Win 8.1 Drivers x64 for deskjet 710c

Hi
Mainly for the attention of Alan Morris at Microsoft. He has patched the drivers for Windows 7 x64 of which a stick post has been made in the HP Printer Driver forums.
We now need a patch for Windows 8.1 x64 as the native driver supplied with windows crashes the sub spooler which maybe the same problem as Windows 7 x64. The driver communicates with the printer, eg. clean heads and prime cartridge work but when u come to
print the spooler isolation driver crashes in windows 8.1 x64.
So can we have a patch?
regards
Tim

I doubt HP will ever release a 71X, 81X, or 82x driver that works on x64.  I asked that this be removed once before but then the 32bit gets removed as well.  If you have a Server 2003 64bit CD you could see if the driver on that media works.
If the printer has every Plug and Played on the machine, the 2003 driver will get replaced by the WU version and the spooler or printisolationhost will crash again.  It's seems like I tried this at one point on Win8 without success.  It's been a
while ago.
Bob Headricks and I monkeyed around keeping the 2003 locked in but WU always seemed to replace it at some point.
Yes I asked HP to update the WU binary but no luck there.

  • Custom size for DeskJet 710C

    Hi,
I'm trying to set custom dimensions for the paper size for my DeskJet 710C.
I see from this link that I should be able to do it however when I view the different paper sizes in the list there is no option to select Custom Size.
The layout of the driver dialog is also different from the documentation but the driver is certainly for the 710C installed via Windows.
Should I be looking for an update. Can anybody help?
    Many Thanks
    Dan

What operating system are you using? In Vista (and perhaps XP?) you could do the following:  go to the Printers folder and right click on a blank spot.  Select "Run as Administrator", then "Server Properties".  When the UAC prompt comes up click Continue.  Next click the "Create a new form" checkbox, then select a name and appropriate size for the form.  Next select Save Form, Close.
Next open the printer properties for the Deskjet 710c, the new form you defined previously should now be available.  (You may need to restart the computer to have the new form show up.)

  • Windows 7 Drivers Needed for Deskjet 6540

    Hello,
We use 2 Deskjet 6540's @ my office. I have the windows 7 RC, and cannot get it to load drivers for the printers. I download the vista driver, and it says This driver is not for windows 7.and does not give me a "so what" option.
    any help would be appreciated.
    Keith

As of today Sept 16, 2011 the printer drivers from windows 7 work. It still requires some effort.
    1) let the printer install (if it is already and the following steps do not work remove the device and let it reinstall)
    2) right click on the printer in "Devices and Printers"
    3) select "Printer Properties"
    4) go to the "Device Setting" tab in the top row in the middle
    5) under "installable options" click after the duplexer options and select "installed" from the drop down menu
    6) click "OK"
I take no responsibility it this does not work for you, it work for me on Window 7 SP1

  • Windows 8.1 Drivers for DeskJet 842C

I've just purchased a new Dell Inspirion 3647 with Windows 8.1 as a replacement for my old (no longer supported) Windows XP system.  My old DeskJet 842C printer doesn't appear to have drivers in Windows 8.1.  Has there been any drivers developed for this somewhat old printer?  I have downloaded the HP utility hppiw.exe and it lists the printer as USB connected to my computer, but offers no solution for finding a driver.

    Gball1601, welcome to the forum.
Have you ran Windows Update to see if it finds a driver?  I wasn't able to find one.
Here is a guide that may help you find a driver.

