failed to Run Task Sequence
An error occured while starting the task sequence (0x80070032).
For more information, please contact ....
I used the Boot CD-ROM successfully on other clients without any problem.
The same Task Sequence was working perfect on other clients
All Clients are HP DC7800 SFF Desktops
BIOS Settings are default by all the Clients
Have tested the same Client on the Test SCCM Environment and got the same problem.
Deleted the Client and re-added it into the SCCM Server
Tried to use different network cable on different location
Client successfully get a DHCP IP address
We have all done so far as I have the knowledge. Any help would kindly be appreachate.
    Kind regards

    Hi folks
As seen in another thread (http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2592075&SiteID=17) that the local smsts.log file located in x:\windows\temp\smstslog\ will help to analyse whats happen in the background, I have seen the following line in the Log:
The active system partition on a MBR system must be NTFS
    and
Failed to prepare the system partition for staging.
The request is not supported. (Error: 80070032; Source: Windows)
    and
    Failed to stage WinPE. Code(0x80070032)
So, I did the steps informed in the other thread to press F8 durcing the Error and used the following in the DOS Box:
    Diskpart
    Select Disk 0
    Clean
After that steps, the Bootprocess worked perfect. It seams that the Disk was partitioned not that good, that WinPE could handle it.
Hope this helps other for analysing.
    Cheers

  • Often, Firefox app will close, but the underlying Windows process will not and cannot be stopped via Task Manager. When this happens, Firefox can no longer be used...the system must be rebooted.

    Hello,
Often, the Firefox app will close, but the underlying Windows process will not and cannot be stopped via Task Manager. When this happens, Firefox can no longer be used...the system must be rebooted. This happens especially when many apps are running but even though there are plenty of memory resources available.
I have tried to find if something is using Firefox in the background, but have no way to know what that would be.
Their are no apparent viruses detected.
Firefox is version v5.0 and occurred in earlier release.
    System is Windows 7 (64bit).

well, it's not the same hardware and it's a bit different.
I managed to pass that stage somehow but I still have a problem
I don't use the built-in creator tool that comes with Spyrus as it doesn't know how to append a pre-staged media that was created by SCCM that should apply the Windows file system to a second partition and the WinPE to the first partition.
I managed to do everything. my only problem is that the WTGCreator that comes with SCCM 2012 R2 creates the 350MB partition with FAT32 file system.
when I boot from the device I get the WinPE, I can choose a task sequence and then it fails when trying to apply the wim file. the error tells me that the 350MB partition is FAT32 which is not supported (even though it chooses the second partition, which
is all the rest of the disk space)
what I did was adding another task that converts the 32 Fat partition to an NTFS partition and then the process continues and finishes successfully! but that's a workaround.
I'm trying to make this process as smooth as possible without having additional steps

  • MDT Boot Image Creation

I just upgraded my SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 and then to R2
I uninstalled the WAIK and installed 8.1 ADK
    MDT 2012 Update 1
Now I am trying to add new MDT Boot images and I get this error
    Started processing.

You need to remove the old MDT integration components and then reintegrate MDT with the new R2 installation of Configuration Manager by running the Configure ConfigMgr Integration utility from the start menu (inside the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit folder)
, if your on Server 2012 make sure you run the utility as an administrator (elevated) otherwise it will fail.
If you haven't already done so you will also need to update MDT to 2013 as 2012 Update 1 isn't supported in R2.
Its also a good idea to create new MDT Integrated Task Sequences and copy over any custom actions from your old ones to the new ones.

    WSIM Version
Surprising that it fails on the cleaning up portion, after mounting, serializing and un-mounting the Image.
Is there an updated version of AIK or WSIM that needs to be used?

It uses a new image format. The DISM and imaging api from even version 6.3.x (win 8.1) won't be able to access it.
But I think it's got some issues.  I can do a get-windowsimage -ImagePath install.wim and see the images, but dism /image:install.wim /? says "Unable to access the image.  Same with the boot wim.
Here's what dism.log says that is relevant:

    Hi,
If you plan on using DISM to install a .cab file, it is recommended that you use the WUSA.exe tool to extract the files to a directory first.
Make sure that the permission setting of the temp folder that save the mounted image allows the user to modify.
Make sure that you run the command lines in a prompt window with Administrator privilege.
If the issue persists, you’d better consider to change with another image.
The following operating-system-package servicing options are available for a mounted offline image:
    DISM.exe /image:<path_to_mounted_image_directory> [/Get-Packages | /Get-PackageInfo | /Add-Package | /Remove-Package ] [/Get-Features | /Get- FeatureInfo | /Enable-Feature | /Disable-Feature ]
The following operating system package servicing options are available for a running operating system:
    DISM.exe /online [/Get-Packages | /Get-PackageInfo | /Add-Package | /Remove-Package ] [/Get-Features | /Get-FeatureInfo | /Enable-Feature | /Disable- Feature ]
Pay attention to the following please.
    1. You cannot use a network share location as a scratch directory to expand a package (.cab or .msu file) for installation. The directory used for extracting files for temporary usage during servicing must be a local directory.
    2. If subsequent actions are requested, they cannot be processed until the previous pending online action is completed.
    3. If a package is in the “installed requested” state and then you stage the package, the package state is set to “uninstall requested”. This is because it must be uninstalled before it can be staged.
    4. Some packages require other packages to be installed first. Because of this dependency requirement, you should use an answer file if you are installing multiple packages.
    Hope that helps.

