Win 10 preview didn't make it past User Name during login

I tried the technical preview installation via Windows Update Control Panel. It seemed to be working fine. I made it up to the point where I was going to login after the "Hi....I'm setting up your apps....Let's Start..." screens. It showed
my User Name and Photo, flashed for a second and I saw something that looked like my desktop, and then the screen was blank. I tried several times and was forced to restore Windows 7 (which worked like a charm!)
Would you like my specs?

Thank you for reply and sorry being late to answer. I used to get notification about reply and this time I had to go search what is going on with my issue.
For the purpose of demonstration I uploaded application without some code and without some pages but login page is there:

On page 101 you can notice process: Set Username Cookie, that I do not know how it came to this page.
You can test login and logout with 2 additional users/passwords: 77777/change1 and 6666/broker2 and you can see that if you login and logout, on next login you have previous user set. If you by some chance have same password for both users then you are transparently logged as previous user not the one that enetered user id.?
I guess error that you may get are not important for this issue, so you can ignore them.

When I try to get started it will not accept my username. No matter what I try. I did register through Firefox but that name did not work either. I am seriously hating this app. If I can't get it to work soon I will delete it and try to find a new web browser too.

In Firefox, go to Tools, Options, Security, Saved Passwords.
Look for the entry of chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password).
You will see a user name field there. Use that as the user name in Firefox Home and it will work.
Very annoying and a pain to setup on the iPhone, but at least it works. My assumption is that Firefox Home needs to update their app so that it asks for your e-mail address instead of this auto-generated user name.
This fixed it for me.

I have a brand new Dell Inspiron Laptop, and I was thinking of installing windows 10 preview on a new partition , so I can dual boot!
Could installing win 10 preview cause any damage to the hardware at all ?
I am not going to touch the original OS or the C Drive, I want to install this on a new partitioned drive !

I think the best steps are:
firstly, make an image of your original partitions (I mean whole drive, i.e. all partitions)
(I use Acronis TrueImage as a tool of making an image)
A. and then, use virtual environment (I use
VirtualBox)
A-1. install VirtualBox on your current OS
A-2. create a virtual machine and install Windows 10 onto the virtual machine
or
B. do dual-boot as you want :
(after making an image, same as the above)
install Windows 10 onto a new partition
I have three Windows 10:
1. as a virtual machine : in VirtualBox that is running on Windows 7 : Windows 10 works
with no problems
2. upgrading from Windows 7 : no problems (some applications needed to re-install)
3. dual-boot with Windows 8.1 : some problems
-- short-time freezing after booting from Win10, and Bluetooth mouse needs "Paring" whenever Win10 boots.
I hope it will be some help.
P.S. Windows 10 does not cause any damage to the "hardware". But it may cause some troubles on "software".

Assuming you have the proper driver software installed the easiest way to scan is to use the Image Capture application.

Driver for touch pad on Win 10 Preview

Win 10 Preview 9926 is working great on my Pavillion laptop with one exception - there seems to be no driver for the touch pad so I can't disable it. Is there a driver for the Win 10 preview or one that will work with it?

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'apple support contact wont open' (?). If you mean the 'contact iTunes Store support' link on the page that you posted from I've just tried it and it seems to wok ok for me, though I haven't gone as far as to actually contact them.
You can contact either iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

A lot of I should haves. I had too many photos and while at work I opened up the 4 folders inside of the DCIM folder on my phone. I didn't think it would be a big deal to just cut the photos and paste on my computer as I have done this before. i moved one folder that had 803 pictures in it and all was fine. I ran out of time and unplugged phone and went home. When I got to work this morning I was looking at my phone and realized I only had 34 pictures. I knew there should have been 400+ there and they are gone. Don't know what happened and if they were deleted off phone or computer I cannot see them anywhere. Here is what you should do turn the device on hold the home button and the power button until the device turn off keep holding and when the device reboots release the power button but hol the home button until it shows the iTunes logo then restore it

Win 8 Preview x64 on my T61

Took the plunge and made a clean install of Win 8 Preview x64 on my T61. I did a full backup of Win 7 just in case I wanted to come back.
My observations:
Installation was without a hitch and fast. Lots of personal information requests, e-mail address, password, full name, country, state, zip code.
Metro desktop is pretty but really designed for a tablet or PC with touch screen. Navigating Metro with a the mouse or touchpad was cumbersome to say the least. To go beyond the Metro icons it takes many more clicks than in Win 7.
The standard desktop and Windows Explorer are still available but without the Start button everything takes additional clicks. Additional menus are available by hitting the screen edges and corners but are not intuitive, to me at least.
All my devices were recognized from the getgo but Windows installed a generic driver for my Nvidia discrete video. I was able to install the official Nvidia drivers without issues.
I wanted to install some Lenovo software and started with TVT Power Manager for Win 7. Not good, the software loaded some old MS Visual C++ distributions and .NET Framework which concerned me. Thinkvantage Power Manager seems to work fine except I noticed that the Metro Internet Explorer 10 was broken after that. IE 10 from the classic desktop continued to work, go figure. By the way, I did not notice anything different between IE 9 and 10. Maybe it is all behind the curtains.
Next I tried the TVT Fingerprint Reader software. Total fail, it installed but does not run. I then gave up experimenting.
Played with Win 8 a little more and then decided that it was time to go back to win 7!
Ran the R&R backup from my usb drive and I am now back to my old and great Win 7 installation!

Turned out it was a problem with PRAM. I reset the PRAM (holding Command + Option + P + R) after "Windows could not update the boot configuration". And ran the install disc once more and it worked!

got some itunes gift cards for my birthday. I still had like $24 left when I opened up my itunes today it showed that and then outta nowhere it said I only has $2 and change left. I didn't spend any of it. Check my email and there was apparently an app purchase on the 7th or 8th for some poker app and chips. I didn't make the purchase. What do I do? I know something is wrong because when I tried to log in it said that my account had be disabled for security reasons. Who do I contact about this, and how?

I just remembered some more information actually, my brain obviously isn't working. There is a way to report issues within iTunes via your purchase history. You go into your account > purchases > purchase history, and at the bottom is a button which says "Report Issue" or something like that. Less direct, but I also forgot to mention that the number above will get you to anything Apple related, and the people you eventually speak to are extremely knowledgable and friendly.

Wild guess: you're using the the wrong export settings. You'll need to tell us more before we can help you - like the export settings you're usng, the size and format of the originals etc.

iTunes accounts are not located on your computer. They are simply tied to a specific AppleID. Just log in to iTunes with the correct AppleID and Password and you will be back in that account.
