Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.

Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.

This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

Windows 7 - Driver Availability Chart For Creative Products is nearly useless

This appear to be revamped Vista drivers that are not usable for W7 RTM. MS made changes to W7 where most Vista drivers do not work properly any more.
When I try to install the drivers through the installer I get the incompatibility error and the installer quits, then I get the failed install pop-up for W7.
What I would like to know is when Creative plans on releasing drivers that work with W7 RTM? Llinking drivers that worked for W7 RC is not helping and really should be removed.
I have used Creative sound cards since just before the SB6 came out. I have been a loyal Creative customer from early on. But if Creative can not deali'ver a fully working driver suit for my sound card by the end of the month (November) I would appreciate knowing so I can start looking for another a replacement, which won't be a Creative product.
Even though my last 3 MBs have had good built-in sound, I have went out and bought Creative sound cards because I wanted the best, which Creative has previously provided.
I need to upgrade my MB so I have put of buying a new sound card until I do. But if I'm forced to buy a new sound card because Creative says it will provide drivers that work with W7 RTM and for what ever reason can not do so, I will not be buying another Creative product.
I maintain 4 PCs of my own so that will be 4 cards bought from a competitor since Creative has completely dropped the ball. All major component manufacturers have been able to release stable drivers at the same time as W7 RTM release , or within days after release. Why hasn't Creative been able to do so? Creative was able to release suitable drivers for RC in a timely fashion, what happened with W7 RTM? Did they recently fire all the programs and techs?
Please do not link useless info. Please find out what is going on and tell the powers-that-be at Creative they have some really upset customers and ask them to tell us what is happening here. Tell them we would like to know when Creative plans on releasing drivers for W7 RTM so we can make the decision to wait it out or buy replacements.

Again, yes Device Manager has no problem detecting the card and W7 has no problem loading the default Window drivers for it.
Since I had to replace my TV Tuner Card, I used Device Manager to remove it and my Audigy card and then shut the PC down. My new TV Tuner Card is a PCI-E x so I installed it in an open slot and move the Audigy to the PCI slot where the old TV Tuner Card was.
When I started my PC again, W7 detected the Audigy card and loaded the defeult drivers. I again tried to use the installer and had the same error.
The sound works, but I only have basic Windows functions/controls.
It is most definately not a hardware issue.
The online auto update detects it, just the installer does not detect it.
I am currently awaiting a response from CS now. Of course the problem there is that you have to wait/respond, wait/respond, wait/respond just to cover the same ground that has been gone over a hundrd times already.
I put every step I have done in the email. As usual, it was a waste to type because you are asked questions already answered and to preform steps already done.
It would be nice if CS would realize that some of us are only contacting CS because we have already done all the standard steps without success and now need to move onto the advanced ste

When a PeopleTools installer for Windows 7 is available?

I recently installed Windows 7 on my computer. The PeopleTool installer (pscfg.exe) can install the files on the computer, but it won't create the program group and shortcuts in the Start->All Programs because the script looks for some registry keys that are not in Windows 7 registry and Windows 7 does not have the "Start->All Programs" directory in user's home directory. I would like to know when the installer for Windows 7 is available?

Thanks for your help.Peopletools 8.19 on Windows 7 ? There is about 8-10 years between the release of these two softwares, that does not surprise me you have issues by trying this. I don't thing that's a good idea to do that, furthermore, that's not supported. Lastly, the Windows Home edition have never been supported neither independantly of the version we're talking about.

T410 with Windows XP Professional availability ?

First it seems you cannot buy an XP downgraded machine directly from Lenovo anymore, even from the business portal (this is for business use). Can anyone confirm this ? Our company hasn't bought from lenovo directly before. We have always bought from DELL but have had some problems with them recently. I suspect that Lenevo is still delivering XP machines to certain clients.
Second, I found many resellers with XP downgraded T410's available and decided on a T410 25148JU (available from 90 sellers on shopping.google.com). Can anyone confirm that, for this exact model, that the machine comes with XP installed (Rather than with Windows 7 and rights/or CD's for XP-pro). I don't want to spend hours having to reinstall XP and all the drivers; I want XP ready to go.

Is it possible you entered the model wrong? There is no 2514-anything. If you mean 2518-4ju, that model came with XP

10.0.2 reader for Windows still not available

hi - over 6 hours after the security bulletin was released there is still no 10.0.2 reader for Windows available - please could Adobe advise when this will be online?
I'm looking at both of these locations and 10.0.1 is the latest...