  • FAILURE ( 5640 ): FALSE: Verify File: \\SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim ERROR

    Guys,
I need help with this error please. I have a WDS in building 13 and another 1 in building 31; Both servers have MDT 2013. At some point, both deployment shares were linked via MDT but I deleted that few days to solve some deployment share corruption in building
    31 WDS.
Presently I have 2 32bit images (my 64bit images work fine) giving me the following MDT error in BUILDING 13 during the image deployment:
    FAILURE ( 5640 ): FALSE: Verify File: \\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim
Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2147467259 0x80004005
Failed to run the action: Install Operating System.
    Unknown error (Error:00001608; Source: Unknown)
The Execution of the group (Install) has failed and the execution has been aborted. An action failed....
Please note, BUILDING 13 deployment share is not linked to BUILDING 31 deployment share. I don't understand why this error is pointing to BUILDING 31 deployment share.
\\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim\image.wim  has been removed. I need the task sequence to point to
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\Image 11-13-2014.wim. BUILDING 13 deployment Share task sequences are pointing to
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare as well as my CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini
    1. I have diskpart and cleaned the disc, no luck.
    2. I have checked the Install action for both images task sequences and even verified each action on both tasks and cant find any error.
    3. I have re-generated the boot images and retyped
    \\BUILDING 13 SERVER\DeploymentShare on its CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini
    4. I am in the process of copying Image 11-13-2014.wim back to
\\BUILDING 31 SERVER\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems BUT again I don't understand why these task sequences are pointing to building 31. If this step doesn't work, I will restore both images from a backup and re-added them to building 13 MDT.
But I don't think these steps are the solution.I am out of ideas here...

I disabled McAfee AV, moved images boot files to a different location, regenerate boot images files in MDT, update deployment share, re-add boot files to WDS & refresh WDS. This works for me.

  • EIM WIM v4.3(1) installation error

    Hi all,
    In my current setup
    a) 3 servers running app/msg/serv, database and web server all within the same domain
    b) broadcom hotfix was deployed
    c) windows authentication was used
    d) installation was done on the 1st server where all components were selected except web server.
    e) did a reinstallation of jdk & eim/wim was but unsuccessful as well
Some errors were seen in the install log file. The main one seem to be related to application server <-> database server communication. The 3 databases (master, active, archive) were created by the installation. Subsequently there are few other errors (attached)

    RK,
    Does the c:/users/rkm/x/apex/images folder exist?
Does it contain lots of images?
If not, what is the full path where /apex/images was unzipped?
The parameter to the apxldimg script needs to point to the folder that contains the apex folder.

  • WIM file applied. Boot error of BOOTMGR is missing.

My desktop computer has 2 physical hard drives
I booted with a USB drive to capture images using the ImageX tool.
Drive G is recognized as being the USB 'capture image' boot device that has ImageX tool.
Disk 0 is recognized as drive C.
Disk 1 is recognized as drive D.
I captured the C:\ drive and the D:\ drive with the following commands.
    Both completed successfully.
    G:>ImageX /compress fast /BOOT /verify /check /flags "Enterprise" /capture C: G:\Drive_C_install.wim "Windows 7 Professional" "Windows 7 Professional Custom"
    G:>ImageX /compress fast /verify /check /flags "Enterprise" /capture D: G:\Drive_D_install.wim "Windows 7 Professional" "Windows 7 Professional Custom"
I then replace the 2 physical disks with new ones. I used diskpart to select disk 0, create a partition, format, assign a size , assign letter C and mark C as active.  Disk 1 also the same (except I did not mark disk 1 as active.
I then boot with bootable USB and now successfully apply the .wim files with the following commands.
    G:>ImageX /apply /verify G:\Drive_C_install.wim 1 C:\
    G:>ImageX /apply /verify G:\Drive_D_install.wim 1 D:\
However, when I boot up expecting to see a clean boot into Windows, instead I get the error of:
"BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
I am thinking I did not capture the image properly? (I am able to see the files and folders actually did apply to the new hard drives by using a SATA hard drive docking station and seeing them on another PC)
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
The Windows Desktop Perfmon and Diagnostic tools forum is to discuss performance monitor (perfmon), resource monitor (resmon), and task manager, focusing on HOW-TO, Errors/Problems, and usage scenarios.

