Win XP and iTunes
I have a 5th generation ipod but i've been facing the problem while putting video songs into my ipod! I mean audio songs can be uploaded but when i drag any video song into iTunes library, there appears an error that " iTunes has encountered problems and will be shut down" and there are two options at the bottom " send" or "don't send".
The error is something like mentioned above. One thing more, whenever i reinstall win xp, the problem gets solved just temporarily, but there appears the error again.

make sure the video is not corupt.
also please check that it is correct format as expected by ipod e.g. mp4. ipod does not like mpeg.

2 4s one connects to win 8 and Itunes one doesn't. Settings all look the same on both phones.
I have 2 IPHONE 4s 7.0.4 both and Itunes 11.1.3.8. When I connect one it is recognized by iTunes and Windows explorer (Win 8). When I connect the other I get all kids of errors. IE Iphone detected but unable to identify along with 00064 and 00084 errors. I've tried all of the suggested fixes but they all seem to focus on the Itunes installation or application. Since I have 2 phone one connects and one doesn't this seems to point to the phone. I dont see any differences in how the phones are configured.
Any Ideas?I should add last night I was able to see the phone in Itunes and Windows explorere and even naviagate to the pictures in Win Explorere but I could not open any of the pictures. Errors like unreadable and Don't recobnize .mov.

My Ipad works very well by itself but it's not recognized by Win 7 neither Itunes of my PC and my PC's wife.
The Ipad of my wife is well recognized on my PC which means my PC is OK.
I restored everything of my IPAD but when I connected it to Itunes of my PC nothing happened.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Using Win 7 and latest download of iTunes, the software will not recognize my music CDs when inserted in my DVD drive. I put a CD in the drive and nothing happens. iTunes does not have a "start" button, or some menu option to tell it to begin copying music to the library, so it just sits there. When I first installed iTunes, it would open the CDs, but I would get an error message after the first track started to transfer. Now, after a coupel uninstalls, disc cleanup, etc., nothing happens when I insert the CD. I am lost here and about to sell my new Ipod Classic because it is useless to me. Maybe I'm just too old to own something like this? Any (serious) suggestions would be appreciated.
In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer. If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first. -
I ran iTunes update 11.1.4.62x64 on a PC Win 7 and got "apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" and got kicked out of the install process? I deleted iTunes, ran download to reinstall, and now I can't reinstall - same error message. I am logged onto the PC as Administrator. How do I downlaod and install iTunes.

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.

It has the error range of 3000's which states
Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes. -

I read a bunch of these out there..but couldn't find one that was having the same issues...so i'm going to post...
I have Win 7 RTM, iTunes and an iPhone.
When i use iTunes my scroll function won't work (works in EVERY other program but iTunes). I have to click and drag to move up or down.
Second is that when i dock my iPhone to synch it detects and charges it..but won't synch..i have to dock/undock it anywhere for 1 to 100 times for it to work. Also when i do connect it iTunes freezes anywhere from 75 to 90 seconds before working.
Anyone else have the same issues? What did you do to fix it? (or can you!?)

I formatted C and installed the OS and itunes clean...no change.
Well really it now won't synch at all..i have been trying every little for about 4 hours now and it won't synch..i have stoped/restarted every services that is associated with iTunes...it has to be a problem with iTunes... -
I've tried to download Itunes and itunes for 64-bit using mozilla firefox and internet explorer, even deleted the browsing history and closed and tried to dowload again and tried download quicktime separately, but nothing seems to work.
Try right clicking on the installer and select run as administrator.

Sitting right next to my new laptop is the old one that started out with XP on it. Has Win7 and itunes fires right up. I called my brother, he doesn't have apple products. He just bought a new laptop and did the 8.1 upgrade and guess what? Itunes still won't recognise my 4S....

Have Windows 7, 64 bit. Updated ITunes to 10.5 and now I cant open store? I can play music but when trying to open store, or anything else, I get :

While upgrading iPhone OS from 5.1 to 5.1.1 on Win 7 using iTunes 10.6.1.7, the iPhone hung. I could not get iTunes to find it and Win 7 does not see it.
When I connect the iPhone to the USB, Win 7 issues the welcome sound, but that is it. The same happens when I disconnect iPhone.
The Devise Manager has the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver correct without any problem. I updated this driver called usbaapl64.
The iPhone is still hung.

I restarted the Apple Mobile Device Service
I tried to empty and delete the temp directory in C:\users\myname\AppData\Local\ but could not
The iTunes I am using is the latest version
I updated the Apple Mobile Device Driver as stated above correctly

What else can I do to restore the previous working OS on my iPhone 4I was connecting the iPhone 4 to a USB 3.0 port. I was told by Apple Express Support (at US$29.99) not to use USB 3.0 and to use USB 2.1 instead.
If you are connecting your iPhone to the computer using a USB 3.0 port, disconnect it immediately. iPhones will lock up if you try to update while using a connection through a USB 3.0 port.
Disconnect the iPhone from the computer
Go to Device Manager and find the connected USB port. Click the mouse right button and update the driver
Shut the iPhone by pressing the sleep button and the home button concurrently for some time
Move the USB cable to a USB 2.1 port or older without the iPhone.
Restart iTunes.
Connect the iPhone
Your computer should recognize the phone and reloads the correct USB 2.1 driver (Apple Mobile Device)
Then iTunes should recognize the iPhone and starts reloading the firmware.
When that is complete it may ask if you wish to restore, naturally you say YES
iTunes will restore the iOS
Using iTunes, restore the latest backup to get your data back.
When all of the above is completed. Start enjoying your iPhone.
If the above does not work. Throw your iPhone out of the window and get a replacement Android phone.
