Win 7 Bluetooth problems with N958gb

Hi, I'm new to these forums, hope some one can advise.
Briefly my 95 8gb is about 3 years old now and it's a great phone for me, some niggles but great none the less.
I have always updated my phone via the Nokia software suite via my PC using XP home and have had no problems updating the latest phone firmware when needed.
There are no more firmware updates for my phone, the latest version installed is 20.0.016,  I also use Nokia PC suite  to make  back ups of my phone contents, to my PC, again no problems, under Windows XP home.
I have just installed the new RC version of Win 7 and getting to grips with that and along the way discovering which software or existing applications will run on/with the new OS, so far not that many problems and Win 7 has XP mode/virtulisation, a very good application but something to be wary of IMO.
I have downloaded the most recent Nokia PC suite on WIN 7 version 7.1.26.0 but am running into problems.
The 1st being clicking on the Nokia updater it can not find my phone regardless of what USB port I have the cable plugged in to on the PC. I am wondering if that's because there are no more updates to be had for my phone but usually a window would appear informing you your phone has the latest updates, this is no happening, it can't find my phone.
What I do get sometimes is a window informing me some Bluetooth peripheral is missing or can't be found, basically there are some drivers missing, If I try to update these drivers, I can't boxes are grayed out.
The next problem and I guess connected to the above and a lot more troublesome for me is I use my phone a lot as a camera and upload my pictures using a Belkin Bluetooth dongle, never had a problem until today, I can not get the N95 to recognize or connect to the dongle or vice versa under WIN 7, I cannot transfer a photo from my phone to my PC using Bluetooth, the phone informs me of a failed connection.
The dongle firmware has been updated.
Not a problem I thought, I'll install andI run the original dongle software and the original Nokia PC suite software in XP mode,( which is XP pro ), nothing doing, I'm running in to the same brick wall and problem.
This has surprised me a bit as everything worked great under my old OS, XP Home.
Where does the problem lay, can I get the N95 8gb bluetooth to run under WIN 7 or XP mode?

I'm using my Nokia N95-8GB on a HP Pavilion notebook with Windows 7 RC installed and it works fine so I can confirm there are no compatibility issues.
The only difference is that I'm using the embedded Bluetooth module instead of an external dongle (maybe this is the problem).
BTW, latest firmware for our mobile is v31, v20 is very old

  • How to fix the Bluetooth problems with the Treo

It’s pretty obvious by now that Palm had not intentions of addressing the Bluetooth problems with the Treo smart phones. As for me, I need to reset my Treo 700wx several times a day to keep the bluetooth connection working. At my house it simply does not work because I live in a rural area where my cell signal drops out continuously, only for a moment but that’s all it takes for the Treo loose the Bluetooth connection.
I’ve searched here on this board for a solution only to find out that I’m not the only one with this problem. I’ve searched the Internet and could not believe the endless complaints about this problem, not a single fix was to be found. I will be going to every single site I can find on the Internet where I can leave a review of this product and I would encourage others with the same problem to do the same.

The "Mobile Device" you see only shows what is on your Treo when ActiveSync is running and connected.  When it's not connected, there is "nothing".  This is good when you want to copy a file you have saved in RAM (main memory).  Connect your Treo and have Activesync run (successfully, of course).  Then, you will see all the accessible files on your Treo.
Please read the previous reply (I have added and edited it to respond to some of your questions).  Also, since I have the Card Export 3.14 for the WM5 and 6 running and it works on my Treo 750, I believe it should also work for you.  I have WM 6.  Earlier versions of Card Export actually "broke" Activesync for me.  It wasn't until very recently that I wanted to try it again, in hopes that they have fixed the bugs.  Apparently they have and I now use it to "fix" Activesync when it doesn't want to connect.
So, the latest version is 3.14 and it supports WM 5 and 6 (although they incorrectly named it Windows Mobile 2005/2006).

  • 9860 Bluetooth problems with car hands-free

I have a Torch 9860 that has problems with my new 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. I can pair it with the bluetooth in the car, and it will sometimes keep the connection on the next trip, but usually I get a 'connection failed' message.
If I revert to the previous OS version, the problem goes away. I had to have the phone replaced recently, though, and the problem is back. It works great with a Jabra earpiece, but not with the car. I could do the same downgrade, but I would prefer not to.
    Any ideas, please?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Another user posted, and it worked for me ... go into the properties of the Bluetooth connection and disable everything except 'handsfree dialing.' You will probably then have to re-pair. You won't get streaming music, but I never use that anyway. Hyunday is supposed to be working on a fix, and gave me a rough date of the end of the month. Good luck!

  • Bluetooth Problem with my N79

    Dear All,
My Nokia N79 is 2 months old now.  Since the last two days i have been facing a weird problem with it.
even with my Bluetooth turned on and phone visibility set to Shown to all, My N79 does not get detected by either my PC nor by any other Nokia or Sony Ericsson cellphone.
even when i try to  connect to the paired devices i had setup, i get an "unable to connect" error.
Last successful file transfer was done on satrdy, 21st Feb, but since 24th i am facing this problem.
Is there any solution to this....
Is it a Firmware BUG or a Device component Failure...???
Please advice me on the same.
    Tanks & Regards,
    Cloyd

Other reset is the hard reset.
Try the "3 finger deep reset" which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM. I presume you already have a backup.
If this doesn't do it then problem is probably hardware and the only option then is to head for the Nokia Care Point..

