Window 7 internet explorer 8 (Client)

Hi all,
I need help. I could not use internet explorer 8 to connect to EBS 12.1.1 server. I have updated the hosts file with server host name and IP address. I have added it as trusted site as well for security. It initially connected and I opened the Apps GL forms but after a while it will not connect again. My operating system is window 7.

Nick,
Please go through (Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 389422.1]) and make sure you meet the minimum requirements in this doc.
Also, make sure you have the settings in (IE8 AND R12 SECURITY SETTING REQUIREMENT ON CROSS SITE SCRIPTING (XSS) [ID 1069497.1]).
Can you reproduce the issue with Firefox?
If you still the same issue, please check Apache log files (error_log* and access_log*) for any errors.

Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

How can I get Windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air?

I have several websites that I need to use for my new job that have not been tested for Mac. I don't want to have to buy a PC laptop, so I was wondering if there is a tried and true way to get windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air.

Or install Parallels 7 and then you can run IE just like any other app from within OS X itself. That costs around $50 plus the Windows license though.
Personally I have created an IE9 RDP (remote) App on my terminal server at work and just run that. Looks like it is running on my Mac natively.

Windows Internet Explorer 7 has a Favorites feature that Firefox does not have?

The feature which I will like to see in Firefox is the ability to type a first letter of the Bookmark that I want to get to in the listing.
In Windows Internet Explorer 7 favorites listing, I can easily reach the part of my favorites list by typing the first letter of that part of the list I wish to reach. Obviously this makes this easier than having to scroll down to the part of the list I want using Firefox Bookmarks.

I know you're trying to help, but your not being clear. I don't know what you are talking about. For example: How do I open the Bookmarks in the sidebar? Where is the sidebar? How do I get to the sidebar?
Look, let me be helpful to you in your efforts to help me and others who have this question. What you need to do is tell us step by step what to do. For example, say you were telling us how to open up the Firefox browser. Here's an example of proper instructions:
1. Press Start on your computer.
2. Look for the Firefox Icon in the left panel and click on it.
3. That will start the Firefox browser.
Look, that's a simple example which, I'm sure, everyone can relate to. What's important is that you see what I mean by giving proper instructions.
Remember Cor-el, some users do not have your level of understanding. So, you may have to assume you're talking to someone who is sort of brand new to this browser.

I have E61i and need to go into internet to check my Lotus Notes Email through Sametime but I cannot as it seems that there is a problem with JAVA enabling as the msg i get is make sure that JAVA is enabled on your mobile.
The JAVA is enabled already and I checked it but I still cannot get through at all.

Internet Explorer install stuck on "Installing Windows Internet Explorer Core Components" Windows Server 2003

I am running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition R2 x86.
I'm trying to install Internet Explorer 7 but the installation is stuck on "Installing Windows Internet Explorer Core Components". CPU Usage is stuck at 100% (svchost.exe is at 99%).
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I should try next. Does anybody have any ideas?

Well, I decided to just reboot my machine and IE 7 seems to have installed itself properly.

Alignment bug in Windows Internet Explorer

Im trying to get a silly blog off the ground; I get it to display fine in Safari; Mac/Windows Firefox......but there is usually a major format bug in Windows Internet Explorer. The column on the left wants to keep shifting to the center. Can't find the cause. Any solution? Thanks;-)

I do use iweb enhancer and massreplacit for additional code in the head and elsewhere, hmm , I'll check into that possibility.
Of course it comes out fine on every other browser. Meantime; in iweb, the left column is placed exactly on the left edge. So Im stumped. Should I shift left, right, toward the center?? I could shift both columns to the right; so the left is in the center, and the right is on the far side; but then they might still tend to bleed over one another...hmm

is there any way i can prevent BT programs like Home Hub , Broadband Help etc automatically using Windows Internet Explorer and use my preferred option of Mozilla Firefox? I find that Internet Explorer really slows my PC down.

perhaps i should have mentioned, but this is a mark 1 hub - if i click on the orb there is no mention of default programs but thanx anyway.
i can set default in windows but the BT programs just override it to use Internet Explorer!

How can I get photo templates in iWeb to display on Windows Internet Explorer?

