Wimpy rave player integrated in iWeb

TIP: to use a Wimpy 'Rave' Player in iWeb on a (non.dot.mac)server.
http://www.wimpyplayer.com are professional mp3/flash/video players with many programmable options and you can use it in your iWebsite.
First read and do the Wimpy instructions and if you so fare, you come at the
custumizer page note this:
When copy the HTML within the "Snippet" (2e option) and past it into a WebWidget you can see the player but after uploading it WILL NOT DISPLAY and a message says "upgrade flashplayer". Ignor this becourse it has nothing to do with Flash but a part of the HTML is not suitable for iWeb, so here is the way to do it:
From the Customer Page you don't copy the snippet HTML, you must SAFE it to a download folder. This file hase the name "my_wimpy.html", you can change it if you want (Handy for difirent Widgets).
Now open this file in Safari and the player will show, go to VIEW and klick 'SHOW SOURCE VERSION" (in Dutch Bronversie) and copy this HTML into a iWeb Widget. After uploading the palyer will display and play as you customized it.
By the way, the free software like Skinmaker etc. aregreate tools but Playlister does not work correct and erchonomic on my Mac. The "open' option opens nothing, so you can not re-edit older playlists. NOTE, I write her about the "RAVE" Playlister and don't have experience with Wimpy Player.
Some one knows a good Playlist program ?
I try the wipySQL tool, the demo video tells about Wimpy Player, not Rave and till now I could log in Proper. Maybe some one can give me some advice...
Greetings Dio

  • Flash player integrated in Mac Os

    Hello,
is the flash player integrated in mac os directly from adobe?
Or does apple implmented their own flash player.
I am wondering whether i have to update the flash player manually from adobes homepage or does apple distribute their own update.
    Jerry

No, you update it from Adobe. As all Adobe applications seem to have a few security issues, Apple's security updates generally includes a correction to these, but the latest FlashPlayer update from Adobe was a security update!
Hope that makes it all clear!
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
Note that Adobe requires you to uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, as mentioned here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1
using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2009-001. (N.B. Security Updates require both a restart and a permission repair.)

  • Flash player probs in iweb

Never had this before but recently I can hardlly access my own page because of this:
"A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player 8 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script."
So I choose Yes or No. Doesn't matter. Still locks up. All the stuff I have I had before and this never happened. But it is getting more frequent.
    Here is the page:
    http://web.mac.com/abenningfield/iWeb/CameraObscura/The%20Camera%20Obscura.html
    Any ideas?

    Hot layout, jabber!
You know, I've seen this on a few pages too, not sure what it's related to, but I always choose Yes, because I assume that locking up Flash will likely lock up my browser. When I just went to your site, it didn't happen to me but if I visit and it does happen, I'll see if it locks up on me.

  • QuickTime Player Problem with iWeb v3.0.4 and Safari v5.1.2

iWeb v3.0.4 published web site with Safari v5.1.2:
I'm in the process of creating a web site (www.koinonia.com) using iWeb v3.0.4.  There is an inserted QuickTime element on the home page which is playing an mp3 music file.  The QuickTime player (Show movie controller option in iWeb) does not work with Safari v5.1.2 (but does work fine with Firefox v9.0.1).  There should be a Movie Controller below the album jpeg image, but is not there with Safari.  Also, the movie (mp3 audio file) does not play automatically (plays fine with Firefox).  This looks to be a bug with Apple's iWeb / Safari applications.
Does anyone know how to get the QuickTime element to play with Safari v5.1.2?
    Thanks

Safari 5 running in Snow Leopard has been a problem for me. It screws up html, loads a distorted control bar in HTML5 and crashes every now and again when I do a Google search. Reporting these issues is a waste of time as the latest update had no fix. I test all my pages in Firefox and Chrome and don't bother much with Safari since less than 3% use it.
I have the same issue as the OP. The file will only load in Safari if the page is open in Firefox at the same time.
This problem arose over a year ago and is related to files imported from iTunes via the media browser. If the OP will confirm that the file came from iTunes, I will have a look at the meta data to see if there's anything there that iTunes has added.
The only time I am forced to use iTunes is for apps that don't allow import from the finder such as certain situations in Keynote. Otherwise, I wish it would disappear down a black hole in the universe along with Windows and Internet Explorer.
I converted the file to MP4 with QT Pro to prove the point that its the actual MP3 file that is causing the problem - along with Safari.
I haven't depended on the QT Plugin for playing media for quite some time now. HTML5 now works in all modern browsers and should also work in IE 8 if the HTML5 Shiv is included in the head of the page.
Its also a breeze to get flexible movies in responsive web design using HTML 5...
    http://www.ezmacwebdesign.com/Music-Website/index.html
I don't bother too much with flash fallback anymore since these designs are mainly for mobile devices and I can ignore those who are reluctant to upgrade their out of date browsers.

  • Flash Player integrated with Windows 8 has stopped working...can't seem to upgrade to newer version Flash Player ?