The advisory makes perfect sense - you're getting mixed up between "Adobe Reader" and "Adobe Acrobat".
Acrobat X users on Windows and Mac should update to 10.0.2 now. The patch is deployed, use "check for updates" to download it.

License Problem - Option NSP on Windows again Not Available

I downloaded and just installed the :
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version
for Windows.
To get a license I went to link "SAP Sneak Preview License Key Request"

i also have the same problem!! NSP is not being offered. Only those antique versions are being offered in the drop-down list!
Very very sorry situation for us, the sap fans! Does anybody know how to proceed further? I am under xp(sp3)/maxdb.

ANNOUNCEMENT!! Updated Windows PostScript Drivers Available (6/24/2001)

On June 22, 2001, Adobe Systems Incorporated posted Version 1.0.4 of the Adobe Universal Windows PostScript Driver Installer on its web site at:
It is available for fifteen languages.
Depending upon the version of Windows on which it is run upon, it installs and updates the PostScript driver as follows:
Windows'95, Windows'98, and Windows ME
- AdobePS 4.5.1
Windows'NT 4
- AdobePS 5.2 (plus AdobePS 4.5.1 for download to
Windows'95, Windows'98, and Windows Me clients
of network printers)
Windows 2000
- PSCRIPT5 5.2 (plus AdobePS 4.5.1 for download to

AND AdobePS 5.2 for Windows NT 4 clients

These are the same versions of the drivers that ship with Adobe Acrobat 5. To create new printer driver instances, users of Acrobat 5 should NEVER use earlier versions of the Adobe Universal Windows PostScript Driver Installer than that on the Acrobat 5 CDROM or this version. These drivers have features REQUIRED for proper coordination of the PostScript driver with Acrobat Distiller 5.
Note that the PSCRIPT 5 5.2 driver provided in this installer is NEWER than the driver in the Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2. Good news - running either of those service packs will NOT overwrite this newer version of PSCRIPT 5 with an older version if you run this installer first.
This installer should be run to either (1) update the existing driver and its instances to the latest version of AdobePS and/or PSCRIPT 5 and/or (2) to create new PostScript driver printer instances.
In addition to support for Acrobat Distiller 5, AdobePS 5.2 and PSCRIPT5 5.2 provide the following new features under "Device Settings" to users of Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 that were previously only available for users of AdobePS 4.4 and later under Windows'9x/Me:
(1) "True gray" support options for both vector graphics and text. Defaulted to "no" values, when set to "yes" the "Convert Gray Text to PostScript Gray" and "Convert Gray Graphics to PostScript Gray" assume that for all text and vector graphics objects respectively, color values in which the red (R), green (G), and blue (B) values match are really an expression of grayscale as opposed to RGB color. The default "no" results in those RGB values passed through to the printer or Distiller as-is. The "yes" value can dramatically improve output quality for black and grayscale text and vector graphics for PostScript color printers that do not automatically make assumptions about and convert R=G=B values to K values. The "yes" value also assists in creating prepress-friendly PostScript and PDF from applications that do not generate their own PostScript (including Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, and other popular office suite and productivity programs). [I recommend that users always set these values to "yes" - Dov.]
(2) Add Euro Currency Symbol to PostScript Fonts. Defaulted to a "yes" value, this option tries to augment older text Type 1 "device fonts," i.e. those text fonts that are printer-resident, with a definition for the Euro character when necessary. This option does NOT affect host-based Type 1 or TrueType fonts that are downloaded to the printer as needed.
[Windows 2000 users should be aware of one remaining problem for which Adobe is currently working for a "fix." Some, but not all applications that do not generate their own PostScript or manage their own fonts (including Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Word) display text formatted in ITC Zapf Dingbats and possibly Carta and other selected symbol fonts as "Wingdings" on the screen although the characters have the "widths" of the correct font. However, these characters do print correctly on paper or in PDF created via distillation. The problem is a bit more complex than just a fix to the driver. A workaround of deleting references to such fonts from the PPDs of PostScript printers is only a partially-effective workaround. Again, Adobe is working on a fix for this problem.]

If you try Creative WDM driver (MME or DS) w/ other software, does those work?
If not, then you need to re-install Creative bundled drivers.
You can test both w/ NI BeatPort Player as for an example (or w/ Winamp, etc. (w/ Winamp, you can also use Kernel Streaming or ASIO output plugin which both gives maybe a bit better output quality)).
How 'bout those windows audio settings (start run.. mmsys.cpl)?
