WIN 7.0.1 Update Fails on XP Pro

The Photoshop 7.0.1 update fails when I try to run it on Windows XP Pro. I have reproduced this error two times, once on a fresh installation of Photoshop 7. I receive a ComponentMoveData Error: Media Name: data Component: FileGroup: File: ...\temp\wzseo.tmp\data1.hdr Error Number: -113. This failure causes Photoshop to crash on startup.

I've downloaded the update and i have gotten the error message, that it can not find the adobe photoshop directory. I've tried various ways of getting around the path check.
NOTE: I do not get errors that are reported on these forums about archive extraction.
1. Reinstalling photoshop
2. Uninstall and Reinstall photoshop
3. Cut/Paste installer into photoshop directory and install
4. I've renamed c:\program files\adobe\photoshop 7.0\ to c:\program files\adobe\adobe photshop 7.0\ and c:\program files\adobe photoshop 7.0\
5. Read Forums for support
I'm attempting an installation again. I'm going to be reinstalling soon. So i'll have another chance to test it out, if not, its sad. I was intrested in a kais power tools 3.0 fix for photoshop 7.0, please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Enter Machine Password DNS Update Failed on Mac Pro 10.6.6

Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory with several PCs and 3 MACs, all three at 10.6.6.
Only one, the Mac Pro, is slow to access network resources, gets Enter Machine Password: DNS Update Failed on Console, and is much slower to open webpages than the other 2 MACs; they work fine. I know that AD is configured right since I have no network errors on them.
Can bind and unbind as expected, can access Mac from AD Server as well as other PC/Macs, so this issue is not like most all other posts in that everything works except slow network (opening a network share gets the spinning wait cursor).
    Any Ideas?
    TIA

On the offending Mac open System Preferences->Network pane and highlight the port that you are connecting to the domain. Then in the right side of the pane click on the word "Advanced". In that drop-down select the DNS tab and make sure it has the same DNS that the domain uses. You can use thew + button to add the correct DNS servers. Also while in the Network pane, Advanced, select the WINS tab and fill it the appropriate settings for the Windows Domain.
Also on the offending Mac open System Preferences->Date & Time and make sure the Map Location is correct and also you are using the same Time server that the Domain uses (you can type in the Time Server address in the Time Server field.
Lastly are you using DHCP or Static in your Domain?

  • 9.1.2 Update Fails in Acrobat Pro 9

I am running a standalone version of Acrobat Pro 9 on an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.8. I am trying to update Acrobat Pro 9 from 9.1.1 to 9.1.2 without success. I have had problems with EVERY SINGLE update from 9.0.0 whether from help>check for update OR from a direct download from Adobe.
When attempting to install 9.1.2 I receive the following message:
The patch has failed because the application has been modified since it was originally installed (for example, plug-ins may have been disabled). Please go to the Adobe support website for more information regarding how to re-enable disabled components prior to installing the patch.  Or, you can uninstall and reinstall the application, and then reinstall the patch.
The console log has the following messages:

I decided to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of a more up-to-date version of Acrobat Pro 9 from the Adobe site, but the uninstaller claims Adobe Acrobat Pro.app is an invalid file.
I've read countless messages online with similar stories and I find it incredible that there are so few solutions to all of these problems.
Contrary to my nature, I am hopeful someone can help.
    Thanks.
P.S. - it's hard not to be sympathetic to Apple's latest contretemps with Adobe Flash...

    graffiti, KamakuraKid, phillip -
thanks for all the tips - unfortunately none of the suggestions worked.
i first deleted the AUMProduct.aup file - the update failed.
i hoped a new admin account would do the trick, but was surprised to again encounter the "The patch has failed..." error.
as far as the python errors in console, i don't have these.
as a last resort i ran the uninstaller program, but it does not think Adobe Acrobat Pro.app is a valid program file!
i'd drag it to the waste basket, but am sure some piece left hanging somewhere would come back to haunt me.
not sure what to do now...

  • Mountain Lion 10.8.2 update failed on MacBook Pro

This morning I used the Mac App Store to apply the latest Mountain Lion update along with Evernote and XCode updates. They installed, prompted me to restart and when I did I was greeted with a progress bar during startup. This gets about a quarter of the way through, then dissappears and the MacBook turns off. When I power on the laptop again, I get the progress bar again, it gets a quarter of the way through and powers off again.
This is the first time I've had a problem with my Mac in over 2 years so I'm not too sure where to even begin diagnosing the problem.
    Any help is appreciated.

I had a similar issue, but the update wouldn't install via the app store, it just kept saying something must be wrong with the file, so I downloaded it from Apple's website. That was a mistake. When I installed it from the downloaded file, it corrupted my machine, as it seems it has with yours.
I tried booting into the recovery partition and running disk repar, but that told me I needed to backup and buy a new hard drive. Which I found funny since everything's been running fine up until the install (I'm on a MBP Mid-2010).
Long story short, I ended up having to reformat and restore from a TimeMachine backup. Everything's working fine now, and disk utility is reporting no problems.

