Win Phone 8 - Company Portal Custom App Update
We've got an in house app deployed to a few windows 8 phones via an intune trial and we wish to roll out a app update.
All we require is similar/same functionality the normal windows phone 8 app store has,
On the surface it doesn't appear as though we can! The only apparent option is to publish the updated app, Tell the user to manually uninstall the old ver, get them to login in to the Company Portal, then manually install the new version!
Can anyone shed any light on weather it's possible to force the update to be installed or worst case, notify the user a'la normal windows phone app store & then a one button update?

I am in the process of enrolling an iOS device and I have installed the Intune Company Portal App. When I attempt to sign in, it starts to redirect me "We are taking you to your company sin-in page" then the app says "Connection Issue,
an unexpected connection issue occurred.
However if I attempt to enroll via the web site, "manage.microsoft.com" I am redirected to our companies sing-signon portal which is expected. When I login there it attempt to connect what I think is "manage.microsoft.com" but the
page never loads.
Earlier I was able to get to our Companies Portal but there was no option to "Install a Profile" onto the device.
The Intune Service Dashboard is reporting issues so I am wondering if this is part of the cause. However when I was able to connect I still did not have any options to install a profile onto the device.
We are utilizing Intune with Configuration Manager 2012 R2.
Thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response. I am able to bring up my company portal page now via the iOS browser which looks like the area to install the managed profile, however their is no option on the screen to "Install".
When I look at my Intune admin portal, the Enterprise Mobility Suite selection boxes are greyed out and it does not appear from the console I have any options to enable this for my user account. I am thinking this is the reason
I am not getting any options to install the manage profiles. We are integrated with SCCM 2012R2, and I have configured the Intune subscription inside of SCCM and have added the site system roles to the server as well.
I think part of the issue is we recently enrolled in the Enterprise Mobility Suite and we had a trial of Intune which has expired. I do have the option in the portal to enable "Microsoft Intune" for my account
but that service is expired and should have been replaced with the Enterprise Mobility Suite but those options are currently greyed out.
I don't know if this is going to prompt a call to MS Support to see what is going on with our account.

I have an I Phone 4 OS is 7.1.2. The phone indicates I need to update some apps. I go to the update screen select either all or an individual app. I select the update box. I am then asked to enter my PW. I do so and select OK. The update circle spins for a while the goes back to saying update. If I repeat the process the same thing happens. I know my PW is correct any ideas?
I have the same problem. I have a store ID my family all used to buy things. I have a different icloud id for me and icloud backups. Store account is setup properly, and I can download new apps. It does not ask for a password for these as the phone is signed into the store account. You can delete an app and reinstall it (using same store account) and it will reinstall no problem.
The only problem I found with this is some apps I'd previously download for free are no longer free. Once upon a time my store list would show me an icon that an app had been downloaded before (think its the cloud symbol). Now there is no indication of this.
Also seems like something is wrong with the store account. When I tried logging in to type this reply with message with my store ID it immediately gave me an error message and told me the link was possibly outdated. But logging in with my icloud ID this message will load. Try again on store ID, error message. Even though we can log into our store accounts via https://appleid.apple.com/ and manage the account...something seems broken with how its attached to our App store. (I'm at work so not able to log into itunes with store ID and see what happens) -

If you changed your Apple ID (which is an email address), then you should be able to sign out of your iTunes Store account and sign back in with the updated information. Take a look at the resources below:

Does Intune Company Portal in mobile devices notify app updates?
And if we retire the devices from company portal, the apps we just previously installed from the company portal app will be uninstalled automatically?I believe, it won't show any notification, you need to open company portal and search for the new apps which you have published.
Yes,All the Apps which you have installed from the company portal will be uninstalled and the device will set to default settings.

Assigned Apps not appearing in Company Portal on iOS

Before I log this with Intune support, has anyone had the issue where assigned apps are NOT showing up in the Company Portal on iOS devices? Version 2.0.3 of the portal, iOS 8.1.3.
Re-sync makes no difference.
If I change them to required install, I get prompted to install and it works - this is not my preferred scenario as I want user choice to install.

IanHi - i'm referring too applications published through the InTune Software Publisher that are made available using 'Available Install'. These are Store apps for MS Office.
So under Manage Deployment , I select All Users as the deployment target, and make the app 'Available Install' not 'Required Install'
Where is this made available, I cant see the apps in the Company Portal available apps.

Update Failed, CC App Updates, win 8.1
Programs are installing ok, but when there is an update I get the error shown in my screenshot. I have read other posts but all I saw was Mac support. I am on WIN 8.1

It downloaded, asked me to close my running instance of CC, which I did. Finished the process and then said something along the lines of 'application failed to install Error: 1'
Then I tried not heeding the NOTE, and I downloaded application manager 8. It downloaded fine, then I ran it and it said "updating Adobe Application Manager", it finished the prompt and I restarted my computer.
But alas, my app updates still get stuck on "waiting"
I'm in the middle of a big video project and I really can't afford to uninstall, redownload and reinstall all my apps. Luckily for now they all work, I'm just concerned about receiving updates in the future. -

Has anyone else not received notification of updates? I haven't received one store notification for an app update in a week, including all the recently updated Nokia system apps.

Note we suspect one of the updates is causing the remove from charger sound and also possible causing the phone to freeze for some users as well. So user beware. -

My daughter apple id pops up on my cell phone when I go to update my apps. As well I get this message that I am logged into the United States app store yet I am in Canada and my region is Canada in settings? We share the same pc and so I am wondering how to avoid this problem and how I could change it back to my id and my region for the app store.
you downloaded apps using her Apple ID which is set the the US Store.
You need to delete all those apps from your phone and download them with your Apple ID -
we updated both of our iphone 4 on the same computer and we have always shared the same itunes account which is convenient when one purchases an app the other person can simply download app without purchasing again!!! but we do not want all same contacts and app on both phones!!! after updating and setting up icloud we both had same contacts so i went in contacts on my phone and began deleting his numerous contacts on my phone well not knowing that it was deleting on his phone also!!! oops he tried restoring from backup with no luck retrieving his contacts !!! also another issue i have noticed is the manual says that in order for it to sync ur phone must b plugged into a power source well and i have noticed it saying syncing w my phone when it was not plugged anything wall nor computer and it looks as tho in the summary at the bottom where it displays capacity and free space that it is gonna take everything off of my phone but nothing changes on my phone!?! do we just need to get him a separate itunes account to be able to get full benefits from update?!
Here's how to do it.
1. App Store, iTunes Store should have the same AppleID on Computer and iPhones. (Free to share apps, music and books... )
2. Person A uses the same purchasing account for everything (ie. email, contacts and ...).
3. Person B have the same purchase account see no. 1 (for App Store and iTunes Store) but create a second AppleID for iCal, e-mail, contacts and etc. -
I have the iPhone 5s. I synced it with my Mac and got all the old apps from my old phone. I was not able to update any of the apps on the old phone and they will not update on the new iPhone 5s either! What can I do?

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?

My youtube app is no longer working on my iphone 3. Others, with the same phone, are not having the problem. It works occassionally, but it's unpredictable. I've updated phone software, deleted the app, re-downloaded the app, turned the phone off and on...nothing.
You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.
