Win7 Pro not seeing Mirrored Raid

I have 4 hard drives in my MacPro.
disk 1 OS X 10.6 (500GB)
disk 2 Win 7 x64 (300GB) set up through bootcamp
disk 3 1TB storage
disk 4 1TB storage
Using Mac's disk utility, I made the two 1TB disks a mirrored RAID. I then checked to see if I could access the new RAID set under Win7. Win7 does not see them accept under Disk Management where they show up as hardware, but they have no drive letter. In short, I can't see them as usable drives or the mirrored RAID I set them up to be on the Mac side.
As a test, I went back to the MAC side, deleted the RAID set which then unlinked the drives making them show up on the MAC desktop as two separate drives instead of one. Rebooting to the Win7 HD, I noticed that now windows sees the two drives as usable storage.
Now, this is not what I want. I want a mirrored RAID usable by both the MAC and Win7.
*How do I get Win7 to see the mirrored Raid?*

most likely you are out of luck.
Windwos 7 can not see/use harddisks that use Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as file system.

Migration assistant screw up, Mac Pro not seeing wifi/TC

I've been using a MacBookPro (MBP) for almost 5 years now, with a 1TB Time Capsule (TC1) using Time Machine (TM). I am the sole user, HDD is 270Gb used/50Gb free; using Mavericks, v10.9.2. On Friday, I used Sophos anti virus home edition, to scan the MBP. It comes up with no threats identified, and I uninstall Sophos.
Yesterday I took delivery of the Mac Pro (MP) with the 3Tb Time Capsule (TC3).
I booted up the MP, with the TC3. I did not, at this stage, connect the TC3 to the internet. Using TM, I backed up the MP. TC3 flashes the amber light.
Using Migration Assistant (MA) I tried to copy the MBP to the MP, 3 times. This did not work. At the point where the target machine has listed what is available to transfer, I click Continue and MA on the MP closes, on the MBP it says something like connection lost. The screen where this happens, lists 3 items available to transfer Application, Documents/Date and Computer settings; with a content of 128kb indicated, which is clearly wrong! The connection was an Ethernet cable direct from the MBP to the MP.
At this stage, I decide to connect the MP to the internet using TC3, there's some settings to be changed on TC3 using Airport Utility and it connects ok. TC3 has a steady green light.
I run 2 software updates on the MP. I surf the net briefly, to make sure it's ok.
I try again to use MA. This time, the dialgoue box listing what's available to transfer is different. There are 2 or 3 more options, colour is present, the font is different, the box is about the same size. The MP would not let me take any screenshots as all other applications are closed when MA is running. I don't think it gave me the size of what was being transferred, but it looked more hopeful, so I Continue and the transfer starts, with an estimated time of 33 minutes.
The transfer completes.
The MBP, as you would expect, has not changed, the MP has, but not in the way I expected. Applications appear to have all transferred (without checking them), no Documents/data and no Downloads appear to have transferred; I ticked to transfer everything.;I know I can reconnect the Ethernet cable and simply copy the data across.
But the main problem appears to be, the MP does not see the wifi.
Ethernet cable is removed.
The MP asks if I want to give permission to eeEvents manager (I presume calendar related) and say yes. It also asks if I want to install a Java run time, no.
In System preferences/Network it tells me a new Thunderbolt bridge has been found and asks if it's ok, to accept it, yes. It tells me the Ethernet cable is disconnected, rightly so; it says Airport is not connected.
I open Airport utility, no sign of the TC1 or TC3 despite it searching. Apart from TC1, the MP, MBP and TC3 are sat within a couple of feet of each other.
I turn on TC1/TC3 (separately and not at the same time, then at the same time), but the MP does not see them. I've reset TC3, rebooted the MP and still the MP does not see it.
I don't get any errors or warnings coming up.
I think my next option is to try and reset the MP to the factory settings, but this won't work, as I've no internet connection to reinstall OS X. No disc is sent with the MP.
Any suggestions as to what to try? Otherwise, I'll be off to the Apple Store tomorrow for a One to One!! :-(

Take the MP and connect it via ETH to your main router.
Restart the machine holding down command option R, you should see a spinning globe
Open disk utility and reformat the MP HD as Mac journaled
Then install OSX on this drive

Disk Utility gives error and does not rebuild mirrored RAID

After having a HDD fail on a mirrored RAID I replaced the HDD and attempted to rebuild. Disk Utility reports via Console that it can not find an Apple Boot partition to check size and then fails to repair the RAID. Details follow.