  • Deskjet 710c and D1460 dont print in windows 8.1 update x64

I cant get my two HP printers to work in the above OS. They work fine with the default drivers in the 32 bit version of the OS but I get an error the spooler has stopped. I ran the windows printer troubleshooter and it said the drivers needed to be isolated as the fix. Now nothing happens no print or error! Help

    Hello Banger,
I see that you're trying to install your printers on Windows 8.1. I will try to help with this.
For your Deskjet 710c, the only way you'll be able to install this is by using an in OS driver. Simply meaning going to device/printer and "add a printer". You may need to run the Windows update to get the corresponding driver. This document: Install a Windows 8 Driver with Windows Update, should guide you through that. (even though it was for Win8.)
For the Deskjet D1460, you can download the software package here: HP Deskjet D1400/D2400/D4200 Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver. This is the only download available. Just let it extract and then do the same as above, the extraction will put the basic print drivers in the list to choose from. This avoids installing all the other software if you just want the basic driver files.
Try the above and let me know if it was able to help. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Win XP Pro drivers and install order for Qosmio E10

    Hello,
I bought recently Qosmio E10 in Korea. The OS is Korean Win XP Home. I would like to change it, so I guess I have two options:
    1. Get a restore CD in English. But I read that Toshiba has the strange rule not to give restore CD with different language. I wrote them, they don't answer for now.
    2. Install Win XP Pro myself (I have only this license). The issue in this case is to be able to get all the drivers I need. I found good drivers on several locations:
On http://www.toshiba.co.kr, but I worry that these drivers are for Korean XP.
    The other place is http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
In this place, most of the drivers are for Media Center edition. There are drivers for XP Pro, but they are not so many and there is no install order. For example, there is no NVidia driver, while such driver is available for the media center. Maybe I can use Media center drivers on XP Pro?
So my question is: What drivers I have to use and and what order to get a proper working XP Pro. It would be nice to know where to download QosmioUI. I found the Linux player and I will install it, but I want also to have the player in Windows.

    Hello
As far as I know the software is bundled on notebook and if you buy a notebook you buy automatically OS and license to use it. That means that you can not order a recovery DVD on another language. Qosmio E10 is delivered with Windows MCE2004 SP1a.
The only possibility is to install Microsoft Windows XP OS (full version, with or without MCE), and then you must install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities separately.
For English language you can find them on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under Support & Downloads.

  • Win XP 64 drivers for Satellite A305-S685

    Hi there,
    i bought a labtop A305-S685, which is 64 bit.
I installed Win xp 32bit but its much slower so i got Win XP 64bit for better performance but i didn't find any driver for XP 64
    on Toshiba site..........
    Can anybody help me?

The Windows XP 64bit drivers dont exist and I doubt they will be available in the future. The point is that the XP 64bit is not so popular like Win XP32bit and most 3rd party applications dont work on this OS.
Now the Vista is future or until Windows 7 will be released :D and I think you will get only the Vista 64bit drivers for this unit.
Maybe you can collect some single Win XP 64bit drivers from any 3rd party websites.
This would be your last chance.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709 - works fine. WIN 7 Pro drivers and registry severely messed up.

I was having problem printing (cant recall the exact error at this point) and every attempt to fix got me in more trouble.  I ended up trying to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and then the device, but clearly failed to do it properly as now everything to do with the printer gives me an hourglass and need to reboot to end the process.
I know its the PC because I have another WIN 7 on the home network which works just fine.
Even clicking Devices and Printers in Control panel ends in hourglass as described above.
So I ran HP Print and Scan Doctor.  It too ends (quickly) with the hourglass.  I suspect that to some one who lnows what they are doing the log  file will tell the story, so here it is:

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Swiv ,
I read your post about the issues you are having with your printer on your one Windows 7 system. I have a few suggestions for you to try if you would like. If they do not help, I would then suggest Microsoft Support for better exposure on the issue you're having.
    1. Uninstall the printer by running the Microsoft Fix It tool
    2. Restart the PC
    3. Perform a Clean Boot
    4. Restart the PC again
    5. Unregistering and re-registering the Microsoft Windows Installer service:
    1. Click the Start menu and type " cmd " in the search field and press enter.
    2. Type in " msiexec /unregister " and then press enter.
    3. Type in " msiexec /regserver " and then press enter.
    4. Restart your PC and try the installation.
    6. Using System File Checker to Restore System Files
    7. Restart the PC
    8. Install the printer by running the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
    9. Once installed, go back to the Clean Boot to enable your start up programs again.
    10. If this does not work, try posting the issue in the Microsoft Support Community

