WIN CE5.0 + ME 2.1 sp03 + MAM2.5 = PROBLEM

Hello,
We've been using MAM 2.5 with Windows Mobile 2003SE for six months without any problems
Now we've bought several brand new PDAs with Windows Mobile 2005 and faced some issues:
1. The version of Creme JVM did not work on the new version of Windows Mobile.(After consulting with nsi's support team we've downloaded and installed CrEme326_ARM_CE50_PPC.CAB which fixed this issue)
2. After deploying MAM2.5 and all the nescessary upgrades on ME 2.1, MAM2.5 failes to star:
NOT Found (404)
original request: /MAM25/start
Nor found request: /MAM25/start

Hi All,
I am also getting the error below. I get it on a Windows Mobile 2003 SE device. It was working, but when I gave the PDA a softreset the error occurs. Does anyone know anything how to resolve this issue?
Some people refers to an xml file in the windows\its\nt folder or something, but this folder is not located on my device, and I don't know where I can download this XML file.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Hello, i just migrated from windows xp 32 bit because my hd crashed, and installed a new 1 tb hd, with win 7 64 bit, i installed my sb audigy 2 zs sound card, and everything works great, videos, music etc, i have my 5.1 working fine, but if i use flightsim fs2004, the only game i use, the sound doesnt work, it does strange thinks like sound inside the cockpit but no outside and viceversa in some planes, ..it only works fine in my 2 channel default old sound card, i downloaded the drivers that in creative page say are for win 7, but the same happened...
any help?

Try to use Windows XP SP2/3 compatibility mode first, see if it works for you. And use Alchemy for the Audigy 2 ZS, FS2004 is making use of Directsound after all. Read the guide for using Alchemy here and here. Download Creative Alchemy here.

PS4 and 64 bit Win 7 on a laptop... What problems am I in for?

I'm a noobie to laptops, and I can't live without my Wacom tablet and pen. I'd appreciate knowing how detail drawings are done by PS 4 or other users with this OS and what problems 64 bit will create with this software.
Some laptop questions too: I noticed a response somewhere to use 32 bit in Win 7, and I didn't know you had a choice. True?
Are there some laptops that have both battery and wall plug availability?
Can I still use my tablet and pen via a usb port?
I'm very worried about this software update and I'd appreciate knowing what problems changing from a good PC to a laptop I'll have to deal with. Thanks so much..MM

Photoshop installs both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. On Vista, and I assume Win7, the 64-bit is intalled in the "Program Files" directory, and the 32-bit in the "Program Files (x86)" directory. The two versions look indentical in use, but many legacy plug-ins will not work in the 64-bit version. Be sure to set your desktop shortcuts and file associations to the one you use most often.
Laptops have various battery run time capacities. I used to have a Toshiba that had a big, beautiful 17" screen, but it was large, heavy, ran very warm, and gave me less than one hour on a charge. I replaced it with anAcer Timeline model that gives me over seven hours per charge. It is very lightweight and portable, but the downside is that the thin 13" screen has an extremely narrow angle of view. It does have video and HDMI out, though, so I can use a regular monitor or HDTV, so it's not that big a deal. I really like that I can carry it in a bag without dislocating my shoulder .
I'm using a Wacom Intuous with it with no issues.

Win+FB4.5.1+AIR sdk2.7 ios packaging problem

So, I'm using this combination: Win Vista, Flash Builder 4.5.1, Flex 4.5.1, AIR sdk 2.7
When I try to package ios application I can't get it done, cause after prompting for certificate password progress stops on 57% forever (both standard and fast packaging methods). Flash Builder desn't hang though

I had what I thought was a valid .p12 file from my Mac as well, and it caused Flex 4.5 (4.5.1 SDK) to hang on 57%.
I followed the instructions under the heading "Convert an Apple developer certificate to a P12 file on Windows", on the following page:

Inserting the non-working .p12 file from my Mac into where it says: "mykey.p12" and then using the new .p12 file created in part 3 worked and Flex 4.5 was able to package for iOS.

As a long time Windows 10 tester, I have found by and large that the Windows 8.1 drivers will work, albeit sometimes in a limited fashion. So if you're running the Intel 4600 Graphics chip, use the Windows 8.1 drivers, they will work.