  • IOS 5.1 bluetooth problem with LG HBS-700

After upgrading to iOS 5.1, my LG HBS-700 bluetooth headset still plays music from my iPhone, but the music controls no longer work (play/pause, next/last track).  The phone functionality (start/answer call) still works.  Is anyone else having these sorts of problems?  I 'forgot' the device and re-connected it, but that did not correct the problem.  I suspect its in one of the sub-functions of bluetooth signalling, but I'm not familiar enough with the standard to correctly designate it (I suspect someone in Apple knows it off the top of their head ._. )
    Thank you.

Oddly enough I didn't have any problems with the HBS-700 on my iPhone 4 running IOS 6. However I got an iPhone 5 recently and noticed today the exact same thing you describe. Call and volume controls work fine, but I have no control at all of any music playing. This totally *****, but I have no idea if its a problem that Apple needs to correct or a problem with the LG which would mean it can't be fixed. Totally frustrated.

  • 1.1.3 Update & Bluetooth Problems with Nuvi 680

I have been using my iPhone with a Garmin nuvi 680. The nuvi 680 has Bluetooth and can be used as a hands free speaker/mike. I had been using it happily until I upgraded to the 1.1.3 update last night. Now even tough I get an initial connection, it is dropped within a minute or so. Apparently, the connection is reestablished at some point, because after a few minutes the dialog screen warning comes up again telling me that the phone was dropped. This goes on ad infinitum until I unpair the iPhone or turn off Bluetooth. I have tried unpairing and pairing again with the nuvi. It didn't have any effect. I am going to reset the iPhone and try again, but I am not sure that will help.
The most irritating thing about this problem is that the dialog that keeps coming up, has to be dismissed manually before you go back to navigation. After dismissing the dialog 5 or 6 times, I just turn off Bluetooth in frustration.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems? How did you fix the issue?

I am experiencing the same thing. Very frustrating. I got rid of my Motorola Q about 1 week ago and the bluetooth with that phone did the same disconnect cycle (except it also crashed the phone a lot). I have been in heaven with my new iPhone especially with the bluetooth working with my Nuvi 680....for about a week. Now with 1.1.3 I'm back to angry. I would actually seriously consider going back to 1.1.2. I need bluetooth to work with my GPS more than I need homescreen icons or maps triangulation (that's what my gps is for). I'm new to Apple cycle with this type of issue, but I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised to find a quickly rolled out fix.

  • Bluetooth Problems With iPhone 6

With the latest iOS on iPhone 6 is there still problems with Bluetooth connectivity? I have a FitBit, a Plantronics Marque 2, and a Casio STB-1000 watch that will not stay constantly connected. Since the later two were new, I was blaming them until I started having problems with the Fitbit which I never had problems on my iPhone 5 and seeing others having problems. Come on Apple, with all the people having problems we need a fix.

    Hi stevenfrommarion,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like there is trouble with bluetooth connectivity. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Bluetooth problems with Xperia C4 - Android Wear - Motorola 360

Hello, I have a serious problem with my new Sony Xperia C4 Dual phone
I'm always losing the connection with my Motorola 360 smartwatch. The first time I start everything, I can pair my phone with my watch.
Everything is working fine (watchfaces, apps, notifications, etc).
But randomly (can be 1 hour or can be 1 day, when the phone is too far from the watch, after a phone restart, or ...) the Bluetooth connection is lost and will never come back.
If I could restart the connection that would not be that serious but... I can't!
Android Wear will then start hanging on "Connecting" state and it will not reconnnect until I completely restart the pairing process. The only way is to reconnect is :
    1. Delete the watch in Motorola Connect
    2. Delete the watch in Android Wear
    3. Hard reset the watch (otherwise it's impossible to start the pairing process)
    4. Turn off and turn on bluetooth on Xperia C4
    5. Disconnect all other Bluetooth devices (like car audio and BSP10 Speaker)
    6. Restart the pairing process
The whole process is taking about 15 minutes and 30% of the watch battery. (because every apps needs to be reinstalled) What I did so far and did not fix the random disconnection problem :
-Hard resetted 2 times the phone
-Hard resetted 4 times the watch (2x on 5.0 and 2x on 5.1 Android Wear)
    -Restarted many times the phone
    -Restarted many times the watch
-Tried with the "Sony Smart Connect App" disabled on the phone
-Tried without any extra app on the watch (uninstalled trackID or Sony Music, for example)
-Updated all the apps on the phone
-Tried with a "Blank" phone and "Blank" watch (did not install ANY application) What I can say :
-The problem occurs even in Android 5.0.2 or 5.1.1 on the watch (Motorola has just rolled out the 5.1.1 OTA)
-The problem occurs with different Moto 360 Watches (tried with the watch of a friend, same problems)
-The problem occurs only on the Xperia C4 (Dual) phone. (works great on a Zopo ZP999, Wiko Highway and Galaxy S3)
-Even after resetting, it is sometimes difficult to find the watch in the Bluetooth list, while every other phone can see the watch perfectly!
-Bluetooth hardware is working perfectly, because I can connect to my car, with my BSP10 speaker and another Bose SLIII Speaker. Additional information for the watch :Motorola 360 Watch Build LDZ220Android Wear 1.1.1.2006643Google Play Services 7.5.76 (2002306-534)Android Platform 5.1.1 Additional information for the phone :Android 5.0Model E5333 (Xperia C4 Dual)Build 27.1.B.1.81Smart Connect 5.7.18.401 (11 june 2015) What I think :
There is something that is preventing the watch from being connected properly in the Sony extra Apps.
I think the Smart Connect and Throw (and maybe other) extra apps are bringing a lot of trouble to the Bluetooth connection with the watch. Since 2 days, Motorola has just rolled out the 5.1.1 update of the Moto 360 watch, the update is now enabling WiFi.
I connected my watch to the wifi and the "Cloud sync" connection is working perfectly in Android Wear.
When there is no Wifi network, the phone/watch are trying to connect back with Bluetooth... and the problems can begin. Other problem : when the watch is connected to the phone, immediatly after making NFC contact with my Sony BSP10 speaker (to pair them), the connection is lost between the phone and the watch. So if I use my speaker i will have to hard reset my watch. In fact... every morning I take my watch and I need to start that f*c*in pairing process because of the software bug on the phone. Can somebody help here?
Is there any update planned? Thanks in advance, Guich

