Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • Error 2503 during installation?

I have recently been getting a message to update Adobe reader. Whenever I try to install the update I keep getting a "Error 2503 called RunScript when not work in progress" message and the installation aborts. I have also tried repairing and uninstalling my installation and get the same error. Any idea how to correct this problem?

To access the hidden C:\Windows\Installer directory you may need to change the default permissions.
Use Explorer's option to see hidden files and folders (under Organize, Folder and Search options select the View tab and make sure the option Show Hidden files, folders, or drives is enabled.
To change permissions for a file or folder, perform the following steps:
In Explorer, right-click on the folder name or file name and select Properties.
    Click on the Security Tab.
In the Groups or user names box, select the group that fits. For exampleAdministrators, or Users.
    Click on the Advanced button.
Select the Group or Users who you wish to change the permissions. You may need to be an Administrator to make these changes.
    Click on Edit button.
Another almost identical screen appears with a few additional options (not shown). Click the Edit button again. Now you can actually make the changes necessary!
In the lower Permissions for SYSTEM box, change the permissions. For example, to provide full control, make sure a checkmark appears in the Allow column for Full Control and remove checkmarks in the Deny column if present.
With the permissions set correctly, click on Ok .
Within some folders (but not all) you'll get a warning message. Be sure to

  • Error 2503 when updating Acrobat

I am attempting to update my Acrobat and i encounter "Error 2503 called RunScript when not marked in progress".  I am operating in Windows 8 and do not know whether this is a function of the operating system.  I had the same problem updating Acrobat Reader.

This is apparently a Windows issue (see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_programs/error-2503 -called-runscript-when-not-marked-in/76e72d98-cbef-432f-8f6f-40417d139bc1). When doing updates you should be logged in as the adminstrator and have anti-virus disabled. It may also be an issue with AA9 on a Win 8 system, particularly if 64-bit. You may have to run AA9 in a compatibility mode. When updates fail from within Acrobat, it is time to try downloading the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and installing the updates in order (generally updates are not cummulative in Acrobat).

    Hi,
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck

    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.

I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:

Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?

Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.

  • TDMS error -2503. Is seemingly corrupted file able to be recovered?

We performed a rather expensive test with multiple instruments and gauges on a specimen and recorded the data to a TDMS file. Before we performed the test, we recorded to a "dummy" tdms file for a few minutes and then reviewed the file to confirm that we were recording all the gauges properly. Everything was fine and we knew we were ready to test.
We then recorded during the test and the TDMS file ended up being about 400 Mb. After recording we attempted to open the file and recieved the following error:
    "Error -2503
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  Specified file does not comply with TDMS file format standards."
There is no record of this error on the forums or anywhere on the website. The data is there, the file is huge. We just need to figure out how to recover it. This data is very important to us. Is there any way to analyze the tdms file and recover the data?
Any time we attempt to open the file in any way we receive the same error. We have tried opening it with the TDMS Excel Importer, Open TDMS file.vi, TDMS Defragment. No luck. The error seems to be occurring in the open tdms file.vi.
The file is very large or I would post it here. Please help
    [will work for kudos]
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I solved the problem.
I was trying to figure out which part of the tdms file was corrupt. I was preparing for a long day of altering bits/bytes to fix the corruption, which I have done in the past and is never fun, but it wasn't necessary. Using a file analyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/filealyzer/index.html) I could see that the data was there and the headers were correct throughout the data in the tdms file. There didn't appear to be any wierdness in the beginning or end of the file. This told me that the problem was probably in the index file. I had been reviewing the new advanced tdms VIs in LabView 2010 and was looking for something that could help me. The Advanced TDMS Open.vi mentioned that it deleted the index file and opened the tdms file. I thought perhaps it would recreate the index file. It didn't. The tdms index file was automatically recreated when I opened the the TDMS file and it recreated it properly. The data is there. The file opens properly this time. All is well. It definately leaves me wondering what created the corruption in the first place and how to prevent it in the future.
    Solution:
Delete the tdms index file. The TDMS Excel Importer will recreate the index file properly when you open the file. The file opened with no errors for me.

  • Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754" error

I’m using PPRO in Production Premium CS4.
I’m getting the “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” error” when I AME starts or shortly after it starts. System worked fine since I installed the CS4 upgrade 4 months ago but today a project is due and this happens.
My system: Dell Precision 690, 3Ghz Xeon processor, 4 GB ram, Internal HDs (1) 300 and (1) 400 GB, External HDs (2) 1 TB.
I’ve read and searched the forums and now I’m frustrated and in need of some help. Has anyone found definitive solution to this “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” problem?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I searched the internet with that error mssg and it seems a lot of them have to do with video card drivers. There was some information about matrox drivers and that problem on the internet...
Also some 'Axio' card driver problems related to that error message...
Have you recently updated your video card drivers ?

  • I am getting errors 2503 and 2502 when trying to install itunes on windows 8

I ma getting errors 2503 and 2502 in Windows 8 how do I resolve?

When I try to install ITunes, I get Error 2503.  The description says the it may be a bad download.  I don't think that is the problem.  I'm operating Windows 8.1 on a computer that's less than a year old.  Windows was corrupt and had to be re-installed recently. It was all handled through Microsoft.  Can you help?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I am trying to uninstall java JRE 6 update 18 from Windows Server 2008.
I have deleted the registry files, etc. Keep getting uninstall error 1723 - driver missing.
Any suggestions how to solve this??

    Finally got it.
Download Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package from here.
Install it, run it and use it to remove your Java installation.
I was able to reinstall the jdk just fine after that.

  • WSUS service failure and uninstall error 0x80070643

    Hello
I recently had a drive fail in a RAID 1 array on a Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 domain controller. The drive was replaced and the array successfully rebuilt the drive. Our domain comprises a Win2k8 DC (which WSUS is installed on), a W2k3 DC, a W2k8 Storage
Server and various W2k, Win XP, Vista and W7 clients.
WSUS3 SP2 is installed on this computer and had been working fine. After the drive was rebuilt WSUS stopped working. WSUS is organised as follows:
The drive is divided into 3 partitions. C: contains the program files, D: contains the WSUS database and update files. E: is a system recovery partition.
After the drive was rebuilt I had a problem connecting to the WSUS console. I am logged on using the domain administrator account. I restarted the server last night in the hope that it would solve this issue. After restarting, the problem persists. When
I start Windows Server Update Services from Administrative Tools the centre pane shows a large red X and 'Error: Connection Error'. The option to 'Reset Server Node' results in the same error. The error, available from 'Copy Error to Clipboard' is:
The WSUS administration console was unable to connect to the WSUS Server via the remote API.
Verify that the Update Services service, IIS and SQL are running on the server. If the problem persists, try restarting IIS, SQL, and the Update Services Service.
The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,
Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

IIS and SQL are running fine as far as I am aware. I also have Sophos Enterprise Console installed which uses SQL to store it's data and that is working fine.
After a bit of searching around the 'net I thought the easiest solution would be to uninstall WSUS, leave the database and update files in place and then re-install. I ran the uninstallation procedure from the Server Manager, but because the service is not
running, and even after starting the service, uninstallation fails:
Windows Server Update Services: Removal failed
Error: Attempt to un-install Windows Server Update Services failed with error code 0x80070643.  Fatal error during installation
I saw a reference to the online article located here:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sus/archive/2008/11/05/how-to-manually-remove-all-of-wsus.aspx but the article states it is out of date and I did not want to make a bad situation worse by following the instructions.
Can anyone help me with this, please. Ideally, I would like to be able to keep the updates as downloading them again will consume a substantial amount of our monthly allowance. However, if the best thing is to remove the entire installation, then I will
    ahppily go with that, too.
    Thanks.

I'm experiencing this issue, but haven't been able to resolve it with the steps in Lawrence's post (and, another thanks from me for another detailed post from Lawrence!)
It's a 2008 box which had a relatively new WSUS install that just stopped working - not sure why.  Unable to figure out why it had stopped, I tried to Remove the WSUS role, but that failed with the error above.
During the manual uninstall steps above...
    (1) Using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility only showed the Windows Internal Database, not WSUS.  I removed
    that.
    (2) Removed %ProgramFiles%\Update

Reinstall has now failed with this error:

The WID is not used for anything else, but there is other production software installed, (using SQL - not relevant, just
mentioning) and reinstalling the OS is not an option.