I configured this RAID scheme (two two drive mirrors striped together) according to this kbase document: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304377
As shown in the above "diskutil checkRAID" output I have a failed HDD. So I replaced the HDD with another 160GB cold spare. I added the new drive to the mirror "Mirror_1" also known as disk5 and hit rebuild. Received the normal message that all data on the new drive I was adding would be erased.
I then receive the following error immediately in the Console Log:
Rebuilding RAID "Mirror_1"
2006-12-15 23:50:24.741 DiskManagementTool [375] WARNING: Could not find Apple Boot partition to check it's size, skipping disk5s-1s.
Rebuilding RAID slice "disk4s3"
Just to stem some confusion, the device ID disk4s3 has been used by the system for both the old failed HDD and the new replacement HDD.
The result of this attempted rebuild is I end up with all the data from Mirror_1 on the new HDD but the new HDD is not successfully added to the RAID, therefore Mirror_1 is still degraded and my problem not resolved.
I ran the appropriate rebuild cmd from both the GUI Disk Utility as described and from the CLI "diskutil repairMirror disk5 disk4s3" but no joy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This volume houses a large amount of important data including user home directories so while some offline time may be required data loss would not be very acceptable.

Win7 does not see my Mac Drive?

after buying a macbook pro for the first time i installed windows7 using bootcamp. i use autodesk inventor, but it seems i do not get this to work properly with parallels, so i am forced to use bootcamp and reboot all the time and switch between autocad for mac and inventor... now i have one big problem and that is that i need to be able to reach and open the autocad files on my macdrive/partition... but windows 7 does not show me the macdrive/partition. in disk management in windows it shows up, but the only thing i can do there is to delete the partition. also the partiotion does not have a drive letter? but again the only tas i can do to this partition is "delete"
can some one tell me how to get this partition to show up under win7 and to use the files there

Mac Pro not seeing network login items

Hello
I have seen similar mentions of this issue, but no satisfactory answers- I have a Mac Pro on a windows network. I have put several networked drives in the the login items so they will auto-mount, but it is totally random which drives mount and which don't upon login. Some of them are different partitions of the same physical hard drive!
Of course the bootcamp (win XP) side sees the drives properly upon startup. I never have problems mounting these drives when I go to mount them from the finder.
Any Ideas?

Yeah, me too. I have an Xserve dealing out 6 volumes to three workstations. I just added a Mac Pro tower. The other machines (Powerbook G4, Quicksilvers dual-gig & 733) mount networked volumes at login as per a longtime setup. Only the MacPro won't mount them properly.
It displays a "Connection failed . . . blahblahblah" dialog. Click OK and most -- not all -- the intended volumes instantly mount.
I reckon "too fast for the network" is the problem. (I tried changing MPro's network address from DHCP to static IP; no dice.) Tomorrow I'll try an Applescript that will run at login, mounting the volumes after a short time delay.

New macbook pro not seeing all iPads in bretford cart

My new macbook pro running 10.9.4 and configurator 1.5 is only seeing 19 iPads in my bretford case. Other MacBooks and airs see all the iPads even running the same software. traded connecting to iPads under a new user on the mac even though its a new machine and i did not migrate still only seeing 19 of the 27 iPads . My macbook is working fine other wise and i configured my iPads in the card just in smaller sets. not sure what to do about this any suggestions would be great.

I bought a new MacBook Pro (OS X version 10.8) recently to replace an older version. I work with different Sony cameras (Hard drive and flash drive storage), but when I connect the cameras (Sony Cx560, 700 and XR520) to the Mac it only shows an AVCHD icon. Usually you can see the individual files. We have 3 Macbook Pro's here and on 2 of them it works. Is there a setting or a driver I need to download for this new Mac? The other ones read it without intsalling anything.

