Win 7 doesn't see ipod clickwheel

Downloaded iTunes and installed on Win7.  Connected iPod click wheel, windows says "driver didn't install" and iPod doesn't appear in iTunes.

Hi @EricEricEric
I would like to help you complete the software installation. Please first go to the front panel of the printer and touch the arrow down to navigate to and select Settings. In the Settings menu, look for and choose the Wireless menu, then select  Advanced Settings. In the Advanced network settings, choose IPv6 and turn it off. Once the IPv6 is off, return to the computer, and download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
I hope this helps.

  • Frozen in "Do Not Disconnect" iTunes doesn't see iPod

I have never had one bit of trouble with my iPod until today. I plugged it in, the Do Not Disconnect comes up, the clock is frozen, no charging happening and iTunes doesn't see the iPod. I tried the "restart" and nothing is working. What do I do?
I haven't upgraded to iTunes 8.1 yet, would that help?
    HELP!

OK, so I tried the Reset again. Still didn't work. THEN I saw this:
    Tip:
+If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.+
Tried it again and now it's all better.

  • Shuffle On Desktop/Updater doesn't see iPod

My iPod Shuffle shows up on the desktop. The amber recharge light is blinking. When iTunes opens, I get the following message: "iTunes has detected a software update for the iPod. Would you like to install it now?" When I click "Okay", the updater opens and I get the following message: "An unexpected error occurred". When I click "okay", the updater now tells me to plug in an iPod to update it. My iPod is plugged in and charging, and is on the desktop. When I quit the updater, my iPod does not appear in the iTunes source list.
I then quit and reopened iTunes. This time when prompted regarding the software update, I click cancel. iTunes now opens with my iPod listed in the Source list. However, when I go to add songs to the iPod I get the following message: "Some of the songs in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod because your iPod software is too old. Go to www.apple.com/ipod to get the latest iPod software update."
I've reinstalled the updater 3 times now. I got the same results as described above each time. The updater doesn't see the iPod. What is the "unexpected error"? Why doesn't the Updater see the iPod?
    Thanks for any help.

I just downloaded the latest updater version, plugged in my iPod Shuffle, and sat in wide eyed amazement as it actually recognized that the iPod was, in fact, plugged into the computer!!!
I held my breath while the updater did it's thing... could this actually be it? Could I finally join the army of gleeful millions, listening to my favorite tunes and newscasts while jogging? Would the wonderful little gift I got for Christmas finally - gulp! - work?
Alas, no. Just as the updater was finishing up I got the following glass if ice water in my face:
"An error occurred updating or restoring iPod. Disconnect iPod, reconnect and then try restoring again. If that does not work, go to http://www.apple.com/support/ipod"
I did that, and noticed that "restoring" was not an option, as the "restore" button wasn't active. Ah well... my iPod shuffle goes back into it's neat little packaging, and back onto the shelf while I await the next round of potential solutions to slowly work their way down to the Discussions Sub-basement.
I swear to God, I will not give up on this. I know it can work. Someday, someday...

  • ITunes doesn't see iPods

starting last nite my iTunes doesn't see either iPod that always appeared when plugged in. I changed my connecting wire without any better results.

Bentley, try downloading and re-installing iTunes. I had a similar problem on my Macbook - I could see my iPod in the Finder but iTunes couldn't see it. I re-installed iTunes and voila, it was there.

  • Macbookpro doesn't see ipod touch 5

I want to get the photos and videos off my ipod onto my computer.  My computer doesn't "see" the ipod.  iTunes sees it but doesn't give me options for the camera.
I've searched but can only find ways to move pics and videos via wireless connection (not finding the app on/for my 10.6.8) or the cloud.  I want to just plug it into my computer and drag them over.  Seems like the easier things get, the harder they get.
    Advice?

Also also - I ordered, received, and installed an Iogear 4 port USB 2.0 pci card, hoping against hope that that would solve the issue. It didn't. I've been working on this since the day after Christmas. The problem seems so uniquely simple, and yet I've never been more frustrated with an Apple product.
Why won't the updater recognize my iPod and allow me to install the software? I personally believe that there is some communications glitch between iTunes 6.0.1, OS 10.3.9, and iPod updater. Any word on new versions coming out of the Apple bat cave?
    Thanks for any help.

  • IMac doesn't see iPods/iPhone

It doesn't recognize any of these:
    1 iPod Classic.
    1 iPod touch.
    1 iPhone 3G.
It doesn't appear in the Desktop, or Disk Utility, or iTunes. I connect any of these and nothing happens in the iMac or in the iPhone/iPods. No beeps, no hard drive noise, no nothing.
The problem isn't the cable, I've tested with different working cables and it doesn't work. The USB port works for everything else.
The iPhondes are recognized by other computers.
I think it might be some kind of a driver thing. If it helps to solve this, I don't see any iPod related process in the Activiy Monitor.
Already tried reinstalling iTunes, it didn't work.
    Running Snow Leopard.

