Window content jumps up and down by itself

I have installed Snow Leopard a few days ago and I am experiencing a phenomenon which I could not find any reference to up to now. I wonder if I have activated some "feature" without knowing.
What happens is that when I scroll a window, in any way (arrows, clicking in the bar, moving the cursor) as soon as I stop the action, it jumps back to the selected item. But in some cases the selection seems to move by itself somehow below the point I scrolled to.
Any idea about how to stop this behavior? It's driving me crazy.

Additional observation: this seems to happen when the window is ordered by date, and I hear the HD making a short burst noise every few seconds. If I go to Name ordered view this disappears.

Adobe Flash 16 and 17 cause safari & Firefox browsers to jump up and down the page

Running MAC Pro 2010 10.10.2 Yosemite - Version 15 of adobe Flash was working fine. When version 16 came out the problems started with web pages jumping up and down and not being able to type/ edit things as web page jumps up or down away??? I Used the adobe Uninstaller , restarted the MAC, looked for the files in the library adobe said to look for ( non were there) and tried to install Adobe ver 15 of flash
And it starts to install, then the install window turns BLACK then the error message says install failed?? Try again? I have tried this a few times and always the same message.
Any idea how to install this older version 15??

It's not really the politics -- we're all pretty friendly on an engineering level (the business stuff is competitive, but that's always the case), but in how serious the security landscape is. There are armies of people reverse-engineering and weaponizing bugs in all popular products (often times way more people than work on the products themselves), and the time it takes to reverse-engineer the patches in a current version to weaponize and use against older versions is really short now. If you're not staying updated, you're a sitting duck.
If you look at this from an immunology perspective, what we don't want is an epidemic, so just like we do with childhood diseases, we want to maintain herd immunity. If 95% of the population is patched, it's difficult to deploy malware that spreads like wildfire. If you have a population that never updates (it used to take about 6 months for the majority Flash users to pick up the latest version, now it's closer to 48 hours with background update), even attacks that you've already fixed remain viable for months. If attacks have a short shelf-life, this pushes up the cost of developing the attack to where it's out of reach for most bad actors.
The Extended Support Release I linked to above *is* an older version of Flash, but it has all the latest security updates. It also won't be blocked by Safari. If the problem goes away, it's something that we broke in a new feature. If it doesn't, it's fallout from a security change, and I'd like to get more info on how to reproduce it, so we can try and fix it for the next patch update.

Why does the text jump up and down when I'm trying to read or click on something? It's damned annoying. How can I stop it

Home page or email page, the page jumps up and down at random and when I try to click on something I often miss and end up clicking something I don't want. It gets real annoying and I can't find where to stop it. Why did someone think to do this in the first place. I've learned new profanity because of it.

Why does my browser screen go up and down by itself?

Recently when I've been using Mozilla, the screen will go up and down by itself. When I try to go to the top, the bar to the right side just goes all the way to the bottom. Also sometimes when I use my shift key and try to type a letter, it will take me out of the website I'm in. It only started doing this this week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

After upgrade, video's (with flash 10 10,2,159,1) jumps up and down

Satellite A300 screen keeps jumping up and down

Hi,
What is on my screen keeps jumping up and down, any thoughts, is this a problem with video card in Satellite A300?

I have tried to install the display driver from the European website. During uninstallation I got a messgae to say failures occurred during uninstallation, and then during installation I got the message of Install package failure!
I have my external monitor now connected to laptop, but in personalising display settings, I cannot get my computer to recognise that I have two monitors now, as both keep coming up with number 1 (Multiple Monitors) on ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650, and they both have that degraded view, a bit like in safe mode.
So in checking of device manager under display adapters I have:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650
and under Sound, video and game controllers I have:
High Definition Audio Device
Realtek High Definition Audio
In this whole process I deleted a file that was previously here called
ATI HMD...
should I resinstall this?
So I'm not sure if the new display driver has been installed? help.

FLV exported from PPro jumps up and down...

Hello... I'm exporting an FLV from Premiere Pro CS4 (Mac). When playing back on both Adobe Media Player and when posted on my website it jumps up and down periodically - the whole video pops upward several inches, then back down again, then up again...etc. Has anyone had this before? Ideas? Have played with export settings to no avail. Any help or suggestions most appreciated. Tx.

Thank you for all your replies. In examining my projects details more closely to post here (see below) I think I've had an "Aha" moment. It seems the jumping happens on the clips that the GenArts effects are applied to. (The video isn't up on the website as I didn't want to post it as long as this issue pertained. Will let you know if I get around to putting it up for entertainment...er...educational value...but right now would rather spend time sorting the problem out.;)
I think if I exported this Sequence and made another project with that clip as a whole unit THEN exported an FLV it would probably solve the jumping - IF it is indeed being caused by the effects. Although it always irks to have to add a bunch of steps....
Now - as CS4 doesn't export AVI from a MAC :-( (...does anyone know if CS5 does? It is a preferred format and I can't believe CS4 took it away...) what would be the best format to export as, keeping in mind I don't want to lose any quality... .mov? .mp4?

Why is youtube exports jumping up and down

I export my material into a variety of formats and, for instance, YouTube HD using the built-in presets.
When exporting to YouTube, something goes wrong, though, that the other formats doesn't have a problem with.
It's like the video is jumping up and down one line all the time.

After installing Firefox 4, all flash videos and menu boxes jump up and down. I have removed and reinstalled the flash plug in to no avail. This does not affect the playback, just the border of the video or menu box. Other browsers do not do this. Just wondering why this happens?

Although the blocks are placed the same on each page, they seem to jump up and down when going from one page to the next. What is going wrong here?

Is the bar on your master page? The jumping is the refresh because the bars are different colours and they also look to be out of (page width) alignment to me but I'd need to see the files to be sure.

Contents shift right and down, rulers shift up and right ??? !!!

Hi Chaps/Chappesses, this one has been bugging me a while now. I create ads for national press and the ads for one client are causing me hassle.
I open an ad to update it for the following week and the entire contents shift right and down 5 - 10mm not a problem you say, but using any selection tools it selects the position of the item 'before' it shifted making editing a nightmare. How I get around it is to copy and paste into a new doc and I can work the file for a while, then when I come to open it again, it's shifted again.

I've run font doctor, changed the images, the only thing I can't do is change the fonts.

Which version of InDesign? Are you using Suitcase?
This all sounds familiar from a couple of years ago when things appeared shifted on screen. Turned out to be caused by some aspect of Suitcase, if memory serves.
