Win 9841 R61 Ultranav tab/tapping issue

Recently i installed MS new tech preview/upgrade over 8.1. Note my ultranav tab was missing after install and all effort to get mouse tab back was futile. Pad sensitivity issue was crazy and ultranav tab was missing so no correction. Remedy: i reinstalled MS 8.1 x64 Pro and now all is well. Just letting you know.

welcome to the forums.
have you tried uninstalling all mouse/trackpoint/touchpad related drivers and let Win7 install its own generic drivers ? If not, do so and see if the left button for both the trackpoint and trackpad works.
if it still doesn't work, get in contact with our support team via

if it does work, head over to http://support.lenovo.com and download the trackpoint/trackpad drivers. set your unit to diagnostic mode via msconfig and then install.
check again and see if the buttons works.

DVCPRO capture issues - FCP or tape issue ?

Can anyone help me rule out whether this is a tape issue or a problem with my system ?
Trying to capture from DVC PRO tapes - problem is I don't know if they are DVC PRO 25 , DVC PRO 50, or HD
(we inherited these tapes from another company, who shot them but is not being forthcoming about how they shot...)
I have a Panasonic AJ-SD93 deck hooked up to Final Cut 5.1.4 via 6pin firewire (G5)
I start playing tape with regular DV NTSC settings in Log & Capture, timecode seems to be rolling continuously, the deck display says i is DVC PRO 50 - then I hit Capture Now and I get a freeze frame, and an error message :
Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape. This could be due to a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted.
So is it the tape ?
The weird thing is I was able to capture up to about 10 min of the first tape.
Even when playing back, something changes on the tape at about 10 min - but what ? Timecode is continuous - what coudl change and make it uncapturable ?.

Did you choose the proper Easy Setup? You need to choose the Easy Setup that matches the footage, so FCP knows what sort of signal to expect. If you try capturing DVCPRO 50 as DV/NTSC, then you would get this error.

Can't get Ultranav Tab to show up in Control Panel

Hi,
on my T61 (7663-13G) with Windows 7 64-bit, I don't seem able to get the Ultranav tab to show up under "Mouse" in the Control Panel and thus am unable to edit the touchpad settings. My goal is to enable scrolling with my touchpad.
I tried reinstalling the newest Ultranav drivers for my OS ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-66898 ) as well as the Utility a couple of times, in vain. The problem persists.
I've tried a few tips I found on related articles in Google, but nothing helped.
When reinstalling, I use the x64 driver since my system is 64-bit.
If you know about this problem and how to solve it (under a system similar to mine), I'd be glad to hear about it.

It's possible that the IntelliPoint driver did not properly uninstall itself. Before I went down that road, I would try this:
1) Uninstall both the UltraNav Driver and UltraNav Utility.
2) In the driver tab of the mouse properties in device manager, look to see if the roll back driver option is available.
3) If it is, do not roll back the driver but instead uninstall it and check the box to delete the driver software.
4) Repeat the process until the roll back driver option is not available, at which point you should be back to the generic driver that Windows 7 originally installed.
5) Install the UltraNav Driver from the top directory rather than the .\WinWDF\x64 directory (my best guess based on your original post). You could be missing part of Lenovo's customization process by using the subdirectory.
6) If everything is working as it should, install the UltraNav Utility for easier access to the UltraNav functions.

SP 2010 in win 8.1 - Managed Metadata service issue

I recently installed SP 2010 in my WIN 8.1. Installation was successful and I am able to create and modify sites etc. I am able to deploy solutions via VS2010 as well. all are working fine.
issue 1:
BUT in Central Admin - when I go to Managed Metadata service - I get"The server Method 'Check Permission' failed".
in the ULS log I see

I just do a clean install of Win 8.1 with iso. Install all driver Win 7 or Win 8 when no driver for win8.1 is available on lenovo or intel website. No error on devices management. try to shudown computer, the screen came black but i can here the fan and red light stay on... wait a moment, seems my notebook can't shudown correctly. Googling on this issue give to disable "fast shutdown" in power management. Try to shutdown now ok no problem. but the suspend mode give the same issue as a fast shutdown, notebook came black but red light stay up and i have to force the shutdown by pressing the button power for several second.

