WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS ???????????????????

Hello Tha209Sav,
We need to see if you can get into safe mode. Once you are in safe mode we need to see if we can go back to a time before the issue started happening.
This Microsoft Answers thread addresses the same issue you are experiencing.
windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
1. Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2. Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
 4. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5. Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
6. You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7. You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8. Logon to your computer
Once the system boots into Safe Mode, try restoring the system and check if it helps, here are the steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue. 2. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click next.
4. Click Finish.

  • "Windows could not start this screen saver"

My timeline playback gets interrupted by Windows' dummy screen saver consisting of a blank screen with the message "Windows could not start this screen saver".  I'm running Premiere CS 5.5 on Windows 7.  I only see this message while Premiere is running so Premiere must be doing something that blocks the current screen saver but doesn't block Windows from attempting to start it.  Is there a way to keep Windows from attempting to start the screen saver at all (other than selecting no screen saver in Windows) so it doesn't interrupt playback?
    Roy

years ago screen savers helped keep crt monitors from getting 'burned in' areas of dead pixels etc from the screen being on a static image for too long. over the years this problem has been almost totally eliminated by monitor manufacturers i think.
i know people who worked in pro graphic houses that never turned off their computers, never used screen savers, and never did power management stuff ... the computers were on 24/7... and they never had problems.. and that was like more than 10 years ago.
i do have a nice snake screen saver that is static and / or animated if you want to try it out, but frankly, i would turn all that stuff off ( power management, screen saver ) and either leave your computer on all the time 24/7, or else just turn it off when you leave the computer... turn it back on when you want to use it.  is only a button on tower to turn on and off usually.. easy.
let me know if you want snakes though... they are very cool and scary !

  • My iq522 doesn't start and staying on start up screen without proceeding to boot process.

    HP IQ522PL Model No. NF369AA
    Windows Vista 64-bit
    No error message.
No changes made to the computer/software before the problem occured.
The problem is as described in the subject - the PC stays on start up blue HP screen and doesn't proceed into booting process.
No F-key commands is active, when I press for Menu or Setup option it just inform that its loading but nothing is happening.
I don't hear any noise of the disk.
What can I do to fix it and turn the PC to boot and start loading Windows system ?
Thanks in advance for any valuable advise on that.

    Hi,
I've unpluged the HDD and turned on the PC. It then moved from HP blue screen into black screen with the following message:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"
If I'm interpretating it right, it just confirming that doesn't see the hard drive and therefore the boot file is not found.
If this conclusion is right then maybe the boot file is missing and I need to load it some how, then.
Can you advise what your interpretation is and what should be my next move to diagnose the issue and finally fix it.
Looking forward for good advise on that.
    Regards,
    Konrad.

  • Windows Failed To Start (Windows 7)

I am not 100% sure where to post this, but I saw a similar post here, but not with the exact problem.
My spouse was playing a video game on the laptop when it suddenly shut down and when he rebooted the computer it gave him the error "Windows Failed to Start.  A recent hardware or software chage might have caused the issue after you install Windows Updates."  Well the two options we have are the repair function and to start windows normally.  The repair funtion said the memory was fine, but we could not do anything else with the repair.
We tried pressing F8 to get the computer in safe mode, but when you click on safe mode you go right back to the error screen.
When pressing F11 to try a system recovery, it also goes right back to the error screen.
We do not have the original windows disk to try a repair that way since the computer was given to us by a family member and the disks were not included.
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Where did you see version is Vista? Some models that I have seen have Vista listed in BIOS-but actually have Windows 7 installed.
Can you check the COA label wih license key attached to bottom of laptop & let us know if the version is Vista or Windows 7.

  • AE2010 is not getting to Windows | Stuck at Starting Windows

    Dear all,
I have MSI AE2010. Since few days the network adapter seems not to be stable.
While I tried to restart the PC that I thought it may refresh the devices, the computer
stopped at ( Starting Windows ), Even while trying to get into the safe mode.
I inserted its CD Recovery of Windows and the same problem.
Moreover, I noticed the heat in BIOS (Hardware Monitor) is 55c for the CPU. Is it OK?
The CPU is single core 2650e 1.6GHz.
Please help me come over the stuck problem of windows. Some files on the computer
    are important to me.
    Thank you.

    Dear All,
    I solved my problem
Discovered that once I unplug MSI USB 4-Ports Hub, the system works !
Once plugged, the system stuck there in the starting windows screen.
So after getting to windows without the MSI USB Hub, I can plug it and work normally.
    Good luck all

  • Extra Firefox transparent window stays open in WIndows 7

    Hello,
I am using Firefox 35.0.1 and just today something strange has started to happen.
In my task bar when I open Firefox as I am sure you know, an icon appears in the lower left. As you also probably know when you open more than one window you can see a window behind the first icon indicating another window is open.
Each time I open Firefox, an extra window opens that I did not open so if I opened 2 windows the icon in the task bar has 2 pages behind it, if I open one window, there is a page behind the icon. When I mouse-over that extra icon in the task bar the thumbnail image that shows is of the upper left hand corner of a browser window but you only see 250 pixels to the right and maybe 200 pixels down, so you see File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help and a bit of grey and down you see the url window and a small part of my homepage which is google. Well actually what you see is just white and I assume it is that part of a google homepage but who knows...Anyway, if I move my mouse over that thumbnail image what appears on the screen is an 800 by 600 transparent box...
Also, if you click on the thumbnail to call this window to open, the shadow box goes away and there is no window anywhere to be found. And, the window will not go away unless I close all Mozilla windows, I cannot close this window if I click the red 'X' in the thumbnail.
I have tried to take a screen shot to show you and something even stranger occurs...When I take a screen shot there is no shadow but an image of the other browser window that I did open, so whatever page I am on in the other window appears in the transparent box. Sometimes you see the whole window but sometimes the picture catches a browser window in the process of opening to full size, please see pictures one and two.
Explaining this has been difficult, I wish the screenshots actually showed you what i see, I hope I have not driven you crazy with all the details..I have tried to upload my pics which are gif images that are 87k and 38k but the upload doesn't work, the little circle just keeps going around and around and around so I can't get the darn images up here...Very frustrating.
If anyone out there can assist I would appreciate it. Should I remove Mozilla from my machine and reinstall? If so, is there some special uninstall steps I should do to make sure I get all files? Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jen

  • Windows failed to start. Could not load file Windows\System32\winload.exe

My friend tried to recover his laptop by using the recover button u can do from (controlpanel) and systems. It failed and when I try to start his laptop it says the typically Windows failed to start, \Windows\system32\winload.exe. Status:0xc000000f.
If it was my own laptop and if it was a desktop I would just make a clean installation. Delete all partitions and install new windows. But his laptop got these ones........
    disk 0 partition 1 200 mb system
disk 0 partition 2 227,7gb all free, primary
disk0 unallocated space 194 gb all free
    disk 0 partition 3: lenovo 29gb 8mb free, LOGICAL

Im afraid he got 2 harddrives a hdd and a sdd for windows. Im not sure and this looks like **bleep** to my eyes.
So if I could prevent deleting all partions and do a normal recovery it would be great.
SO I found this and I dont know if its what I should do. coderforlife

  • Windows Firewall damaged by 'Windows 7 antivirus 2012'

    I run Windows 7. I think 64bit, not sure.
I have been getting hit with a lot of rogue antiviruses and up till now have been fighting them off, but last night I was hit by a new rendition of "Windows 7 Antivirus 2012".
I got a window saying explorer.exe wanted to make changes to my computer, I would tell it no and each time it would return. In between the constantly returning window I managed to open the task manager, find the process, and end the process. I then found
the file and destroyed it with killbox.
Everything seems to be back in working order now, except for the firewall. Every page in the control panel for windows firewall gives me an Administrator button that says use reccomended settings', when I click it it says it can't do that and gives
me error 0x800705b4, which I understand to be an authentication error.
The last time I had this I tried to reset my firewall with an admistrator command prompt, it would tell me it could not load wshelper.dll, so I did some stuff I cannot remember to reset my winsock and was then able to reset my firewall and all was good again.
This time when I go into command.com and type 'netsh advfirewall reset' instead of the DLL message, I get 'An error occoured while attempting to contact the  Windows Firewall service. Make sure the service is running and try your request again'.
In my attempts to fix this myself I have been to the device manager. I had it 'show hidden devices' and located my Windows Firewall Authorization driver. I found it had been stopped, and so I started it again. It currently says it is started, but nothing
    has changed functionally.
I have been into Services as an Administrator; Windows Firewall is not there. I was also told to look for Windows Event Controller and Base Filtering Engine and they are not there either.
I have done an administrator command promtp with sfc /scannow and the first time it said it had made changes and the second time it said everythign was alright but nothing functionally has changed.
I have been told to enter the following command prompts and gotten - the following results
netsh advfirewall reset - error stated above
net start mpsdrv - The requested service has already been started
net start bfe - The service name is invalid
net start mpssvc - the service name is invalid
regsvr32 firewallapi.dll - Popup window stating DllRegisterServer in firewallapi.dll succeeded
    no functional change after that.
I have also been told to try:
sc config wuauserv start= auto - [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS
sc config bits start= auto - [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS
sc config DcomLaunch start= auto - Access is denied.
net stop wuauserv - The Windows Update service was stopped successfully.
net start wuauserv - The Windows Update service was started successfully.
net stop bits - The Backround Intelligent Transfer Service was stopped successfully.
net start bits - The Backround Intelligent Transfer Service was started successfully.
net start dcomlaunch - The requested service has already been started.
I have also tried a system restore, but whatever is screwing with my firewall is also screwing with that an it will not complete successfully.
A Windows XP thread steered me toward a file called, I believe, netfw.inf in my windir folder, related to the firewall. This does not seem to be on my Windows 7 machine and I have been unable to find the Windows 7 equivalent.
So, it appears my firewall is gone, or just pretending to be. I fixxed it last time by making some correction to my winsock but I cannot seem to find the process I used for that. Additionally, Microsoft Security Essentials has dissapeared from my system
tray, though otherwise seems to be working fine.
I am confident that this can be fixxed without a wipe and reinstall. Please help.

  • Stuck on "Starting Windows" screen

    Hello,
For some reason, my laptop graphics display shut down earlier today. So, I tried the shut down my laptop (thinking that it was just overheating from work) and let it cool down. I tried to start it up a bit later and it would not start up. It just stayed on the Starting Windows screen.
I have attempted to get in through safe mode. This works. To an extent. Safe Mode with networking does NOT work.
    System Restore does NOT work
    Check Disk does NOT work
    System Repair does NOT work
    bootsect does NOT work
I have resolved myself to the fact that I may need to do a full recovery on it. HOWEVER, I have important files for work and school that I MUST keep. Some of it is backed up, some of it is not. The more recent stuff is what is NOT backed up. That is what I need most.
I have a System Recovery DVD that I ordered from HP a few months back. Now, my question is... Will this allow me to do a NON-DESTRUCTIVE Recovery? I desperately need these files.
Safe mode will not allow me to do a backup to my External Harddrive. It won't even RECOGNIZE or ATTEMPT to recognize my external.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Hi,
There is no option for a non-destructive recovery using recovery discs, however you could try either of the options below to see if you can retrieve your data.
    1.  Mount the HDD in an external caddy, connect this to another PC and see if this will allow you to read the drive.
    2.  Another possible way to try and retrieve your files from a non-booting drive is to follow the process detailed in the link below.  The Ubuntu operating system CD you create can run from the CD alone ( ie it doesn't have to install on the Hard Drive ) and I've often found it to be successful in retrieving data even from a failing Hard Drive.  When you've created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can back up your existing files.

