Win 8.1 un-repsonsive after login, random restarts during startup
SPECS:
CPU: I7 4770K @stock
MOBO: MSI Z87 GD65
RAM: 8GB Corsair Platinum @1600MHz
SSD: 120GB Samsung 840 evo
HDD: 1TB WD Black
GPU: MSI GTX 970
PSU: 850W EVGA Supernova G2
WIN 8.1 Enteroprise (EVALUATION) (I need to save a little more for a full version, got 30days left ^.^)
Hi all, I have tried my best to fix this issue alone but I am really struggling now. I have had my new rig for a while, I have a had a few minor issues which have all seemingly been fixed now. The main one was my old win7 install; before I grabbed
my new GPU if I were to game using integrated GFX I would occasionally crash; my board would refuse to boot with both sticks of my memory and I would need to try them one by one to get them to boot. All of a sudden they like each other again and will boot
together; may have been due to them being clocked wrong as I forgot to enable X.M.P in the BIOS. Anyway, on to today's issue. I have my SSD for ~2months now, I grabbed Windows 8.1 straight away and installed it; all is going well and I love it. Only issue
is, after a windows update my system will occasionally go through POST ok, when it comes to the phase where the OS should load and take over, it re-boots. It would do this 2, maybe 3 times and sometimes would boot into the login screen all ok; others it would
go into start-up repair where I can click cancel and end up in my OS all fine. This in itself is strange, but then I have another problem.
When I eventually get into my OS (even when it doesn't want to keep re-booting) I will login, the OS will load me into my desktop and it will jsut hang there and do nothing; simply crash. When I move my mouse over certain icons it will highlight
them; but I can not do anything and must reset my system from my motherboard's internal reset button as the front panel buttons are un-responsive.
I re-installed win 8.1 today, after having enough and once all my drivers are installed and I reboot; the re-boot loop happens again. I load into safe mode and try to 'refresh' my PC. This works ok and I install all my drivers but one called MSI
fast boot, which seemingly allows me to use win 8's fast boot mode. Now the re-boot loops seem to be gone, but I still occasionally get the hanging at desktop; it is worth noting CTRL+ALT+DEL works; but if I press anything it simply hangs and does
nothing.
Now, if this is a software issue I am not bothered; this can be fixed. But I need to rule out any hardware. This can't be my motherboard can it? As it POST's fine? My CPU wouldn't pick and choose a time and date to work would it? If it were faulty
it would simply not work at all correct? As for RAM; I'll be running memtest tomorrow for a good 6+ hours. And now for storage; is there a possibility this is my SSD?
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Is there any logs I can look at?
Sicarius
The BSOD was related to your video driver (nVidia). There is a known problem wit the new nVidia drivers on some systems. As a workaround I would try rolling back to a driver at least 6 months old.
The event viewer logonly contains a day or two of events (suspect you cleared it).
It does give us a bit of information. Three things need looking at.
Intel, Orbiter, and driver installation failures. I would re-install Intel (or not use it), remove orbiter, and check device manager to see if any drivers need re-installation
If none of the above fix the issue we can diagnose it more by running a windows performance recorder trace
In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this
wiki
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Please run the trace when you are experiencing the problem

Blue screen after login and HD and startup disk is full -how to erase data?
Blue screen after login and Hard drive and startup disk is full -How do I get in to erase data?
this user tip might help:
Your Mac needs adequate hard drive space to operate normally. How full can a drive be before it's too full? There is no hard and fast rule that says “X” amount or “%” of free drive space is needed. A low amount of RAM requires more drive space for Virtual Memory’s swap files.
Problems from insufficient RAM and free hard disk space are discussed in this link
http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/lackofram.html
Here’s some general guidelines for minimum hard drive free space:
1. As a general rule, your available space should be 5GB as an absolute minimum as it generally requires that much free space to perform an Archive and Install of Mac OS X and still preserve some free space for VM swap files.
2. Some say that your hard drive should have at least 5% of it's capacity available for use. Still others say 10% to 15%. If you routinely process complex graphics and videos, even more space is required.
Look at these links about freeing up more space.