  • X86 boot.wim network error 0xe0000101

    Hi all,
i used this command to mount, add, commit an dismount about 1200 network drivers to my boot.wim from a windows 7 enterprise cd.
    cd C:\install2
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:boot.wim /index:1 /mountdir:mount
    Dism /Image:mount /Add-Driver /Driver:Drivers\ /Recurse /ForceUnsigned
    dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:mount /commit
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:boot.wim /index:2 /mountdir:mount
    Dism /Image:mount /Add-Driver /Driver:Drivers\ /Recurse /ForceUnsigned
    dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:mount /commit
    pause
After this the size of the boot.wim has grown from 144mb to 172mb, so it looks good.
then i imported the boot.wim to the wds server, and had a clientcomputer boot the image.
when its preparing to load,  i get the error :
"WdsClient: An error occurred while starting networking: a matching network card driver was not found in this image. Please have your Administrator add the network driver for this machine to the Windows PE image on the Windows Deployment Services server."
This, While i added 1200 network drivers to the boot.wim ( i made sure that network drivers for my testcomputer are in there)...
So i checked the Setupapi.app.log and it gave me the following failure's:

    Hi Shaon Shan,
as u can see in the copy of the Setupapi.app.log log, the logfile does not say anything about the Plug
and Play ID (PnPID). If it had an id in there, i wouldnt have this problem.
is there a other way to get the pnpid?
    greets

  • The installation was canceled: Install Windows: Windows cannot open the required file E:\sources\install.wim Error code: 0x80070570

I have a Windows XP computer and accidentally formatted the C:\ Drive. I then decided to buy the Windows Vista CD installation and popped it into the CD Drive, there was a problem with the Drive so I had to move it onto a USB Drive instead(on another computer).
When I booted my PC(C: Drive formatted) all went well until I typed in the product key and clicked next. It shows a dialog box:
    Install Windows
Windows cannot open the required file E:\Sources\Install.wim. The file may be
corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and
restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570
I am in urgent need of help immediately. Please help me!
P.S. and thanks for advance for any help. Sorry for anyone with the same problem.

It sounds like there's a problem with that file. You will need to re-copy the files to USB or even re-download the operating system from Microsoft.

  • Cannot mount winpe boot.wim with error:3

    Hi there
    thats what i´ve done:
first i installed the adk (build 10057) after i´ve removed the old one completely.
then i´ve used copype to create new files (copype amd64 c:\123)
after this i´ve used this command:
    Dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile:c:\123\media\sources\boot.wim /mountdir:c:\123\mount /index:1 /loglevel:4
and i get the error message
    Error:3
The system cannot find the path specified.
    Here is the Log: http://pastebin.com/djPfKXdN
Whats wrong? Can someone else confirm this?
    p.s. i get the same error if i use an different/older wim-file...

    Hi,
Currently, we only have latest preview build to 10049 via Windows Update. For the ADK, please make sure to use ADK for Windows Technical Preview
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn938390(v=vs.85).aspx
I tested in my mahcine, and the operation completes successfully
The logs shows that something is missing in the dism store, I recommend you uninstall the Deployment tools which contains DISM in ADK, then reinstall the tool as a test.

  • WinPE 5 error access denied when applying .wim

    Hello TechNet,
I have been struggling with deploying surface pro 3s using DISM.  I keep receiving an access denied error when I try to apply a windows image to a brand new surface pro 3 using the latest version of DISM.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

I ran all the cleanup commands and created a new image. I then tried to apply the image and I got the same access denied error message.  I looked at the DISM log and it said:

  • Eim/wim installation error

I am installing, integrating WIM/EIM 4.1.2 in our labs with sprawler 7.0,SQL 2000 and SP4.I have run the prerequisite and have configured the Web logic as per the install guides. Now when i am running the EIM installer i am getting an error of "unable to connect to the db,pls check".I have tested the same connectivity using the ODBC and it works fine so i know there is no problem in the sa id and pwd i am using.
Few things which i have tried and tested but getting stuck at the same place are as below.
I have tried using the database name eGMasterDB(default one)as well as the Master db but both fails to connect.
Created a new domain user and used that to install the weblogic and EIM/WIM.
Tried hostname.domain.com instead of just hostname in the installation window.
Able to telnet onto the hostname on port 1433.
So if anybody has come across a similar situation like this or has a fix to it.pls let me know.
    Thanks
    Ganesh R

If you are installing EIM/WIM on a single server, would you not also have the SQL 2000 database on the same machine?
If not, and you are using another database on another machine - perhaps your Sprawler to make a "split server" deployment, the SQL server would be installed in binary sort order for ICM compatibility. Could be an issue.
Try an all in one install - single server deployment - with SQL on the same box.
As matthewpage said, check the install log  - it's quite comprehensive. I think it's in C:\Cisco\CIM\installation or something similar. Maybe it's in C:\temp.

    Geoff