  • Deskjet 710c - Cannot align cartridges

    Hi,
I have replaced the color cartridge on my printer but cannot make a cartrige alignment. When I try to make a alignment Explorer crashes.
Note that: I run Windows 7 (64); the printer can print any document; I can print a Test Page; I use a USB/Parrallel adapter; I installed the 64 bits Windows 7 patch.
What can I do to align the cartridges?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi @YBeaupre,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP Deskjet 710c cannot align your cartridges, and I am happy to help!
After some searching, according to this guide, I Cannot Access HP Toolbox After Installing a Windows 7 in-OS Driver, there is no workaround for aligning the cartridges from the computer.
However, I would recommend to try removing both cartridges and re-inserting them. Otherwise if you have an XP computer you could install the drivers on it and align the cartridges that way.
Hope this information is useful, and have a wonderful day!

  • Deskjet 710C not printing after Windows 10 Upgrade

Hi folks, I have recently completed the Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 7 with no issues, or so I thought.  My Deskjet 710C appeared to be installed correctly (it was working correctly under Windows 7), but if you try to print to the printer or print a test page from the control panel, the printer does not do anything. I checked the compatibility page and completely re-installed the device including drivers from Windows Update for the 710C (it was previously using drivers for the 720C, but this has never been a problem).  Still no response. If I print a test page while having the print queue open in Windows I can see that the test page lands in the print queue for a moment, but then disappears without the printer actually doing anything.  No error messages, but no printing. Is this a driver issue, or is it something else I'm overlooking?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Larry

Hi , I did research this issue. The drivers are listed that they should work from the Windows Updates, but they are not communicating. HP Printers - HP Printers That Work with Windows 10.I checked the website and all the drivers from Windows XP up to WIndows 10 are installed by the built in Windows drivers. This printer is at least 10 years old and has parallel port. If the port is showing LPT1 for the ports tab for the Printer's Properties, then the only other thing I can suggest is to run theDownload and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Thank You.

  • HP deskjet 710c and windows 7 64 bit serial port configuration

    Hi computer people,
Please help, I can't get my Hp deskjet 710c to print with Windows 7 professional 64 bit computer via non usb i.e I am using the serial port connections via computer and printer. Any solutions as to why it won't print ?

    Hello PeterB91,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how you are not able to  print on your Windows 7 computer, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Unfortunately, the only way to update the drivers for your printer on your computer is to connect the two devices with a USB cable. This will allow the installation of Plug-and-Play drivers. According to the Product Specifications for your printer, the only available connection-type is for the IEEE cable.
As a workaround, you may be able to use a USB to IEEE adapter, but this option is not guaranteed.
    I hope this helps!

  • Yoga 13 after Win 8.1 update - apps for Netflix, CNN, ESPN, etc. will not play video - WTH?

Can someone point me to where I can download the right driver(s) / updates that fix thw Windows 8.1 mess that crippled video playback in the Modern/Metro Win8 interface please?
I had other issues with wireless (which I fixed by buying a Linsys 802.11ac USB nub - finally decent range & performance), but really want to get this Win 8.1 video playback issue fixed.
    OS is Windows 8.1
    Version 6.3.9600 Build 9600
    System Model 20175
    System SKU Lenovo_MT_20175
    BIOS Version/Date Lenovo 66N55WW 2/28/2013
    BIOS Mode UEFI
HD Graphics 4000 Driver date 10/1/2013
    Driver Version 10.18.10.3316
Monitor driver is generic PnP Monitor by Microsoft, dated 6/21/2006
    Driver Version 6.3.9600.16384
    Purchased the system May, 2013.
Very disappointed that Microsoft/Intel/Lenovo forced this 8.1 "upgrade" on us without having checked it for flaws in operation like this.  I've read other people having this, and similar problems, so any fixes / suggestions / links are greatly welcomed.

