Window 7 RC installed on Lenovo 3000 N500 4233 52U

I purchased a new WD Scorpio Blue HDD (320GB) today and installed Windows 7 RC. This was one of the easiest OS installations I've ever experienced. Windows had drivers for all hardware with the exception of the Card Reader. I was able to download the Win Vista driver off the Lenovo support site which took care of the problem. The touch pad had basic functionality but lost the scroll feature with the driver off the installation CD. I installed the Win Vista driver from the support site which fixed the scroll functionality. Even with a Celeron processor the system seems (to me at least) to perform much better. What impressed me was that, when I checked the hardware screen and it showed a some type of hardware had not installed (the typical cryptic message), there was a link that took you to a page showing what the hardware was and its manufacturer (that was the card reader). This significantly speeded up the time troubleshooting the installation. I'm impressed with the job Microsoft did not this version of Windows!

The chipset for this computer is SL40 - but I cannot find the correct textmode and other drivers for SATA.  Can anyone help me?
I know about the nlite program and I know how to slipstream WindowsXP but I need to find the drivers.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

  • Drivers for Lenovo 3000 N500 4233-5FG notebook

    Hi everybody!
yesterday I became my brandnew N500 4233-5FG notebook. Here are the specifications:
    http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NS75Fxx?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_express
A friend of mine and I tried to install Win XP, but most of the drivers from the lenovo support HP don´t work. We´ve  read  lots of threads in this forum and all over the internet, but nothing helped!
Here is what we did till here:
    1.switch from sata to ide
2.forcing the notebook to boot with the optical drive, because otherwise it showed no reaction on the Win Xp CD
    3.installing Win XP
    4.installing the drivers from  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/product.do?template=%2Fproductpage%2...
5.Win XP "runs" but almost all the drivers are announcing conflicts and as consequence nothing works (sound, LAN, and so on)
6.then we installed the net framework and tried the drivers described by the user voyager in this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&thread.id=8077&view=by_date...
    7.nothing worked
8.then we installed Service Pack 3 for Win XP an tried again the drivers from the lenovo HP.
9.there was no improvement, which means there are always the same problems as at the beginning...
    10. as it was 4 o clock in the morning and we had a very long day, we decided to go to sleep... ;.))
Can anybody help me and/or has  anybody experience with exactly the same notebook than i have?? (n500 4233-5FG)
It would be very helpfull to have some suggestions on how to do it right or perhaps anybody knows something about were to find the right drivers?!?
Thank in advance and lots of greetings,

I reviewed the link provided for your Lenovo 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx]
    Link:
    http://www5.pc.ibm.com/europe/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NS75Fxx?open&OpenDocument&epi=web_expr...
At the bottom of the configuration table, under "SOFTWARE", it says "Supported operating systems" PC DOS 2000 (limited), Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium.
It doesn't appear that the 3000 N500 [Model Name: 42335FG, Part Number: NS75Fxx] is intended to support XP.
    What am I missing here?

  • Error while trying to install Rescue & Recovery 4.3 on Lenovo 3000 N500

    Well, hello to everyone.
I hope you can understand this, because my English is not very good.
So, let's get to the point.
Recently, I tried to install Rescue & Recovery on my Lenovo 3000 N500. But when everything is nearing completion, I get the message that states: "Rescue & Recovery can only be installed on some systems."
Please explain me a bit this "in some systems," because I've had before the Rescue & Recovery. I do not understand why I can not install it now.
I appreciate your help in advance

    Hi,
the key point is that RnR application can be installed only on some systems (especially ThinkPads)
This is due to the fact, that these systems have some functions, like the F11 key, hardcoded in the machine and can thus use the full quality of this application.
Unfortunately system like yours is not supported by this application, so you will not be able to install, nor use it.
    Cheers

  • Soundcard driver problem - Lenovo 3000 N500

I have a problem with the installation of a suitable driver for the soundcard of a Lenovo 3000 N500 under XP.
Initially there was no sounddevice displayed at all - After installing windows service-pack 3 the soundcard appeared as -
    "audiogerät auf high-definition audio bus"
I downloaded and extracted all drivers from here - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/quickPath.do?sitestyle=lenovo&quickPathEntry=4233-5FG&ope...
Additionally installed  "Intel HDMI Audio Driver"
Still no suitable driver and therefor no soundcard available.
I saw other posts with similar problems, but the solutions did not help me yet (f.e. Intel HDMI Audio Driver), but maybe instal has to be done in some very certain order.
I would be very greatful for any help!