I'm trying to use 10 in win 8 on a Acer 500 tablet and it doesn't seem to work with touch. It's like it's too sensitive and can't ever manage to hit the items intended. IE 9 and 10 seem to work just fine.

Firefox 10, win 8 consumer preview. Acer-500 Tablet.
Firefox apparently isn't optimized for touch or if there are adjustments or options I haven't been able to find them. This problem was also apparent in the Development preview on Win 8. I gave up trying to use Firefox and went with IE 9/10 which both worked fine using touch. I thought since installing win 8 consumer something might have changed but the problem still persists. I've tried a stylus to see if it was just my fat fingers but to no avail. Any ideas?

I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt.

Problem with Wine, NVidia and fullscreen games

I'm writing about a problem i recently noticed with wine, nvidia gpu and fullscreen 2d games.Basically the problem is as follows - i am running arch with the latest kernel and nvidia drivers on Thinkpad T61 with NVidia Quadro NVS 140M. I have a problem with old 2d games like Red Alert 2, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Diablo 2, Heroes 3. All of these games do not support the native 1440x900 resolution of my screen and all of them work fine in window mode but crash if fullscreen is selected. I managed to get some of them working by making them work at higher resolutions. For example although Red Alert 2 does not support 1440x900, it can be easily made to work at that resolution and after i applied the necessary settings it worked. The same was with Heroes 3 - by default it does not support 1440x900 and it used to work only i window mode but there is a HD mod which allows it to run in higher resolutions and after i applied it it worked perfectly in fullscreen. I haven't thested Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale but i think it will work there too.
The problem is that i cannot use this approach to all games - for example i must run Diablo 2 and Starcraft in their original resolutions. I read somewhere that the problem is that wine can only change between the resolutions described in the xorg.conf file and if doesn't find the necessary resolution the game will crash or will only take the portion of the screen that is its resolution - for example when i play Starcraft rather than stretching it to the whole screen it simply takes 640x480 pixels of my screen and the game is displayed in the top left corner of the screen leaving everything else black.
I didn't have this problem before - it is something new though i'm not sure since when do i have the problem because i rarely play games. As for the idea that the problem may be related to the resolutions defined in the Xorg.conf file, my xorg.conf is automatically generated by the nvidia installer and there are no resolutions defined there.

When i try to open the itunes store in itunes,windows closes it after not finding a solution for the problem.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Itunes software. I am running Win 7-with IE10-any help?

When I selected the Itunes store on my win PC today-the program was closed by windows with windows saying there was a problem. I tried a couple of times and then uninstalled the itunes software and reinstalled it with the same results. The program has always worked before but I have not used it recently since the Ipad now receives it's software updates right off the router. I am running Win 7 with IE10. Anyone with the same problem?

My post has been viewed 24 times, and yet have had no answers. I have always like adobe products, however if this is the type of support they offer, I will never purchase another product of theirs. The issue I am having is the same issue many others have had, and yet no answer. Poor customer service!

T60p with Win 7 32: blue screen

I installed Win 7 32 bit on a T60p.
The problem is that randomly I get a blue screen, and I'm not able to read the cause of the crash (too fast).
I downloaded and installed all the Win 7 drivers available on the Lenovo site; I downloades and installed the Windows updates.
The question is: how can I discover where is the problem? Is there a place where I can find the drivers up to date for T60p in Win 7 32 bit?

Hi Occam,
If you want to stop it from flashing away and find the complete error code then do this. Click on Start, then right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced, under Start up and Recovery click the Settings. Thereafter, under system failure uncheck 'Automatic System Restart'.

