Win7 PC won't run upgraded photoshop CC (2014) as standard user

Since upgrade from photoshop CC the PC won't run using the standard user account (which is on the office network) but only run as local Admin (which doesn't have access to the office network).
when opening photoshop CC 2014 the PC prompts for local admin rights, then can't see the files on the network drives.

Thanks Jeff.  The user is a standard user. He's been using Photoshop CC on this same PC for a long time.  Photoshop CC (2014) is not crashing.
In order to upgrade, I had to switch to the local admin account, upgrade was successful.
When my standard user logs back in using his personal, standard user account, he is prompted for Admin credentials when he opens Photoshop CC (2014).  He enters the admin password, but he then can't access the files on the network, as the local administrator doesn't have access to the network.  This happens every time.
He has no problem running inDesign, or the old version of Photoshop, or any of the other suite of products.

I can create an action but the droplet doesn't do anything when I drop a file on it.  I am running Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 on a 64 bit Windows7 PC.  I exactly followed the steps on a youtube video on how to create an action and how to create a droplet.

Thanks for the reply, I tried that but i wasn't able to get it to work. I also tried to see if l could using the
    function functionName()
and I was still unable to.

I haven't tried it yet, so i could be way off. But since you assigned it to a variable I would say it won't do anything until to call that variable. I would assume there must be a show command or similar that is needed for it to display.
My experience is with actionscript and javascript but still I lean towards basic. I don't feel comfortable enough to say I am any higher yet as more experience is needed in my opinion.
So feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt.

  • Droplet won't run in Photoshop 10.0.1

We have four computers running Photoshop 10.0.1 and running the same action to create a droplet on each. Three computer consistently create a droplet which works; the fourth creates a droplet which just opens the file (s) and stops. If we go to file/automate and create the droplet manually, it works. If we create an action to create a droplet with the same processes, the action when run makes a droplet which doesn't work. Is that clear?
The enclosed screen shot shows the action being made into a droplet "process files..." and below that the droplet to create an action.
This is a minor nuisance, as we can always create the droplet manually, but it is a puzzle why this happens on one computer and not the others.

I'm running a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo Mac,2 GB SDRAM, and OS X 10.4.11.
This first started happening this morning- I've never had a problem like this before. After I sent the email, I went back to the application and the brush was working fine again. About an hour later I went back again and I had the same problem. I then thought it might be my mouse- I am using the mouse that comes with the Wacom tablet. At that point I tried my logitech mouse and the problem disappeared- went back to my Wacom mouse and the problem was gone for it also. Any idea what's happening?

  • Shortcuts on my pen won't work? Photoshop CC 2014.

    Hey there.
I was used to working in Photoshop CS6, but recently upgraded, today actually, to the newest version.
I have the Intuos5, Medium Touch tablet, and now my buttons on the pen is not working.
They're working fine outside of photoshop.
    I'm running Windows 8.1
Is there anything I can do?`
If the question has been asked before I'm sorry, I could not find it, and therefor I asked.
    Love.

  • Since we've started running Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 we get intermittent problems that causes Photoshop to hang.

The problem lies in the preferences file (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Adobe Photoshop CC Settings\Adobe Photoshop CC Prefs.psp). When I open some PSD-files in Photoshop and try to print them photoshop hangs. If I press ctrl+P or just click file -> Print the program hangs immediately. The print file windows doesn't even appear. So, when i delete the PSP-file it works fine for about 2-7 days, then the problem appears again. I want  permanent solution for this so that I don't have to remove this file every week, sometimes I forget to save the file before printing and then I lose my work since the last save. I'm running this on a HP Zbook workstation with W7 SP1. Thankful for help.
    Best regards
    Peter

I've kind of ruled that out. I've uninstalled the printers and drivers we use, the problem occurs either I have Adobe PDF Printer as standard printer or any other printer for that matter. Also, the error message appears immediately, it seems as if photoshop does not even have the chance to connect to the printer.

but then why elAdobe Extension Manager says they are installed?
    And then they are not

  • Collection Editor won't run

ZAM 7.0. The collection editor refuses to run when either a scheduled
inventory scan runs or when I force a scan from the Web Console on any
machine. It will however run if I run Cclient.exe scannow:edit direct
from the client, or if I place the collection client in Diagnostic mode
and select File, 'Scan/Edit Now' from the toolbar.
I have also checked out TID 10099546 which suggests to check the hostname
in cps.ini and this is not the problem either, as os verified by the fact
that it runs manually and stores the editable field data correctly.
    Thanks
    Lenny

Hmmm... OK - then let's do this: Run an ordinary collection as a standard
user (set up to run the editor after the collection), and as soon as you
get the failure dialog ("Cannot open the selected inventory!"), don't
click "OK". Instead, open Regedit and let's look at something.
In Regedit, go to HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Tally Systems
Corp.\TSCensus\CollectionClient and look at the Wifname value. It SHOULD
at this point be a fully pathed WIF name, and it SHOULD be pointing at
    your InboxCC directory.
Do standard users also have rights to change this registry key? They
should; any thing in HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Tally Systems
Corp.\TSCensus may be changed by some part of ZAM.

