Win 10 TP join a domain greyed out

Did a fresh install of Win 10 TP 9926 on a Dell Latitude 10 tablet with an Atom processor
Want to join a domain but the choice is greyed out?
Why is that?
Thanks!

Hi City High Tech,
You may choose to use Windows Update to upgrade to Windows 10 build 10041, or download the Windows 10 build 10041 ISO through the link below:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso
You should first click the check box of Domain, then the box should be ready to input the domain name:
Or you may click the Start Button, select Settings, then navigate to system->About, on the right side, click join a domain:
Best regards

  • Recognizes Network but 'Join' Option is Greyed Out

    Hi All!
I'm visiting my parents in Brasil for the next 4 weeks. They have WPA wireless internet in their house. My MacBook Pro's (OSX 10.5.8)airport sees their wireless network and allows me to type in their passowrd. BUT, the 'Join' button is greyed out. So I can't log onto it. Why is it greyed out? I've tried restarting a few times but to no avail. I've also tried other networks but I have the 'join' option with them. Ummmmm...I'm stumped.
I've checked a variety of different forums and did some google searching but can't find anything. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone.

I have always imported my cds (including books) into iTunes using one step called "join cd tracks" which is under the "Advanced" menu. Never a problem. But today I was importing a 10 disc book and on the 7th disc all of a sudden the choice to join cd tracks was greyed out. I have tried it with other discs. No luck. How can I get to this option again. I was not doing anything different so don't know what took away this choice. Can anyone help me?

Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.
anyway anyone out there please try my final solution and let me know if it works for you?

  • Join cd tracks-greyed out

I have searched this topic but the solutions don't seem to work or make sense. I have added 2 tracks to iTunes yesterday. They are random, but I labled them track 1 of 2 and track 2 of 2 so that I could join them. I don't see the sort by track in the very left. Name is first and I can move the track column to the right of name. I have then searched in a way that only brought up these two new tracks. I then clicked the tracks colum so that they were sorted 1 and then 2, highlighted both but still greyed out. I have tried this in AAC format (but didn't see anyone say you needed to do it in mp3).
Any help is much appreciated. I am using latest iTUnes on Snowleopard.

Join CD tracks is only active when you have a CD loaded and before you import the songs from the CD to your library: Adding Content to iTunes
If you've already imported the tracks it doesn't work. Put the CD back in and join the tracks prior to importing them. You can also have a look at Doug's iTunes scripts for this script which will join tracks after they've been imported Note: This script allows you to join any two (or more) MP3 tracks (it doesn't join other formats), provided that they are the same format and bit rate: Track Splicer
Doug also has this shareware program you might find useful (this will join AAC tracks as long as they are not ITunes Store copy protected versions): Join Together

  • TS3899 Custom Domain of Gmail account(google app for business) greyed out(disabled) in iOS7 mail for no reason.

    Dear guys,
I have a free/standard version of google app for business with @simmonstaiwan.com.tw as our domain. One of our user's email account one day suddenly cannot access her email account that was already setup in iOS 7 mail app. Only her company gmail acct grey out, her other personal email accounts are working just fine.
First, I thought it was her iPhone5's issue. Therefore I tried to remove the email account and re-added it back. No work. So I thought maybe it's the custome domain gmail account issue. So, I added her email account to my iPhone4s with iOS7 with correct account name and password. Still not working, the account added successful and is enable, but I just cannot click into or onto that account and see any emails. That account name just greyed out for no reason.
So, I grab an iPad with iOS6 on it and added that account onto the machine. It worked!! Looks like that email account(gmail) only worked on iOS6 device but not iOS7. May I know maybe what really caused this to occur?
Any comments or suggestions or thoughts are very welcome and will be helpful for me to debug.
    Best Regards,
    Jay Lin

You set it up, and you failed to distinguish between the SMTP servers or assign the correct one to your copy of Mail (it doesn't actually know which is which, you need to inform it)
Open Mail>Preferences>Accounts (NOT Mail>Accounts) and go down to the SMTP server list, choose the correct server for each account then check the box that says 'Use Only This Server' for each account.
This is not automatic, you get to choose and if you don't then this will result.
    Remove the non functional ones.

    Hello Den53,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:

    I have Qosmio PSPLZA-016003 with Win 8.1
When new I could play 3D Blu-ray disks in 3D no problem on Win 8
I upgraded to Win 8.1 but did not check 3D DVDs worked.
After Toshiba Service updated Blu-ray player I could not play 3D disks in 3D - they appeared as 2D with the 3D icon greyed out. The Blu-ray player service update was to 1.0.5.175
    I have:
    1. Updated BIOS to 6.3 from support site.
    2. Removed player and reinstalled from my c: drive
    ... program files/PINS/COMPS1/Toshiba blu-ray Disc Player-V1.0.5.48
    3. Installed V1.0.5.175_A from support site (this shows in 'About Player' as V1.0.5.175)
I still have problem that 3D DVDs show as 2D and 3D icon greyed out in player window.
I assume the combination of Win8.1, Bios 6.3 and DVD Player V1.0.5.175_A should work - any suggestions?