  • Win/iTunes doesn't recognize iPod + monochrome charger icon, please help

Yesterday, my iPod was fine and now it doesn't seem to work. When I put in my iPod, it goes in, I see the Apple logo and then it goes straight to the monochrome charger icon. iTunes nor Windows recognizes it and when I take it out, the iPod doesn't work at all. Nothing appears. I tried the R's, and nothing. I've had the iPod for about 6 months, I'm hoping the battery didn't expire already... Someone please help me out. If it helps, iTunes 7.0 and I have Windows 2000 and Disk Use was enabled. Thank you.

    Anything here of help?

  • ITunes doesn't see iPod (Vista 64-bit)

I connect the iPod touch to the computer and it charges, (duh-duh noise as if it's connected) but it doesn't appear in iTunes.
I have tried it on Windows XP pro SP3 64-bit partition on my computer, and on Windows Vista 32-bit laptop and both work fine.
However, here's a list of things that I've tried on Vista 64-bit to get it to work:
-Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, Quicktime, the bonjour service, apple mobile device support, apple software update, apple application support etc in the order stated by Apple on here. I have then even deleted all folders that weren't removed with the uninstall.
-Holding the power and home button on the touch itself to reset the settings.
-Forcing device manager to display iPod as USB controller.
-Stopping and starting the iPod service under 'Services'.
    -Connecting in recovery mode.
    -Updating iTunes and QuickTime etc.
    -Changing USB cables
I've even tried connecting an iPhone to the computer (running Vista 64-bit OS) and that doesn't connect.
So I know it's something wrong on the OS and not the iPod or the cable. The computer's fine as the XP partition works fine with it.
    Got any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

I do indeed install iTunes64-bit version. After much deliberation I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 to see if this fixed the problem before I did a complete re-install (as I didn't want to lose all my programs etc).
After I installed the Windows 7 upgrade (from Vista - Windows 7 just to clarify) it works perfectly. Installed first time with no problems.
I recommend this technique to anyone who can't figure it out and doesn't want to fork out an extra £240 for an iPod Touch again. It's a cheaper way of doing it anyway, if you pay for such software that is...

I too have a simular problems! Managing music is the biggest problem with over 0 Gigs. Some artists songs sometimes change name titles, artists,?and etc. Win Explorer is most used by me now. Yes, I do lose sync from time to time! Especially when I open two windows on the portable zen. There are two tools that need. . Playlist management - it takes too long to do it on the player. I want to create "Gym Vibes" and had it on my old creative?Nomad player, but couldn't transfer. "Creative Sync Manager" doesn't do it!?Without all that sync stuff how can I create and edit creative's playlist on a PC?2. A method for detecting dupicates? This is my second creative portable and if I don't get the tools I won't buy another!

  • Mac OSX doesn't see ipod Mini

Hey, I have the MacBook, and I know it isn't a software issue because it doesn't connect to any machines. The Mac doesn't even bring up the icon on the CPU. What should I do?
Also on the ipod it just has the battery icon, and it isn't charging, it is staying on the first block.

Uh, don't want to sound like a smartarse, but how can s/he restore it if the iPod isn't recognised... :-/

  • ITunes doesn't see iPod

I'm running iTunes 601 on a g4 with system 10.3.9. iTunes won't recognise my ipod...anyone have any ideas?

I'm having the same issue, except my ipod updater does not see the ipod. My ipod has been working great and then yesterday while it was still connected to my computer Windows update appeared. I accepted and then restarted. When I did Windows did some sort of checkdisk to a drive G (later I figured out it was my ipod) now the computer sees my ipod in the device manager and itunes will not pick it up. I followed every step in the troubleshooting with no result. There is a drive G in my computer as well that I can't access.

  • Itunes software doesn't see ipod

can't get brand new ipod shuffle to work. think it is suppose to open itunes software when i connect to usb. it doesn't. it does show up in my computer as removable drive. when i open itunes ipod does not show up in source panel. i've tried everything recommended in the owners manual including upgrading itunes. 7 hours still no music and i'm getting frustrated. is my brand new ipod defective? suggestions?

also i did online chat with apple support rep. rep suggested usb port problems because ipod flashed green. I found a port flashing amber. ipod still doesn't show up in itunes software even with amber light. port issues are strange since i use these ports with lots of other devices without problems.

  • ITunes doesn't see iPod Touch

I recently had to restore my Mac from Time Machine. Most things work fine, but iTunes does not see my iPod Touch. I'm not sure, but I think this backup was made just before I updated the Touch to iOS 4. I don't know if that would make a difference or not. Any ideas on how I can get these two talking again?

    Same problem on my MacBook:
    - iPod Touch directly connected to the Mac (built in USB port)
    - iTunes 8.02
    - iPod Touch 8 GB with Version 2.2
From one day to the other iTunes does not recognize the iPod. First messages says ".. you have to unlock the iPod..." then (when done) Error message "0xe8000001" appears.
Could not find a solution for me, even i found many users with Problem "0xe8000001" but the found hints do not help.
I tried to reinstall iTunes, but this does not helped.
The iPod is recongnized on an other (not my) Mac/iTunes - but I want to have it connected /synchronized on my Mac.
I can remember, that I runned some SW updates from apple (as I do every time when updates are displayed) in the same time when the error occured, but I can not say if this can be the reason.
My idea was to restore the iPod - but how to do this without iTunes?
    Any idea?
