Win XP Installation on MS-6528 LE

Hi,
I have Dos/v pc that uses MSI MS-6528 LE mother board. It is nearly 14 months old. I never had problem before.
Few days ago, whil I was internet it shuts the system. First I thoutg it must be some virus causing this. But I couldnt power on my pc. Before shows welcome page keep shut (restart) itself.
So I took the HD and put in another computer. Mean time I took the MSI MS-6528 LE Memory and battery (CR2032) out of from mother board.
In otrher PC I manage to install another copyof WinXP and enter into HD and find my all previous documents and save them. I also save my old Firewall(Sygate Firewall Pro 2003) log file.
It seems ther wasn't any virus to causing this. So I checked my harddrive and find out that my cd-rom is gone(dead).
I took the HD and put back the original pc which has MSI MS-6528 LE mother board. Again MY HD didnt start up. I checked everything including my BIOS which was 1.2 and upgrade to 1.7. Use default setting of the Bios, as well as disable such as USB controller, also took it out the sound card, Lan card and game bord connector.
Now I format my HD with NTMS and ready to install the WinXP. Than start to copied file up to nearly %12 or something close that range. And suddenly it says
C_20261.nls is not copied. Pres Enter to retry, Esc to ignore or F3 to exit.
I try few time to Enter but nothing happens, than I use esc to ignore that file to copied to my system, than this time Ireceive another similar error. IU try to keep using Enter or escape and took me nearly an hour and could jump to copy the d.....nls
It seems somewhere I am having problem.
And suddenly I get BLUE WINDOW error as follws:
Problem seems to be caused by the following file setupdd.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONEPAGE_AREA
Stop: 0x00000050 (0xF95F4028, 0X00000000, 0XF99ECF99, 0X00000000 )
*** setupdd.sys
  Address F999E000 ......
  F99E000, DateStamp  367d8507
I contact Microsoft and they told me that I am having kind of hard ware problem and I must contact the original company that I bought my PC. So I contact the shop and they say my gurantee out of date. And they advice me to contact the mother board manufacture comany which is MSI.
So please can someone try to helpme? I already send mail nearly 4 days ago but seems nobody receive it to answer me.
I realy need help, hope someone kind enought to help to sort out my problem.

Niyazi
(Sorry for my English)

Hi,
Scandisk finshed, and found no error when it was in sony pc.
I took the HDD and place it in original pc MSI MS-6528 LE mother board system.
I disable the CPU cache L1 and L2, and restart to pc. It was to slow, and I see the WinXP screen but sudenly went black and only I was seeing mouse icon. Mose icon was movable, thats mean ok. But HDD didnt give me enough sound to see may be it was going to take bit more time to load Win XP.
So, I restart to system while Memtet-86 v3.0 was in floopy drive. Now I am testing the memory, still in stage 3. Default test has 8 stage.
But I didint understand why should I have to disable cache to start WinXP. Is this failure comes from bios or something in mother board?

Niyazi

  • Cannot recover Satellite to factory settings after Win XP installation

I was running windows recovery then I choose option "delete all data.... "something like that.
Then in the middle by mistake I turned off the system.
After I tried to started windows if was giving error "operating system missing". I manage to install WINDOWS XP so I might able to access HDD RECOVERY but nothing happened.
I tried pressing "F8" key and also "0" key when computer start at "toshiba" logo but it's still not giving me option to recover my computer back to windows vista or you can say "out of box state".
One Important things is, while installing windows XP its showed me that HDD recovery exists and only 973MB is free out of 5665MB. It means I still have all the windows and drivers on HDD. Now please help to recovery system back normal or OUT OF BOX STATE.

    > After I tried to started windows if was giving error "operating system missing". I manage to install WINDOWS XP so I might able to access HDD RECOVERY but nothing happened.
The Win XP installation has damage and deleted the boot manager and the options preinstalled by Toshiba and supported by Toshiba image.
This means that if you will not be able to recover the unit using the HDD recovery option.
You could recover the unit back to factory settings only using the Toshiba recovery disk!!! But I assume you didnt create such disk is it right?
Well, in such case you could order such disk from here:

  • Win XP installation failure on MEGA 865 PRO

    I'm fighting with my  MEGA 865pro, Celeron D 341,2x256 RAM, HDD Maxtor 200GB SATA , DVD-RW LG.
Everything went ok up to the XP installation, i.e. I installed instant-On on an empty disk (it runs and works). Then I boot a Win XP install CD, and it hangs a second after displaying the initial message: "..detecting hardware....". The HDD access led stays on. The same for XP SP1 and SP2. Any BIOS tweaking does not help.
After XX tries, I found out the SATA HDD is the bad guy, as the XP setup goes ok if I use my old ATA disk, or even if I use both the SATA and the ATA disks.
Interestingly, Win 2000 installs *without any problems* (but then InstantOn does not boot)!!!  Gentoo and Ubuntu linux work as well.
I'm trying to install the absolutely standard and ("only") recommended configuration, so what ... :(
I've seen few posts about this here and there (e.g. https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=85690.msg616103#msg616103), but no solutions so far :((((
    Thanx
    viz

Dunno if you allready did, but you need to have the latest BIOS to run Win XP SP2 on the MEGA 865 Pro. When i bought mine, Sp2 wasn't out yet and things worked fine. When i tried installing SP2, everything went fine, untill i boot. Black screen and nothing, after a while MSI released a new BIOS fixing the problem, newest BIOS i think is 1.30

You can test the memory by downloading this program,
    http://www.memtest.org/download/1.40/memtest86+-1.40.floppy.zip
Creates a bootdisk which you must boot from. (Disk cannot be read in windows)
If the PSU cannot provide enough power then running the memory at a lower frequency can help, as 333Mhz uses less power than 400Mhz.
Test the memory at 333Mhz and see if you get any errors, maybe ask a friend to run the memory at 400Mhz with memtest.
If it does run at 400Mhz (200Mhz) without any errors then it is not faulty.
From this point forward you will always test any memory modules that you buy with memtest.
It is a very useful program.

  • Textmode/BIOS boot-up slowed down 15~20x after clean Win 7 Installation

    Hi there,
My company received a S10-2 (WinXP Home OEM) as a gift after purchasing an IBM x3650 server.
As my company is moving towards Win 7, the following was performed in sequence:
    1) Deletion of all partition (including the quick boot, recovery and WinXP partition)
    2) Clean installation of Win 7 Pro
    3) Office Pro 2k3, NetOp Guest
    4) Win 7 Patches from my company's WSUS server
    5) Replaced 1GB Ram to 2GB (DDR2 3500 667Mhz, 1.8v)
    6) latest S10-2 bios (rev 22)
    7) Win 7 driver: NIC and Intel GMA950
Textmode boot-up slowed down considerably after step 3) - even the underscore ("_") blinks 10-20 times slower. Generally it takes 15 minutes to boot into GUI of Win 7.
Despite the slow boot-up, speed/performance of S10-2 is acceptable once booted into GUI of Win 7. Windows Experience Index of HDD, RAM and CPU averages at 3~4 with Graphics lowest at 2.2.
I have tried the following but with no avail:
    1) Put back the 1GB RAM
    2) Reseated the following: HDD, RAM and WiFi
    3) Update BIOS to rev 22 (Step 6)
    4) Update Windows Drivers (Step 7)
I also came across the following blog entry that suggests to disable "Quick Boot" which I will try tomorrow (English description at the end):
    http://crashsource.de/114-acer-insydeh2o-bios-kaltstart-friert-bootvorgang-ein/
Kindly please advise what can be done before I send it back to Lenovo.
Any help and suggestion is greatly appreciated ;-)
    Solved!

    Dear all,
The issue seems to be resolved after installing the latest storage matrix driver from Intel. The boot time drop from 15minutes to approx 40 seconds.
It appears that the EFI BIOSes is very sensitive even to the drivers used by Windows?