  • Satellite Pro C850-1M - upgrade to Win 8.1 fails - error 0xC1900101-0x30018

    Hello to all,
bought a new Sattelite Pro C850-1MX (PSCBZE 00M009GR) in december 2013. System is running almost unchanged to delivery state. Yet installed OpenOffice, Firefox and AdobeReader in most actual versions. And updated driver for AMD-GPU to latest version. No other changes done.
Now tried to upgrade to Windows 8.1 via Windows-App-Store. Download was done, upgrade run, reboot, installing changes, preparing devices --> reboot, rollback to 8.0 with error code 0xC1900101-0x30018.
Searched internet for solutions: Toshiba sais
    - update all Toshiba-components via TOSHIBA Service Station --> done
    - (Link: [http://www.toshiba.de/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]): deinstall some components: esp. LAN/WLAN-driver.
Hmmm...if I do so I cannot access Windows App-Store to rerun the upgrade because i have no network-connection. Stupid...
    - Why cant I upgrade an almost unchanged system because of some driver-uncompatibilities where i didnt change anything from delivery state???
    Please state any hint/solution. Thanks!

This error message appears because of some not compatible drivers and tools which are already preinstalled on Windows 8 system.
This issue has been reported many times here in the forum and was solved as reported by user harrie_1 at 12-Jan-2014

  • Premiere Pro (CS6) - Windows 8 - [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814] error

    Hello
Im currently having some issues with Premiero Pro (via creative suite 6) on a Windows 8 64 bit machine after reinstalling due to an error resulting in the encoding sequence crashing/hanging and remaining on 0% indefinitly
Video and audio were both taken via the same machine and are both in .MP4 format. The project will render correctly however will not export
Upon selection of export with match sequence settings enabled I receive the error box saying:
    Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814]
Upon closing the error the screen returns back to the work space. with an error box saying:Error compiling movie - unknown error. After this it again shows the infinite encoding screen.
I have tried uninstalling the programme and running any updates etc however I am unable to get it to work.
Would really appreciate an answer to this.Uninstalling and reinstalling is in itself a pain.
    Many thanks

I can't give direct help with that error, but some reading that MAY help... These notes are (mostly) for Encore, but some ideas that may help
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems...

  • Win 7 cannot uninstall or reinstall CS4

Tried to reinstall CS4 shortly after original install. When it finished uninstalling, it came up with an error message saying that the program didnt uninstall properly and tells me to "read below for details". There is no information given "below", it just stops there.  Upon trying the uninstall again after that, the uninstall bar just never moves and the uninstall progress window doesn't go away.  Ive tried downloading the CS4 clean up script to properly uninstall and that failed to work also.  When I try running the CS4InstallerDatabaseUtility, like instructed, it tells me that I need to install it first. To my knowledge that IS the install file according to the readme file and the online instructions and as there are no other files that can run in the .zip that I downloaded.  If I try to install it it goes through the entire process, then when its complete it tells me that it wasnt installed properly. I feel stuck as I cannot get rid of it, fix it, or reinstall it.   Brand new and it did work fine before I tried to uninstall it.  If I try running photoshop or illustrator it says its missing components.
Running Win 7 with a student edition or CS4

I bet Revo Uninstaller Pro will do the job for you.  It is a powerful replacement for Add/Remove Programs, with excellent reviews.  Here's a quote from the User Guide:  "Even if you have a broken installation, Revo Uninstaller Pro scans for an application's data on your hard disk drives and in the Windows registry and shows all found files, folders and registry keys so you can delete them."  I was immediately able to use it to completely remove two programs I've been wanting to get rid of for some time.
If there is a usable uninstaller on your system, this program will find it, run it, show you any left-over files and registry keys, and offer to delete any or all of them.  Otherwise, it can do a forced uninstall one CS4 app at a time.  By default, it creates a system restore point and a complete registry backup before attempting any uninstall.  After it finishes, you should be ready to try your CS4 installation again.
If you can manage the $39.95 on a student budget, the program is well worth it, because you'll use it for a lot more than cleaning up after a botched CS4 installation.