(Note that all of the following applies only to the Yoga 13)
I think the previous reply is inaccurate in several ways.  Let me address each one:
"Seems like the fix for many of our Windows 8.1 update issues is to roll back to the Windows 8 drivers Lenovo offers on its site (Conexant Audio Driver in this case)"
This isn't quite correct.  There is no need to "roll back" to any previous driver versions.  What actually happened with the Windows 8.1 upgrade is that the Windows installation process reinstalled or refreshed all of the drivers in the system, and for some reason this driver installation process screwed up and left some drivers not functioning correctly. In almost all cases the solution is to simply reinstall that driver with the current/same version. The Conexant driver is the poster child for this problem.  The version of the driver that comes with the Windows 8.1 upgrade is the same as the version on the Lenovo site.  However it is often necessary to reinstall this driver to get it installed correctly.
I just want to reiterate that this is not a version problem, it's a problem with the way 8.1 reinstalled the drivers. This need to reinstall drivers affected people differently, with some people needing to reinstall other drivers as well, such as the Intel Thermal Framework drivers, etc.
Windows 8.1 comes with newer versions (also newer than the reposted drivers on the Lenovo site) of the network Wifi drivers that for my system have been an improvement. However I have not experienced a lot of the Wifi issues that others have reported.  The only issue I have had with Wifi is that it was always a bit slow to connect after coming out of sleep mode (30-60 seconds). After the 8.1 upgrade my Wifi connects very fast (less than 5 seconds).
Windows 8.1 also came with an updated Intel graphics driver that is newer than the one on the Lenovo site.  I am not aware of any problems with this new version.
My Yoga 13 is now functioning perfectly after the 8.1 update, although I did have to perform the reinstall of the Conexant drivers, and I had to reapply the fix for the touch screen missing the first swipe.  I recommend the list of Yoga 13 fixes mentioned on this site.
"Microsoft or Lenovo should add a setting to the "Configure Windows Update" options - it should be "Wait 6 months after the update is published for it to stabilize"
I don't agree with this as the drivers that come with 8.1 weren't unstable or problematic. Again, the problem is with the 8.1 installation process, and I do agree that Microsoft should work on fixing that.  It has certainly caused a lot of people some grief, but it also seems that we have a solution which is the driver reinstalls.
I also don't recommend turning off Windows update.
Finally, it may be that some of the issues you bulleted are more serious than I am aware, as I haven't had all of these problems.  I would like to know more about these:
"Kill the video / audio in Windows Apps (aka "Modern" interface) - Netflix, ESPN videos, CNN videos, etc.  "
This is certainly a common problem. At least we have the fix for this (reinstall the Conexant drivers).
"Degrade WLAN performance (range and speed)"
I am skeptical that 8.1 is responsible for Wifi issues.  Seems like in general the new 8.1 network stack is better.  I know that many people had wifi issues prior to the update.
"Fuzz out the resolution / display such that Display has to be turned down from 150% to "small""
I don't know about this issue, so I would like to hear more.
Mess up touchpad, keyboard, tablet-mode keyboard
This again seems more like a problem that existed before 8.1, as many people had issues with this.  The most consistent solution seems to be disabling the "ymc" service.

  • L7555 - Cannot install Win 8.1 drivers

I really need to print something and the old Win8 drivers will not work so I uninstalled everything and am trying it install the new Win 8.1 drivers.  I must be insane because I am trying to do the exact same thing expecting different results.  What is the deal here?  I am tired of seeing this message and I really need my printer 60 minutes ago!!!!!!!
"The system cannot find the file specified"
The printer is recognized on the network and I can open the properties via a web browser using the IP address.  When I click the install button on the installation software all I get is the above message.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi midas001
    Sorry this is so frustrating.
Was there not a  uninstall_L3 listed either?
    We could have ran it.
This url  is a scrubber to remove old printer files. It will work for your product also.

If the scrubber doesn't work then follow Step two: Remove any installed HP software from this url.

This url is for uninstalling a program.

Then download, save and then run the downloaded drivers from url below. Just put in the operating system and click the next button.