One day watched videos with no problem.  Next day, can't watch videos!  Site says I need Flash 10.0 or higher.  When I try to check what version I have, it says that Flash player is integrated with Windows 8, no need to install Flash Player.  I am thinking that there are newer versions of Flash Player than what is integrated with Windows 8, but it's like I'm going around in circles, can't seem to upgrade to a newer version.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • ICal Integration with iWeb site

I used PHP iCalendar (Thanks to Gs World for having it on his page) and thought that this is pretty cool.
    http://www.txbluebonnetwp.org/iCal/
    What do you think?
This page is under my main calendar site (Click on the Test Calendar link in the Banner - if you get lost.)
Here is where to find PHP iCalendar. it is open source. and you have config it just a little in a text editor (Read the Read Me File)
    http://phpicalendar.net/
It is not terribly hard to get a calendar on the site. You make one in iCal, then put it in the calendar folder inside the PHP iCalendar Folder (get rid of the three samples (Work, Holidays etc.)
Upload that folder to your server, and make some links to that folder in you iWeb site. Customizing it can get trickier, but it is pretty logical the way it is laid out. I am hardly comfortable with code but seem to have it working pretty good so far.
Would love some feedback about the site!!!
    Thanks
    Cobe

I think you have to copy your calendar to the server. But it only takes a second.
As for a stylesheet, it has a folder of templates that you can modify: header.tpl, admin.tpl, calendar.tpl etc. (i changed the header.tpl - and it is changed on all the pages).
All the template files seem to be built nested within each other so that you only have to change it once.
There is also a default.css file in there.

  • Why does the DVD-Player integrated in FrontRow not play DolbyDigital?

    Hy there,
I have a problem, When I'm using the normal DVD-Player of MacOsX to play a DVD with DolbyDigital 5.1, my Macbook is sending via optical out a 5.1 Stream to the receiver. But when I'm using FrontRow, unfortunately there's only pcm put out to my receiver. Will this be changed in a future version of FrontRow? Perhaps in Leopard? The problem is, that the sound is much better putting out 5.1 than pcm. Or is there acutally any solution available to make FrontRow play DVDs like the original DVD-Player?
    Thanks so far.
    Best regards
    CubaMAN
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I'm usually using my Core Duo iMac now. I haven't used Front Row to play a DVD for a little while, as now I've plugged the iMac into the HDTV and you can't play Front Row on a second display, only the main display. So, for the past couple of months I've been using the DVD Player program. It's possible a system update or QuickTime update has changed the way it works. I'll have to try an experiment when I'm home later.

  • Installing wimpy player to .mac

    Hi all,
Ok I am out of practice using .mac and I am attempting to help a friend install the wimpy mp3 player to .mac. I downloaded the demo, created the mp3 folder, put the appropriate files into that folder and uploaded it to my sites folder in my idisk. When I put in the url for the wimpy.php (the player file) safari started to download the file rather than load it? I tried putting the mp3 folder into idisk/web/sites/iweb on the idisk and it did the same thing. I tried once more putting the mp3 folder into idisk/web/sites/iweb/mysite and it did the same thing? Is .mac not php? The other choices for wimpy are asp and cold fusion. Where am I going wrong here? I did this same routine on my 1and1 server and had zero problems. Any help is appreciated.

  • How can i add an HTML5 audio player to iWeb?

I'm trying to add an HTML5 audio player to my iWeb website.
I tried using the java script codes from players like speakker, jquery or JMS. Even though I downloaded everything from their websites, when I sent the code to the HTML snipet of iWeb, nothing happened.
Do you know how I can do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brazilian_girl

Thank you so much for all your info, that really helps.
I read the instructions for the  speakker player, but they seemed so confusing to me in terms of how to do everything, setp by step in regards to iWeb.
So, let me make sure I got it:
    1) I go to my FTP site/hosting create a new folder
    2) add the music and the graphic content from the player (images form the buttons, etc...)
    3) get a link from the FTP hosting site with all this stuff
    4) Write the link in the code
    5) paste the code (with the link in it) into the HTML snipet widget of iWeb.
    Is this correct?
Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

  • I thought with iWeb integration...

I can't find or it's not available, isn't there a way to select a group of photos and then send them to iWeb directly? Like in iPhoto? Or is Aperture not fully integrated with iWeb?
I can only see that I have to open iWeb and then go back in the Aperture library and find the pictures I want to use.
iPhoto has a dedicated icon for iWeb. Just select all the photos and clieck the iWeb icon and select make page. iWeb opens and all the photos are in the new page.

