WIN XP On Lenovo G500 - Intel Core i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40GHz

Because, I must have WIN XP to run some particular applications, I have installed WIN XP SP3 - 32 bit - on my new Lenovo G500 Machine.
Guidance about the necessary drivers for running WIN XP - SP3 - 32 bit is required, as because I am a novice on that count. The Lenovo Download pages do not offer any drivers for WIN XP.
However, the WIN 7 - 32 bit drivers work fine with WIN XP, except the followings:
1.         Chipset Driver Install
                Tried     >>   imei110w7.exe
                Result    >>   Creates Error
2.         Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver Install
                   Tried   >>    irst110w7.exe
Result  >>        Got the following Error:
The Procedure entry point RegDeleteKeyExW could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll
3.         Intel Wireless LAN WIFI Driver Install
            Tried   >>        wlan110w7.exe
Result  >>        THE DRIVER IS NOT MATCHING - The system detects the availability of Wireless, but, when I go to Connect, the Blue Screen flashes and the system crashes and then restarts, and continues to crash and restart until the WiFi device is turned off. It even does not allow disconnecting the Wireless Network from the system. I have to disconnect the Wireless Network from the WiFi device / Modem.
4.         Intel Bluetooth  Driver Install
            Tried   >>        bt110w7.exe
Result  >>        Message >> Warning: No Approprite Driver to be installed"
5     Energy Management Install   >>  (32-bit)
        Tried  >>    emw7034.exe
Result  >>    ERROR: Messages (02 Nos):
                                01.       The Procedure entry point GetSystemFirmwareTable could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll
                                02.       The Procedure entry point SetDisplayConfig could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll
Can anybody out there help me solve these problems. Where is the mistake that I am committing. Any suitable or compatible drivers are urgently required.
Thanks in advance.

One more thing that I forgot to mention is:
The Device Manager shows the followings with a yellow exclamation mark:
01. Blutooth USB Host Controller;
02. Network Controller;
03. Unknown Device - this I had read that will be recognized after installation of Energy Management;
And, under System Devices (in the Device Manager) PCI Simple Communication Controller - is also shown with a yellow Exclamation.
Thanks

  • Is The Intel HD Graphics 4000 And The Intel Core i3-3110M Processor Good For Premier?

    Dear Forums Members,
Latley I've been looking for a laptop that can fit my video edting needs + some office work. What i need from Premier is the abilty to edit SD quality videos, my budget is not that high ( + I live in Israel where everything is more expesnive ).
I've been thinking about the Lenovo IdeaPad G500 5938-9998 wich comes with a Intel® Core™ i3-3110M Processor and Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and 4GB RAM and 500GB Sata (5400RPM) Hard Drive.
My Quastion is: will it be ok to edit SD videos in premier 6 or 5? and if not, wich premier IS good for this specific computer?
    Thanks ahead, Jonathan.

Jonathan, If you mean the old Premiere 6 or Premiere 5, then those versions of Premiere are extremely old and severely outdated. In fact, Premiere 6 was released before Windows XP even came out. As such, you may have serious trouble running Premiere 6 (not to be confused with Premiere Pro CS6) on newer versions of Windows such as Windows 7 or Windows 8.x.
On the other hand, if you mean Premiere Pro CS6 or CS5.x, then that planned laptop is too weak to handle much of anything (video editing related), especially since that i3-3110M CPU is only a dual-core CPU that's capped at 2.4GHz and that CS6/5 does not support GPU acceleration for any non-Nvidia or any integrated GPUs. As such, I second the responses suggesting the cheapo consumer version of Premiere, Premiere Elements (the current release is 12.0).

    Fixing a Mavericks Installation Problem
How to manage a failed OS X Mavericks installation | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews.
    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    Hi:
I am looking at the BIOS setup guide for your PC series and it shows there is a VT setting under the device configuration menu for "select models." See Chapter 3 page 6.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01662442.pdf
Here are the specs on the T6500 processor. It does not support VT, which is why the VT setting cannot be enabled.

