APPLICATIONS 11i INTEROPERABILITY PATCH FOR THE JRE NATIVE PLUGIN
After reading the "readme" about the patch, it doesn't exactly state it's purpose. Is this the patch which will allow both WinXP and Win7 to both utilize 11i EBS on the application server?
I need to make sure that once we upgrade, OA forms will still be available to our Win XP users. The note doesn't make any explicit statement about this.

I need to make sure that once we upgrade, OA forms will still be available to our Win XP users. The note doesn't make any explicit statement about this.The certification matrix for Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and Windows XP/Vista can be found in (Note: 285218.1 - Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i). So, there should be no issues if you meet the minimum requirements in this document.

A problem with Client Security Solution patch for Mozilla Firefox3

After I updated Client Security Solution to 8.20, the password manager cannot work in FF3 again.When I tried to reinstall the patch, it asked me whether to overwrite the files or cancel. Then it indicates 'This patch has already been installed on this computer', but the problem exsits.

As much as I would like to upgrade to FF3, I have not had any success in either using the manual configuration changes noted in the above thread or by using the CSS Patch for FF3 provided by Lenovo on 8/6/08 found here:

This patch appears to duplicate the manual efforts provided by member KTP in message 12 in the above provided link from what I can see.
I have never had an issue using the TV password manager and IE7. It is a very reliable combination.
I have no issues at all using FF 2.0.0.16, CSS 8.1 or 8.2 (now on 8.2), and Thinkvantage (TV) Password Manager 3.00.0106.00 (came with CSS 8.2). I have never had Lenovo Password Manager on my T60. Everything works reliably well with this combination.
In 3 hours of work yesterday, I was able to get TV Password Manager to show up in the FF3 add-ons as TV Password Manager 3.01 and this is the only way I was able to make it work, but only for a single browser session:
1. Tools --> Add-Ons
2. Disable TV Password Manager, then restart FF3
3. Tools --> Add-Ons
4. Enable TV Password Manager, then restart FF3
5. TV Password Manager will work for the duration that I am using the browser session
Once I close FF3 and reopen it, TV Password Manager no longer works. The only method I have found to "reset" everything is to perform the above sequence, but again it only works for the single browser session. It is very consistent. Although in does not show this in the Add-Ons page, it almost appears that the TV Password Manager add-on is disabled after I close the browser and needs to be manually disabled then enabled as noted above. If this is due to a conflict with other software on my laptop, I have not been able to determine this.
In my efforts yesterday, I spent time uninstalling CSS 8.1 or 8.2, FF, and even removed registry entries related to these packages in order to start with a fresh install, all without any success. I tried fresh installations and added the manual changes promoted by KTP and also tried fresh installations using the Lenovo patches, all without success. I made attempts to troubleshoot to root cause by removing all add-ons except TV Password Manager, and also tried preventing certain software from installing at startup via msconfig, as well as multiple settings changes within FF3, all to no avail. Again FF 2.0.0.16 continues to work very well with little effort on my part. I simply install the software and ensure that TV Password Manager 2.0 in installed in the add-ons and that's it.
In the above FF3 thread, it appears that others have had success with KTP's changes so I am a little frustrated that I cannot make FF3 and TV Password Manager work reliably. I have FF2 and IE7 working so I have plenty of good alternatives at this time. I will post this at the FF3 above as well to see if anyone has any feedback.

The firmware file is running on my unit and all features including WLAN are working. More than 700 successful installions until now !! I don’t want to blame linksys but as long as I'm faster than the linksys software department the answer to your question will be YES. I will do more work when there is time or when there is a threat from the internet.
Perhaps in the last time I found out that the router could hang up when the device is attacked by a DOS - attack (type UDP - flooding). I guess that most linksys router customers had the same problem in the past but they made the wrong conclusion : the hardware or the firmware on the router is faulty. Doing nothing is simply inacceptable!

Issues with installing Time zone patch for Oracle 10.1.0.4 in Windows

I have a working Oracle 10.1.0.4 installation on Windows box, I successfully patched the time zone patches(5865568 and 5126270), OPatch successfully installed the patch. But when I verified if the patch was installed, it says the patch is not installed. I wonder if any one else had this issue.
The only difference in my installation was that my database does not use INIT.ORA but uses SPFILE.
The Post Installation steps called to make certain parameter changes in INIT.ORA and restart the database. In my case I did not do this.
Any ideas?

