Win7-touchpad

Two weeks ago, I installed windows 7 on my macbook air 13". I installed all drivers needed(I suppose) and in bootcamp I adjusted touchpad settings. As time passed by, i logged in my w7 and my touchpad sensitivity and setting are as far from the previous ones as possible. no right click availabe, tapping not working. I tried to adjust setting in bootcamp once more, but no luck. Help me please. Do I need  new drivers, or my macbook just decided to make fun of me for couple of days

You should try Vista's driver as most of the drivers compatible with 7 too. [Toshiba drivers|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] If it doesn't work, try to use from other models..

hp 110 mini running win7 touchpad stopped working after using usb mouse

    New Years Greetings!
If this is Synaptics TouchPad, try this:
Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings
On that page, look to see if you have "Disable internal device..." checked.
Regardless, you can try the "Reset Devices" button to try and kick it free.
    I hope this helps.

  • HP 2000 - 2c12NR: Removed Win8, Installed Win7 64-bit; Touchpad Problems

    Greetings HP forums!
My name is Bob and I am having an issue with an HP 2000 laptop.  A friend requested I remove Windows 8 from a laptop, and install Windows 7 since he was much more familiar with the old GUI.
I installed Win7 64-bit and am having issues with the touchpad consistently working correctly.  I have let Windows use its generic drivers, and have installed the Win8 Synaptics touch pad driver/utility.  Both drivers produce the same problematic results.  The strange issues I am having are as follows:
    - Touchpad works fine for 5-30 minutes
    - Touchpad becomes inoperable for varying amounts of time; 1-5 minutes
    - Touchpad starts working again, but requires higher than normal pressure to work OR only works on the RIGHT side of the touchpad
    - Touchpad stops working again, and then after swirling/twirling my finger around the touchpad it will start moving itself without any further input to the Touchpad at all.  Everytime it starts moving on its own, it exhibits the same behavior.  It moves only vertically, in  a perfectly straight line, roughly 2/3 the heighth of the screen, and is very choppy skipping up and down; This lasts for 10-30 seconds.
    - After it's done 'ghosting' the cursor up and down, the Touchpad is usable again, but is very finnicky.  It requires excessive pressure or response is very laggy/inaccurate to the touch you are inputting.
    - Typically after a reboot it works perfectly fine for a short amount of time, and then starts acting as I have described above.
I have tried altering any and all of the settings in the Synaptics driver utility to no avail.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled, enabled/disabled the hardware/drivers numerous times.  Each time either drivers are removed and installed it will work fine for a short amount of time and then go back to acting crazy.
I thought the ribbon cable may have been loose, so I opened the laptop up far enough to check the ribbon cable for the Touchpad.  All was well, everything was snug.
At this point I am thinking there is an issue with the Touchpad itself.  While I am waiting for a reply I am going to try reinstalling Win7 since I have exhausted all other ideas I have.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Bob Melchert
    ChicagoLand Geeks
    *EDIT*
I just started the process to re-install Windows.  Once files were finished loading and the initial install screen had loaded, (where you select Language, Time/Currency Format, and Keyboard input method) the Touchpad immediately started moving vertically on itss own.  Once it stopped moving on its own, I am only able to move the cursor vertically in the spot where it was moving itself; Any input to the Touchpad only allows vertical movement.  This is the first time I have encountered this issue.  Since this is happening with Windows loaded into RAM, I am becoming more certain this is a hardware issue.

    Hello disgrntld,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand there is no audio coming from the computer. Before anything else, I would suggest a manual uninstall and reinstall of the sound driver:
    1. Go into Device Manager, then "Sound, video and game controllers".
    2. Look for the Audio driver. Right-click on it and select "Uninstall". Do not restart the computer.
    3. Restart the computer. It will force the computer to detect the hardware and install an appropriate driver.
Please let me know your results. Thanks!

    Hi @HungVo ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Probook 450 g and issues with the mouse drivers.  The Synaptics Driver in Windows 7 comes with mouse drivers. Unless you are using a USB mouse which would use the Plug n Play drivers. Here is a download that might help.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to enable multi-finger touchpad gestures on 2740p win7 64bit tablet.