  • HT2452 Is it possible to upgrade this IMAC to an Intel Core i7 Processor (2600K 4x3.40GHz) ?

Is it possible to upgrade this IMAC to an Intel Core i7 Processor (2600K 4x3.40GHz) ?

    Technically, it is possible.
You can upgrade the processor. I just upgraded mine earlier today.
I took me about 5 hours and voided whatever little warranty I had left.
The iMacs are standard Intel socket 1155.
As long as your TDP and Architecture is the same, they will work in 27".
Since you have the 2009 27" (as do I, just finished upgrading mine!) the absolute quickest you can go is a Core i7 880.
If you want a guide, HardMac has one.
Everymac has more info on the topic.
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/imac-aluminum-faq/imac-intel-aluminum -processor-upgrade-instructions.html
Should give you all the info you need.
    Good luck!

  • Can I run Lightroom on a PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU?

The specs for Lightroom state that you need a Pentium 4 processor.  My PC has an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.2Ghz.  Is this sufficient?

    Hi vc10,
You can install Lightroom on Core 2  Duo Processor.
P4 processor is the minimum system requirement for it.

  • Lenovo G500 - Intel Rapid Storage Technology" SATA disk on Controller 0, Port Unknown detected"

    Hi Folks,
I have a lenovo G500 laptop which i had purchased during thanksgiving vaction in 2013. The machine was working fine till June 2014 when I stated getting Blue Screen of death with error messages "irql_not_less_or_equal" The OS was windows 8.1. This created lot of problem while booting , the machine would not boot at all.
Along with this message I started getting this message "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" SATA disk on Controller 0, Port Unknown detected".  This message was coming very often.
I along with Lenovo support did all the things possible, like factory reset etc. Finally the machine was sent out to depot for repair in July 2014. They replaced the hard drive and sent the machine back.
I got the machine back on 22nd July and since last week ,ie, 14th July I have started to get the issues again. My IE and Firefox will suddenly hangon and the blue screen will appear again with same message "irql_not_less_or_equal" occasionally. Yesterday i started getting Sata disk message again.
I wanted to understand why this message is coming back along with blue screen of death. Is there some problem with Windows OS or hard disk seems to crash again?
    Thanks in advance
    shailesh

    hi Shailesh,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From this article, this is the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL possible cause:
"This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high.
The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.
If you encounter bug check 0xA while upgrading to a later version of Windows, this error might be caused by a device driver, a system service, a virus scanner, or a backup tool that is incompatible with the new version."
From your description, It's possible that the HDD or the RAM is faulty but it's also possible that it's a software (driver) issue -- which is the hard drive (SATA) controller.
    To verify, I would:
    1. Run a diagnostic on the HDD (via Lenovo's Storage Quick Test or via HD Tune)
    2. Run a diagnostic on the RAM (via Memtest86+)
       - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
3, Read the BSOD dump file to see what file caused the crash
       - How to solve Windows 8 crashes in less than a minute
       - If the file is associated with the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver (SATA Controller), uninstall the software from the Control Panel > Programs and let Windows install a generic Windows driver.
       - Link to picture
If you get an error after running the diagnostic test, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the issue.
    Regards

  • Lenovo G500 Graphic card problem

    Hello
I have bought brand new Lenovo G500 (Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40 GHz 2.40 AMD Radeon HD8570mGHz 8GB Ram) without system in it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate here, and I cant install graphic card.
I downloaded AMD drivers and when I turn on my notebook again, in manager graphic card  is off, because of error 43.
Can I ask for fast reply ? I'm keep fighting with it 2 days in row.

Does the computer feel overly warm when the errors occur? If so the Video Card may be overheating, or have a hardware issue. If your notebook is under warranty - would suggest contacting Lenovo Support directly for service.