Hi - this is probably a dumb question.. but i have upgraded with a new video card which is CUDA enabled but in New Project Settings the Video render box is greyed out. Macbook Pro not seeing my surround sound interface

I use a PreSonus Firebox interface to output surround sound from Logic 8. It worked fine on my previous computer, a standard MacBook. I recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro and it won't show up in Logic or the computer's own System Preferences. I never had a problem with it on the old computer so I'm wondering if there's any trick to get it to show up on this now one.

I see that some people earlier this year had this same problem where there was mentions of chip sets and drivers. It doesn't look like anything really was resolved, but one person said that he fixed his problem by downloading a firmware update from the PreSonus site. So I went there and tried downloading the "FireBox Mixer application and Control Panel (10.3.7 - 10.5+)" but the downloaded file is invalid and won't open. Drag.

Windows 7 pro not seeing my network

Ok so I'm actually not totally sure that the windows side is seeing my wireless adopter, but for whatever reason it won't connect to the internet. It doesn't even see my home network or the neighbors. I've installed this correctly and as far as I know the Mac side is working fine. Please help!

Macbook Pro not seeing other Macs on network

I have a network of 7 Macs. Some are connected with ethernet, some connect via Wifi. I have a Verizon router with a wifi transmitter and an Apple Airport Express. Both the router and the Express use the same network name. I have configured the Express to extend the first network. I use WPA security.
I have file sharing and screen sharing enabled on all of the computers.
Today a MacBook Pro (10.6.3) has had trouble seeing any of the other machines on the network. It can access the internet and send email, but it cannot access the server that has its TimeMachine backup drive, nor can I get it to see any of the other computers on the network.
I have run Repair Permissions and re-started. I recently did do the latest OS 10.6 update which updated Java. (Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2)
What can I do to help this machine see the network?

Yes, every Mac is on the same subnet. This machine is behaving strangely. The inability to connect to other computers went away and now is back. It has always been able to connect to the internet, but it still cannot connect to other Macs on the network.
Would interference between the Verizon router wifi transmitter and an Apple Airport Express be a possible culprit?

K9A Platinum - Not seeing RAID Array on restart...

Hello again guys...
Here's the deal...
The computer will not recognize the RAID array when I choose to restart from inside Windows. If I press the reset on the computer or I do a shutdown then reboot, it works fine. Also, this morning I finished a clean install of Vista 64 and forgot to turn off sleep mode like I normally do, and when I came back home I got a tasty blue screen. When I tired to restart I got a message stating that the RAID driver was corrupt or missing. I reloaded Vista again, but I still have the issue of the machine not seeing the RAID array upon restart, and I have tried this about 10 times with the same results.
Restart = No Recognized RAID Array.
Cold Boot, Reset Switch or CTRL+ALT+DEL = No problems.
My system specs are in my sig below.
There was one other tidbit, I had a problem with this motherboard failing to load Windows with 4GB of RAM installed when I first got her, and thru this forum and the MSI help center, it was suggested I update my BIOS to a beta version that was out at the time. I see now that the version is now a standard release v1.6, should I go to the release BIOS or just stay with the current one?

Yes I can. I first installed XP Pro since I was testing system stability with my new 6000+. Every soft reboot results in the array being undefined. I have to wait until the controller scans and says there is no array, then I can reset it to make it see the arrays. If I reset before the controller scans, it still shows no arrays.
Vista 64 Ultimate will only install on my K9A platinum if the following is true:
1) The SATA controller is in RAID mode, I have 4 SATA HD's, none are striped, and my DVD is external
2) The desired HD/array must be the first boot device, if the DVD is first it will refuse to recognize the partition as valid to use
If I use Native IDE or AHCI mode, Vista doesn't see any partitions. If I use Legacy IDE mode, Vista will start the install, but on reboot the motherboard pauses for 5 minutes and tells me the HD has an error and I have to hit F1 to continue.
I only recently got Vista 64 Ultimate stable again. I was having a problem where the system would power off instantly when it reached the desktop. I replaced the power supply. I then had trouble getting the drivers installed without crashing the OS. One thing I noticed while reinstalling Vista is that Microsoft automatically updates the driver for the RAID Controller. The driver version is 2.5.1540.41 and the version that the ATI 7.6. and 7.7 want to install in 2.5.1540.36. That would put it out of sync with the ATI RAID Console driver. The next reboot would result in crashing. Can't prove that is why though.