I recently purchased an HP 2740p that works pretty well.  The issue I'm having is related to the multi-finger touchpad gestures.  I'm a huge fan of two-finger scrolling, and the manual for this tablet states that this pc has multi-finger scrolling.  The manual also describes/explains how to use this feature.  However, when I first got this tablet, the "multi-finger gesture" options were grayed out in the synaptic touchpad setttings window.  I then elected to install the latest synaptic touchpad driver in the hopes of enabling this feature, but this only allowed me to check the "MultiFinger Gestures" checkbox, and not actually use mutlFinger gestures.  Is this a known problem with this pc/synaptic driver combo.  If so, is there a fix?  Any help would be appreciated.
    E
    Build: HP 2740p, i5, 4GB DDR3, Win7 64bit, synaptic touhpad driver version 15.2.7.0 (12/22/2010).  Product #: 2CE0330DSH

If you find that it is greyed out, try right clicking the synaptics tray icon in the taskbar and if the option "disable gestures: is ticked, untick it and the options in the touchpad settings should be accessable.
    Hope this helps

  • G530-4446 - Win7 - Scroll on touchpad no longer works

Hey, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate on my G530-4446. My touchpad works, but the scrolling doesn't. When I go to Control Panel > Mouse - I notice that the settings are no longer there to control the scrolling. I remember there was a driver I downloaded previously that corrected this issue, but cannot find it anywhere (I've been searching for 2 solid days now). If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    hi mcal,
May I ask about other feature did that driver put back some other feature no your touchpad?
I would suggest doing a clean install of that driver.
try to look first under control panel Programs and features look for a synaptics software the un-install it.
After that do a restart and reinstall the Driver again.
also try to access the Setting under mouse properties
and check if the scrolling are enabled.
    link to sample photo
that photo may not be exactly the same but that should give you a hint on where to check.
    Hope this helps,

  • Can't disable tapping on touchpad Pavlion Dv7t Win7

I have a HP Pavilion with Windows 7. I can uncheck the Tapping box in the Synaptics control panel but I can still tap to click. I want to disable tapping to click. I only want to use the buttons for clicking.

It's very strange that it is not disabling in the setting. A workaround you can use is to speed up the double tap speed so that it requires the touchpad to be double tapped really fast to activate.
    1. Click to open Mouse Properties.
    2. Click the Buttons tab, and adjust the double-click settings.

  • 2013 15" MacBook Pro, Win7 64 in Bootcamp 5. Touchpad is too sensitive when typing.

Just got a new Mac Book Pro 15" with Retina Display.  Installed Boot Camp 5, Windows 7 64 bit.  Everything has worked fine, but noticed while typing that the cursor "jumps around" randomlIy.  In researching this issue, I saw where in Version 3 of Boot Camp there was a checkoff box in Boot Camp setup for "Palm o Gestures" so that, while typing, the touchpad would not react (to my palm resting on the trackpad).  How to fix?

Hey... False, BootCamp 3 hadn't any ability to filetr accidental input. I know this for sure, as I've been fighting like a crazy with awful BootCamp drivers back in 2010 In documentation such checkbox was mentioned, but that was like a bad joke from Apple. Try the Trackpad++, it has this option. Works perfectly for me, for years already.

I have one of the new XPS 13 laptops that's plagued with poor touchpad performance.  It looks like a new firmware was released to address this problem but it's only supported for installation on Windows 8.1.  I have already removed 8.1 and clean-installed Windows 7 and when I attempt flashing it crashes.  What are my options for installing this update?  Only thing I can think of is temporarily installing 8.1 just to install the update then switching back to Win7 as the firmware should be independent of the OS, but that would be a huge pain.
Here's a thread (one of many) that outlines the poor performance and provides a link to the update: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19616659
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Todd