Win 8 Preview x64 on my T61

Took the plunge and made a clean install of Win 8 Preview x64 on my T61. I did a full backup of Win 7 just in case I wanted to come back.
My observations:
Installation was without a hitch and fast. Lots of personal information requests, e-mail address, password, full name, country, state, zip code.
Metro desktop is pretty but really designed for a tablet or PC with touch screen. Navigating Metro with a the mouse or touchpad was cumbersome to say the least. To go beyond the Metro icons it takes many more clicks than in Win 7.
The standard desktop and Windows Explorer are still available but without the Start button everything takes additional clicks. Additional menus are available by hitting the screen edges and corners but are not intuitive, to me at least.
All my devices were recognized from the getgo but Windows installed a generic driver for my Nvidia discrete video. I was able to install the official Nvidia drivers without issues.
I wanted to install some Lenovo software and started with TVT Power Manager for Win 7. Not good, the software loaded some old MS Visual C++ distributions and .NET Framework which concerned me. Thinkvantage Power Manager seems to work fine except I noticed that the Metro Internet Explorer 10 was broken after that. IE 10 from the classic desktop continued to work, go figure. By the way, I did not notice anything different between IE 9 and 10. Maybe it is all behind the curtains.
Next I tried the TVT Fingerprint Reader software. Total fail, it installed but does not run. I then gave up experimenting.
Played with Win 8 a little more and then decided that it was time to go back to win 7!
Ran the R&R backup from my usb drive and I am now back to my old and great Win 7 installation!

Turned out it was a problem with PRAM. I reset the PRAM (holding Command + Option + P + R) after "Windows could not update the boot configuration". And ran the install disc once more and it worked!

Speakers on monitor do not work with Win 8.1

Yesterday I upgraded from Win X - SP 3 (discontinued by Microsoft) to Win 8.1. I spent the entire day with a Microsoft technition on-line to figure out how all this works. One thing he could not get to work was the speakers on my monitor (HP vs 19c). He took over control of my computer to work out the various issues. I know he went to Realtec to try to find a driver for the speakers but without luck. The speakers worked before, why don't they work with Win 8.1. The monitor works fine. Unfortunately without sound I cannot go through the tutorials to learn more about how to use Win 8.1.

Thank you so very much. I installed the driver for Win 8.1 but that apparently was not the problem. Please forgive me for being so dense. On control panel I kept seeing the problem as not having the speakers plugged in. The other day I unplugged to wire going to the computer and re-plugged it, but that did not work. This morning I unplugged the speaker wire from both ends - the computer as well as the monitor and replugged it. Surprise, I now have audio!!
What a relief as now I can go through the tutorials and learn how Win 8.1 works though I have already learned a lot by hit or miss.

Why wont my .vst plugins work in cs6 on win 7 pro 64 bit

why wont my .vst plugins work on my new os ,win 7 pro 64 bit, i have cs6 and cc installed, they worked fine when it was on xp pro.. even if it finds them and you can bring them up it crashes cs6, any advice is helpful, thanks!!

It's not the OS - W764Pro can run 32-bit software fine in emulation. Your problem is that there is no 32-bit version of CC. It was widely circulated before release that this was going to be 64-bit only, and that you would need bridging software to run old 32-bit VST plugins.
Apparently, jbridge works fine once you've got it installed and everything in the correct place. I wouldn't know though, because I don't use it - I only use a small number of 64-bit plugins directly. On those few occasions that I want to use a 32-bit plugin, I run it in CS6 Audition (which isn't the CC version, but is 32-bit). So yes, if you have the 32-bit program you can run them in that. Both versions of the software will co-exist quite happily on the same machine, and won't interact at all - except that you have to be careful with your sound device settings.

Dual Boot Win 7 & win 10 Problems?

I am dual booting this, (Win 10 on my 2TB HDD and Win 7 on my SSD.) and now when i try to boot back to Win 7 my mouse switches off. The thing works fine in 10, and had been workign for years on 7... Anyone else seen a problem like this?
I have tried reinstalling the mouse drivers and it isnt helping on Win 7. Unplugging and pluggung in, the mouse lights up for a split second, but then dies again. switch back to Win 10 and it works as usual. No problem at all...

Are you using USB mouse?
If so, how about another USB port?
If this is a USB mouse, I suggest you uninstall the USB controller in Windows 7 system and restart to check if you can get it work.
1.Open Device Manager.
2.Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
3.Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
4.Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.

Reader 9.3 PDF Files are flagged as "unknown file type" in Win XP

Installed Reader 9.3 replacing version 5.1 on my Win XP with SP 2. I have the Microsoft automatic update feature set "on" so I assume that overall my WIN XP is up to date. Having a problem downloading PDF files from trusted Internet sites. No longer getting seamless presentation of the data in the file. Instead, I get pop up security warnings which I have to click and then when I try to download the PDF it tells me that the file type is "unknown". Is this a v 9.3 problem or a WIX XP problem or both? Is there a solution?