  • IPhone/Ipad software update fail on MacBook Pro

Apologies in advance that this will be a bit convoluted. I Try to keep it concise.
I am trying to update my iPhone/iPad to latest software version 4.3.3. This works fine on my MacBook Air, but not on my MacBook Pro (First i& version, early 2010).
I phoned Mac support and been through all their check lists (Transfer purchases, backup, sync, turn off firewall, etc.). I have used disk repair, cocktail and Clean-my-Mac. I have removed everything form the startup menu in the admin account (which I am using) and have disabled/removed all security software.
I am still getting the following error message, after itunes has gone through extracting the software and syncing the device:
"The iPhone "xxx" cannot be updated at this time because the iPhone software server could not be contacted or is temporaily unavailable." (see shot below).
As I am using the same wireless router/network connection for the MacBook Air (which as I said updates fine), it is not likely to caused by router settings, but rather something on the MacBook Pro. As I uses it as my main machine and where i keep my Itunes library, I would like to be able to perform the software updates for the iDevices from there.
Has anyone had the same problem, and possibly a solution. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,

This was first posted on MacBook Pro forum, but it was suggested the me to repost it in both the iphone and ipad forum; apologies if this leads to duplication

    Thanks Nick,
    I will try this now.
Any idea though what would the MacBook Pro prevent the auto update, when the MacBook Air has no issues whatsoever. I want to avoid reinstalling the OS, maybe a re-install of iTunes might help.
    Any suggestions welcome.

  • Win 7 ADR Deployment - Updates deployments fail

    Hi All,
I am on the process of deploying Windows 7 ADR (which has last 1 year Win 7 Critical & security updates) on client machines, I am having 5 Win 7 test machines all with the same configuration. The problem is when i am deploying this ADR, many of the Updates
fails (I am checking this status from software center), when i retry the installation of these updates from software center they installs fine but they fails initially. I have increased the time of installation of the updates to be 60 mins. This has improved
the condition but still some of the updates are failing. It's like on the first machine the KB is deployed successfully & on the second one it fails.
What should i do to install the updates successfully on the machines. Please suggest.
    Thanks,

  • Photoshop cs4 11.0.2 update fails windows 7 64 bit

    Hello..
I finally got upgraded to windows 7 64 bit and and installed the cs4 download I got awhile back and it installed cs4 11.0 no problems. I got every update to install but the 11.0.2 update fails and I get this message
    "Adobe Setup has stopped working"
I have tried every thing I read, run as admin, move stuff out of appdat folder, reinstall.... reboot 39 times , I have no windowd defender or AV running at all everything I can find on here does not work and I get this error..... I read everyone gets this error except a darn few lucky souls..... so I tried compatibilty modes, it does the same error from win 98 all the way to win 7, xp same error vista same error it don't matter what version of windows this update seems to just stop working, so I did a troubleshooter on it and it determined that this program is incompatible with windows... I tried downloading it from Adobe and tried that... same error everytime.... don't matter if its through adobe updater or direct download this update fails and I decided to try 11.0.1 and it does the same so I guess PS CS4 11.0 is really not updatable to 11.0.2. and adobe suggests you to go cs5 to solve this problem. Except their updates fail to it looks like on this forum....
This is the problem details I get if it helps, because it does not leave a log for some reason.
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name:     APPCRASH

I have tried run as admin, same error pops up, I tried giving myself ownership and special permissions and everything to the PS folder since the exe is read only thinking thats why it wont update... I ran the clean script and reinstalled and tried every trick known to man ( well this forum and several others found on google) and nothing seems to work, the 11.0.2 update itself crashes, so I am just going to assume its windows fault because it does seem to work for other people....but it does seem to crash on mac I have read too... I have UAC disabled and no AV installed trying this so I installed my trend micro AV and checked and the puter is virus free so am not sure why I can not use the update but here is the screen shots I get....
I run setup.exe as admin I get this
then when I click on next, with 2 seconds I get this popping up, count 1,2 bam their it is..
so no matter what I do I get this error on 11.0.1 or 11.0.2 updates in every mode or permissions you can give...

  • Pixel Bender Update fails

The Adobe Application Manager ran about a week ago and updated my CS5 Master Ed to 12.0.3 however Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 update failed to install in AE and Fl Pro. Every time the manager runs with an update it won't install PB 2.5. I have turned of my AV and tried, no luck. If I go into AE, PB works no problem. It just won't take the update. I have PB in my Adobe collection but it's version 2.1. Any ideas what the problem might be? Will I have to do a complete reinstall? That is a last option if possible. I have tried to download PB 2.5 from the PB site but it won't install either. Here is the error:
