Window flashing when you go to "Save" or "Save As"
For the last couple of days I've had a real hard time with saving. When the window to save pops us it freezes, it often seems blurry or to be flashing. Changing a file name or writing in your own file name seems difficult because the program, Word or Acrobat Freezes. Eventually I either cancel or enter a random value in the name and then go in manually and change the name in finder. Either way the entire process takes many times longer than it used to.
Is it Yosemite issue or an update needed from Microsoft and Acrobat? I've done all the updates but there is no difference.
Not sure, it looks like a Windows tweak. The file open dialog box is a Windows feature. Does this happen on other programs?? You can try to click the last icon on top, change the view to '''Details''', click the '''Name''' header, then the '''Type''' column header until '''File Folder''' comes on top alphabetically.

For Boot Camp, if you save a file when you are on the Windows side, when you return to the Mac side, can you see the file or can it only be "seen" on the operating side you create it in?
Why don't you (generic most every post lacks critical details) be clear and say you never used Mac OS etc.

Excel is one of those rare programs that, if they are extremely large complex spreadsheets still tend to run better under Office for Windows.
A VM won't do for that but it does make it easier to transition. As in: install Windows natively, then use VMware Fusion or Parallels to attach to the partition and OS. That way you can run Windows as Guest OS VM under Mac; and still run Windows natively dual-boot when needed.
The word "see" was not what you wanted, was it? really? you want to open and make changes and keep it on Windows side rather than Save As or copy to Mac

I can't open mail on Hotmail from Firefox. I can from Safari. What is done by Flash when you press "Show all" option???

I need technical information. I'd like to know which kind of resizing is done by Flash when you press the "Show all" option. What differences between "Show all" and 100% are there???
I'm programming an application and the Flash Player Proyector always has the "Show all" option enabled modifying the size of my content!!!!!

Does the kin one flash when you get a message?
I noticed when i was looking at the phone it had like two little circles in the upper right corner. Does one of them flash when you have a text message like a blackberry or is it just the touch sensors?
Neither Kin model has a flashing LED, so it might be a light sensor.

Finder Window Flashes When Showing Preview Of Multimedia Files.
When Show Icon Preview is selected the finder window flashes(i.e, its gets highlighted and deactivated in a flashing manner) especially when previewing files of movies and pictures(PDF previewing is fine).The problem is there even in cover flow mode while loading the preview,and once the preview(thumnails) of files are done the finder behaves normal.When i checked the problem in another account it's working fine with out any problem in show icon preview mode,clover flow mode.I think the problem is a corrupted preference file.I tried deleting com.apple.finder.plist but its of no use...
You are using Perian?
--> Delete ~/Library/Preferences/org.perian.Perian.plist and re-login! May update the Perian tool and the flashing is gone. -

New to iphone and first time using the web I get a message that I can't view a page because Apple blocks Adobe Flash. There seems to be some big story behind this, but what are you supposed to do to view those sites? Sorry if there is an obvious answer somewhere but I'm muddling my way through all of this!

However a page that requires flash only is most likely that of a company or business with heavy marketing content. Most websites with useful content either don't base their entire homepage on flash or have a mobile version for smartphones. So if you're visiting company or movie websites just do it on your computer. Apple and now adobe considers that the battery hit for flash animations is not worth it for phones. Most flash content is pure advertising rubbish anyway. I always install Adblock on all my browsers and barely see any flash except for videos and websites where the flash is not advertising.

Does logging out of Firefox when you're not using it save energy?
Have been reading about how much energy servers consume. If I log out of Firefox when I'm not using it, does that decrease the amount of energy servers are using?
If you've never replaced the hard drive, it could be slowing down - 3 to 5 years is the typical lifespan for a notebook hard drive.
Do you know how much RAM is in the computer?
If the computer mostly works OK, you may just need to invest in it a little - replacing the hard drive & upgrading the RAM will breathe new life into it, most likely!
You do not need to shut it down each time you're done using it - in fact, I leave my MacBook asleep 90% of the time and reboot it every couple of weeks or when it seems to be getting a bit sluggish. I've been doing that for the last 7 years and she's still chugging along.

I've tried a number of different search terms and yet can't quite seem to find an exact answer to my question.
I currently use a Windows 7 computer and have my songs for iTunes on an external hard drive. I would like to find some step by step instructions on how to transfer my library to a new Windows 8 computer and still utilize the external hard drive to store my music. What I find very confusing is I have similar folders for iTunes on both my computer and the external hard drive (ex. Album Artwork, iTunes Library Extras, Previous iTunes Libraries). I'm not sure which files to move over to the new computer to make for a smooth transition.

Exported mp4 video "flashes" when viewing.
Hey everyone.
All my exported video flashes when you play it. I am sure it is something with exporting but I have tried several different settings and it keeps happening. Does anyone know why that would happen? Logical Volume D: in Windows lost when upgrading Yosemite
I have 3 partitions 1 for Mac and 2 for Windows.
After I updated Yosemite yesterday, the D: Volume in Windows disappeared, but I can still read the Volume in MacOS.
And I also noticed that there are others encountered the same problem.
Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10)I have a similar setup, except that I have three partitions in Windows.
When you install OS X, it creates a hidden, recovery partition. For some reason, it automatically makes OS X & the recovery partition 'visible' in Windows.
However, you are limited to having only three partitions visible in Windows, so you end up with OS X, the recovery partition & the Windows partition visible, with the other partitions seemingly gone.
It is necessary to make OS X & the recovery partition not visible in Windows, in order to make the other Windows partitions visible.
I daresay it is possible to do this through Terminal, but I don't know what the commands are to do this. I use 'iPartition' to do this: it is simply a matter of checking/unchecking the 'make visible in Windows' boxes for each partition as required. -
I have upgraded my PC to new Windows 8 machine .. Now when I place a signature on document and save it does not automatically place a "signed" extension on the filename. Previous version on my machine always did this.
Why is this , can I set up my new version to do same...When you "save as" as opposed to simply "save", there is sometimes a different location for the file to be saved. When you "save as" to the same location as an original, you will bewarned that a file already exists with that name and be asked if you're sure you want ot overwrite the original file. If you didn't see that when "saving as", you probably saved the signed file to a different location.

Flash quits when you close the window
Why does Flash CS5 quit when you close the window you were working in? It has to restart every time you close and open a file.
This doesn't seem to be a crashing issue. The program seems to be designed like Windows, wherein the application quits when you close the last open window. This is incredibly annoying and completely unacceptable.