Spry Tabbed Panels: Issue in Safar 4

I am having an issue with Spry Tabbed Panels that only seems to happen in Safari 4. I am using Spry Tabbed Panels 1.4 through Dreamweaver CS3. The tab panel still works great. Now, though, when you select a tab, it put a blue link border around the tab itself. When you load the page the tabs are fine. It only occurs when you select a tab and only on the selected tab. I looked around for any other sites that were using tabbed panels and it happens on those sites as well.
I am including a site I found that has a perfect example:

I have looked into any way to stop this from happening. Has anyone seen this and come up with a solution?

I think your are referring to the css attribute: outline:none;
Added outline:none; to the css rule and it should be gone.

JQuery UI tabs rendering issue in Internet Explorer

jQuery UI tabs do not render rounded in Internet Explorer. Is there anyway I can fix that issue? Does anyone know how to apply custom image for jQuery UI tabs?

Sapscript - Paragraph Format - Tab space Issue

Hello Experts,
I'm facing issue with the Tab Space Alignment in the Paragraph Format.
I'm giving these values for a Paragraph Format Tabs:
Tab Position:
1: 0,10 CH
2 :3,50CH
3: 6,50CH
12: 76,00CH
Inspite of reducing the TAB position for 5th Tab; it is still aligning a bit far.
And whenever the Description (Field 3) is longer; all the Values are pushing towards right.
Alignment is not getting adjusted. How can I make this as Fixed?

For Standard Text, Paragraph format will be applicable from Standard Styles which will be creating in Transaction code SE72 and apply that Paragraph Format to Text in Standard Text transaction code SO10 then the Paragraph format will be applicable. And transport the Created Style in SE72 to Quality and Production Systems.
Apply the Created Paragraph format created in SE72 to text by below steps:
So10>Provide text>Click on CHANGE>Click on MENU FORMAT>Change Style->Double click on STYLE created in SE72-->Apply the newly created Paragraph Format to text in So10

UI Problem: Tab render Issues on page navigation

Hi All,
I am with a ADF application using jDev11g where i have some JSF pages and have navigations between those pages.
In the first page i have two tabs.
In the second tab of that page I have put the ViewObject (ViewObject is based not base on Query, ie. not on any Entity Object) attributes as input text fields.
After that i have a Search page next where i search on some conditions and from the result table I select a specific row and catch its column values. Using the row record I populate the viewObject of that first page while clicking on a button on the second page (this button calls a AppModuleImpl class method to populate the ViewObject).
Till this it works fine. But there are some UI related issues associated with it.
Query--1:
Approach 1: As i have dropped a View Object as inputText and it is not populated on on the first go it will have label field but the value field will not be rendered at all. But this doesnot meet the UI requirement. I need to have a value field (white box with no data). How to resolve this? Are there any property for that to render.
Please suggest.
Work Around: For this problem i applied a work around by dropping some extra input texts beside the VO attributes (as text field without label) in my 2nd tab of first JSF page. And while navigating to second page i made these extra i/p fields as hidden (through Disabled/Rendered property) in the backing bean.
Then i populate the ViewObject from second page and returned to the first page(default goes to first tab) and opened the 2nd tab i found all the extra nput text fields visible which i had disabled. Can you tell why it's happening?
Please suggest for these 2 approaches.

Is there any way that when i navigate back to the first page by default the second tab will open instead of the first?

an input field need an object to write to to display the input area (otherwise its read-only). So you can create your input form pointing to a managed bean initially any then, when users enter and submit data, save it manually in ADF and after this hide the bean bound fields and show the ADF fields. Or - before getting onto the page - you create a new row if the current collection is empty.
Short answer: there is no declarative way to do this

The ShowDetailItem component that is used to render tabs has a Diclosed property that you can point to a managed bean method. When you navigate back, you have the managed bean returning false for all but the second tab.

Spry Tabbed Panels issue

I'm having an issue with a footer table that is underneath my spray asset. When you open the site in Safari, this table appears off to the side of the spry content, when I'd like it to appear beneath the content..as it is a footer..This ONLY happens in Safari! It works perfectly fine in IE, Chrome, and Firefox.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that each content area of the tabbed panels is a different height, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. Can anyone help me?