  • Open GL Photoshop CC 2014

I'm unable to open 3D files in Photoshop even though I have a brand new iMac, Retina 5K, 32Gigs Ram, 4Gigs Vram (AMD Radeon R9 M295X).
Keep getting an error that 'open GL' needs to be turned on, which it is and all memory allocations are maxed out.
Adobe tried helping, remotely looked at my computer, and couldn't figure it out. What's confusing is I'm able to open 3ds files in Photoshop CS5, but it won't open in Photoshop CC 2014.
Anybody else having this problem, really not sure what to do if Adobe couldn't assist.

Ben has a very good point.
This may help you. It could be you need to go into AMD's Control Panel. You would need to set Photoshop there.
How to Force Graphics Options in PC Games with NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel Graphics
The problem is that we specialize in Photoshop, but beyond that it's hard. We don't know what in your system is blocking 3D, but your graphics control panel is the best guess.
It may help to visit AMD's Catalyst support if you are not sure how to set that up.
These Graphics Control Panels load at bootup and can easily block settings and trap keys. The Graphics Panels are important in that if there is already an onboard graphics processor like Intel, it can force the 3D capable card to take over to prevent Photoshop from crashing on the Intel drivers.

  • Windows 7 Elevating using UAC, does not change the standard users setting, it runs the Admins settings

When elevating privilege for a standard user using an admin account, the UAC runs the application under the admins account "user" and not the standard users account "user", the problem is that doing so, it does not change the standard
    users settings
In this example, trying to change the "Check for Updates Automatically" as the standard user, is grayed out, you have to be an admin to change this. This is a design of Java.
When you right click and run as an administrator, the option is no longer grayed out and can be deselected, however, this only changes that setting for the admins specific "user", not the standard users specific "user" the admin is elevating
    privilege for. as illustrated below.
Is there a work around for an admin to run his credentials but elevate the standard users session instead of his own or some other way to set the standard users setting when admin credentials are required?

    Hi,
Based on your description, I understand that you want to disable
Check for Updates Automatically option for standard users in Java.
You can achieve this target by editing
EnableJavaUpdate registry entry. For more details, please refer to following articles and check if can help you.
(Please back up before that registry operation. That will help us to avoid unexpected issues.)

Pagemaker is ancient, obsolete and unsupported. It was discontinued over 10 years ago. (Though why it is still sold is a mystery.)
If you want to run PageMaker, your best bet is to use a Win2K or WinXP PC.
Otherwise move to Indesign or look at Serif's PagePlus or Scribus.

I tried installing the Lightroom and PS upgrades through the Creative Cloud installers - they install but won't run.  Lightroom won't start at all now and PS starts, gets to the main window and immediately shuts down.   I've restored, reinstalled, uninstalled all old versions, run CC cleaner multiple times sucessfully - nothing has worked.
    Help is appreciated.

I ended up putting it in DFU mode.  It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w.  I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't run, problem with Application Manager

I've now got three Adobo Photoshop CS products on my MacBook Pro, the latest is CS6 which won't run.
I own Photoshop CS3, I just happen to install the CS5.x suite today, which runs during the trial period (30 day, today is day #1).
I then see that PSCS6 is out so I install that and get an error dialog.
    Adobe Photoshop CS6
Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.
Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager.
I go to that URL, run the new application manager and get that same dialog box when I try to run CS6.
When I did the CS6b install it asked for my Adobe ID/password and I entered that and the install completed. So I'm not sure what's going on.

Hi, Using OSX Lion...was getting the same AAM errors.
I hope my "fix" is of help:
During one installation attempt I noticed that it was using an Adobe Application Manager here:
    ~User/Applications/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
It is version 6.0.236.0 and the installer deletes it after the install. The download page only has version 2.
So during my last install attempt, I grabbed a copy of that OOBE directory -- to catch the support files -- before deletion.
Did not work in user Applications folder, but when I copied it in the location of AAM 2, it works.
The full location is as follows (I renamed the original OOBE folder as a back-up):
    HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe Application Manager
Authorization works, and software update seems to...however, uninstall can't use this method.