Using iLife 06. All latest updates on MacBook Pro. iPhoto has a dedicated iWeb icon to generate the pages directly in iPhoto.
I was hoping the Aperture update with iLife integration would have a dedicated iWeb icon too. It makes the most sense like in iPhoto.
If I'm already working in Aperture on the photos, to be able to select them and click make iWeb page with them is so streamlined. As it is now I have to open Aperture, select the Media window and now go look for the photos in Aperture. This is a pain when not selecting contiguous photos in Aperture.
I guess way around this is to create a folder of the photos in Aperture I want to use iWeb. The open iWeb and go to that folder. Not the best of integration as in iPhoto. Especially when you have thousands of photos in Aperture and many projects and folders.
Hopefully an update will bring true integration with Aperture and iWeb.
    Thanks

  • A collection of FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter for Mac

A collection of FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter for Mac
Are you prepared to download FLV videos from YouTube, Google Video, metacafe, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com, and many other video websites to play on your Mac or portable players, or do some further editing with certain editors? In my experience, assuming you have this idea, you must take advantage of three kinds of tools, including FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter to achieve the goal.
Of course, I am not speaking this to depress you, but to share my collections of these tools to show my kindness. Sure, just for people who have these needs.
At first, I’ll introduce you several FLV downloaders for Mac, I have tried all of them, and basically they can achieve my goal of downloading FLV videos online.
    Free FLV downloaders for Mac:
    Web Video Downloader for Firefox
    Free Video Downloader for Mac
    Free YouTube Downloader for Mac
I also know some free FLV players, and recommend them to you here, hope they can assist you to play FLV videos on your Mac smoothly.
Free FLV player, Mac OS X:
    Adobe Media Player
    Wimpy FLV Player
QuickTime, after installation of the Perian video plugin
    SWF & FLV Player
    CorePlayer
(Tip: the above pieces of software can easily be searched in Google, so I do not give you the links here. I’m sure you can get them with ease.)
Well, we have gone through the FLV downloaders and FLV players in the above passages, now it’s time to introduce you a FLV converter for Mac. This program I recommend is Pavtube FLV Converter for Mac, which can perfectly convert FLV videos to a wide range of video formats, so that you can do whatever you like with the resulted videos, such as playing on your iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry, PSP, Apple TV, etc. or exporting to iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express to do further editing, or doing something else as you like. But how to use it? You may ask me. Take it easy, a step-by-step instruction is involved in the following part.
    1. Download, install and run this program
A sky-blue interface will be shown to you as follow:
    2. Add files, set output format and destination folder
Input FLV files to it by clicking button “Add”, and select a format as the output format in the drop-down list of “Format”, meanwhile, you can press “Browse” to specify the destination folder or just use the path set by default.
    3. Set advanced settings
Click button[b] “Settings”, the following interface will pop up. You can change the parameters like screen size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. to optimize the output videos.
    4. Convert
This FLV Converter for mac can definitely complete the conversion at a swift speed with excellent quality, also it do not have the problem of audio-video out of sync. Therefore you need not worry about these issues. Moreover, if you want to add watermark as your own logo or reserve your copyright, you can totally do it with this program.
Ok, the introduction to the three kinds of tools which you may need while dealing with FLV videos is over, sincerely hope they can deliver you useful information, because you know, it’s my original intention.

    Hi Greg,
So if I understand correctly, your findings are:
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Flash Media Interactive Server = Jerky Video
Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Flash Media Interactive Server = Smooth Video
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Wowza = Smooth Video
And what about Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Wowza?
Also, if you could check the network traffic to confirm if it's Flash Player causing the issue or it is receiving it like that from FMIS.
    Cheers
    --Vikas

  • Questions about web gallery in iWeb - advise please

I have succesfully republished my old iWeb with iWeb 08, but would like to have some advice before I experiment further. The iWeb Help says I can add a web gallery to iWeb using either "insert>web gallery", or a Web Widget. Can anyone explain the difference to me?
My one Web Gallery has the neat new "carousel" effect and the other properties of this new function. Will any new photo albums that I publish directly from iWeb also have these properties, or are they unique to "web gallery"? The photo albums that I have republished with the new iWeb have the "download" and "subscribe" functions, but not the "carousel" and other niceties of Web Gallery. Thank you.

There are two completely separate types of gallery, one being the .Mac web gallery and the other being the ones that you make in iWeb.
Where iWeb mentions the "insert" or "Web Widget" it just means there two ways of doing the same thing. If you use the 'Insert' menu or the 'Web Widget' button you are able to choose one of your web galleries and insert an animated thumbnail which cycles through previews of your photos in that particular album. A visitor to your page is able to click on it to visit the specific album.
So there you have it, you can either build photo albums in iWeb without some of the fancy Web Gallery features or you can use the .Mac Web Gallery. The iWeb albums will be tightly integrated with iWeb and your pages but you can still integrate the .Mac Web Gallery to a certain degree by using the 'Insert' or 'Web Widget' options.
I personally plan to use both iWeb Albums and .Mac Web Gallery as they both have their merits for different projects I'm working on.

  • How to place a sound and player in dreamweaver?

After a while I make a website again and I forgot what the
best way is to place a soundfile (MP3) in a webpage in dreamweaver.
Important is that the sound can loop and that there is a player in
the page to turn the sound off.
I tried 'insert flash video' in dreamweaver after I encode
the soundfile/ a song in Flash encoder.
Afterwards I insert it in the page in Dreamweaver and I chose
the Corona skin 1. By testing the page in firefox I heard the sound
but I didn't see the player. What's wrong?
Is there a better way to put a soundfile in a page than
flash? It doesn't have to be flash, as long as the sound plays and
there is a player to turn it off

Have a look at Wimpy audio player or the Wimpy Button. This
    will work well
even if visitor doesn't have an mp3 audio player installed on
    their system.