  • Windows Deployment Service. Network Profile Radio Buttons greyed out with R2

    Hi All
I have downloaded and setup Server 2008 R2 (not yet activated). I have added the following roles "DHCP Server", "DNS Server", "Active Directory Domain Services" and "Windows Deployment Services". I can PXE boot a test client machine and (using the boot.win from windows 7 dvd) multicast a XP Image to it. This setup is connected via a 100 Mb switch and is an isolated network.
Under windows deployment services - if I right click my server - select properties - network tab "Network Profile is greyed out". I have tried running wdsutil /Set-TransportServer /Server:big /Profile:100Mbps but get the following error message: "Windows Deployment Services Management Utility Version 6.1.7600.16385. Error code 0xC110011F This WDS transport server does not support network profiles.
I have tried this on two hardware setups:
An Intel D915GUX 3GHz 2GB RAM and Marvel Yukon 88E8050 ethernet controller.
    An Intel D965 Core2Duo 1.86GHz 2GB RAM and  Intel 82566DM Network controller.
Incidently I have done the same setup with Server 2008 (not R2) on the D965 and the Network Profile radio buttons are not greyed out. If I upgrade the same test machine to server 2008 R2 the Network Profile radio buttons are greyed out. Is this a design change, does Server 2008 R2 no longer support network profiles as I am now unable to select 10 100 or 1000 Mbs ?
If more information is required or if anything needs further detail please let me know.
    Thanks for any help.

Is there any way at all to manually set or control the network profile? In my environment, a SCCM\WDS multicast stream is bottoming out on speed and network utilization when the stream crosses a Nexus 7009 router. Speeds go from 200 Mbps to 20 mbps. I have
a theory that this "new" automatic configuration is placing the clients in a slow network profile that are on the opposite side of the router and I have been unable to find a way to speed of the transmission. I have also ruled out the "master
client" slowing down the stream buy using different clients only connecting to a stream 1 at a time. I have also ruled out the router as the source of the problem by having a VLC client listen to the multicast stream on the same side of the router as
the slow clients. The VLC client (unknown to SCCM\WDS) was able to receive the transmissions at 20 % utilization / 200 Mbps.

  • Joining a Domain on my new server

I've just set up my AD domain on Windows Server 2008 R2. I've added users to domains before but right
now I'm completely blanking on what steps I've missed. Basically so far I have ran DCPROMO and set up my FQDN, the computer name is server and lets say the FQDN is myserver.com , i've set up a static address of 192.168.0.25, dns and default gateway are 192.168.0.1
on the server. I've added dhcp roles, my scope is 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.55. Does this seem ok so far? Now the point I need help on, I have a windows 8 laptop and to test the server/domain I wanted to try and join it, what do I need to do? Before I used virtual
box so had a seperate client machine but still have some issues I recall. I tried simply changing my laptop to be a member of the domain and entered the domain name but I get the error about an active directory for "myserver.com" could not be contacted.
    What steps am I missing?

I don't want to get into creating a Click-by-Click walk through for all that off the top of my head.  I can give details to get you going in the right direction but you need to search out the smaller details on your own,...or use the Help that is already
built into all of these MS products.
Your home Router already determines the IP Range you use.  I'm guessing it uses 192.168.0.1 for itself. That is a very common one, but it could be something else. You'll have to check that yourself.
Turn off DHCP on the home router since it won't be needed for that anymore. Once the DC is in place it will take over that job with it's DHCP Service. You can't have two DHCP Services running at the same time on the LAN without making special accommodations,...which
there is no point in getting into that here.
Assuming the home router is using 192.168.0.1 then give the DC something like 192.168.0.10
Once the DC is promoted and the DHCP Service on the DC is up and running,...use the whole range for the Scope (ex. 192.168.0.1 thru 192.168.0.254).
Then set an Exclusion for, say, the first 20 addresses (192.168.0.1 thru 192.168.0.20). This means that DHCP on the DC will begin with 192.168.0.21 as the first address when it starts assigning them to clients.
Within the DHCP Service add the DC's IP# for the DHCP Options pertaining to WINS and DNS. Set these at the Server Level, not the Scope Level because they will always be true even if you had other IP Segments with other clients there (which you won't, but
    I'm teaching a principle here).
In DHCP at the Scope Level add the "Router" DHCP Option which will be the IP# of the home router.  If you had other network segments (which you won't) then each segment would be associated with a different DHCP Scope and have a different "router"
IP#,...hence why it needs to be a Scope Level option.
WINS needs no setup,...if it is installed and running it will "just work".
At the point where DNS, DHCP, and WINS are running then clients will get the address config from DHCP automatically when they boot up (before a user even logs in) and DNS and WINS will start populating with the Client Details.  In some cases DNS may
not populate until the Client actually joins the domain. There are settings within the DNS Service that alter that behavor.
On the DC when you open the tool Active Directory Users and Computers,...you will see Active Directory will start populating Clients as they join the domain and they will initially be listed in the Computers "container" until you manually
move them somewhere else.  Users created in Active Directory will initially be listed in the Users "container" until you move them somewhere else.

  • Offline files greyed out.

I have a client computer running win 7. It's on a domain running server 2012. I had three folders mapped to that computer, and one of the folders was set to sync offline files, but it was the wrong one. I unchecked the "make available offline"

Before going further, would you please let me know if this issue occurred in the only one folder which set to sync offline files?
Based on your description, would you please let me know if you use the administrator account? If not, please logon as an administrator and the monitor this issue.

  • New User/Group greyed out

Running OS X Server 10.4.10. Fresh install as of today. Have OD Master set up and one test account is successfully authenticating. When I join it to the AD domain, it works as well with AD credentials.