As of today, status unchanged, no drivers available HERE. Unbelievable.

  • Increase RAM in a Lenovo 3000 N500-3DG

Hello.  I've already bought a new notebook Lenovo 3000 N500-3DG, which has this memory RAM: 2x1GB / max.4GB SODIMM 667MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM. I'm not an expert on computers and I wonder if someone could help me:
    1) I'd like to increase my RAM. What would you recommend me, to add one or two GB?
    2) Which brand (and specific model) of RAM should be better for this notebook?
    3) How can I install them on my computer? Could someone who have made it before explain me how to do it step by step (and if it were possible with graphics, draws or images).
Thanks for your help and excuse my not correct English.

    Hello ERIXX and all people,
I apologize for not speaking in English

  • Installing Windows 7 on my Lenovo 3000 N100

    Hello!
I have Lenovo 3000 N100 with Windows xp.
I want to install Windows 7 on my computer and I have some questions:
    1) Is it possible to install Windows 7 over my computer?
    2) I have paratition C and rescue and recovery hidden paratition. As a part of Windows 7 installation I have to format drive C.
If i format drive C my paratition will be deleted too? I mean, after Windows 7 Installation will I have the option go restore back to original factory settings (Windows xp) by getting into ThinkVantage by clicking the Lenovo Care Button during startup?
    3) Will I be able to get Windows 7 compatible drivers for my computer? (Sound, Intel graphics, wireless card and etc)
    Thanks!

Windows 7 works well on the N100 with 2 GB ram,
    and a dual core CPU.
If you do not change the size of c: partition,
Lenovo Care Button may still work. I do not know for sure,
as I never used it on my N100s.
Also make sure you have burned recovery disks,
in case the button does not work.
It is also a good idea to create a "disk image" using
a program like Acronis True Image, or similar before
installing another OS. This would be stored on a external hard drive.
There are also various free imaging programs available
on the web. This has been my preferred method.
As for drivers, I only needed to install Audio, and Card Reader
drivers. Win 7 had built-in drivers for the rest, and windows update
found some newer versions. Your results may be different,
due to the different versions of the N100 hardware.
So with some planning, Win 7 works quite well on the N100,
    with some minor quirks, IMO.

  • Missing Drivers - Downgraded from Vista Home to Windows XP Pro SP3 - Lenovo 3000 N100 Notebook

    Hey,
I have a lenovo 3000 N100 as well and recently downgraded to Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3.
However, I have a lot of hardware drivers missing (yellow question mark) -
    1) Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus
    2) Base System Device (listed thrice so I'm guessing there are three separate drivers needed)
    3)Network Controller
    4) Video Controller
    5) Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
I have no audio or wireless either. Lastly, I have spoken to lenovo and they asked me to download some drivers from lenovo.com. I did and also downloaded every possible driver for XP on the lenovo site but still had no luck.
I would really appreciate any help/guidance you can offer. I have exausted all resources at this point.
My email is xxxxxxxxxxxxx so feel free to reach out to me there as well.
    Thanks a ton.

  • How to re-install pre-loaded windows Operating system On LENOVO 3000 N200

    Hi!
I am having re-installed Windows Vista Home edition on my laptop. Does anyone know a procedure to re-install the Vista for a clean install. I have not received any recovery disk from LENOVO along with the laptop. Do I need to download all drivers from the LENOVO web site to recover my system after the Vista re-install? Do someone has the recovery disk for this model (0769)?
    Regards,.
    Arun

Hi ljinks, welcome to the forum,
do you have a folder D:\drivers on your system? I believe that some Idea system do; it should contain drivers and preinstalled apps in which case hopefully you'll find it there.