You are using Spry version 1.4. At the very least you should be using Spry version 1.6 which will likely overcome your problem.
Even better is if you switch to Spry Tabbed Panels 2. Have a look here http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/ui/

Crystal Reports 10 Cross Tab Report Issue

I created a Cross Tab Report with multiple rows of data. It has two columns to return data for Year 2008 and Year 2009. When reading the database the report does not return data for rows that have a result of 0 in both columns even though Suppress Empty Rows is NOT checked in the Cross Tab Expert Customize Style Tab. Any suggestions as to how to get all of the rows to display including those with results of 0?

I'm guessing that your issue is that "results of 0" is really a lack of data, not that something is there and is summing to zero.
In that case, you need to base your report on an SQL Command. Take the SQL that the report is currently using, and UNION it with another select statement that returns all of the rows that you are looking for with zero values; something like this:
UNION
select category, 0 as PY_Value, 0 as CY_Value
from categories
This will cause the data to be there, which will cause the rows to display on the cross tab.

Dynamic Tabs Shell : issue with taskflows using pages

We use the Dynamic tabs shell page template in our application.
It works fine when used with taskflows with page fragments.
However it errors when trying to render a taskflow with pages instead of fragments as:

Is this a known issue or constaint with Dynamic Tabs Shell page template?

Actually I don't think the answer is as clear cut as the dynamic tab shell template (aka. UI Shell) doesn't support task flow with pages, as, we have an application that uses it that calls out to a BTF using pages and it works fine. The catch is that BTF itself doesn't use the UI Shell. So it really depends what you mean.
Can you be more specific what you're attempting to achieve? Are you trying in one page that uses the UI Shell, to embed a BTF in a region where the BTF uses pages rather than page fragments? Or, do you simple want lots of pages in your overall applications unbounded task flow to include the UI Shell template? As Alex has asked, we don't really have information of what you're trying to put in what at this stage.

Anyone using Windows 7 RC on an R61 ? (Random freezing issues)

My R61 will randomly freeze for 2-3 minutes during which time it becomes unusable as I cannot move the cursor. All programs stop responding for 2-3 minutes and suddenly the computer will snap out of it and become usable again. This will happen probalby twice an hour when I'm using the laptop.
I've installed both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the Windows 7 RC and the freezing problem occurs on each. This R61 has been running Windows XP flawlessly for 2 years now otherwise.
The 64 bit version of Windows 7 RC runs flawlessly on my desktop computer with many of the same programs installed so I'm guessing it's a driver incompatability with the my R61 that is causing the issue, I just can't narrow it down.

BAM tabs visibility issue

Active Studio Tabs display incorrectly with IE8

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, and Oracle BAM Active Studio, or any of the Oracle BAM Web Applications, does not open properly (for example, some of the main user interface tabs do not appear), refresh your web browser or reload Oracle BAM Active Studio.
If that workaround does not resolve the issue, close Oracle BAM Active Studio, and clear your Internet Explorer browser cache (go to Tools > Internet Options > Browser history > Delete [>??see above question]), then reopen Oracle BAM Active Studio.
If the above workarounds do not resolve the issue, follow these steps to add the Oracle BAM web server to Microsoft Internet Explorer's Trusted sites:
1. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted sites and click Sites.
2. Uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone if necessary (it is necessary unless you have Oracle BAM set up for SSL).
3. Add the Oracle BAM URL to the list:

Some versions of the Sun JDK cause the Active Studio View Editor Tabs to display incorrectly. The View Editor tabs may appear empty without any Tab text. This issue can occur with any version of Oracle BAM.
To resolve this issue, the Oracle BAM Server requires the Sun JDK patch that fixes JDK bug 6940416. Generally, Sun JDK version 1.6.0_24 or later will resolve the issue.

An interaction between McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 7 and Microsoft Internet Explorer update KB2416400 causes Charts and KPIs to display incorrectly.
If you are using McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention and this issue occurs, you can resolve it using one of the following workarounds:
1. Uninstall the Microsoft Internet Explorer KB2416400 update.
or
2. Disable Signature 3776 for McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention. Ask your IT Administrator if applicable.