Hello Quester : Like I said, I tried with two different watches ( 2x moto 360) and the problem is still present.
So you can exclude there is something wrong with the watch.
I tried with 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 on the watch and it has no effect. My bluetooth hardware is working fine one the phone, too. (other devices are working, like speakers, car, laptop). So clearly, there is a SOFTWARE issue that drops the pairing and makes Android Wear losing the connection and never coming back. Yesterday everything was working fine until I used the BSP10 speaker, connection with the watch was lost.
I'm absolutely sure the problem is bound to Sony Smart Connect/Throw/whatever because on other phones it works perfectly!

    Hello everyone
First, my DVD drive just stopped working, it's not being recognized by Arch it seems. This has happened before a few times, but it suddenly started to work. I can open the tray manually, and when I insert a DVD, you can see the led blinking and drive does start to spin, but thats all. I've tried removing and reloading cdrom module with no success. Also, there was a /dev/sr0 before, now it's gone.

Now, the camera issue is a bit different. It worked before with no problems. But now, when I start guvcview, it opens it's main window, and a second window that usually show picture from camera, just appears for a moment and disappears. The led next to my camera turns on, and stays that way. Also, yesterday when I was trying to test the camera, guvcview stuck in a uninteruptible state, so I couldn't kill him in any way. Even after I close guvcview, the camera led is still on, but he is not among active processes. Although in the guvcview output below it says that the device is in use, I don't know how, because I rebooted my laptop and then I tried to run it.
This is what guvcview outputs in console after I start and then close it:

For the bluetooth, I really never managed to get it working. The bluetooth daemons starts with no problems, but hcitool dev shows no devices. I read the wiki, and the only thing I didn't try is the hid2hci tool, I couldn't figure out what to use for devpath argument.
    Thanks.

  • Bluetooth problem with 6230i

I'm beginning to think that getting Bluetooth was a big mistake. I use a Belkin dongle with a WIDCOMM 3.0.1.912 driver and a "just downloaded" version of PC Suite. The PC is running WXP SP2. I've paired the phone and the PC successfully and see the phone in "My Bluetooth Places". However there seem to be a number of problems. The first is that with BT enabled on the computer, when I enable BT on the phone it doesn't always ask for a confirmation message but the "Connected" balloon appears in the the system tray. If I then try to open any function in PC Suite nothing happens. Also, My BT Places tells my I'm not connected to PC Suite. The only way out of all this is to re-boot the PC and start over. When I do that, and going through the procedure again, the phone *does* ask for confirmation and all's well (PC Suite works) except that My BT Places *still* says I'm *not* connected to PC Suite when I'm actually working with the application!
Furthermore, I can't get any other phone software (Oxygen Phone Manager for example) to see the phone at all.
I think this is a BT problem (maybe confined to Belkin) but the whole thing is a mess and I wish I'd bought a cable. Which cable is best if I *don't* want to use PC Suite?

sound like you have two bluetooth drivers installed on windows. this happens when you plug your bluetooth adapter in first, then install its software. i had a right pain sorting this out myself.
Basically you need to follow the advice here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883258
You are looking for these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then expand Bluetooth Radios.
    3. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter, and then click Properties.
    4. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver.
    5. Install the updated driver manually by using the Have disk option in the wizard. Locate the manufacturer's installation files, and then find the .inf file that is required to install the driver.
    6. Complete the manufacturer's software installation steps.
voila, you now have only one set of drivers installed