  • Win 7 installation probs

    Info, first.
Toshiba Satellite L775-S7114 (big box v. of L775-S7111).  Win 7 installed.
Now, onto the history (condensed version):
Had HDD probs (laptop kept shutting down out of the blue).  Tried to restore HDD to factory defaults (on board recovery).  During recovery laptop shut down.  Started getting "bootmgr.exe missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart."   Would restart in HDD recovery mode and continued getting same message.
Ordered the recovery media from Toshiba.  Didn't work until I installed Win 8 (free OS only version from MS with purchase of this laptop), then used recovery media to factory default back to Win 7.  But found out prob was a bad fan.  Fan replaced.  Found out, then, bad sector on HDD.  Bought new HDD from Toshiba (correct P/N for this model).  Installed....
    Now the bigger picture/problem:
New HDD will not install either OS.  Win 7 (recovery media) or Win 8 (OS only).  Been trying for months now....  all kinds of workarounds and tricks I can find/think of to get it to install.  Been on the phone with Toshiba support toooooo many times with ZERO help or satisfaction.  Sooooooo....
Got a wild idea and curious if someone can help me figure out how to do it.  Was thinking that if I can connect the new HDD externally to the laptop, that I can somehow manage to install Win 7 (recovery media) to it.  Hell, I'll even accept Win 8 (OS only) installation, because I can then install Win 7 in it's place.
I may not be relating this thought in a clear way to the forum, so I'll explain further.  Currently the bad HDD is working on this laptop, albeit in a very limited fashion.  Every so often it dies, and I have to use the onboard HDD recovery to get it back to running.  I would like to externally connect the new HDD (correct one for this laptop model) to this laptop, use the CD-ROM drive to transfer the Win 7 (recovery media), or the Win 8 (OS only) to the new HDD "THROUGH" this laptops CD-ROM drive.
Can this be done?  Or would I have to transfer all the data from the Win 7 recovery media disks -or- the Win 8 OS only disc to a USB to transfer it?  I'm really not sure how to accomplish this task.  But, I am at wits end, as I have sunk a TON of money into trying to repair/rework this laptop (I really like it) to no avail.  I can't find a new laptop with the features this one has for anywhere near a reasonable price.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
All my best to the forum, and thanx in advance.
    Nawlins Jeaux

After holding down the option key after starting up, I tried EFI Boot, and the machine just booted into Mac OS X. I restarted again, and I selected Windows from the Win 7 DVD. After whirring a bit, a black screen said the following:
    1.
    2.
    Select CD-ROM boot type.
    Please help! Peace.

  • Satellite C850-F0152 - Wireless is gone after Win 7 installation

    Hello
I have a C850-F0152, i got it with Win 8 so i reformatted with win 7 x64, however my wireless is gone..
What i mean is, i had wireless with win8, i could connect to networks and stuff, but with the reformat its just gone, there is no wireless adaptor being picked up in my device manager, and i cant see anything in the Network and sharing center.
All my drivers are installled..i think, i let windows download most of them, and the only ones i cant find online and that windows also cant find is. Network Controller, USB Controller, then it lists 1 unknown device.
Help someone Please, i got no clue whats going on.
    Regards
    Brigadier

    > All my drivers are installed...i think,
Well, I think you did not install a compatible WLan driver
The notebook seems to support Realtek Wlan / BT combo card.
This means that one module shares the Wlan and BT function.
In this case you should install Realtek Wlan driver, Realtek BT filter package and finally the Toshiba BT stack.
PS. Satellite C850-F0152 belongs to the PSCBWF series. All drivers should be available on Toshiba EU driver page

  • Satellite Pro C850 - WLAN keeps failing after Win 7 installation

    Hi,
    I own a C850-1GR (PSCBXE), which comes with Win8.
I've bought Win 7 32-bit Home Premium and reinstalled it from scratch.
Afterwards I've installed the drivers from toshiba support page in the following order:
    Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Display Driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Realtek Audio Driver
    ATI HDMI Audio Driver
    SRS Premium Sound HD
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Realtek LAN Driver
    Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
    Intel Wireless Display
    Realtek Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
    Bluetooth Monitor
    Intel USB3.0 Driver
    Realtek Card Reader
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA Sleep Utility
TOSHIBA Resolution+ Plug-in for Windows Media Player
    TOSHIBA Media Controller
    TOSHIBA Media Controller Plug-in
TOSHIBA Network Device ID Registry Setting Tool
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
    PatchFiles PCIIDEREG-1.2
    PatchFiles
When the installation is done, WLAN fails after reboot, alternately.
    This means:
    *First boot: WLAN OK*
    *Second boot: WLAN fails*
*Third boot ( = first boot): WLAN OK*
*Fourth boot ( = second boot): WLAN Fails*
    *and so on.*
Failing means, the WLAN symbol is displayed for a few seconds, then the "no network" icon is displayed.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    >(Why on earth should a device report an error every second system boot?)
Yes, indeed this is very confusing and strange.
    Just one notice regarding:
    >Please note, that the intel driver is for "wireless display".
Intel wireless display works only in connection with Intel WLan card. If your notebook does not contain Wlan card from Intel manufacturers, the wireless display does not work
    >Furthermore, all these drivers are listed on the C850 driver page for Win7-32.
Yes, this is true but all these drivers appear because of different C850 with different hardware configuration.

