Win7 needs ver.8?

I just ordered the Stylus Photo 1400 which comes with adobe elements ver. 7, and so it will not run on my Win7 64bit system. The option to upgrade is for a fee. It should be free. Based upon my reading of this forum, your software is not worth it. Sadly, from what I can tell is the ver. 8 is a hack of ver. 7 which "allows" it to run in Win7, but is hampered by lack of support for native code and WMI to yelid proper speed, and may cause system crashes and hangs until the program's un-optimzed (non-win7 code sets) to be translated to Win7 translator. In essence, a hack of ver. 7. HP did the same thing with their "Solutions Center" for which I trashed my printer in favor for Epson. Adobe, you saved some money by running ver. 7 though a converter to work on Win7, but you lost me as a customer.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "version 8". Are you talking about iTunes 8.x, truly that old version? Or what, exactly, and how are you trying to update?

I have Ver 12 installed & a website says I need Ver 8 or 9 for it to function properly. Is there a way to make ver 12 run like Ver 8 or 9?

The "IowaCollegeAid.gov" web site for filling out an application for financial Aid comes up with a window stating their web site will not work properly with my Firefox Ver 12 and it only supports ver 8 or 9. I tried to use Version 12 anyway but it appears not to work. Is their an option to make Ver 12 act like Ver 8 or 9 in this case or what else could I do? Do I have to reinstall a version 9 or is that even possible?

The first thing you need to do is to update to Firefox 20.0.1, with the latest security updates.

Hi, I am new to this forum so please excuse anything I may say that sounds a bit stupid but I am not very technically minded.
I have got an iPhone 3gs ios version 4.1. The phone was locked to Vodafone and I asked them to unlock it which they did. I connected the phone to iTunes and it said congratulations your phone is now unlocked. My new Tesco sim card was accepted and the phone works fine. I have tried to download some apps but they all seem to need a higher version of the ios. iTunes says there is an update for my phone ios version 6. I need to know if I update my phone to this version will my phone still be unlocked and also will the phone continue to work properley. Hope someone can help.

I've installed adobe reader X recently.
For the 1st time I tried to open a PDF file, below message pop up:--
I want to select "Accept" but I am not able to kick any button ("Accept", "Reject", "Print", "Save") inside the pop up message.
I want to close the PDF file but cannot do it as well. Finally I need to close it by Ctrl+Alt+Del "Task manager".
I have uninstalled the Adobe reader X & install it again but same problem happened again.

RSL error #2032 with IE8, Win7 Flash ver. 11.8.800.168

I have some users that are getting a RSL error # 2032. The only ones getting this error are running IE8, Windows 7 and have Flash Version 11.8.800.168. Users running IE9, Windows 7 do not get this error. Is there a solution to this?

No, we are not able to repair IE. We are controlled by GPO. Would you happen to know of any GPO that would cause this error in IE8?

I purchased a new processor which i was told would work no probs on my system the old processor was a Intel dual core 1.8MHz
the new processor is a
Intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93ghz
fsb 1066MHz
3MB cache
the problem being when i fitted processor tried to boot PC and nothing.....nothing on screen PC don't boot etc etc
all i get is the front power light on the processor fan running nothing going to screen and it just sits there doing nothing
all i can think of is the bios but i tried emailing Packard bell nothing msi nothing searching on net nothing
please please please help

Blank Screen and flashing cursor on new build-P67A GD65 (B3). Help needed.

As per the title, a computer was built for me with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
Cpu Cooler: Arctic Freezer xtreme Rev 2.0,
Motherboard: MSI P67A – GD65 (B3)
PSU: Super-Flower Amazon 550W
RAM: 4GB G.Skill RipJaws-X, DDR3, 1600
HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200rpm
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme - 1 GB GDDR5
Disc Drive: Samsung SH-223C DVD+RW
Case: Cooler Master 690 II LITE Midi-Tower
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Everything went ok with the build and installation of the OS. Computer was booting ok. When I took the computer home that evening, powered it on and a blank screen with a flashing cursor on top left hand corner appeared. Tried several times but failed to boot up properly. Just to note that I can enter into the BIOS and it recognizes HDD, processor, Disk Drive and RAM. What I have done so far (of course with advice from computer experts as compared to me) are the following:
1. I removed all the parts except cpu and cooler then put them back. When I restarted a message appeared that win7 need to do a repair. It went thro the process and then it stated it can’t do repair. Did this twice. When I restarted the third time, a blank screen with the blinking cursor appeared again.
2. Cleared the BIOS using the button on the outside of the motherboard and also once using the jumpers inside the motherboard. After doing this, I pressed on the “”ON” button several times (with no power on to the computer) to dissipate any current that was left there.
3. Interchanged the RAM on different slots. Also tried using only 1 stick of Ram at a time.
4. Checked the HDD on another machine and it was ok. Formatted the HDD on the other machine, plugged onto new machine and tried to install OS again but no joy.
At this point, I’m now stuck after almost a month when the machine was built. Would it be the motherboard? RAM? etc. Just wondering if I should RMA the motherboard since it is just over a month when it was delivered.
A point to note, there is a message that comes up when it is booting stating no HDD is detected. I googled this but found out it was to do with a marvel adapter that needs to be disabled or something like that. However, it was mentioned that this wasn’t going to affect the performance of the pc as the BIOS can detect all the components.
I also noticed that when I switch on the pc, there is a small pause before it kicks on then there is a long beep followed by 2 small beeps. I presume this is normal.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated?

Disable EuP 2013 & that should take care of the pause. The beeps are normal at startup. Only time I have observed a blank screen & blinking cursor is if the system wasn't getting enough juice to initialize, or their was insufficient power in an OC attempt. What kind of +12V amps does that PSU you have provide?

Need a Linux suite for N900

N900 is a Linux phone right ? why we still have to stick with a Windows suite then !? Linux boots up on my netbook in 30s where Win7 took 2min. Linux recognizes the phone mass storage and modem out of the box where Win7 need to install drivers, without the modem driver I can't access the internet to ask question about this phone, but the phone does not come with any s/w and driver disc so I must download from internet beforehand, thanks God my netbook has Linux installed so that I can write a note complain about this !! This is no Joke Nokia, N900 is the worst supported flagship phone I ever had, please at least give us a working s/w suite with your next new phone !!

you've got high hopes!! the pc suite support for the N900 is terrible (though the next ovi suite will support the N900)
they've been promissing ovi for macs for ages too.. we'll see that years before a linux suite..
the protocol the pc suite uses to talk to the N900 is fairly hidden, but it is far easier to see how it works on Maemo compared to S60..
a revamped gnokii would be interesting.. using phonet and nokia's obex and pcsuite protocols via usb/bluetooth but that isn't even the hard part.. its integrating into the other random linux components.. like evolution and gnome vfs..
the stuff on windows is far more stable from that perspective.. and the api to achieve that integration is relatively simple..
they'd have a hard time integrating with kde and gnome, not to mention HAL and udev for hardware integration..

Hp Envy dv6 7210tx WIN8 Recovery issue!

I got laptop with C Drive and D as a recovery drive.
Unfortunately i was unaware of new UEFI and win8.
I resized my C drive using old (win7 compatible ver) of EASE-US Partition Master
into three partitions, I didnt touched recovery GPT partition nor other factory made partitions. After reboot by applying changes,

1. Yes, you need to buy a new OS. Mac OS X 10.6 requires a Mac with an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.
2. It won't erase your files unless a problem occurs. Back up everything anyway; this can be done with Time Machine or by creating a bootable clone, and requires an external drive.