You mean you don't have a Nvidia card in the UltraBay? And Windows shows 2 Nvidia GPUs and Intel GPU at the same time?
Have you checked BIOS/UEFI settings? From what I read, this thing has a hardware mux, so even with just one Nvidia GPU it's possible to switch between Intel/Nvidia/Optimus. But I couldn't tell if this can be done in BIOS/UEFI or if it requires some more magic that's done from Windows.

  • CPU Socket Type - X220 (4286-CTO) with Intel Core i5-2520M

    Hi,
I just purchased a ThinkPad X220 (model number 4286-CTO) that comes with an Intel Core i5-2520M CPU.  It should be delivered in the next couple of weeks.
Can anyone tell me if the motherboard for this model laptop accepts BGA-1023 or Socket G2 processing units?
    Thanks

well it is not socket CPU, it is directly soldered to the motherboard, you can't upgrade the CPU on the motherboard.

  • IMac CPU3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB, Extremely slow and repeatedly "out of Memory" since migration from Mountain Lion to Mavericks

    Dear Apple Support Community.
As mentioned by a number of users reporting the same problem, my 2009 iMac CPU3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM, has become extremely slow and repeatedly "out of Memory" since it was migrated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (OS 10.9 then OS 10.9.1).
I have already run CleanMyMac, deleted 5GB of useless stuffs, which did not translate into any improvement. Following the advices collected in other Apple Support Community threads, I have applied EtreCheck the outcome of which is provided below.
For information, I have also upgraded my 2011 MacBook CPU2.3 GHz Core i7, 8GB which became only a bit slower than before, sometimes freezing which it almost never did before. However, I am used to the fact that Mac get usually slower and more prompt fo freeze after upgrading to a more recent OS.
Both my 2009 iMac and my 2011 MacBook have F-Secure installed. So the problem with the 2009 IMac is unlikly to be due to the presence of F-Secure. Interestingly, the few abnormalities found by Etrecheck were exacly identical before I ran CleanMyMac. There are two more findings (mentioned below) since I ran CleanMyMac on the 2009 iMac, which again didn't improve the problem.
So please find below the details of the EtreCheck experience and some additional measurements made with iStat while running EtreCheck:

    Practically:
The iMac can work slowly with only one software e.g. either Mail or Safari or Firefox, but still the below "out of Memory" message occurs about every 3 minutes.
Aperture has becomre to slow to be useable
If trying to write a mail (with Mail) while Safari or Firefox is open, then the "out of Memory" message occurs about every 20 seconds so I need to check on "Resume" several times per minute.
    Conclusions
From the above, unless anyone in the Apple Support Community proves to be able to identify a specific problem leading to a way to find a cure, I tend to conclude that Mavericks is not suitable for computers operating with a Core 2 Duo CPU even with a 8GB of RAM.
Unless I missed something, I did not see any warning from Apple Computer Inc. informing their customers they should refrain from upgrading Core 2 Duo Computers.
The only solution I see so far is to downgrade from Mavericks to Mountain Lion. And the Apple Support Community would confirm that it is the only solution, I would appreciate to get your guidance on how to proceed.
    Intended action plan
Migrate the above 2009 iMac to a 2014 Mac Mini Server operating on Mavericks to ensure that no data may be lost while downgrading to Montain Lion.
Provided the above downgrading operation is successful, assign this 2009 iMac to partial retirement e.g. Mail, Skype, iTunes  and DVD player.
In advance, I would like to thank the Apple Community for helping me either i) finding a cure to the problem, ii) or confirming that Mavericks cannot operate properly on Core 2 Duo computers, iii) and in such a case, guiding me on how to downgrade to Mountain Lion.
    Yours sincerely
    Core

... what anti-virus would you recommend using?
Use what is already included with OS X. It already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The usual results of posting etrecheck output on this site without a full description of the problem are very poor.
The many "failed" warnings that etrecheck sometimes spews mean nothing. Those warnings are not a reason to reinstall the OS, or to do anything else at all. They should be ignored.
The better your description of the problem, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.