Hi I'm the original poster.  I originally used an old work login of "RustonPaving" for ease but as this is turning into a bigger situation than I anticipated I'd like to transition this conversation over to this personal login I've just created.  I'll send you the friend request from this profile in a moment.
Thanks for the help so far on this, although I've got to disagree with you on the firmware issue.  Firmware is generally installed onto an EEPROM on the hardware device and has nothing to do with the hard drive and would therefore persist through OS changes, hard drive replacements, formatting, etc.  Anyway, don't want to belabor the point.  Let me know what you're able to make happen on your end.
To clarify the problems I'm having as there seem to be several different symptoms floating around, here's a list of the issues I'm having:
    - 2 finger scrolling is difficult, it generally doesn't register and instead just moves the cursor up and down.
    - Finger tapping can be overly sensitive and cause unwanted clicks.  The only sensitivity setting in the Dell touchpad utility effects overall sensitivity, not just tapping.  So if I decrease sensitivity it makes it almost impossible to even move the cursor around.
    Thanks,
    Todd

  • Touchpad does not work even after format - x220t

    Hi there,
I've had my X220 tablet for about 10 months and it has been great.  For the last month however, the touchpad and touchpoint have become flaky.  When rebooted or coming out of standby, the touchpoint/touchpad often did not work; after resetting a few times, i would work, but then stop working again when the system when into standby mode.
I thought this was a driver issue, but uninstalling and reinstalling to the newest drivers did nothing.  I have also updated/reset the BIOS.
I have more recently have not been able to get the touchpad working at all now and relying on just the touchscreen for input is very frustrating.
When Windows 8 CP came out this week, I decided to give the computer a fresh format and reinstall Windows --- maybe that would resolve the issue. No luck.  The touchpoint/touchpad did not work even in Windows 8.
I read around a bit and have tried disabling JUST the touchpad in the BIOS, and amazingly, the touchpoint will work fine when I do that.  When I disable just the touchpoint or leaving both enabled, neither the touchpad or touchpoint will work.
As far as I can tell from what I have been able to diagnose, the touchpad is damaged and is causing a conflict with the touchpoint when enabled.  I am not sure of this, but it is my belief now.
Are there solutions out there for me?  I do have 2 months left on my warranty, but I hope to keep mailing my notebook in for support as a last resort.
    thank you,
    steve

If you are ready to reinstall Windows, try this method:

If after that your trackpoint/touchpad still don't work, I think one of them (or both) is defective.

  • [SOLVED]Keyboard and touchpad doesn't work after reboot from Arch

Excuse me, but i'm a newbie. I'm not sure if this is an arch problem, but i will just post it here.
I've beening using Arch64 and it works just fine. However, every time i reboot from arch into Windows 7 (32bit), the keyboard and touchpad will stop responding just when the Win7 splash screen shows, however the mouse works fine. Then when you shutdown the computer (from win7 now) it will take apparently longer time, and sometimes i have to press the power key 5 seconds to make it shutdown.
It seems the correct way (to reboot from arch to win7) is to shutdown down the computer first and start it again, and everything will work fine.
And rebooting from win7 to win7 or arch to arch or win7 to arch will work fine too.
I'm glad to post extra information, but I've got no clue and i'm not sure what to put here.
The laptop is a Lenovo Y450 with Intel Core Dual P7540, 4G Memory, NV GT240M. Kernel version of Arch is 3.0.6 (but the problem existed long since earlier versions) I don't have a swap partition. If you need extra information, please mention the item.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi!
That is indeed strange. Since your external mouse works fine (which probably is connected via USB, right?) it appears that the problem lies somewhere around the internal keyboard/touchpad access. I'm not sure how this works with a Lenovo Y450, but just try to enter BIOS (in case you have not been there, you probably have to hit F1 or F2 during startup - less likely it would be delete or escape ...) and look for your keyboard/touchpad options.
You should probably find something like "... legacy support ...". This is a relic from PS/2 times and emulates your internal input devices as PS/2 devices. So - when found, just change the setting (you cannot mess anything up, and both systems will probably not even pop up a message). My guess is it is set to "enabled" and Arch somehow messes with the PS/2 emulation in your case .... so just turn it off.
    good luck