Adobe After Effects CS4 Crashes During Startup
Hey I have a major problem i think.. after I installed AAE CS4 I picked the trial to see how it was b4 i bought it. Once everything was installed and complete I restarted my computer but when I went to open the program it pulled the grey aae startup box. It had 4% complete and said Initializing Media Core then it just stops and minutes later crashes with not progress. It continually does it with no improvement. Anybody that can help me?
I did all of the above:
- 9.03 update
- 1. Go go Control Panel -> System-> Advance System settings
2. Click Advanced tab, Performance -> Setting
3. Click Data Execution Prevention -> Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select - > Here you click Browse and choose where your AE CS4 location is, and click Apply -> OK .
- Run as administrator
Nothing worked. I still get the crash at start-up with the message
<960> <AppDirs> <5> Required Dir=
C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support Files\Required.
and after that sorry, AE can'r continue..
Help me please, I have the 30 days trial and I desperately need to learn how this program works for a project. After that I want to buy it.
My system is 32bit Vista Windows, I installed AE CS4 (that's the last one to run on 32bit right?) and did an update to 9.03. -
Macbook Pro random restart during wake from Safe Sleep
When my Macbook Pro is waking up from Safe Sleep, sometimes it spontaneously restarts halfway through the process. The Safe Sleep progress bar gets half way, then you hear the startup chime, and then the login screen appears. Obviously, all my unsaved but supposedly 'safe' work is lost at that point.
Hello there DaveWoo,
It sounds like your computer is occasionally restarting on its own when you wake it from sleep. There can be a number of reasons for this to happen, and I recommend you use the following article to help you resolve or isolate the issue. Its pretty thorough and has a lot of information.
OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

Satellite M50 - Blank screen after login on Win 8.1
Satellite M50 running Win 8.1
After login, get blank screen mouse but nothing else.
Can run Explorer.exe manually via Task manager to get going but some apps such as Acrobat and Windows Mail don't work.
I've searched online and tried all sorts of the suggested fixes to no avail.
Any suggestions gratefully received!I don't know what is wrong there but you can try to shut down Win8 completely and check repair options. Try with system restore and roll back OS few days back. Maybe this will help.

Satellite L500 - blank blue screen after login to Win 7
Hi
I have this laptop and i can start up the laptop and it loads fine to the login page i then can login but when the screens opens after login it appears as a blank blue screen with the document folder open i have no background picture and no startup menu nothing else except the document folder.
From there i can access my files etc and anything else internet etc everything but i dont know how to get the screen back to normal.
If i go on background display i can see the image that should be on the background and change it but nothing happens on the full screen.
I have no restore point as yet as new laptop for xmas, i do have backup discs but think its just something to do with the display.
If go into files and folders it shows me the icons on the desktop but all i see is this blank screen.
Any ideas please, if not would restore files work or full back up disc
Thanks very much for any helpHi
Check this:
Click right on the desktop and choose Personalize.
There you should check the area: Basis design and design with high contrast
Choose Windows 7 basic.
Then reboot the unit.
Usually this should help to get the Windows 7 common design and desktop settings.
But if this will not help then you could use an fast solution which would be a usage of the recovery disk of HDD recovery option.
This would format the HDD and would reinstall everything again -
How to return a html repsonse after form guide rendering in browser?
How to return a html repsonse after form guide rendering in browser indicating that server has recieved transmission and request is submitted succesfuly?
I am rendering the form guide in browser using guide invoke service and when i submit the data in browser to server through guide , it is displaying some random number in browser?
i need to display a resposne that request is submitted successfully?how could i define a variable with "html data" ?
Create a variable of type document and then a service to read the html from where ever it's located. If you put it in LiveCycle, you can use the ReadRessource service. If it's on the file system, you can use the Read Document. If it's in the database, you can use the JDBC service.
Also, one more doubt where should i use this variable in my process to get the same?
You want the response once you've submitted the data, so the html is really the result of calling the process that's processing the data. So I would create an output variable of type document on that process.
Right now it displays a random number in the browser because your submit process is long lived. When a process is long lived (asynchronous), you invoke it and then you get an identifier back. It's kind of a fire and forget. You can use that identifier to check the status of the long lived process, since long lived processes can take hours, days to complete. You don't want your browser to wait that long, hence the identifier.
However if you change the process to be short lived (synchronous), the browser will wait for the result of the process, which really means the output variables for that process. If your output variable contains html, it'll display html.
So the key is make you submit process short lived and populate the output variables appropriately.

This problem started about 10-20 days ago.
After login to the e-bank on line service of the Eurobank EFG Serbia further work is not possible because the screen became gray and an error message appear: Keyboard Navigation Disabled.
I run the laptop on Win 7 Professional - 64 bit Service Pack 1.
My default web browser is Mozilla Firefox 21.0.
Alternative is:
- Internet Explorer 10
Version: 10.0.9200.16576
Update Versions: 10.0.5 (KB2829530)
I have scanned my laptop and cleaned few fond viruses. Have uninstalled and installed again Java so now I have:
- Java 7 Update 21
- Java 7 Update 21 (64-bit)
I have uninstall and reinstall Firefox.
Result is that now I can run e-bank online in IE but not in Firefox.
Customer support service from the bank told me that the problem is related to the browser...Problem still exist - looking for a solution.
You may see how this appears on the screen at the attached picture. -
Random restarts after upgrading to mavericks and then yosemite
I have a mid 2009 15in mbp. I noticed after upgrading to mavericks that I began to have random restarts and significant hang ups to the point of me having to restart it on my own. I would run disk utility and repair permissions. The mac would run okay for maybe a day or maybe an hour, then restart or hang up. I seem to have a pretty full hard drive and I for some reason thought it may be a failing hard drive. I purchased a new hard drive and restored a time machine backup to the new 1tb drive. I also added 2, 4gb sticks of ram. Things were going swimmingly for a week or so with yosemite installed and then the problems began again. It got to the point that the computer wouldn't even start. I threw my old hard drive back in, reformatted it, and reinstalled a back up. The mac is working now, but with the same kind of random kernel panics. I have done all of the latest software updates as well. I would like to put the other drive back in for shear volume alone, but don't seem to get anywhere when I try. Thank you for your time and consideration. Any help is appreciated. Here is an etrecheck as well.

Black screen after login on Satellite L350-20Q (normal mode)
My Satellite L350-20Q run Vista basic.
After login that is normal I go to the turning arrow then to a permanent black screen when I start in normal mode.
In safe mode I have a normal behaviour and I can work. Spybot report no malware present. But my Avast antivirus does not seems to work in safe mode.
Do you have any idea of this problem ?
A fellow has advised me to update my graphic drivers which is presently Intel Corporation 12/06/2008 version 7.15.10.I502 for Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family. What is the URL and the filename to download the most recent driver ?
Message was edited by: nigelle normal mode added in title.1) I have already done a roll back but without success
2) total reinitialisation and updates is a long and tedious process I wish to avoid if possible.
Downloading and installing a new driver is fast so I prefer to try this before even if the probability of improvement is low. Where can I find the driver for graphic ?
3) I bought this lap top in June and Win7 was released in September or October.
All manufacturers had promised a free update to Win7.
But after the release of Win7 my laptop was not in the eligible list may be only because it ran on Vista basic and they were not Win7 basic and Toshiba did not want to pay for the upgrade...
Not very honest !
I dared not to buy a Win7 license because I think that Win on a laptop is a slightly modified version. -

Mac Pro 3,1 with Mavericks occasionally locks up before and after login
Hi all,
My early 2008 Mac Pro running OS X 10.9.1 will lock up or freeze sometimes at the login screen and sometimes shortly after login. Only once or twice has it froze up after it was running more than about 15 minutes or so. When it freezes it usually happens within the first 10 minutes of login. I upgraded from 10.8, then clean installed later with the same issue. No beach ball, just a total freeze up with system fans still running but zero activity otherwise.
I have a GTX 285 for Mac installed and i got rid of nVidia's web driver when I did the clean install, same problem.
I moved my other operating systems onto separate internal disks and same problem.
Having a hard time isolating the cause, anyone else having the same issue?Froze up again, at 8:06pm so I copied Everything after "login window application started" at 8:05pm until the last entry at 8:06pm

Windows XP hard crash reboot after login
I've seen a few topics about this, but none of them with solid regression info yet so i'm starting this thread. I hope some of you out there can help out, but I fear the answer is that were all screwed.
SUMMARY:
Windows XP will hard crash (reboot) just after login after loading the UI and during the loading of network components. This then results in the system rebooting into a black screen with no standard windows debug. (which can be forced by F8) Hard shut down is required to restart boot process. This problem can also occur from a waking from sleep, and very rarely occurs at random. When its caused during normal operation its usually spawned on by pressing a button on the keyboard. It will occur randomly at startup, and will occur with Starup Disc set or Option Select. Rarely it will boot into windows XP on the first try, more often (over time) it will require 3-5 reboots to get into XP successfully. This problem isn't caused by the install of any software, instead it progressively gets worse over time. I have experienced this problem with BootCamp 1.3, 1.4 and 2.0 on my MacBook Pro 2.16, but I have never experienced it with my Mac Pro ever which has the same OS and bootcamp installed.
I'm convinced it has something to do with the network drivers and how they are loading. I've noticed that the times it fails to boot that the WiFi and Local Area network icons aren't loaded in the system tray, and the times I have success getting into XP that they are already present when the UI is loading. This same behavior occurs on my Mac Pro and other PC clones, but they dont hard crash when this occurs. On them, you just have to wait for the network to be available.
STEPS:
0) MacBook Pro 2.16 17", Mac OS X 10.5.1, Bootcamp 2.0, Windows XP Pro SP2
1) Power up
2) Hold down Option (can set bootdrive as well)
3) Select Windows
4) Select a User (with password set)
5) Enter password
RESULTS:
Hard crash reboot just after UI loads while network compoents begin to load into the system tray.
WORKAROUND:
Shoot dog
REGRESSION:
Never occures on Mac Pro
Occures with Bootcamp 1.3, 1.4 and 2.0
P.S. I'm writing this in BootcampUPDATE
I've gone into msconfig and turned off everything and have been starting up just fine, so it seams one of these items is cuasing the problem. I see that some people say its the keyboard manager, and I wouldn't doubt it now. So i'm going to leave everything off for now, make sure its always booting and then slowing rool items back on. I'll keep this up to date.
If you want to do this yourself, you can do it two ways.
Built in:
1) Click on the Start Button
2) Select Run...
3) type "msconfig" and hit OK
4) Select the "Startup" tab
5) Unselect everything you see there
6) Close and reboot!
3rd party (the way i prefer)
1) Get Spybot (the new one is awesome)
2) install Spybot
3) Run Spybot
4) Update, immulize and scan (optional, but you will be surprised)
5) Select the "Mode" menu option
6) Select "Advanced mode"
7) Select 'tools" on the lower left hand side
8) Select "System Startup"
9) uncheck all options.
10) close and reboot!
Note: this appiaction is really great, and it will also install a device to watch for reg changes which is good for this sort of regression. Again, its not nessiary to install spybot, but i love it and have it on every PC i ever use and have never regretted it. IT WONT SLOW YOUR COMPUTER LIKE OTHER CRAPPY APPS. This is a very light and clean app. -
Running FF 5.0 on Win XP Pro. Several web sites stopped displaying properly overnight without a computer shutdown or FF shutdown. One of the sites is a banking site which displayed normally until after login when it failed to display and there was a message saying best viewed with CSS turned on. I've restarted both FF and then the computer and FF to no avail. Tried both No Style and Basic Style Views with no change. Did not do a power off full computer shutdown and restart yet. Has only happened in FF 5.0. Never happened in previous versions.

Menu tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on item node at hire level
I'm using a Menu Model to Create a Page Hierarchy in my adf application on Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
it is in three levels level 1 have 2 item nods (home - Help) displayed as buttons
level 2 contains 5 item nods about the managements displayed as tabs
level 3 is about reports displayed as list
the point I have apply security in the application using Adf security wizard and i assign roles and users and grants
all works fine but level 2 tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on Home item node at run time
I create 2 users (admin) has all roles and can view all tabs in level 2 of my navigation and another user (emp) which can view one Tab page in level 2
Point 1 --the item nod are rendered according the #{securityContext.regionViewable['oracle.view.pageDefs.RentManagPageDef']} (EL ) expression language
and other item nod render property are set as the same but in the page name definition
it works fine
_ Point 2 in my page template I set #{menuInfo.rendered} for renderd property of the command navigation item
it works fine
- point 3 I add a go link in my template to explicit perform log in log out from the app and redirect the user to the required page
Destination is
#{securityContext.authenticated ? "/adfAuthentication?logout=true&end_url=/faces/wearhouse.jsf" : "/adfAuthentication?success_url=/faces/company.jsf"}
and its also works fine
the problem is in the level 2 navigation tabs which is diaper after explicit log in the app directs the user to the correct page successfully
But the tabs are not rendered till I press on home button on Level 1 navigation it appears and it appears correctly cording the logged in user validation
in another words i log in as user (admin) i get directed to the successful log in page in the link go but level 2 tabs are invisible or not rendered at all I click on Home button in level1 navigation the tabs
become rendered or viewable and i navigate normally
I log out as admin the level 2 tabs becomes invisible again
then I log in as (emp) i get directed to the successful log in page and level 2 tabs are still invisible or not rendered
I click on Home button in level1 navigation the only one tab the user emp authorized to it gets rendered (appears)
and its semi correct behavior because this is what I want him to see only
my tries to find solution
I tride to use
#{securityContext.userInRole['division']}
on the menu node item I found same behavior level 2 tabs gets hidden till i click on home link at run time
I tride to use #{securityContext.authenticated} to control item nods rending
all tabs remains visible and i dont want that ain adition if user clicks on a tab of page he has no authority on it i recive server error
I read 30.7 Creating a Login Page in the Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework to finde about redirecting user
and it is using the same as i did from adf tutorials
I tried to make new navigation app on fast
maybe i made incorrect change in any stage of my original app
but I found same behavior
I tried to set disabled property instead of rendered property the tabs are always rendered but I got server error when I click on a tab which a user does not authorized
So I doubt maybe problem in the El or the way I use to control rendering item node
or there additional step to stop all the tabs disappear after login
I hope please some one Help or tell me what i have to read about in the developer guide or interface developer guide or article on the web
I'll be gratfule
I know maybe it is small issue but help me pleaseHi,
have a look at the sample that comes with this article: Oracle ADF: Security for Everyone It uses resource remissions to authorize panel tabs.
One test to run is to print the outcome of the security evaluation (e.g. output text) to see what it returns.