  • Bootcamp WIN 8 installation failed

    Hello,
I have a problem during the installation of the bootcamp partition on my IMAC I5 2,7 Late 2013 - (OSX Mavericks - all updates are installed.):
    Steps I did yesterday:
I plugged in  an USB stick with the WIN8 ISO file
I plugged in an USB stick for the support software (formated in FAT)
I started the bootcamp assistant on my IMAC
I choosed the point: download the support software
Message: YOUR PC ONLY CAN RUN WIN 7 > ???????
I wondered abut this message, but I confirmed this message
Next Message: WIN7 support software was not found on the server
    Question:
Is there a problem on the Apple Server side, or is there a problem with the configuration of my IMac
I'am not able to install the bootcamp partition...

You're more likely to get Boot Camp advice in the Boot Camp Community. And if Boot Camp continues to give you trouble, you might consider running Windows in a Virtual Machine instead.

  • Satellite C660-1NX freezes while shutdown after clean Win 7 installation

    Good morning!
The first apologize for my English, I am Spanish and use a translator.
I have a Satellite C660-1NX (PSC1LE-00F00NCE), I had to reformat the computer, put on a clean Windows 7 64x (not recovery) with all original drivers giving official Toshiba page,
Everything looks perfect but when turn off the computer is completely frozen, I thought it was 64x and 86x and install the same, the first day all right, then started the same problem, eh updated BIOS, as usual, before formatting this did not happen, it is very weird,
I find the reason for the problem never happened to any computer this.
    Best regards

You mean the problem started after the recovery partition has been deleted.
    Right?
If you dont have a Toshiba recovery disk, you will not be able to recover the notebook to the factory settings. Of course you could order such disk here: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx but to be honest, the clean Windows 7 installation should run properly too.
Maybe you should format the HDD and delete all partitions using the 3rd party tool called GParted: http://gparted.org/liveusb.php
Create live USB stick and boot up the unit using this Gparted stick. Format the HDD, and assign new files system; for example NTFS
After that, install new Win 7 and test the functionality.

    Hi
You could install the USB 3.0 driver

  • Re: Win XP Installation on Portege R500 12Q

    Hi,
I would like to install Microsoft Win XP on my Portege R500 12Q (128GB SSD drive)
If I start the installation from CD, there is normally the possibilety to install a third party driver through pressing F6. But the problem is, that nothing happens if I press F6 in this moment (tried out more than once).
Ok if I wait i get the possibilety to specify the mass storage because installation program did not found any. If I want to install the drivers now, the only possibilety is to instal it from Drive A: (Floppy) but I dont have a floppy drive.
Over all I did not found the SSD- Driver at the Hompage but I think it is included in the Matrix Storage Manager, isn't it?
Is it really that difficult to install Win XP on a SSD? Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    greetings
    Stefan

    > Ok if I wait i get the possibility to specify the mass storage because installation program did not found any. If I want to install the drivers now, the only possibility is to install it from Drive A: (Floppy) but I dont have a floppy drive.
If you want to include the SATA driver using the F6 option then you HAVE TO USE the floppy disk drive. But if you dont have a USB floppy disk drive then you could use the software called nLite to include the SATA drivers into the new created XP CD.
The SATA driver is a part of the Intel Storage Manger and you can download if from here:
    [Intel Storage Manger 32-bit Floppy Configuration Utility (201KB) 8.6.0.1007 |http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/17061/eng/f6flpy3286.zip&DwnldId=17061&ProductID=2101&lang=e ng ]
For details about nLite search in the internet!
    > If I change the setting again in the bios I always get a blue screen, but I can not install the Matrix driver (SSD) as long as I dont change the setting and I think I dont use the possible speed of the SSD.
This is clear. You will get always a BSOD if you would change the SATA mode in the BIOS after installation of any OS. If you have installed the OS you cannot change the SATA mode in the BIOS.
But if you would like to change it again then you will have to install the OS again using the SATA drivers