I am creating a web site, using iWeb 3 (latest version), for a friend's band. I have created a Photos page, using the My Album template. I have also created various bio pages, using the Photo template. When I tesy the pages on my virtual Windows maching, with Internet Explorer 9, I can only see the text and no photos. Anyone have a similar problem and a solution, being to continue to use the iWeb page templates?

virtual Windows
you can not depend virtual machine, it's an emulator and emulator is not the real thing... just like open a web page in safari and use develop --> user agent.
you have to test it out with a real pc and real ie browser.
iweb photos/albums page are loaded with javascript widgets, so turn on javascript in you pc/browser.
optimize photos/albums page will have no effects with javascript widgets.
fact check people, a lot thing won't when javascript is off... start out with navbar...

First welcome to the Apple Forms.
The short answer is yes – there are basically two methods that you could use:
Option 1: Run Parallels/Bootcamp and install Windows XP on your Mac. Though this will give you the greatest flexibility in running Windows apps, it also generates the most headaches – just look at the number of post concerning this option. Also this has the greatest cost $79 for Parallels (Bootcamp is free from Apple) plus the cost of Windows.
Option 2: Install Crossover from Codeweavers (www.codeweavers.com) this product is based on the WINE project and basically installs a 'Run Time' version of Windows XP. I am currently running IE6 in a ‘bottle’ with no problems as I need to access Outlook Web Access. This solution is also the cheapest ($39 for standard - $69 for Pro).
Either of the solutions should work though my preference is Crossover.

Windows Internet Explorer 9 will not allow me to download Firefox. How can I fix this?

Running Windows Vista with Internet explorer 9. Need to download Mozilla Firefox. I get to the Firefox download page, click on the Download button. I get at message asking if I would like to save the Firefox Setup Stub, which I did. A small extra window appears, presumably for the installer download, but nothing ever appears in it. The download page says that if the download does not begin shortly to "click here". I did that and nothing happens. Please help!

Try using the full download installer, rather than the "stub" installer. <br />

Hi this is my first post here even though I have been a member for some time. I would like to thank everyone for all the helpful information, as it has helped me greatly.
First off I am a IT computer engineer for a major hospital I do the programming, setup, deployment and maintenance of our hospital computer systems as well as Bio-Med. So you guys and gals can speak the lingo.
Now to my question. I will explain in detail.
We have computers that are know as generic and have generic logins in certain departments, (where anyone from the department can go to the computer and then use it for research on the internet). Well we seam to be running in to a problem with the night staff
where they surf the net for pleasure/playtime and these computers then get infected with virus, malware...etc. No one knows who it is and everyone is pointing fingers.
Is there anyway to have Internet Explorer 9/10 on Win7 have a login, so that a user tries to launch Internet Explorer but Internet Explorer will not launch unless the "user" has a login for the application and that application only. Thus giving
us a log of What time Internet Explorer was used and by what user and this is what they did/or went.
Example...
Generic account (ph12345) is open to everyone in the department, all they have to do is hit enter and they are on the desktop
BUT
User (DC12345) login to Internet Explorer @ 1:35am
AND
did this...
Now these computers have to stay generic accounts for the staff. I am asking is it possible to have just the application "Internet Explorer" have a login to launch the app???.they user will click on the application "Internet Explorer"
a popup window or a login screen comes up asking for login information. Then if the user has rights to Internet Explorer it would launch and they then can do what they need to do. But at the same time create a log of the launching and what was / where they
went.

I understand what's your requirements, but based on my plenty of test, I doubt there is no way to restrict IE start.
In Windows 7, Compatibility of IE properties, it shows greyed out and couldn't be check run as administrator. That's to say, we couldn't restrict a standard user use IE.

Register and Host activeX component in windows / internet explorer

I have made a ActiveX control for commericial application. A Drag and Drop component for Mail server.
I need to host the component in Internet Explorer.
When a user opens a mail it should prompt the user to download and register the Drag and Drop activeX component.
When the user comes to url for the first time and when page loads for the first time, normal security alerts should pop up. Such as the user should be prompted with the drop down menu, when he clicks 'Install ActiveX Control' a Security Warning dialog box should pop up with controls name on it.
When user clicks to install, the component should get registered in the
windows registry. (How to do this in JSP/Java?)
The next time user comes back on the url the page should load the ActiveX component as it is already registered on the PC.
OS supported are Windows 2000, XP and Vista
IE supported are IE 6 (SP1/2) and IE7
Please suggest Java code and Script which will do this.