  • Windows 7 install on Lenovo B50-30

    Hello Everyone,
I suggested to a school that they invest in some Lenovo B50-30s as they were cheap and cheerful and would do what they needed.
I checked the Lenovo driver site and saw that there were windows 7 64bit drivers available, so presumed I would be able to downgrade them to fit their domain setup.
I have tried every different bios configuration, even taken the HDD out and installed win 7 64bit and checked it booted in another system and it was fine, put it back in the Lenovo and it just gets to the point where the Win 7 dots appear as they create the windows boot picture, then it blue screens and says the bios in this system is not fully acpi compatible.....which is what it says when trying to reload from every kind of media known to man.
Is there a genius out there who can save me many more pain staking hours of grief and tell me what to do please, the bios in this system is so basic its unreal, you can choose boot device priority and achi/ide/compatability modes etc, but thats about it.....what happened to ram voltage settings etc that I used to enjoy messing about with.
If anyone can figure this, I will buy you a pint!! I'm hoping in the words of Barney Stinson....."Challenge accepted!!"
    Thank you in advance.
    Andy

    hi!
yesterday i ran Kaspersky virus scan tool and it detect file named "tvtfilter.sys" as suspicious file and thefore delet it.
today when i was restart my laptop, i got error message on startup that say:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\rrservice.exe"  abnormal program termination.
after some google search i've understand that "tvtfilter.sys" was critical file of "Rescue And Recovery" system.
so, any one with "Rescue And Recovery" running on his laptop can upload for me this file?

  • Lenovo 3000 N500 23G Battery Status LED problem.

I am having problems with the Battery Status LED on my new laptop.  The LED turns blue at around 22-30% charge and the Hardware manual indicates it should be 95%, also the LED remains lit when fully charged on battery power when it should be off. The biggest problem is that I have no idea on when the battery is charged and I should not need to boot into windows to check this.
I have already returned an identical model to the retailer for the same reason, they did confirm that the unit was faulty and send me another which seems to have the same suspected fault.
Has any one else have the same problem as me, I am not too sure if I should return the 2nd unit for a refund and look elsewhere?
I did contact Lenovo support before and was advised to get it repaired under warranty, I did not need to do this as the unit is less than 30 days old and I wouldbe entitled to a refund or replacement.
Below is an excerpt from the manual I downloaded from this website.
    Thanks, Mark.
Blue: The battery is charged to 95% or more of its capacity.
Blinking blue: The battery is being trickle-charged
Orange: The battery is being normally charged
Off: The computer is operating on battery power, and the battery has enough power
Blinking orange: The computer is operating on battery power, and the battery is charged to no more than 8% of capacity.)

The battery is going to fail on this unit; actually it is a defect in the circuit built into the battery the detects charge level.  It has been happening quite frequently with IBM/Lenovo batteries these days.  If you have warranty left, get the unit in for repair or you will be out of luck like the rest of us who bought these units with failure prone batteries and a poor excuse for product quality.  If you care to help your fellow Lenovo owners, call, email, write, picket, jump up and down, do what ever you have to do to voice your concern and complaint to as high a person as you can at IBM and Lenovo.  We have to keep the heat on at a corporate level at both IBM and Lenovo, to remind them that there is a price to pay for the fact that they do not care about their customers.

  • Hard drive 53GB full on new laptop, windows 7 installed by Lenovo

Hi, I just got my brand new Thinkpad E440, and upgraded to a 128GB SSD. I also upgraded to have Windows 8 rolled back to windows 7 pro.
However, my hard drive is already 53GB full straight from the factory. Does this sound right? And is there anything I can do to get this down?
    Any advice is much appreciated.

    Hi Gwhit
Is this is the first basic capacity you got once you installed the 7 copy ?
What is version of win7 you installed ?
    Thanks

  • Upgrading graphics card on a Lenovo 3000 N500 laptop

Is a 'BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express Graphics Card' compatible with this laptop? If not, which type of card should I look for to be compatible? And how do I install it? Right now I have 2 'Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family' graphics cards installed.

Laptop graphics cards tend to be soldered on. Some have replaceable units which utilize a manufacturer proprietary port. Others have what's called a MXM slot which are somewhat interchangeable.
However, considering your laptop was manufactured with integrated graphics, it is highly unlikely that you will be to change/upgrade to a better graphics card.
I do believe that there will be a better solution in the future. Read about MXM 3.0 standard. It's quite promising.

    Thanks for the help!!