I'm about to install this patch also. If I'm using an spfile I'll need to create pfile from spfile and modify the parameters in the pfile. When I then restart the database in migrate mode I must then say that I'd like to start using the pfile. Am I correct in assuming this??
OR since I know that I'm using an spfile I could alter the spfile and use whats below. After I restart I can then take out these changes.

Can't use HAT with hprof dump from 1.5 JRE plugin

I have a memory leak somewhere inside my Java Applet. I can produce a hprof dump file but when I try to use the HAT tool to analyse it I get the following error....

I don't know what version of HAT this is but the files date from 1999 (I got it from a link off the sun site).
I know HAT isn't a Sun product as such but as it seems popular I hope someone here may have used it and can give me some pointers as to why I can't get it to analyse my dump file correctly.

11i EBS XML Publisher Report with Multiple Data Source

I need to create XML Publisher report in 11i EBS pulling data from another 10.7 EBS Instance as well as 11i EBS in single report.
I am not allowed to create extract or use db links.
My problem is how to create Data Source Connection using Java Concurrent Program.
The approach I am trying is
1. create Java concurrent program to establish connection to 10.7 instance.
2. Will write the SQL queries in Data Tempalete with 2 Data Source 1 for 11i EBS and 2 for 10.7 EBS
3. Template will show the data from both query in 1 report..
Is there any other way to proceed using datasource API...

The query should be same @ detail level, only the template has to be different for summary and details.
@runtime, user can choose to see the detail/summary
Disadvantage, if the data is huge,
advantage , only one report.
option2:
create two separate reports summary and details
and create diff data and diff layout and keep it as different report
Advantage, query will perform based on the user run report, summary/detail, so that you can write efficient query.
Dis advantage , two reports query/template to be maintained.

I am about to commence an Oracle BI Apps Financial Analytics 7.9.6 install using Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 as a source for the BAW utilising Single Sign-On (SSO). Is there a list of any paticular EBS Interoperability patches, minimum EBS Family Packs for the EBS modules within Financial Analytics (GL, AR, AP) and SSO patches I need to be aware of?

Good news is I have set up the java workflow mailer and every thing is working fine we are able to recieve email alerts to our email boxes as well as to blackberry device.
But one last issue still remains. When the approval notification email comes to blackberry device, and when the approver tries to approve the request by pressing the approve link, the message box is completely empty and the requester doesn't get any message in the email but the request gets approved. Is there any setting that I have missed

I follow document 812315.1 and OAM installation gudie to install OAM 3.0 plug-in to OEM 10.2.0.5. Everything look fine on OEM server. I also follow 812315.1 and tried to install patchs on EBS R12.1 application server:

Win7 certification for 11i EBS - *Problems with JInitiator*

Gurus,
I've been trying to certify our 11i EBS on Win7. Web-based Jdeveloper pages load just fine. When trying to open OA Oracle Forms, the browser attempts to download JInitiator and then hangs. I have not successfully been able to install Jinitiator on Win7.
I opend up an Oracle TAR (SR) with the following response provided below. Has anyone had any success with JInitiator on Win7. If our users have to manually download JRE, this could become a huge headache.

Hi Scott,
If you dont want to install jinitiator or JRE manually and they are not getting downloaded on cleint machine ,what you can dop is If your clients are on domain network then you can deploy JRE in domain group policy and JRE will get installed automatically(through group policy) when the Client machines reboots.

Win7 certification for 11i EBS

Manually installed JRE 6cu17 on client machine after receiving information that JInitiator is no longer supported under Win7 IE8. I rebooted my machine and reopened 11i EBS Oracle Forms. Forms is still attempting to download JInitiator after JRE install. Is there a configuration within Apps to designate JRE vs JInitiator? Even with JRE, OA forms will not open. JInitiator hangs when trying to intall itself.

We have an on-going (UAT) user acceptance test for a new setup EBS 11i on Aix 5L, for FINANCIAL MODULES(GL,AP,AR,CE,FA).
Currently, we still encountered error or bugs and need to apply some patch one by one.

I was able to find-out 11i EBS forms and reports version, can you give me some information, what is latest patch set available currently forms/reports for 11i EBS..

Patch 6194129 is the main patch (Developer 6i Patch 19). However, you still need to download all additional patches and Oracle Applications 11i Interoperability Patch which are mentioned in the same document.