  • HP ProBook 4440s stuck on starting windows screen

    Hello Everyone,
I am in desperate need of help!!  I have a HP ProBook 440s laptop which was working perfectly fine on Friday.  Now today on Monday when I turn on the computer it gives me 2 options because it says Windows failed to start.....1) launch startup repair (recommended) or to start windows normally.  When I choose to to do the system repair it says loading files and when done a box pops up and says " The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x40161651 and then says click on OK to terminate the program.  After I click ok, it says the installed program cannot start and to click ok to turn off the computer.  Then back to square 1 with turning on the computer with my 2 options mentioned above.  If I try to start windows normally then it will just stay stuck on the starting windows screen.  I have tried hitting F8 to try and launch windows in safe mode the screen will just say loading window files and please wait at the bottom....but it will just stay stuck on this screen with nothing happening even after 45 minutes!!!  All I want to do is to be able to access my pictures that I failed to backup!  I am ok with getting a new laptop, but just desperately need a way to get my pictures off this laptop!!  Any help will definitely definitely be needed and appreciated!!!  Thank you so much in advance!!!

    Hi,
Take out the hard drive, connect it to another PC using SATA to USB adapter. Using Windows Explorer in that PC, copy everything you need to salvage to another external drive.
Manual - Page 62-64 for procedure on taking out the drive:
    http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/manualsResults/?sp4ts.oid=522948...
Which is the operating system installed?
Do you have recovery media or installation discs?
Please test the hard drive - quick & extensive tests from BIOS: tap f2 as soon as you power on laptop to get into System Diagnostics. Complete the tests.

If you restored the hard drive to its original factory-new contents using the Toshiba recovery media, then the problem is almost certainly due to malfunctioning hardware.

  • Windows 8.1 Start Screen via GPO

    Hello all,
Thanks for taking the time to read this.  I realise there are other posts with similar issues to myself, however having read through these posts and applied fixes provided, I am still unable to get this to work.  I am having an issue when trying
to apply the Start Screen Layout GPO.
I am attempting to configure this GPO on my Windows 8.1 test network at the moment, but having no joy with it.
I am using Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard, and Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
Having done gpresult /r on my test workstation I can confirm the GPO has applied, and also when I check in the registry, the value has been changed in line with the GPO.
The .xml file is located on a share, although I have also tried the with the .xml file locally on a single test machine and the start screen still does not change.
Some of the policy is applying, as when I link the policy, I cannot then customize the start screen on my pc which from what I understand is expected behaviour.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Doug

  • Windows 7 Install Hangs at "Starting Windows" Screen

Having problems installing Windows 7 Home Premium from DVD on a newly built computer. When I run the Windows 7 Home Premium disc I get past "windows is loading files..." and then freeze on "starting windows" just after I see 4 little colored balls in the center of the screen.

    1. Using a PS2 keyboard/mouse
    2. Disabling USB in bios
    3. Disabling just about everything else in bios
    4. Tried w/ 2MB, 4MB and 6MB ram
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi Stentorian,
It seems that you have not ever tried installing other systems like Windows XP and etc on your new built computer. It is difficult for us to determine if the computer actually works.
In addition, since the installation process has not even passed first stage to copy the installation files to the memory. The issue is likely to be caused by incompatible hardware such as the incompatible motherboarad, RAM and etc. Therefore, it is strongly recommended contacting with the hardware manufacture or the retailer to help you check the issue cause you may spend too much time on testing the issue by yourself.
Or you can also try installing Windows 7 on one hard drive and plug in one memory card (2MB, 4MB and 6MB respectively) to check if it works.
NOTE: During the installation, please unplug all the unnecessary hardware devices to avoid any conflicts.
    Judy :)

Specifically, the posts by Dunsany and valkyr did the trick.  I booted in safe mode, uninstalled and deleted the Nvidia driver, disabled automatic driver installation, and restarted normally.  I then manually downloaded and installed the previous Nvidia driver for my graphics card (which at the time of this writing was 335.23, rather than the latest which was 337.88), and everything is now bueno!
Two hiccoughs along the way: First, when I tried to uninstall the Nvidia driver the first time, when I restarted I got the login screen (which was a good sign), but it quickly went black again.  I powered down, restarted in safe mode again, and repeated the uninstallation process, and it worked the second time.  Second, when I started the manual install of the 335.23 driver, the computer played a sound similar to the one for disconnecting a USB device, and the screen went black.  I'd seen a lot about trying to increase the brightness (though it hadn't worked up to this point; but if you haven't tried it yet, might as well); I tried it, and it worked! So far I'm back up and running. [/fingers crossed]
    Hope this helps someone else!
