Window in display gets larger, then smaller, then larger, etc.

Not sure this is the correct category, but in the windows of my new MacBook (10.6.3), the font/graphics/image will suddenly get larger as I'm typing or viewing, then maybe even larger, before going smaller. I can do a command & - to manually make it get smaller, or command & + for larger, but it is a hassle. I have tried going into appearance and displays settings in system preferences to try and set it to not change, but cannot find where to do that. I just want it to stay put in one setting, period. I hope this makes sense to someone who can tell me how to fix it. Thanks.

It sounds to me (based on the commands you are using to fix it) like you are inadvertently activating the ZOOM feature with a multitouch (two finger) gesture on your trackpad. This could happen if you are in the habit of resting your thumbs/palms on the trackpad while typing.
You could disable this gesture by going into system preferences, trackpad and unchecking the two finger zoom option, but I know that personally, I use this gesture frequently while reading web pages.
In my case, I worked at getting in the habit of avoiding contact with the trackpad unless I wanted to zoom. Still in some cases (two finger scroll up or down for example) I inadvertently spread my two fingers apart during the scroll gesture and end up with an unintended zoom.

Hi. I changed my Windows 7 display to large font (150%) and then found that if I tried to overrride a rule for an object in SCOM 2012 console I got a weird display, nothing like the usual one. When I changed my display to medium (125%) the override

I thought I'd post this because I spent a while deleting profiles, re-installing SCOM console etc. before I figured it out. Might help someone else...

Same issue here. I'm afraid this is by design.
Only thing you can do is change your font size back to 100% and change your display resolution or open a remote desktop connection into a SCOM management server and work from there.

Version 7.0.1 gets HUGE, the display gets skewed and then the system (XP Pro) locks up!

Computer is a Lenovo T500, running XP Pro. Since version 7.0.0 Firefox grows HUGE to the point where the display gets skewed and the system is locked and then unlocked.
I have to kill Firefox in order to clear up the problem -- then it starts all over again. I have seen it grow to well over 1,400,000 KB of memory usage-- and more!
It was working fine on the Firefox 5 versions.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Quit the messages app and reset your phone.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it jiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
After the phone restarts go into Messages and delete the thread containing the problem message.

When I click on a photo it gets larger and then disappears

When I view an album and click on a picture it gets larger for just a second and then goes away. A triange with a is replaced where the picture should be. Apple recenty reinstalled my OS due to problems with I-work opening slow, which is working ok now. They got my pictures on the I-photo again. However, I have many duplicates and they are all messed up with Events out of sort. I don't know if I will ever get them organized again. My concern now is why some of the pic disappear when I click on them. Has anyone had this problem before with the pics disappearing?

do you still have the iPhoto library from before they "fied" things? Is so drag the bad i{hoto library to the desktop and restore the backup of the iPhoto library to the pictures folder and hopefully things will be good

Trying to use a new, larger external hard drive for my Time Machine backup. However, every time I start the backup, it gets started then fails. And, I can't delete the few files that did save on the external. Sort of a catch 22. Any ideas?

Is it a USB hard drive? USB hard drives have the problem of not giving full speed if they are hooked up on the same bus as keyboards and mice. Double check your profiler to make sure that is not a problem. If it is Firewire, make sure there aren't other firewire devices in use at the same time. I recommend not only keeping a Time Machine backup, but also a clone, and if you do use Time Machine, to make sure the Time Machine drive or partition is at least twice the size of the original drive.

I will attach a recent screen shot of a print window I opened and the extra code is above and below the window. There are matrix type blocks of code and then lines under the window. I get this all the time and it is getting worse.
Any help to get rid of it would be appreciated.

It's likely the Video card, or possibly heat.

Under Windows 7, 64-bit, Firefox intermittently will not open a new window - all I get is a grey screen, with a tiny part of my homepage displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

The problem began after a recent Firefox update. Got the exact same problem aswell, finally fed up with it now as i just started up firefox and 14 new windows opened because of this bug, luckily my computer can handle them but someone with a slower processor it would have been a nightmare, needs fixing ASAP.
Reverting back to 3.6.3 until this issue is solved. (link for anyone wanting to do the same below)

Need to restrict the image resizing in generating the print output to a minimum size (to allow it to be readable) and allow the printed output to flow into a multiple pages wide by multiple pages in length if necessary. Currently it is restricted to one page.

I do not want to use IE! I presume it has something to do with Adobe DLM as ever since then it is not working.

I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
1. Shut down the computer
2. Reboot and open firefox
3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck!
